Hey Gals!

Well, I am doing pretty ok with the diet. Haven't been too strict with it. I was at 157.6 this morning. Did really well all day. Although, at dinner I had half of a red potato and a piece of Ezekial bread. Felt like I was splurging. Hope it doesn't hurt me too bad tomorrow.

Stayed real busy with work this week. I am whooped. Glad the weekend is here.

Had free tickets to the comedy club tonight. Didn't get to go. Kinda sucks. Was looking forward to it. Although, I am really looking forward to going to bed and falling asleep a little earlier than normal.

Ezekial bread. I like it. Makes pretty darn good toast. It is nice and dense. Doesn't taste too grainy. If it had a little caraway seed in it, it would be great as a Ruben!

sorry I have not been on much

Hi Girls

Sorry I haven't been on much. Been kinda busy around here. Now my house needs my attention. I have laundry galore to do. There goes a fun filled weekend.

My bug bite is getting better and the rash is resolving. I am glad about that. I scheduled myself an appointment with a new Primary Dr. My appointment was yesterday. I woke up last at 0230 with a pounding headache. My appointment was at 0800. I took some advil and sat on the sofa with a heated rice bag on my head and it kept getting worse. By 0600 i am puking my guts out I manage to get a shower and get dressed and head over to the Dr's office. I had to pull over and puke some more. (lol some school kids were walking to school and here I am beside my car retching) hahahaha not a lovely site to see first thing in the morning. I get to the Dr's office and retch in the waiting room bathroom. I retch in the exam room and she says "oh my your having a severe migraine attack" They take me to the treatment room and i get a shot of phenergan in the butt! owww that hurt! I retch some more Then i am so sleepy that i can't even walk. Call my dh and he gets off work to take me home. They gave me some prescriptions and he goes and gets them filled and comes back and takes me home. I retch some more in his truck. My dh feeds me some maxalt (my new migraine medicine) and tucks me into bed. I have had heachaches like this before but never this severe. I always thought it was just a bad headache and just treated it myself, but i guess they were migraines all along. what a way to make an impression on my new Dr. Oh she was so good too! She even took my blood pressure when it is usually the nurse that does that! And she took me to the treatment room and tucked me in and rubbed my back! Can you believe a Dr did that? She is a keeper!

So anyways i was going to be on plan yesterday and i guess i sort of was since i couldn't keep anything down. So now as of today my starting weight is at 208 and i am going on plan today for sure. I figured i got a good ab workout yesterday and won't need to work those for a week hahahah. I am going to go get on the eliptical machine and work arms after i finish this post. I know we will be going to the farmer's market today to get some fresh produce. Then housework!

You ladies are all doing so wonderful. I am impressed and motivated by you all. Stacy, you are so close to goal! You must feel stoked about that huh? If i could just get to 180 i would be sooo happy. I know i will though. I got down to 135ish about 7 years ago and i know i can do it again.

Betty Lou, I am sad to hear about your mom. I wish there was something i could do to help. I will keep you and your mom in my prayers and I am here to lend you a good shoulder to cry on and you can bend my ear anytime. What course of action is your mom going to do? Is she going to do more treatments?

Hi Ladies!

Stacy, don't you love Ezekial bread? I adore it--so much so that I have to steer clear of it. Once I get started, there's no stopping...

Speaking of eating control...I messed up two days in a row. I carb loaded in the worst way. That said, I think I needed a little break, and I feel like I'm ready to get back to Atkins.

So glad to hear your bite issue is resolving Eve. That new Dr. of yours sound terrific! I'm so happy you've landed on a way to control what must be awful headaches.

Hurricane Ike is headed our way, and we're hunkering down to ride out the tropical storm winds and rain we should experience soon. I hope the power stays on and the tornadoes stay away.

I'm very happy and peaceful today, and for some strange reason, I'm getting very excited about the upcoming holidays. I'm not usually a big celebration person, but I'm welling up with the spirit. It will be fun to buy a nice outfit in something smaller than a 14 this year.

Hey. This gives me an idea. Would you ladies like to make a pact to pick out holiday outfits we adore in sizes to which we aspire, and model them in a few months? (We can search in catalogs and then get the outfit or something similar when we are near or at goal.) Sound like fun? The only part missing would be a get-together.

I am totally in on that one! I have always wanted to buy myself a nice cashmere sweater, nice blue jeans, and a pair of low heel boots. Simple outfit, but one that I have never bought for myself because I have thought that it would look better on me smaller rather than bigger.

Isn't it amazing how you can overload on carbs for a couple of days and then be ready (and also wanting) to start eating correct again? It blows my mind.

159.0 this morning. I figure it is water weight from dinner last night. But, man, it was so good. And, I know that what I ate was not too terribly high carb- just higher carb than normal.

