Well isn't this nice to wake up to these posts!

It was good to see you could grab some time here before work, C. Hope your drive was a safe one. I hate driving on ice!

Glad you survived the dentist, YH. 2 hours....ugh. Hope next time is a quicker visit!

I keep thinking I'll be hitting menopause soon, but I'm still waiting. 47 now, will be 48 in Sept. My mom went thru it in her early 50's so maybe I have a couple more yrs, who knows. I read once that men are at the root of all our problems...MENopause, MENstruation....

I think weather has a lot to do with moods, C. You & I live in colder climates, where we cannot stay outside for very long all year round. I've read that we need a good 15-20 min of straight sunshine per day, every day. One reason a lot of people get depressed around the holidays. It's not just the holiday but the time of year in colder climates where we spend more time indoors. Lack of vitamen D. You might want to ask your dr about it. Sometimes a simple dose of vitamens is all you need to pep you up. Also...(here I go again) food has a lot to do with it too. If you have a chance, look up "foods that affect your moods" and you'll be surprised at what comes up. I had to do a report on this for my sorority and if I remember correctly, Omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon, lobster, shrimp, walnuts & olive oil help reduce depression. So sometimes it's just a matter of changing your diet around a little to give you that boost of energy or happiness.

I am determined to go to Curves today even though I'm feeling a little yucky. Who knows what the weather will be like the rest of the week, so better to take advantage of the sunshine and good driving weather today. Yes, I'll be thinking of you too, YH. Hope you enjoy your Curves visit!

Tonight I am baking a whole chicken for supper. I need to cut back on the snacking so hopefully that will help fill me up and prevent me from going overboard later on. I think a lot of it is also the fact that dh is on vacation and around me all day, eating foods that I shouldn't have, so it makes me look for things that I can have. When I am alone, I usually am too busy to think about food in between meals.

Have a happy day everyone! D

Geez, I am totally depressed too the last couple days and tired, my anxiety level is high and taking the xanax 4 x's day, hope this passes soon.

I stopped at Curves on the way home from work, there are 14 machines-two of them you use in place of the bouncy. I was able to do all except the squat one. I had to drag myself in there but glad I did.

Am-Strawberries and a pear

Lunch- Kashi oats cereal w a little ff milk
1 hb egg
1 kirby cuke

Dinner- leftover turkey breast
asparagus

Snacks-unknown -but i better be careful-im thinking about the snacks before I even eat dinner.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling up-to-par, YH. Does exercising give you a boost of energy at all? So your Curves has more machines than mine does. How many rotations do you do? We have 10 machines but I don't do one of them, so I went through 9 machines (and bouncy boards) 3 times on the 40-sec interval. Took me about 45 min. Really gave myself a good workout today. I was sweating and huffing and puffing so I feel like I really did something good for my body and it does energize me. Good for you for going YH, especially after a long day at work!

My Netrition order came in today. Thank goodness. Wish I had it last night when I was going crazy looking for some low-carb snacks. Among the things I ordered were these little chocolate meringues. They are about the size of a cocktail meatball, have a cocoa flavoring and because they are made of egg whites, they melt in your mouth. Pretty good, especially where 13 of them are a total of 40 calories, 0 fat and 0 carbs. I just have to remember not to have more than a few at a time because these are ones I could just eat one after the other. I also ordered some high protein, low-carb pudding, low-carb pita bread, 0-carb bran crackers, low-carb choc-covered marshmallow treats, low-carb spice cookies and a jar of soy "peanut butter." Surprisingly, that is not too bad. Doesn't taste exactly like real p'nut butter, has more of a nutty soy flavor, but it's the consistency of real p'nut butter and it has 0 carbs so I thought I'd try it out on the bran crackers for a 0 carb snack. Can't go wrong with that. Oh and I am trying out this soy spaghetti. We are having mussels sauteed in white wine and garlic over spaghetti this wkd. A fav of my family's. I was going to have mine over broccoli but then I saw this low-carb soy pasta so I ordered it and will try it instead. I hope it tastes good and doesn't raise my sugars!

