I can't wait to hear all about the party!

We went to a chinese buffet for lunch. I ate a lot. Deep fried, fatty battered crap. I say crap because that is how I feel right now. The kids do too. We don't do a lot of deep fried foods anymore. We all overdid it.

I will be more off of the diet this next week than on, I'm afraid. The last time we visited the families, I think they went out of their way to coat everything in flour. Lol! It is funny, because until I really got into LC, I didn't realize how wrong we ate growing up.

Well, I am getting ready to put the deposit down on a cruise for next year. I love the fact that our 17 year old daughter is so adament that we go on a family vacation together again. I don't like how much it will cost. Although, I guess that if our kids are set on family vacations, we have done something right with them.

Makes me more determined to get back on track!!!

Yardsale... total was 179.after saturday. We had a yardsale last summer and got rid of lots of 22-24w... and just wiped out the 20w that was left over in the back. I could probably move more out just need the time to do it. I took what was left over to goodwill... just didnt want to drag anything else home. I'm either going to use the cash for Gas or Pay for the CLASSES I signed UP FOR!!!! YEAH!!!! I just have to send the ck in monday. IM trying to talk DH into going with me if they have the room..

I was browsing ebay for boots... you ladies need to help me on that one... heels??? leather... lol. I was wondering if my hunting boots would work until the class was over.. class is JULY 19,20. I would love to ride thru the neighborhood but I dont have tags on it yet, havnt been to courthouse to change over the title. HUbby still mad but wants his own bike now... only he wants new... cant afford new... I have found used ones that look nice but would need someone who knew what runs good. DH rode dirtbikes said he dont have experiance with crusiers... at least he admits it.. "hugs"

Im up for posting new ideas for recipes or menus.. I think I read that....

remember posting our weekly menus. I stole more ideas from here !

DD13 is doing good with the LC. She wants to look better in her bathingsuit.

and that one I got for this year dont fit. but I can work on it all summer....

I guess I will eat a salad for dinner.. had bbq pork and coleslaw for lunch ... lc bbq was nasty, just had to put real bbq on it... then pushed most of it off.... geeze why do food producers put so much sugar in everything!

WTG Paula (big cheers) I am starting all over again at 202. These last few weeks i have been really bad. I hadn't even tried to do lc. The weather has finally started to look like summer is arriving and I am anxious to get out and about now. Hopefully my disposition will improve as well. TOM came in like a raging storm. I got off work and my legs and back were aching so bad. Dh wanted to run to wal-mart to get a few things for our day out on the boat today, but i was so tired and told him to let me just lay down for a few minutes. I was out like a light and didn't get up this morning till 5 am. 10 hours of sleep, i never sleep that long. All i remember was i was dreaming about IV pump alarms going off all nite and I had to hurry and hang Kid Rock's antibiotic before it was too late. Funny, i was watching his new video "All summer long" prior to laying down last nite. Weird how sometimes i incorporate things that happen during the day into my dreams.

So anyways, did i hear someone say "Challenge" I am feelin up to one or two. I am not the greatest cook/ recipe finder but i will give it a shot Stacy. I have till July 4th to get one submitted rite? Lordy it will take me that long to come up with something creative. Okay and a 10 lbs weight loss by July 4th? I think that is doable too.

Well ladies speaking of boots, I have these brown leather "vintage" boots. I bought at a vintage store. My dd told me i needed to buy them, and i never tried them on. Well i can't get my fat foot into them and they are way to cute to throw away. They lace up the side (almost to the knee) and have maybe a 2 inch heel on them and a rounded toe. If anyone wants em, let me know. I have a wide foot and these are not built for my wide fat foot. I would pay for the shipping too. If anyone is interested, i will dig em out and try to find a size on them. I am guessing they are around a 7-8.

I want to hear all about the big b-day bash Betty Lou! And about the day after (giggles) I hope you had a really really great time! I am almost done with your bracelets. I picked up a few extra shifts and didn't have as much time as i wanted to spend on them. I have to tell you though, i really really like how they are turning out and i enjoy making them.

Sorry Stacy to hear that your dh is having a rough time at work. I hope it gets better. When and where are u going on your cruise? I have never been on one. My dh isn't even interested in going on one. A couple of my gal pals were thinking of just going on an all girl one and leaving our party pooper dh's at home. LOL i am still trying to save for my Venice trip during carnival. I don't know when that will be but come H or H, i will be going someday. It is on my list of things to do.