Been watching CNN. Keeping up with Hurricane Ike. Absolutely amazing. Not in a fun way. Wow! I just got off the phone with a guy in Knoxville and he said that gas prices are $4.69 and expected to go up to $6.00. What a crock.

Eve, holy crap on the migraine!! I don't envy you. I get those every now and then. But, never to the extent of the one you had. You sure did work those abs good, though! Glad the bite is finally clearing up. I was telling my hubby this morning about a dream that I had about bug bites a couple of nights ago. Couldn't figure out where that would have come from. I bet it was cuz of you.

I am so excited about shopping for that holiday outfit. That is a first. Lol!

Liz, I hope all is well down where u r at. I have been seeing footage on the news regarding Hurricane Ike. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. I think that is a fabulous idea about picking out an outfit and then modeling it. Are we talking about christmas time? What holiday are you thinking of?

I hope it is just water weight gain for ya Stacy. In that case, it should drop off in a day or two. I have never had ezekial bread. I don't think i want to if it is that good. I love artisan breads. I see where they are talking about the gas hike prices on the news "Blame spikes, on Ike" is the new saying i guess. I better go fill up my car today before it gets too high.

Okay so i did my eliptical for 30 minutes and worked my arms with weights. I think i will go ahead and work abs a little today even though it hurts so bad when i cough. My thinking is, lol i will never get any sorer than what i am right now.

I had scrambled eggs and low carb bread for breakfast. Coffee with 1/2.

not really hungry for lunch but i think i will have tuna fish on celery. and of course lots of water.

I was going to go to the farmer's market but it started raining like crazy. I don't feel like trudging around in the rain today.

So this new outfit? We doing the whole thing including accessories? Like jewelry and shoes too? It sounds way fun. I am in fasure!

Hey Betty Lou, how you and your mom doing? I keep thinking about you two. Hope your hangin in there as best as you can. You two seem very close. It is great that you have that kind of relationship with your mom. Your hubby must be a wonderful support for you. Let us know what we can do and if you just need someone to talk to we are here for ya.

I am feeling much better today. More like myself. I have one day under my belt and boy does that feel goooooooood!!! Y i ever cheat is beyond me. We woke up late today, soooo we are going out for breakfast. I will probably have a lc omlet or something like that.

I was working so hard on my laundry yesterday when my dryer went kaput. Oh well life is never smooth is it? Dh is going to fix it. Darn it! I have my eye on these new red washer and dryer set. Looks like i will have to wait for those. I remember when i used to hang em out on the clotheline. Well that ain't happening again!

Okay girls my dh is out of the shower and we are off like a herd of turtles. I plan on exercising when i get back from breakfast and shopping. Will let you know how my day goes later You all be well and take are.

Did someone say new outfit! Hell ya, I'm in on that. I will most definitely (well hopefully) need a new outfit by then. Just went through my closet the other day and found some clothes I could get into that I haven't worn in about 2 years. Everything else I own is too big . I was in Wal-Mart last weekend and almost lost my capris. Now wouldn't that have been a site! My son thought it was hillarious. I am down to size 22. I am tall though (5'9.5") so at least I have that to my advantage. Before I started the diet it was getting to the point I coudn't find clothing even at Lane Bryant. That really sucked. Even though 22 is still large, at least I can find clothes now. I would so be happy with a size 16.

Well, Hurricane Ike showed up here during the night. Well, I think it has now been dubbed a tropical storm. You wouldn't think being in southeast Missouri that we would see so much of it. My yard has quite a few large pine trees. The wind was blowing so hard, the trees were even swaying a little lower to the base. It was starting to freak me out. I have never seen a tree sway that low before. We woke up to the electricity being out too. That part was kind of nice though because the whole family (including 3 Italian Greyhounds) were all laying in bed. What a sight! I ended up reading one of my son's books to him. It was actually pretty nice. Now, the wind is still blowing, but not too bad.

Oh, I almost forgot! I was able to go for a walk yesterday. I walked 1.15 miles! The most amazing part of it though is the fact my chest DID NOT hurt! I am so freakin' happy about this. Because of my chest hurting, I haven't walked in some time. Now I have no excuse to not exercise. So, my sister and I are going to start walking when we get off work.

Eve, sorry to hear about the migrain. I have never experienced one before and surely do not want to. Your doctor sounds absolutely wonderful. I have never heard of a doctor having such good bedside manner.

Liz, I hope everything is good your way. We have also been watching CNN. They have had such informative coverage of Hurricane Ike. I know we had the aftereffects here, but I can't even imagine what it must be like for your family.

Betty, sorry to hear about your mom. If you need anything like a shoulder or an ear, I'm here. I will be praying for her. Keep up your strength girl.