I stopped at the store on the way home and bought a carton of HUGE strawberries. They looked too good to pass up. I must have had some mental telepathy from you YH as I see you had some for breakfast. I am thinking they would taste good dipped in cool whip for a nice dessert tonight, especially since dh has been on an ice cream kick lately!

I also bought a big ham for Easter dinner. I called dh from the store and he talked me into getting a whole ham. It's 28 lbs and there's only the 4 of us for dinner!! We decided that ds1 will be taking lots of leftovers back to college with him.

So how come no one else uses your pool YH? That must be awesome to have it all to yourself. Ds1 has an iguana, pretty big size, and of course it's up to me and ds2 to take care of it while ds1 is away at college. Don't know what I'd do if it ever got out of its cage though.

Well I am off to enjoy this sunny warm day! D

Geez, thats a giant ham D ! Yay on your Curves workout Your netrition order sounds pretty decent-I gotta check them out when I have time. The pool-well there are 7 other occupied units - two guys - the rest is ladies. A couple of the gals think they are real princess'es so I guess they would not want to mess their hair or makeup or get a wrinkle from the sun, one is a gym brat, and the other dealing with sick parent so never here, another gal a med student so always studying. One guy I have never seen in the pool -the other is gay and sick. When visitors come thats when someone will turn up in the pool. So thats fine with me

Curves- they said to do 2 times only - but I am thinking I will do 3 when I am let loose, the first 3 xs an instructor is with you. They said 2 xs around 3xs a week, I dont know if I can go 3xs a week because of their hours. Yes, you with the drive and all - do the 3xs if you can

Your right- I had more energy when I left - just did 2 loads of wash !

I have not had cool whip in yrs. - how many calories /fat/carbs in that ? Now I can't stop thinking about a real Creampuff

Funny that none of those people use the pool but better for you. Does bf or s3 use it at all? I think I would be in it everyday if I had your weather!

Cool whip - per 2 tbs is 25 calories, 2g fat, 2g carbs. I only put a dollop on my plate or jello and close the container so I am not tempted to eat more. Splenda makes a 0 carb, 0 calorie flavored sweetener for coffee -- Hazelnut, Mocha, etc. I mix it in my cool whip for a little treat if I don't feel like making jello and it gives it a good choc or nutty flavor. Now a cream puff.......don't think I could have one of those but thanks for getting me to think of it!

Yes our Curves instructor said to do only 2 rotations but I go 3 because right now we are only going twice a week. Plus that is only 9 machines, you have more so you could probably do 2 rotations and be fine with that. I am hoping in the nicer weather we can go 3 times a week but as long as we go twice, I am happy. I think going today actually helped with my cramps and aches and pains. I really do enjoy it so much.

Good afternoon, Everyone--

You really went to town on that lc order, D! It all sounds so good--you should be stocked up on quite a few goodies for awhile now. The meringues sound great. I've just been using lc choc bars, so it's good to hear about an alternative that tastes good. Re the eggplant--you can just melt some cheese on the top. The thing about the eggplant is to get it well cooked so it's soft, and I don't have a clue about how to do that! Don't know how long you'd have to bake it, or if you have to do some sort of precooking. Good luck!

YH, we used to get those honey baked hams, too, when we lived in the desert. That's when my folks were down there, too, and the kids were little and we were healthy! I agree, they are delicious, and easy to fix. Sorry to hear you're having anxiety, but it is understandable considering your living arrangement. I used to have panic attack, and I am still claustrophobic, and take xanax when I have to sit on an airplane. Have to board before others, too. Can't stand crowds, etc. You have my sympathy--hope you feel better soon. You're not drinking too much caffeine, are you? That can raise your level of anxiety. Exercise usually helps me feel better, too.

I don't live very far from the beach, but it's not warm like yours! I do go down and sit in the car and watch people walk by or watch the kids play and fly kites at the beach. Santa Cruz has an old fashioned beach boardwalk carnival that is very colorful, and a drive and paved walk along the cliffs above the water. It's very scenic. We have quite a few tourists. No big lizards or wild parrots though! That sounds cool; I's like that!