Oh Paula, I hope the motorbiking is going well for ya. I haven't ridden mine in ages. It sure is pretty though. The carbs still need tweaking but otherwise she i sweet. My dh used to own a motorcycle repair shop when we lived in Georgia. Until he found out his partner was dipping in the till. Rite now he has been busy working on his own (making his into a custom street fighter) It is looking pretty sick and hopefully will be featured in a magazine when he is done. He has gotten a few inquireries from some publishers/editors from a british mag. He has his progress posted on a few motorcycle threads. So anyways my carbs are not quite done due to that.

Well i need to get myself up and at em so we can go boating today. I will be so nice just to sit in the sun and chill for a day. You all be good and hope u r all well. Hugs

not sure what I weighed this morning.. I hate my analog scales.. miss the digitals my DH broke! I think it was 204.. but that figures at times.

I ate eggs this morning and tuna salad for lunch. I have chicken breast in the crockpot with seasoning.. and dont know what to fix with it. i'd like to skip dinner jsut to see if it would help me move another pound off. Im over doing the iced coffee. the light cream is gonna kill me in the carbs.. trace1 for 1Tb... so 1/4 cup is killer... dont want to add it up!!

post pic of boots~ I wear 7.5

I'll post more later tonight..

stacy .. hope work for Dh works out.. I know it sucks to be crapped on.. esp by employers..crossing fingers and toes for ya~!

I'mmmmmmmm ba aaaaaack

Hello ladies Wow my internet is back up to speed again. Our day out on the boat was pure heaven. We drove up through the canyon and found a nice secluded spot carved out of the canyon wall. all these huge boulders around. We sat there for a bit and ate our lunch. It was so quiet. The only sounds was our munching, a few eagles calling and lapping water. I almost dozed off. It was so fun running around the boat with out my shoes on, tossing the anchor over the side and then running back to toss the ropes to dock us. I felt like a true sailor. Of course i did forget to move the cooler from over top the engine compartment and my dh said teasingly that i was a sorry arse first matey. I said teasingly back, Thats cuz I am not the first mate! I am the captain and you're the 1st mate! When we drove back i sat up on the pulpit with my feet over the water it was awesome. I got a little sun on my upper body and my legs are still fishbelly white! Gonna have to use some of that fake tanning stuff to help em along.

I had lots of water, one lc beer. eggs for breakfast and some turkey and cheese and celery for lunch. I think i am getting back on track. Dh is grilling me a hotdog rite now. I will eat that without the bun.

Okay gotta go. Hugs to u all. Good luck on your challenges

Morning all..

I got a pic from Birthdaughter.... her 3D ultrasound of the baby... those things are wild. Ive seen better pictures on the commericals so I guess what she sent was typical. Its still cuter then the b/w that shows only bones....etc. She is due in Sept.

I did eat dinner last night. Added the cucumbers from the garden. Frozen Broc/caul/carrot mix. it looked bad coming out of the bag... but steamed them back to life. I tell ya Im getting tired of paying for crappy groceries!

Im gonna eat light today... ground turkey patties and probably some salad. but I need to eat smaller portions. I guess I need to get my ATkins book and and read again!

I'll post more later.

Sounds like you doing good Paula, despite the crappy groceries. I have never had turkey patties before. I have had turkey sausage and turkey jerky. Hmmm thats an idea. I just got up, so not sure what I am going to have today. Not much in the house/fridge. Probably some scrambled eggs and a protein shake. I have lots to do today. I really need to get my hair done and see if i can get into the orthodontist to check on my braces. I can not wait till these things get to come off. Then i really need to get out there and get some weed pulling done. I have a clematis to plant and yes i need to get my tomatoes in. Our growing season is so short and you already have cukes! It is just now warming up. We usually plant in May but it has been so cold here.
I lost most of my zinnias. Some are still trying to hang in there. I will try to snap a pic of those boots. If not today then it will be sometime this week. Okay well daylights a burn'n gotta get a move on. TTYL. You r doing so great

I still need to fit in a workout today and still do something in my yard. So far i have had 2 protein shakes and a lc mocha latte. Not sure what i will have later. Something quick and easy. Talk to you gals later. Be well

I Survived!!!

Hi Everybody!

Well, I survived my birthday party! Just barely! Hahahaha! We had a great time. The weather was just perfect (about 73 degrees). We started out about 7 p.m. The bar walls open up on the sides and back, so we were outside and put some umbrella tables together and some picnic tables. Had some munchies, hotdogs & hamburgs, and my cake was gorgeous and tasted really good! I love buttercream frosting. You should see the gag gifts I got!!! Hahahaha! And I was all decked out in "50" buttons, banners, necklaces, and a crown. Oh, and also a princess wand. Also got some nice gifts too and also gift certificates. About 30-35 friends showed up. The band was good too.

