Good morning,

I have lost 1.5 of the 3 lbs I gained. I'm still retaining water. I have been putting crystal light to go packets in my water bottle. Maybe that is the problem. Today I'm going to drink straight water.

My husband went to the college to run stairs this morning. After he left I thought I should have gone with him and walked the stairs. Just doing the treadmill isn't cutting it I guess. I need to mix it up a little.

Carolinagirl, good for you going to curves. Keep it up and you will really see those inches start to come off.

Have you tried just watering down the crystal lite packages. I only use maybe one pack per 3cups or more in my water bottle. Some flavours lend themselves better to this. I do find that I have to drink a lot of plain water along with any crystal lite to see a difference other wise I just maintain.

Good that you have lost some of that gain.

Good Morning All, Glad to hear you're losing again Jazlyn. It is always such a great feeling to see the scale move in the right direction. I don't understand how we gain when we are sticking to a plan. I was up 1/2 lb yesterday but that was gone this morning. I guess I'm just impatient. If I could just lose 10 more I would be satisfied. I am enjoying Curves. Going again today.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning all. I am down 3 more of the evil pounds I had put back on so very happy with that. I went out for lunch yesterday with a group of lowcarbers from another forum and had a spinach salad. I found the dressing rather sweet and was worried that I had might have had some issues with it but I guess not.

I was so tired when I got home as I walked and walked everywhere yesterday. I really need to get out more often not only for the exercise but to see that the city actually changes from time to time. One of the reasons I ended up walking so much is that two of the stores I wanted to go to were no longer in the location that I had remembered. Then I went to two other locations for similar stores and again those stores had either moved or closed. Don't drive and it wasn't worth paying bus fare for only 1 or 2 stops between each store but by the time it all added up I had been walking/standing for about 4hrs in total.

Momof3: Sounds like you got in a lot of exercise. Congrats on the 3 lb loss. That's a lot. Wish I could drop 3. I'm still the same this morning. My left arm and neck are really sore from working out so I'm going to skip today. I do plan to go for a long walk on the beach. Hope you have a great LC day.

Momof3, I haven't tried watering down my crystal light. I think I'll try that. I've had nothing but water for 2 days and still retaining water.

Carolinagirl, lucky you living by the beach. I hope you have a nice walk.

We went out last night to one of my favorite restaurants. It has tons of yummy, high carb foods and deserts to die for but I had a grilled chicken salad.

I did my 2nd couch to 5k workout this morning. My legs are like jello. I didn't think I was going to make it that last minute of running.

Have a great Friday!

Everytime I had a lot of water back to my diet it takes until days3-5 before I notice a difference. I am copying and pasting something I wrote on a different board:

Okay a bit about me. I lost 120lbs last year in total 60lbs with Atkins and 60lbs with meat/egg. Then in Oct I regained 8lbs and pretty much have held steady there for the whole time going up and down the same 2-3lbs. Now I realize that my consistant treating myself to cocoa treats and extra (a lot extra) salad dressing certainly wasn't helping the situation. However even when I wasn't treating myself I was still seeing the same 2-3lbs up and downs.

Then I discover a substance commonly known as water. I had heard a bit about it before and did make some pathic attempts to drink it but could never really follow through for a variety of reasons (all self absorbed) however 3 days ago I decided to force myself to really try hard to drink 8 glasses a day on top of any other liquid I consume.

On March 21 I was at 273lbs and today I am at 265lbs. This is an all time low for me.

So if any of you are facing unexpected water shortages in your community it may be due to me, hehe.

Bottoms up!!!

Now that being said I still struggle to drink my water. I actually don't like the texture of plain water in my mouth. I can drink a lakes worth of crystal lite or coffee but water feels weird to me. Don't understand it. It takes me having to gag down about 4-5 glasses before I can actually just drink anymore without getting sick feeling.

Momof3, I hate water too. I have to gag it down. But I've been doing it all day long. Yet I'm still retaining water.