Corrisann, I'm sorry to hear you've been down in the dumps lately! Have you been able to get some exercise in? That always helps. And I agree with Denise; the cold and reduced sunlight may be a big factor. Have you ever considered trying one of those special lights I hear can help people with SADS? Or do you think it's hormonal? I've been reading lately that the hormones aren't as bad as they thought and it's OK to take them for awhile, especially if you're younger. Of course they say soy is good for that, but I don't know... I'm still having hot flashes after 5 years, but at least they're not as bad as they used to be! Well, I imagine you will have a happy weekend, and I hope that will chase your blues away!

I felt better today, and had a pretty good eating day, but still ate a too much. I'm still fighting with myself to get back on the program 100%, but I am getting closer every day. I hope tomorrow I can go cheat-free! Take care, TTYL, T.

Hope your feeling better C, maybe you will perk up when the company comes and leaves I tried all the natural stuff for depression - off and on anti-depressants for 20 yrs. About 2 yrs. ago I just stopped - alot of them are weight gainers. I may try the new one cymbalta if i ever get to the dr.

Anxiety-panic attacks-20 plus yrs. of that. I cannot go up an escalator but i love roller coasters still. My big thing is a driving phobia that has developed ( freeway driving ) - its horrible-take the long way and takes forever. I ordered this fear of freeway book so maybe that will help. If I did not have to work, etc. I probably would have turned into agoraphobic. I missed a flight connection twice because i would not go up an escaltor and could not find the elevator fast enoughI love coffee and should cut back-but I have weaned myself to the 1/2 caf. stuff.

Bf may go in the pool with me on a Sunday if I coax him. S3 could care less, he goes to the beach to meet the tourist girls. I guess if you live here you are spoiled and the pool is no biggie. When the boys were little they were in the pool all the time - had a pool at the home I lost in the divorce/foreclosed.

Sounds like your getting back on track T

Have not seen s3 since he left Mon. afternoon for St. Patty's binge-its been nice and quiet but I still worry. He came to the dentist Mon. afternoon to get a blow up mattress out of my car trunk and no word since.

I ate too many snacks last nite - the 9 quaker cakes and the pretzel bowl-did not count pretzels.

You have a point there about the number of machines at Curves - to be honest I dont know if i could do 3 go arounds-have you noticed the little printing on the machines as to how many reps are beginner, intermediate, and advanced, I just saw that yesterday. I try to give it my all on the machines-there were 2 other ladies there yesterday who were just yacking and hardly moving

I am so busy at work and hate it-not much free time to play on internet. Helper is out another 4 wks. and no ot of course.

Good morning!

I hope your son is okay YH. It's hard not to worry about them, no matter how old they are. Maybe he is just sleeping it off at a friend's house?? Keep me updated. I worry too, even when they are not my own.

I snacked too much last night also. I think I had to taste just about everything I bought at Netrition. I left a few items unscathed but not much. But at least it was all low-carb or no-carb stuff. I tell ya, I get those hungry horrors for the first couple of days and then I am okay. Today should be better.

Yesterday's menu:

B-2 scrambled eggs, 2 tbs salsa, coffee
L-diced skinless chicken & 1 hardboiled egg in salad w/low-carb dressing (restaurant)
S-3 choc meringues, soy p'nut butter on bran cracker, apple-spice cookie (1 carb)
D-roasted chicken, broccoli, lettuce w/low-carb dressing, 2 strawberries w/2 tbs cool whip
S-2 choc meringues, 10 sl pepperoni, 3 sl cheddar cheese, bran cracker w/soy p'nut butter, 1 apple-spice cookie, 1/2 low-carb pita.

Up at 5:30 am today. Ds2 has a career fair about 3 hours from here and needed to get to school early to catch the bus there. Dh went back to bed but I'm up and having my coffee. Will maybe catch a nap later on as I have a sorority mtg tonight and will probably be out late.