Stacy, the outfit you want sounds awesome! That is the type of outfit which will never go out of style. It's a classic.

Well, I'm in the same boat as Eve with laundry. Guess I better go get it started.

Chow ladies!
Carrie

Eve, would it help if I told you that I have laundry piled up to the ceiling, some of it wet because my dryer also decided that it is time to take a break? My hubby had it all kinds of torn apart yesterday. It was kinda sad to see. Today he is going to buy a belt for it. I hope it works. I have had this dryer since it was brand new (probably 12 years ago). I love it. That and I don't have the money to go and buy the one that I would love to have.

So, we are all gonna buy new outfits? I love it. I began looking at sweaters online last night. I have decided to go with either a V-neck or a turteneck. I will make that final decision when it comes time to make the purchase.

I am retaining serious water. I feel icky. The scale puts me at 160. Sigh... I need to figure out how to make sure I keep up with my water when at home. Also fighting constipation. (Sorry, TMI) Blech.

Next weekend we are going camping. With the kids. And the dogs. And possibly a couple of friends. Should be fun. We are doing that for our son's birthday. The trees are beginning to change colors. It should be beautiful.

Alrighty, gonna work on getting my week in order. Talk to ya in a bit!

Campaign campaign campaign! I know it is important stuff, but sheesh i am so sick of hearing about it and also i think my dryer woulda been fixed already if a certain dh would get off the sofa! Ohhhhhhh boy he has been itchin for a fight all day, i can tell. He is getting kinda smart mouthed. Ohhhhhhh but that's okay cuz we women have our ways of gettin even don't we?

I put a roast in the oven with potatoes, celery, onions and would have been carrots but my dh said we had some at home and didn't (we were out shopping). I plan on just eating the celery and beef. Do u think that if something is cooked with something startchy for instance, the potatoes that it would soak into the beef and i would be getting carbs by secondary intention? I sure hope not.

We went for breakfast and i had a southwestern sizzlin skillet breakfast and i gave my dh the hashbrowns and told them to nix the tortilla wraps. We went to Wal-mart (Carrie so glad you didn't lose your capris) and did some grocery shopping. I go to walmart cuz it is so much cheaper and I am a tight wad, I could sqeeze the poop outta the eagle on a one dollar bill. Nahhhhh not really hahahahahah. But my sister could!!!!

Liz how are things your way??? I hope you are all staying safe and dry!!!!!!. I am glad i live by the mountains. Course we have the snow and long winters to put up with. Carrie hope you are safe too.

I keep thinking about an outfit. Not sure what kind i want, of it is going to be a dressy one or a casual chic one. I looked at shoes on Zappos. I love that site. Looking for a sexy ankle strap number. Those would look cute in some boot cut jean or a nice dress.

Wonder what happened to Paula and Teresa?????? Sure hope pop in soon. Okay i gabbed enuf. TTYL

Oh yeah Stacy, I take metamucil everyday. That really helps. Course you need to drink water with it. I use the pills, less mess and much easier.

breakfast: Southwest Sizzlin Skillet breakfast not one big fat carb except for the green peppers and onions

Snack: homemade latte (I have a mukka express cappicino maker by bialetti and i just love it) with heavy whipping cream (i added water so it wouldn't be so thick) with toroni sugar free chocolate syrup and oh less than 1/4 cup peanuts to munch on.

I kinda skipped lunch. I had a late breakfast

Supper: Roast beef with a few celery and onions on top and a garden salad with caesar dressing. Very small amount of white wine (only 1 carb i think)

Lots of water today.

eliptical 30 minutes
abs probably 20 minutes if that
worked chest with weights

Okay two days under my belt. I am going to stop lookin for a mass exodus of weight loss. This time I am going day by day and noticing how i feel and move. I always think i move better on low carb. I will weigh myself every Friday morning. I plan on going to Vegas in November with the girls in my family. It should be fun, but i want to not weigh as much as i do now. Give me hell girls if i start slip'n. I promise i wont get mad

Hope all is well with you ladies ttyl

Alrighty, my girls! I went and bought a pair of Levi's that are a size 10!! They are the stretchy kind, but I can zip them up and wear them- if I want to. They really are a little too tight to wear now, but they are where I want to be. One of the things that I use to do was buy a pair of jeans that were about a size too small so that I had something to work towards. I haven't done that in awhile and decided that was the kickstart I needed. Also, I got out the one pair of jeans that I did keep from once upon a time. And had my sweetie take a picture. Here you go. This is where I came from. I am almost where I am going. I just need to commit myself to getting there. Not too far to go...

P.S.
Ignore the laundry in the background.

Just in here real quick between Brandon's homework and cooking dinner.

