Snickers at the waffle comment Now we are going to make Betty Lou feel bad. Nahhhhhhhh! hahahahhaha. Ohhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhh i love trips. I am jealous that you r going to MI. My dh was stationed in MI and he speaks very highly of it. I have never been there really, just drove through it and OMG talk about toll alley. It was very pretty from what I have seen.

Lost another .8 lbs. I am so excited. Had a pretty intensive ab workout this am. Got my jewelry class tonight so i probably wont get to make the pizza unless i do it after i get home. I went to the store and got all the ingredients though. I can not find any lc marinara though so i thought that i might try making my own sauce. Gosh even the diced/stewed/paste/tomato sauce all have sugar added in them!!! Found some sun dried tomato pesto. and some artichoke pesto that i mite try. They are pretty lc. Got some mushrooms and some black olives and some canadian bacon. Hmmmm i really want to make it but i still have to work arms tonight. We shall see

Kept it lc so far. I am not very hungry today. Had to actually make myself eat something. I wish i could wear a swimsuit dang blasted! I guess i will stick with tanks and shorts this summer. I am trying so hard to lose that 15 lbs by end of May. Well guess i should get back to cleaning. You all have a wonderful lc rest of the day

Hi!

Come on you guys, GIVE IT TO ME......I CAN TAKE IT!!! Waffles, Waffles!!!

So, sounds like everybody's doing great! I'm doing pretty good too. Except it's raining and dreary here......and I'm not like Stacy where rain and cold makes me happy!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Haven't been walking in about 4 days!!! Been tooooooo cold! And I don't "do" cold! Tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny and.....well, still on the cool side, but if it's a nice day I'll get out there. I want to! The food department is going pretty good too. I've had a good 3-4 days.

What is a bathing suit? Hopefully I'll find out one of these days! I do bathing suit "bottoms" with a t-shirt! I'm an "apple" and all my weight is boobs and stomach. So, I CAN and DO wear short shorts, but you ain't gonna see no tube top on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eve, those are HOT FLASHES!!!!!!! Seriously, it really could be. Especially with the night sweats. Covers on, covers off, covers on, covers off! I forgot how old you are (44??), but it could be the beginnings. I did go through early menopause.....my grandmother did too. Not saying that it IS, but you could have a few signs here and there. It's not so bad, at least for me it wasn't.

Stacy, have fun in Michigan. Hope you get a chance to see all your family and friends!!!!!!!!!! I love going places!

Well, American Idol is on. Will talk to you later!

Betty Lou

(Why do these icons move? They are never in the same place)!!!!

Quit telling me stories Betty Lou! Those are soooo not hot flashes!
Well okay, maybe they are but I am going to stay in denial mode about that for awhile. I am not ready for it. LOL like anybody ever is ready for it.

Boy my dh was in such a mood last nite. Glad i had things to do and i didn't have to be around him. Love him to pieces but man! Sometimes i have to tell him to suck it up. I guess we all go through that though and have to be told to snap out of it. I know i need it at times too! He is just a little stressed with work and all the projects he has going on here. He can't keep up with the yard like he wants to. Te he guess i get to help out with the yard again (after he told me not to help)

Okay 200.4 lbs this am. I can't seem to stay away from the scale.

My jewelry class was so much fun last nite. We used silver clay which is 99.9 pure silver as compared to sterling which is 92.5. We had to practice with scultpy clay first cuz the silver has a really fast drying time. Then they had these sheets of hard plastic that had designs on it. I picked two sheets so i could texture the front and the back of my piece. I made a pendant. They are firing it today so I am kinda excited to see how it looks. It comes out of the kiln all white and powdery looking. So then i have to polish it.

Well you girls have a wonderful day. It is so sunshiney here and I am going to enjoy it! Betty Lou, i hope the weather improves for you, so u can hit the bricks. Stacy, how was the swimsuit? I am going to make that pizza today!!

Waves to Justine and Paula, hope you two are doing okay. We miss you.

I did try the swimsuit on. I am getting there. It looks a bit better on me than it did when I bought it. Little more to go before it looks good- but not too much!

Scale said 163 this morning. I was really hoping for another half pound more gone, but, at least it is moving down.