I never noticed any printing on the machines but I will look the next time I go. I think as long as you feel you had a good workout, it doesn't matter how many times you go thru the rotation. That's the beauty of it, go at your own pace. My friend does it half-heartedly. I am a little more motivated. There are some ladies there that are slow and others that are so pumped up! I hope to someday get to that point. Do you check rates? I've been hovering around 20. Yesterday I got mine up to 25, which is 80%; they said that was optimum for my age. My friend gets her to 14 and doesn't like to go higher. So everyone is different. I figure, any exercise is better than none at all.

Teresa, I think I will treat that eggplant like I do my stuffed peppers. Par-boil it first till it's soft and then stuff it and bake it in the oven to finish it off with a crispy top. I will buy some feta cheese for the topping and maybe some other kind of cheese too since feta doesn't melt up good. This will be my low-carb side dish for Easter dinner. Dh said he would like to try it out too. I can't wait. Thanks for the idea!

I thought the ocean would be warm where you live, T. I looked up the map of California. Santa Cruz doesn't look too northern but I guess it is a lot more north than where YH is. You still have me and C beat for warm weather. I have never been to Calif. Dh went once on a business trip before we were married. I hope to go someday. I would like to go to Fisherman's Wharf and that area...San Francisco. I don't know that I could take the traffic of L.A. but would also like to see the sights there....Rodeo Dr., Graumann's Chinese Theatre and all the touristy stuff. Oh and the wine country. Obviously too many things far apart to do it all in one trip...but maybe someday. Are you near Carmel and Salinas? I have read they are beautiful places to visit. I used to travel a lot but haven't done it since my health got bad. I am hoping that by this time next year, I will have lost enough weight that we could take a fun trip to celebrate our 10th wedding anniv. Maybe Californ-ee is the place we oughta be!

I grew up with a built-in pool. We had a 24' above-ground pool, extra large, for the boys in New Hampshire and brought it here to Nebraska and set it up for 3 yrs but then we moved from Hyannis to Ashby about 6 yrs ago and never set it up again. I miss it a lot.

Well gals...it is mid-week and how are we doing with our eating plans? I think I need to get a little stricter these next few days or I am not going to see a loss this week. I really would like to get to a 20 lb loss and I am only 2 lbs away from that so I think I can do it this week, can't I??? I hope!

Have a good Wednesday everyone! D

I was doing fairly well this week until last nite BF was home again sick and that always seems to make it harder. His back/legs very bad then blames stress of s3 as the cause, cmon-he was in pain way before s3 moved in, yet he has never been to a dr. since we have been together. He calls in sick alot-he was crying in pain last nite and i told him you really have to see a dr. and start somewhere, then screams at me and says what the h can they do for me then tells me that I need get him in somewhere immediately. Huh ? I told him to go to the emergency but he does not want to pay the 200 co pay. Now i cook a dinner that I should not have for comfort.

Wed.

am-plum,pineapple, and strawberries

lunch-salad and hb egg
drink potion

dinner- kielbasa amd mashed potatoes( real butter/milk ) - too much !
1-fruiti and quaker cakes

exercise - none - layed in bed after big dinner.

I hope i did not blow the whole week with the dinner. Angry with myself now.

I know you just had to sample the netrition orderbut I think you will be ok and see the 2 pounds away from 20 mark. Try and be good the next 2 days ! I know you can do it

My heart rate at curves is 17-18, they said this was good for me and my age, it got higher and the gal said to slow it down, I dont think they want me to have the big one there but i question this. I could go higher but not sure if i should. I will be 56 this May.

How is everyone else doing ? I am now dreading and rethinking buying the ham, I think I would have to stay completely away from it.

Tonite is my haircolor appt. which usually takes forever as she overbooks but i can't complain since she gives me a break compared to her normal prices.