Then as the night went on........whew! I got pretty drunk!!! My friend from Buffalo got a room at the Clarion across the street. Sooooo.......as things were winding down, about 6 of us went to her room and partied some more! (There was another good band outside of the Clarion, so we stayed until they ended). Nice too, because that was outside and directly on the lake. I think I got home around 4 a.m.

So, that was my night! I took Monday off of work (it was planned). On Sunday I just laid around all day. And THAT was planned too!

So, looks like you guys are all doing good! Eve, your boat ride sounds absolutely soooo relaxing! Sounds like alot of fun and glad that YOU are the captain!!! We have another smaller lake about 40 minutes away (Chautauqua Lake), well, it's not really small, but it's not one of the Great Lakes. Anyway, you can rent boats for the day. I've always wanted to rent a Pontoon boat and go out there with like 6 or 8 friends. Just kinda float around and have a few drinks and like a small luncheon. In fact I think I AM going to do that this year. I've been thinking and talking about it for a few years now, but nobody ever really does anything about it. Guess I'll take charge and go out on some nice Saturday afternoon when everybody has off from work. The more you talk boat, the more it gets me excited to do it!

Paula, sounds like you are really sticking to the diet......YAY! So cool that you got the ultra sound of your grandchild. Can they tell the gender yet? Also cool that you got yourself a bike! Myself, I don't ride. I've been the passenger on the back of hubby's Harley for......wow.....a long time.....like 30 years! It's so nice to get out there. I've got a back problem (had surgery in 2001), so I can't go on the long rides anymore. Short ones are still ok though. And a full dresser would be even better! We keep throwing that idea around. Hubby would NOT trade his baby in.....so we would just get another........but then that's money. But I do miss going on the long, long rides. But I do not want to go through all that back/sciatic nerve pain crap again, so for now I will stick to shorter rides on the 1979 bike! That would really be cool if you guys could all meet up. I'm way on the East Coast, so I doubt if I'd catch up to you all. But who knows, maybe one of these days we'll take a vacation out that way.

Stacy, your cruise sounds like it's going to be fun! Where are you planning on going? I've never been on a cruise, but I'd love to! We've talked about it, but again, just never did anything about it. There alot of nice ones out of Florida. I think I would choose a short one to start with.......they have alot of 3 day, 2 nighters. Are you going off the East Coast or West Coast? You'll have to fill us in!

Ok, now about the diet. I'm actually doing pretty decent considering all the partying lately.....and cake! Still at 200, which is good. I didn't gain. My short-term goal is losing 5 pounds by July 4th. Now THAT is definitely doable. I mentioned doing "good" on Monday through Friday. I'm sticking to that. Tomorrow (actual Birthday), my Mom, brother, hubby and me are going out to dinner. I should be able to stick to a decent supper. If nothing else, I will have a very small portion. I kind of already have something in mind........Small Filet Mignon, salad and veggies. That's if we go to this one particular restaurant. If not, then I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something. The five pounds I wanted to lose before June 14th didn't happen. Like I mentioned before, I was more on a "maintenance mode." But, still, it's all good as I didn't gain.

Been walking too. Not today though......feeling alittle crappy......like a respiratory/cold or whatever coming on. Plus it never made it out of the 50's today and damp and gray and raining.

Well, that's about all for now. Take care and I'll talk to you later!

Betty Lou

Hi!

Well, I celebrated "Part II" of my birthday. Today (18th) is the actual day. Went to the Casino........I had a free spin on the wheel since it was my b-day. I won $25.00 in cash to play on the slots. Didn't win anything on the slots. Well, few dollars here and a few dollars there, but I spent it all. That's ok. It wasn't my money anyway......! Ken won $100.00! Great! He won it on the 2 cent machines (big spenders, huh? ). He played $3.60 and won $100.00 so can't complain about that!

A few posts back I posted that I would be "good" Monday through Friday and one have a possible cheat dinner in between. WELL I SURE THE HELL DID!!! I didn't mean cheat as much as I did! Instead of going to a restaurant for dinner, we went to a BUFFET! Wrong choice! Hahahaha! We went to the buffet inside the casino. It was delicious, and we didn't eat until later, so I was really hungry. I over-did it big time......especially with the bread. Had 2 pieces with butter. Oh well, I said I "might" cheat, but holy crap! I was full. And I haven't been really FULL since March 25th!!!! HAHAHAHA! Well, you only turn 50 once.