I am not out doing any jobs today. I am home working on setting tomorrow up. My manager assigned me a survey out in Cripple Creek. An hour and a half away. Standard $13/fee. I emailed her and explained that I have no issue going out there, I am looking forward to it. But, I would appreciate it if she would be able to bump the pay or find me more work. She was able to bump the pay to $50. So, I get a nice roadtrip and $50 for 20 minutes worth of work. I will be doing that tomorrow. And I have at least two other surveys to do enroute, so it will be a good day.

Alrighty, outta here for a bit. Gotta make it look as though I have done something around the house today.

Alrighty, here is what I know. My hubby will be in MI June 22-24 and did ask about us purchasing a plane ticket for me so that I can go also. What a good guy. Although, I am kinda leaning towards driving, would be easier that way, but, whatever.

I found $40 in the checking account. I didn't add in one of my first paychecks from the new job. Needless to say, it took me forever to figure out what the issue was. It also showed me how I have been slacking off, because it has been almost two months since balancing the checkbook. I normally balance every few days cuz it is easier to keep up. Gotta fix that.

Also, reserved a room at the Stratosphere in Vegas for the mini class reunion in Oct. Reserved a room with two beds and put the invite out there to anyone who wants the second bed- split the cost of the room.

Been a nice day. Hope it keeps going that way.

LOL Whats a check book? I haven't written a check in ages.

Stacy i don't blame you for not wanting to fly again, after your last experience. Your reunion sounds fun. I wish our class would do something fun like vegas. My niece and I and maybe my mom are going in either September or October to Vegas. I just love it. U know, I ain't that much of a gambler but i just love the ambiance. Isn't that way fun to find money u didn't know you had? I remember finding some cash in a jacket pocket that i hadn't worn in about a year. Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day. I had a nice day off too. Got a lot done in my own time. I like days like that. I even took a nap. Still have to work out yet. Kinda hungry rite now and thinking about making that pizza. I tried to make one using flatbread, and it totally sucked.

I think it is the season finale of CSI Las Vegas tonight. Warrick is leaving the show . I wonder who is going to replace him. Okay need to work out. Catch you all later.

Lol! Yeah, I don't write checks very often. But, I do use the debit card a lot, which is really why I should have been keeping closer track of funds. Thankfully, we have a bit more than I thought. So, that is great!

I don't gamble in Vegas. I do love the ambiance. The fantasy land that Vegas is.

I just sent an email to my favorite uncle in MI. Told him that I think that I will be there next month and asked if he and my aunt are available for dinner. He should like that. I am quite anxious for the trip. I figure that I can spend the daytime (class hours) with the family getting caught up on life and then DH and I can hang out with them for one evening and ride around checking out my childhood one evening.

I just ate loaded broccoli for dinner. I am stuffed. I need to figure out what I will be making DH for dinner. The kids are at the mall stuffing their faces with fast food.

OMG that was the best ever! Thank you so much Stacy for posting that. I used marinara, i couldn't find lc. Onions, mushrooms and finely chopped canadian bacon. Now i have one more weapon to add to my arsenal for the war against fat. I cut it in 8th's and had two slices. I am so stuffed now. I am going to take some to work tomorrow.

It is amazing how filling it is, huh? I use the Wal Mart brand pizza sauce. It is something like 3 carbs per serving.

I am having fun coming up with different toppings for the pizza. Lemme know what your thoughts on toppings can be.

ETA: I don't know if I posted this before, so if I did, oh well. :-P

On my first pizza, I did half with pizza sauce, pepperoni, and jalapeno stuffed olives. The other half I did with homemade salsa, leftover taco meat, and a little co-jack cheese. That was kinda tasty. I think that next time I will add black olives to it, just for a little more.

Hmmm i love white pizza. Have u tried one of those yet? This marinara sauce had 5 grams. Not to thrilled about that. In the past, I made this homemade pizza sauce from one of my weight watchers cookbook. I will have to see if i can find it and see if there is any sugar in it. It was soooooo good. I had to cook it down for half the day.
MMMM taco pizze would be awesome. I love turkey sausage, i used that before on a pizza before. And i love asiago cheese and grana padano cheese.

Hi Everybody!

Went for my walk tonight. Felt good! My brother came up and he decided to go with me. So we took BOTH dogs. Alittle hard to manage, as Emma (G.Shep) always wants to follow and do what Blaze (mix) does. So, we got alittle out of wack sometimes. Then we decided to go visit my friend Chris, who has 3 dogs. Went out in her yard and watched the dogs, etc. I guess it was a "DOG DAY AFTERNOON!!!!!!" Anyway, it was good to visit her for awhile, and nice that I had some company on my walk.