hello gal's!!
Sun is shining Course snow is blowing in from the plains & Nebraska tomorrow.....did you get dumped on again D??
After this I am laying out my menu for the weekend & heading to the store. My coffee pot died this a.m. & my carafe died Sun so I have to stop somewhere & replace 'em. Am so dreading this weekend---the whole plan of things is so complicated.
Sorry you ate the "comfort" meal YH. That's the kind of thing I have trouble with. And of course after am always sorry I indulged....hope bf is feeling better. So many men will avoid the doc's til they collapse--macho crap I think--but then they want you to baby them???? Oh they are such a trip!!!
Weighted this morning & am up 2lbs. Don't know why I go near the scale it just never makes sense!! I've been on track so I'm trying to shake it off emotionally.
Glad to hear you 2 are doing so well with Curves!! It will really speed along your loss & toning!
We had a 15' above ground when ds was young & I just loved it!! Was worth all the work & upkeep to me! Have missed it ever since & that's been about 12yrs. A friend use to live right next to me in a condo complex which had 2 pools & we would exercise in them about 4nites a week.
Was so great!!! They were busy with mom's & kids during the day but there was only us in the evening so that was great. So YH I guess you can tell that D & I are jealous!!
Course it's hard to hear about wild parrots & walks on the boardwalk & sitting by the ocean too....LOL!!!!
Decided to to just put out a variety of cereals, fruit, yougurt, bagels for bft's. Fri nites dinner will be something from the crockpot since I have to work all day & should be walking in the door right about the time they come in too. Am doing that ham gal's---at least it's nc.
Will make a green salad, buy a fruit salad, maybe buy a potato salad(bought won't tempt me), ds has to have the greenbean casserole or it's not a holiday. Think that should cover it. My mom said she'll bake a cake & bring it. Am trying to not have any of the starch stuff I love that would get me in such trouble. Think that's enough?? would you be happy & feel like it was a holiday meal if you came to my house Sun??
Well I need to get on with it. Will be checking back in later today. Eat healthy & smile alot today!!!

What time do you want me there on Sunday, C?? I think your menu sounds great. We are having ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, salad, Teresa's stuffed eggplant, deviled eggs and dinner rolls. I will make choc cream pie for one dessert (ds2's fav) and probably let dh pick out a froz pie that he and ds1 like. My only temptations will be the dinner rolls but I've been good about passing up bread, so I think I will be okay with ham, eggplant, deviled eggs and salad. I hate green beans and only make them for dh and ds1. The cold cereals and bagels sounds very easy and do-able, as does the crockpot meal. Sounds like you have some very good plans and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful and stress-free holiday. Planning ahead does help so you're wise to get that all wrapped up now.

YH, don't let one meal do you in for the whole week. Just get right back on track today. Might be a good time to think about stopping at Curves today or tomorrow because I know that does boost my energy level and makes me feel better emotionally, kind of lifts my spirit. Do you have a chart with the heart rates at your Curves? We have one hanging at our Curves and it lists your age and goes across to show what is 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80% and so on. I was told that 80% is optimum and you should not go higher, but anything within that range is good. I normally am in the 70-75% range but just went up to 80% on Tuesday. And of course that was only your 2nd time, I think you build up as you go along and find where you are comfortable at. Like I said, my friend is comfortable at a heart rate of 14 and doesn't intend to go higher. To me, whether you are huffing and puffing or not, exercise is exercise! As far as Easter goes, have the ham but make sure to have a couple of sides that are "legal" for you and fill up on those first and then have just a little of the ham. You can do it! I hope things settle down with your bf but I do agree with C....men! They are just big babies sometimes. I would love to see one handle labor or cramps -- they'd probably keel over and die!

I am in the zone, ladies. I'm down another 2 lbs this morning so I hit my 20 lb mark. But I will wait till Saturday for my "official" weigh-in as I'm hoping it will be more than 2 lbs by then (and hopefully not less). This was the first day I woke up that my ankles were not swollen. I'm sure by the end of the day they will be, but at least I started the day out on a good note.

My mtg last night was great and very uplifting. I am president this year. We had election of officers for next year and guess what, they unanimously voted me president for next year too! The motion was made, seconded and they all quickly said they wanted nominations to cease because they didn't even want someone to run against me, just wanted me to fill the office again. Made me feel really good.

Dh and I watched a marathon of Top Chef yesterday (what am I, nuts or something to watch a marathon FOOD show??!!) So then I was craving pizza for lunch. I ended up using one low-carb pita and splitting it open to make 2 pizzas which I topped with just a dab of tomato sauce, pepperoni, chopped tomato and mozzarella cheese and broiled in the oven till crispy. Yum. I did better with my snacking yesterday but of course, I was out of the house all night so I didn't have time to forage around for food before bedtime and made sure I didn't eat when I got home from my mtg.