I am disappointed with my weight loss. It seems like I'm losing nothing or losing and gaining the same half pound. I've been really sticking to plan, drinking water, and exercizing. What else is there?

I get discouraged too. I also drink the water and all the other stuff, but it is like the same 2 lbs come and go, come and go. I wish I knew why. I'm like you Jazlyn, "What else is there?" I'm beginning to think I'm not going to lose any more. Could it be our bodies are adjusting to the weight we have lost? I just don't know, but it sure is discouraging.

Any ideas, Ladies?

Same thing here but for me the reason I stick to it for the most part is that I feel better. No bloating, etc. Also a lot of the time even when the scale doesn't show a loss my clothing fits differently so I think something is going on. Case in point: I bought two pairs of pants that fit nicely. Unfortunately put on about 5lbs and had a misarable time trying to get it off(took months and months losing and regaining the same 5lbs) but decided to retry the pants even at the heavier weight( I am sucker for punishment) and they actually were too big for me to even think of wearing without looking weird. So go figure. Not sure why that happens but I am thinking that the body is using the extra weight as a source of energy to move the fat around.

I would watch the salt mostly. I had to cut out the pork rinds months ago because I would bloat majorly if I had a lot of salt. Cheese is also something I have to limit. For the first year I could eat and eat cheese with no problem but now I have to be really careful so I barely buy any as I am a cheese-aholic. The same with other foods like nuts, hotdogs, cream cheese, pretty much anything with protein other than eggs(I can eat those all the time). In the beginning during the initial big weight loss I had no problem but now I need to watch intake or else I stall and even gain a bit.

Carolinagirl, I am now trying little things like giving up crystal light for straight water and limiting myself to one cup of coffee per day. I am going to try to work out harder too. Something HAS to work. I may start counting calories just to see wherre I'm at.

I am down a lb this morning (finally back at my siggy weight) I need to lose 7 lbs this week to be at my goal. I doubt that will happen but at least I'm not gaining.

Momof3, maybe I'll start cutting out certain foods to see if that helps. I don't eat much cheese but I did eat salami 2 days in a row. I might also try meat and eggs for a while. I know I'm getting desperate.

Hello Ladies, I think it is harder for me in the summer. Yes, I'm more active but I partake of the alcohol more in the summer and we all know the calories in those drinks. Who can go to the beach and not drink? Not me. I think my food calories are low enough but drinking a few times a week is killing the weight loss.

Hope everyone is doing better than me.

p.s. the beach was great today

My house flooded night before last and I've been in a huge mess. I'm still on plan though and drinking water. I can't get to my treadmill so I didn't exercize yesterday and I'm trying to think of something else I can do today. I might go to the track and walk.

I'm down another .5 lb. I'll take what I can get at this point. I never thought it would be this slowwwww.

Jazlyn, What happened? How did your house flood? I'm so sorry. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Weight loss is slow. I'm up a pound and 1/2 this morning. These same 2 pounds are killing me!!

More later.

Hi everyone,

Carolina girl, the timer broke off our hose and the water ran all night and flooded the basement. We are still in a huge mess. I hope you have fun on your trip.

I have lost 2.5 lbs in the last 2 days and I missed 4 days of exercize. Go figure. This morning I got stuff cleared away from my treadmill so I walked/ran on it and then did my shapely secrets dvd. I am going to walk/run every other day and do my SS dvd every day.

The SS dvd says I should lose a size in 14 days. I'm giving it a month. If I can lose a size in a month I will be happy.

I'm still on plan and made it through my anniversary without cheating although I had a couple of temtations. I had stead and salad. I passed on the au gratin potatoes that came with it and didn't even blink at my husband's huge piece of carrot cake.

I did both of my exercizes this morning and I'm right on track. Off to drink some more water.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am pretty much back at my lowest weight 265lbs. Tired of losing and gaining the same 5-8lbs. When I think about it I know I could have been down another 70+lbs if I just stopped screwing around and really stick to this woe.