Well, now I DEFINITELY have to make that pizza this weekend......you guys got my taste-buds up for some pizza!

I do have a serious question though. Do you guys watch calories? It seems like I REALLY REALLY HAVE TO! And I watch the salt too. If I don't, lookout! I try to keep about 1200 calories a day. My diet is alittle different than strictly low carb. Although I do keep it at a "lower" carb. Very lower carb. But I have to watch the FATS also. So I am low fat and lower carb. And I do eat 2 fruits a day......which I guess you could say it was a carb.

So, with putting cheese, pepperoni, olives and things that have a higher fat content in there, I don't see how I could lose on that, but you guys definitely do!!! And like pepperoni has high salt. Does it all have to do with that Ketosis stuff? I'm not too familiar with that.

Here's an example of what I eat:
B: 1 measured cup Kellogs corn flakes
Some 2% milk just to cover it.

L: Tuna fish with alittle low fat Miracle Whip on one piece of wheat toast.
Small salad (a few cherry tomatoes, sliced up cucumbers), and 1000 Island dressing on the side.
Apple. Or maybe 5-6 strawberries.

D: Chicken breast....about 3 ounces. Tablespoon BBQ sauce to dip.
Broccoli (UGGGGHHHH) or maybe greenbeans. No real butter, but just a few sprays of fake butter.
Low fat cottage cheese.

Nighttime: Usually an apple.

So, that's that. There are some carbs in there, but it is allowable. I do mix it up. For example, maybe at lunch I would have tuna only, and NO bread. So, then at supper, I could have a small red potato.

Hahahaha.....after all that, my question still is, do you watch calories? And......fat content?

My Mom has a weight-watchers detailed book with the Points and all that. I think I'm going to check that out this weekend. I just have to get some new recipies. Getting a bit bored of the chicken part, most of the time.

I really don't care too spend ALOT of time in the kitchen. Especially when I come home from work........I like to eat by at least 6:00 (I get home about 5:15). Hubby usually has supper ready, or else if I made it, we wouldn't be eating until way later.

I wouldn't mind getting things ready, say, on a Sunday for the week. Maybe I'll check out some new recipes this weekend and do some stuff ahead of time.

Boy this is a serious post, huh?????

Stacy, what is loaded broccoli? Maybe I could gag it down better if it tasted better! I'm HORRIBLE with veggies. But I'm eating them cuz they are low in calories.

Getting late.....almost 12:30 a.m. and I get up at 6:00. So......nighty night!

Thanks for everything!
Betty Lou

Hello Ladies!

The scale showed 161.5 this morning. Woo-hoo!

So, here is how my day started. Didn't sleep well last night. Had to get up early for work today. I got up and got in the shower. Just about finished and my hubby asks if he can join me. He hops in with me and kisses my shoulder, says good morning, then washes my back for me. The day is starting out well, wouldn't you say? Then-I faint. Pass out. I remember telling my hubby that I feel faint. That's it. Next thing I know, I am on the floor and the water is off, my honey is trying to make sure I am ok. It was quite odd. I have never done that before. To be standing up one minute and then you are on the floor. Very odd to say the least. I was glad that he was in there with me to make sure that I didnt hurt myself. I am pretty embarrassed about it.

Betty Lou, loaded broccoli is broccoli topped with baked potato toppings. Butter, cheese, sour cream, chives, bacon bits. It also works for cauliflower.

Had to work out in the middle of the mountains today. My legs are sore from that. I love getting paid to work on my legs.

My diet, watching calories doesn't do it for me. I don't eat a lot normally. Salt kills me. Carbs kill me. I am very carb sensitive. I always have been. I do tend to switch up the diets to find out what will work and what won't. Normally that is followed by a nice month long off track diet. I gain a bit. Then I go back to lc and tell myself I won't ever get off track again. Neverending circle.

I hope that you gals are having a great day! I am tired. I think I may try to take a quick nap.

Goodness gracious Stacy! First way to go girl on the weight loss. Does a jiggy dance for you! 2nd, you fainting makes me worry. Almost sounds like your blood pressure dropped. That can make you pass out. Are you drinking enough fluids? Dehydration can make your blood pressure lower too and cause you to feel dizzy and faint. Did you have any nausea. I know this sounds funny but sometimes when a person has a bowel movement, it stimulates the vagus nerve which in turn can give you a sudden drop in BP and make you pass out. It is called a vaso vagal response. We have had patients pass out on the toilet. You should probably see a doc to get checked out. Or maybe your honey is just so hot he made u faint!