I'm off today (Thursday). I always take the day AFTER my birthday off.

See ya,
Betty Lou

Oh.......wanted to mention that my present from Ken was the BOSE Companion 3 speaker/bass system. It's for the computer. Have you guys ever listened to that system? It's WONDERFUL! Such deep bass with really good surround sound. Crystal clear highs and punchy deep bass. He'll set it up for me tomorrow. I'm excited! I just LOVE good sounding music and everything else that I will listen to on the computer!

Hi ladies! I am at my mom's. It has been an extremely hc carb week. Cakes, ice cream, gravy, fried (battered) food, cereal, etc...I almost think that my MIL went out of her way to do that. But, I was of the "oh well" opinion and just went with it. Gonna roll with it and start over on Saturday when I go home. It's all good.

I have been missing you gals a lot. I really lean on y'all and am thankful you are here.

The internet is crappy out here. So, I will post this and talk to ya again tomorrow night or so.

Love,
Me :-)

Back on Track....

Hi guys!

Back on track today. Ate all "diet" food, small portions. Went for a long walk with Emma....(even though it's a gray day and raining in between). I feel better eating like that actually. Last night's dinner was WAY TOO MUCH! So, back on track.

Took the day off of work today. Did a few things, but nothing much. And right now (early evening), I'm already in my nightgown. Feels great! Get that Bra off me!

Stacy.....have fun at your Mom's. Mom's do that to us, ya know? Eating makes you happy according to them! Hahahahaha! I'm glad you're enjoying your visit with her.

These new BOSE speakers are now hooked up to my computer. Wow, they sound GREAT! What a difference!

Nothing else exciting going on.........talk to you later,
Betty Lou

I'm home!!!!

I have probably gained 10 pounds this week. I am serious about that. I haven't had a great start to the day, but I am home now and can go from here, right? I am still up for the 10 pound challenge for the 4th. If I am really good, I should be able to hit it. And, lemme tell you, I plan on being really good from here on out.

I did get home last night. My hubby texted me telling me that he thought I was going to beat him home (he was trying to get home before I did). I opened the garage and his bike wasn't in there. So, I walk in the house and he is standing right there. Scared the snot out of me, but I was so excited to see him. He just kept kissing and hugging me tight. It was quite sweet. He had parked his bike right behind the fence so that I wouldn't know he was home already. He offered to unpack the car for me, so I went and hopped in the shower. When I got out, I went downstairs. He had made the bed and on my pillow was a brand new sexy nightie (size L) and some Kama Sutra body powder. He has never done anything like that before. I was more than a little surprised. I got dressed and he took me out to dinner. It was a great evening. The upside to being gone for a few days is coming home. Lol!

Today my daughter and I went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch. OMG it was so good. Now, I feel like I am done and looking forward to coming up with a healthy menu for the week. Tonight, I am grilling pork chops and making some scalloped turnips. I bought some smoked cheddar to try in the turnips. Speaking of, I need to get busy in the kitchen. Let's have a great week!

Good Morning!

Well, I stepped on the scale. 163. That is nowhere near as bad as I anticipated, so I am thankful for that.

Has anyone tried the Aussie Squash Fries? "Aussie" Squash Fries (w/pic) I have, they are very good. I had forgotten about them until someone bumped the thread. Just go into it knowing that you are eating squash and not potatoes. They do not taste like fries.

I made scalloped turnips using smoked cheddar last night. That worked quite well also. I also made some pork chops on the Foreman grill and a nice salad. I will be making more dinners like that.

It has been a quiet morning. With the boys in OK and our daughter at work, it's been a lazy, sit around the house in my robe kind of day.

I am in the process of trying to figure out what my food intake is when I am losing weight. I know that I go through different phases, such as cereal for dinner, lots of salads, and other stuff like that. I feel like I am at such a loss as to what to do. Even though I have been at this for a long time, I sometimes feel (like now) that I don't have a clue. I am hoping that if I go through the thread I will find a couple of things that I have done previously. What I should do is keep a notebook or post everything daily.

Okie dokie, I need some coffee. I will check in soon.