I walked 2 miles today without taking a break, no chest pain and not getting out of breath! I AM SO HAPPY! I am going to try to do it again tomorrow. Oh, girls, you have no idea how elated I am. I just had to share with people who would understand.

I'll be back when I get more time. I just want to say thanks to all of you for being so supportive. You all help me so much.

Love ya!

Wowzers Stacy!!!! that jeans pic is really something. Can you believe that you wore those not so very long ago? Doesn't it feel great. I had an idea. Now tell me to go pack sand if you want but, I am wondering if you should change your goal to 10 lbs lower. Sometimes a little mind bend can get you to your goal a little faster. It is just an idea. But anyways big hugs for you for a job well done!

That is great Carrie So glad you are feeling better and even improved from your baseline. The weather must be lookin up in your area. It is already starting to get crisp in the evenings and the sun is setting sooner. Soon i will be going to work in the dark and getting off in the dark. Oh well i don't mind winter. I used to really love it so i could hide my fat in big fat clothes lol.

I had to work today and i didn't pack a lunch so i was kinda sweatin it about what i was going to eat. I managed to do just fine.

Breakfast coffee with heavy cream sausage and bacon

Lunch: Everyone ordered from subway so i got a salad with chicken and turkey and bacon cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives and banana peppers. with Ranch drsg. Diet Dr Pepper

Supper: cheese omlet and 1 slice of lc toast.

lots of water and i didn't have a snack. One of our former patients brought in a thank you basket with all this candy and homemade almond bark. I didn't have one piece. Every one at work kept trying to get me to eat cake and cookies and candy. I said no. I finally just tell them that i am worried about my BP and of getting diabetes. Otherwise they get on me about my lc way of eating and i get kinda tired of hearing it. My legs are a little achey today so i am not working out tonight. Otherwise I am feeling pretty good. Thennnnnnnnnnnn I have the next 3 days off!!! Yippeeeeeee

Hope Liz is doing okay down there in Texas. Betty Lou how you holding up darlin?

Hugs to you all and hope all is well. Take care.

Hello Ladies!

This board is getting electrified! What a fabulous picture of those old jeans, Stacy. Can't wait to have one of those to share! Carrie, so glad to hear you are doing so well and can walk so far. Keep it up. Eve, just don't give in to the office food temptations. Remember, your holiday outfit awaits!

Speaking of the holiday outfit...

Got to thinking that we could also model things for feedback b4 purchase. Just take a digital camera to the store and snap some pics. It's sometimes fun to try on things we might not usually consider. Myself--I'm usually a bit too practical and predictable.

All is well here in North Texas. Ike turned out to be a pussycat once he made his way up here.

Betty Lou, I hope all is well. Let us know how things are going.

Well, I've got to get back to studying. Til later...

Liz so glad things are okay in Texas for you. Did you get any rain from Ike? How are the studies going?

I have been looking online at Cold Water Creek. I found this really cute jacket that i like and i showed it to my dh. He said well go buy it! I said it isn't that simple, i have to earn it, it is a part of a reward for a weight loss challenge. He said ohhHHHHHHHHhhhhh then rolled his eyes. hahahhaha men! They say they understand but they really don't.

Okay i rolled out of bed and am ready to take on my lc wol. ummmm after some coffee. TTYL. Be well

Pretty Awesome

I am having such an awesome day I don't really know why though. I have been listening to music and spot cleaning my carpet and vacuuming and doing laundry again. I sure do wish i could get rid of this carpeting. It is a cream color and every spot shows. I would love to go to a type of wood flooring and ceramic tile. I told my hubby about it and he just said, are u getting a second job? Hahahahahahha. Well we shall see about that!!!!! What kinda flooring do you ladies have? I am also thinking about painting my living room but haven't quite decided what color. I am thinking a pale butter cream color. I also need to finish my roll up shades. lol I think i need an interior decorator. I don't want to go green cuz my bedroom is in an olive green color on walls with gold and rust accents bedding etc. I did it in a venetian plaster and i will never do that again. I thought i needed carpal tunnel surgery after doing that. Noooo i want to kinda do an acid wash in the living room dinning room. I am all ears for suggestions ladies and any great ideas.

breakfast: cottage cheese, homemade latte

snk: cheese stick

lunch: salad with tomatoes, tuna fish, and caesar drsg, diet soda

lots of water already

I haven't worked out yet. I am still cleaning and i will probably do that later. Going to have porkchops for supper and maybe some kind of steamed vegetable.

ttyl. Hope you all are having an awesome day too!

I did have pork chops for supper and some steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Sprinkled some parmesan cheese on it and that was good enough for me.

I did 30 minutes of eliptical and instead of working weights i tried my pilates again. omg it is not a pretty sight! Eventually i will get more graceful at it.

Has anyone started their christmas shopping yet?