Yesterday's menu:

B-1 scrambled egg w/spinach, 2 veggie sausage links, coffee
S-2 meringues (0 carbs)
L-low-carb pizza, lettuce w/low-carb dressing, low-carb pudding (1 carb), 2 strawberries
D-2 turkey burgers w/tomato, onion & honey mustard on low-carb pita, lettuce w/low-carb dressing, soy p'nut butter on bran cracker
S-2 pickles

Dh and I are off to dental appts this morning. We are going out to lunch and I've already warned him that I will be eating on plan since I don't want to lose this 2 lb loss! Or gain it, if you know what I mean.

YH, go out and swim a couple of laps for me. We have had gorgeous weather so don't you be blaming that snow on us Nebraskans, C!! And don't you be jinxing us to get more either!

Hi Teresa Hope you are doing well and getting back on track with your plan too.

Have a wonderful day ladies!

P.S. Corrisann, don't let that 2 lbs get you frustrated. I am funny...the first part of the week I will stay the same or be up a lb or two, and then all of a sudden, towards the end of the week, it drops. So that might be happening with you. Stay on plan and give it another couple of days and check back. For me, it helps to get on the scale everyday. Makes me tighten my belt if I see those numbers moving in the wrong direction! But some people do better to weigh in only once a week. Anyway....keep at it. Your hard work will show up eventually.

Oh I bet anything that you will be looking darn good come June, YH!! Let those beer-bellies eat their 's out when they see how slim and trim you are stepping off that plane!

Glad to hear s3 has been around. At least you know he's okay. And great that bf has a dr appt. Hopefully they will figure out what is wrong with his legs/back. Hope it is nothing serious.

So, still a redhead, hmmm? She couldn't talk you into going back to blonde? Or did she talk you into staying red? Is that the hair color in your picture? I like that style/color.

I belong to a nationwide sorority, international and in Canada too. We are a service organization and our particular chapter meets twice a month from September to May of each year. We raise money doing benefits, fundraisers, events, selling Christmas greenery, etc., and then we donate $$ to charitable organizations, give out high school scholarships, run several blood drives a year, buy books for the local library, do a children's story hour once a month, send care pkgs to service people overseas, trash pick-ups along the highway, prepare and serve high school students breakfast before their achievement tests. Things like that. There are 14 of us gals in our group, youngest is 29, oldest is in her mid-60's. It keeps me pretty busy and I do love it because we do a lot of good for the community.

Dentist -- My mouth is still sore. I have peridontal disease from the Diabetes so a cleaning is always heavy-duty for me and way up under the gums -- painful and throbbing for awhile afterwards. Now they want me to come back every 3 months for cleanings plus they gave me a prescription for an antibiotic rinse to help fight this problem. Dh had a cavity filled and was supposed to get a cleaning too but the receptionist messed up and didn't book him with the hygenist, just the dentist. So he has to go back in a couple of weeks.

We stopped for lunch at a really nice Mexican restaurant. Dh munched away on chips and salsa while we waited for our food but I drank my water with lemon and didn't have any at all. I was very good and had a chicken taco salad and did not eat the big taco shell it came in, just ate the lettuce, tomato, onions, chicken and sour cream. It was probably good that my mouth was throbbing so I didn't mind passing up all those goodies. But the salad was delicious so I was very glad to have that. After lunch, we did a ton of shopping and ran errands and got home a little after 4 pm. I am tired.

We're having those Jennie-O turkey loaves for supper. Not my favorite, but my feet are hurting me from all the walking around, so I wanted something I could just pop in the oven and forget.

Hope everyone had a great day!

D

That's wonderful work you do with the sorority-sounds fun and rewarding. I use to go to a shelter that does not gas the animals and take the dogs that had to be i cages because of no room in pens on walks. I wish I had more time. It was a heartbreaker tho, so many abused unwanted animals because of humans.