I'm a naughty naughty girl

Okay so i have been very naughty. I tried a few times last week to make a go of the lc woe. It just wasn't happening. It has been a busy week and busy weekend. I will fill you all in later. As of now, I am very tired and going to hit the hay. Okay so tomorrow it is a new day and i have a few days off to regroup. I am ready this time and up for the 10 lbs challenge. Still at 202. TTYL. Glad someone is still doing well

Good morning all you lovely ladies Well it is time to get back to business. So far so good. Have just had coffee so far. Going to go work out and see if i can jump start these muscles. I am not looking forward to the soreness again. Oh well, no pain no gain right? I am still hanging around at 202. I honestly don't know how that is possible. I can really tell that i have not been drinking the amount of water i should be. So i need to amp that up. I feel like today I am starting all over again. I know what you mean Stacy about feeling all new at this woe. I need to infuse some new ideas into my plan. I think if i change it up some and have more varieties it will really help. I would like to try those aussie fries and the turnip dish. They sound tastey and healthy too. Glad you are back home and feelin lavished with love. Your dh sounds like a great guy and very supportive. You know we ladies have to be thankful that we have such wonderful soul mates. I work with a lot of ladies that have horrible ones, and i wonder y they stay with them. I watched the movie "PS: I Love You" I cried throughout the whole dam movie. It was a good one though.

Betty Lou I see you recovered from sowing your wild oats! Sounds like you had an awesome time. The place you had your party sounds pretty cool. Wish i coulda been there to celebrate. I am not sure i have the stamina that you do though. My best friend is 29 and she keeps trying to kill me. I keep tellin her i am too old for all that partying crap but she insists she is keeping me young I don't know about that cuz afterwards, i feel 80. Ahhhh but you only live life once huh.

Hey Paula how is the motorbiking going? Sorry i haven't had a chance to post a pic of those boots. I will try to get to it this week. I am still working on a few bracelets and trying to get stuff together for when my daughter comes home. She is coming home from Japan. She has been stationed there for 2 years and now is getting stationed in DE.

We spent the weekend on our boat. It was so much fun. I wish i was back there. The sleeping was fine except for my dh bumped his head twice on the cockpit deck above us. He thought he heard something and went to sit up and forgot where he was The air mattress is not the most comfortable thing to sleep on either but we managed. Got up and made breakfast on a camp stove and it was delicious. I am sure it was not any different from when we cook it at home. It was extra good cuz we were camping. We explored a lot and found this awesome cove. I will have to take pictures of it. I did trip on a rock and fell onto a boulder. I thought i broke my frick'n arm. I laid there for a bit till i could catch my breath and my dh came and helped me up. Right now my arm is just sore and the day before i could barely lift it. I think it is going to be okay. Just pulled a muscle i think. Okay well the yard needs my attention and so does the house. You ladies be well and i will catch up with you all later with my progress today. I think it is important for me to check in and post my lc activities. You ladies help keep me motivated and accountable. Thanks for everything

PS: any camping ideas would be greatly appreciated. For example how to make a good pot of coffee?

So glad to see you posting, Eve! I was getting ready to hunt you down, you know?

Weighed in at 162 or so this morning. I can't tell on this scale. I need another digital one.

Just got home from the grocery store. I rode my husbands bike there. I have never ridden his bike before. It was supposed to be the both of us (he has saddlebags on his bike- I don't.) Well, he kept putting me off, so I grabbed his key and told him bye. I like his bike----but, don't tell him I said that.

Yep Stacy, I know I know. I was ashamed to show my posts cuz i was doing so horrible. It was almost like i had given up and i was really feeling kinda down. I am doing okay now. I had a good workout today. I worked legs cuz my left arm is still a little sore. It is much better today. Atleast i can lift it up past the level of my elbow.

breakfast: coffee, eggs with cheese, bacon

snack: protein shake

lunch: a strawberry (from the garden) only one and some cottage cheese and i made some fajita strips with green and red peppers and onions

supper: chicken breast grilled, green beans, and a soda

used my french press to make coffee and had some after dinner coffee. I think i need to add more coffee grounds. It was kinda weak. Trying to find the right mix for when we go camping again.

Went shopping today and bought some stuff for the boat (went to the dollar store, man i love that place.) found some pot holders and some hot pads and some jiffy pop popcorn. I think that would be good around the campfire. Then i went to wal-mart and bought some lounge floaters and bought a few groceries. Oh and i found some flint! My son and i built a fire in the chiminea this evening using the flint. Later tonight I am going to read a little of my book "Deep Fathom" by James Rollins. Have any of you ladies ever read any of his books? So far this one is really good. My dh is reading "The Judas Stain" by James Rollins too. okay well you all have a wonderful evening. Hope Betty Lou is enjoying her concert. TTYL