Dentist- I go every 3 months too for cleaning and i have the rinse called Prevident ( script) but they sell at the office. The deep cleanings are not fun.

The hair lady is keeping me away from the blondes- she thinks it will age me (washed out look)as I am fair skinned, don't tan anymore really. I was a blonde on blonde for years but had a tan full time plus wore more makeup. I wear very little makeup now ( if any ) liner, mascara, lip gloss (work) weekend or home - none. I am finding the older i get that less looks better. Do you gals wear makeup? My hair is a bit longer now-more of a burgundy red-color changes very much if I use the pool so I never know what the color will end up at. Hair looks better than the pic - that was coming out of the ocean, no comb look. Anyway we penciled in maybe blonde for next appt. which would be a big deal bleaching out the color now to start that process. Everyone here looks fair skinned to me based on the pics.

I was good last nite - I had just 1 fruitie for the snack and did some callanetics. My mom died last Good Friday so maybe thats why im not to hepped up on the Easter plans.

I dread work today - when i lived up north i recall always having Good Friday off.

Good luck with the company C !

Hope your doing ok T !

Glad to hear you did so well with eating yesterday, YH. You did much better than I did with snacking, although my sugars were low again last night so I was trying to eat something (salami & cheese on pita) that would raise them but not as much as a cookie would. I really don't want to get into the habit of eating GS cookies when my sugars are low, so I was determined to stay away from them last night.

Yesterday's menu:

B-1 scrambled egg, salsa, coffee
L-taco salad (no shell)
D-turkey loaf, broccoli, lettuce w/low-carb dressing, low-carb apple-spice cookie
S-2 meringues, 9 olives, 2 pickles, 2 sl salami & 1 sl cheese on 1/2 low-carb pita

I'm sorry about your mother. Dh's dad passed away around Christmas so that is always a hard time of year for him.

Chlorhexedine Gluconate is the name of the antibiotic rinse I was prescribed. Had to get it at the pharmacy, I don't think they sell anything at my dentist. Maybe it is just the "chemical" name for the same thing you are using?? This one says it may cause tooth discoloration so I'm worried about that. I rinse and then I take my toothbrush and go over my front teeth, just in case. They had me buy one of those spin-brushes, as they said that is better for me than a regular toothbrush. We got one for dh too since I'm sure they'll tell him the same thing when he goes next time.

I have fair skin too. I don't go for the total blonde. I like to have light brown hair that is streaked with blonde. I bet that would look awesome on you. Wouldn't give you the faded look if you had some soft brown coloring as a base and then highlighted with blonde, heavy or light depending on how blonde you want to be. I go lighter in the summers, darker in the winters. (I used to be a hairdresser many, many moons ago).

Yes, I wear makeup but not around the house. If I am going out, I put makeup on. I wear foundation, blush, eyeliner and mascara. No eye shadow or lipstick unless I am going out somewhere very fancy, which isn't too often.

That must have been fun walking the dogs. I think that would make me sad too. I watch Animal Cops once in awhile and it's so sad and horrifying how some people treat their pets.

I got on the scale this morning and I was the same as yesterday so I think I will hit Curves today. Would like to lose another lb or 2 by tomorrow if possible, so I need to shake things up....literally!

Dh went to work this morning. I have to meet with a gal to discuss After Prom when I get back from Curves and won't be home till around 1:30 or 2 pm. I think he's getting tired of sitting at home so he said he may as well work 1/2 a day. Ds2 has the day off due to Good Friday. Ds1 has school today but is coming home tonight from college after work. Both boys have Monday off so we should have a nice family wkd. Tonight dh will make mussels in a garlic and wine sauce. They will have their's over spaghetti and I will have mine over soybean angel hair pasta and pray that it doesn't cause a weight gain!! I have not found a "so-called" low-carb pasta yet that doesn't raise my sugars and give me a weight-gain. I may have some broccoli made as a backup in case it doesn't taste good. Soybean pasta. It doesn't sound very good. We shall see.

Well I imagine C will be busy with her company this wkd. Teresa, what are you up to? Haven't heard from you in a couple of days. Hope everything is going well with you.

Happy Good Friday!

----Denise