Betty Lou, i don't count one calorie. I don't watch the salt or the fat. I eat whatever i want as long as it is low carb or has what i call a low glycemic index. I hover rite around on this side of ketosis. I am not sure i believe in being in ketosis. The brain is the only organ that uses pure glucose with out needing insulin to put it in the cells. So my jury is still out on that one. I kinda look at it from a almost hunter gatherer aspect as well. In the old days people had to hunt or gather berries nuts and vegtables to eat. carbs were scarce in the winter time and they subsisted on meats a lot. I saw one show where this tribe came across a bee hive and they broke into it and had honey. Those were very rare occasions. If you think about the fruits and abundance of vegatables in the summer time. People really ate a lot of it during the summer to store up for the long winter. So that is kinda my philosphy that i have come up with from reading different theories. I just take the parts i like the best hahaha That pizza was awesome Betty Lou! you should try it. Glad you had a nice walk. Is the weather getting better in your area? I have a few weight watchers books and cookbooks if you would like them. I can mail em to you. I didn't know what to do with them and was going to take em to good will. I would rather give them to someone i like and could use em. It has the points value and the core system on em. They are a about a year old so pretty current. They have an awesome weight watchers pizza in the cookbook. I used turkey sausage and low fat cheeses on it.

Ohhh i have to tell you. Everyone at work teases me about being on lc and they roll their eyes. I made them try the pizza today. They loved it and want to make it at work. They always ask me what i have in my "suitcase" (my huge cooler). You know for them making fun of me they sure are curious about what i am eating. I just can't wait till i drop a ton of weight and say told you so!

Well girls i have to go work out. Bedtime comes fast. I am on my 3-12's. I did not sleep well at all last nite. Be well and take care of yourselves.

I didn't feel nauseous or anything. I wondered about being dehydrated. I told my hubby last night as we went to bed I didn't think that I was drinking enough. I was taking a hot shower as I normally do. I guess that my sweetie was just enough to push that hotness over the edge. I remember feeling hot and then faint. That's it. I am drinking the water today.

I am making spaghetti tonight. With smoked sausage in the sauce. I don't have lc noodles like I thought I did, so I am not sure what I am gonna eat. I will have some salad and maybe some pizza. I dunno yet.

Hi!

Stacy: HOW ARE YOU??????? Oh my God how scary that you fainted. I'm so sorry to hear that! Wonder what caused you to faint? (The first part of your shower w/ hubby sounds great) I hope that it never happens again to you and that it was just some weird electrolite imbalance or something.

The bowel movement fainting did happen to my niece and my cousin. They went out cold for some seconds and landed on the floor. It's so weird how different things are "hooked up" in the body.

I've always been interested in medical things. VERY interested. I actually can sit on the internet for hours just reading and reading about medical conditions, or just anything in the medical field. Before the internet, I would read books and magazines. When my brother was going to college for a Profusionist, I helped him study and while it was really intense, detailed things, I absolutely loved helping him study. Later on he changed his field and he is now a Respiratory Therapist. I should have been a doctor. No kidding! So Eve, any time you want to get technical, I'm all ears! Interesting about the brain and glucose. My friends call me quite often and tell me their symptoms and they say....."so what do you think I got?" Hahahaha!

Thanks guys, for the information about the calories. So you guys really don't watch calories........interesting. For me, I need to. I can imagine myself eating quite a bit if I didn't. Whatever it takes, right?

Thank you for the offer of your Weight Watchers books Eve. My Mom had a few, so I "borrowed" hers. It discusses the points also, and there is also a pretty big recipe book, so I've been checking that out. Thank you again, but I think I am all set here with these books from my Mom.

So........now I know what loaded broccoli is. I think I'll try a few of the toppings.....will have to go shopping first!

Well, I think I've got the cleanest house in the world right now. Wow! I spent all day cleaning. Deep cleaning. It was rainy and crappy outside, so I cranked the tunes and went for it. Even had Ken pull out the fridge, stove and microwave hutch and I got under that. Did the baseboards and washed every stitch of bedding. All kinds of things today.

Then at night my brother came over and we watched a movie. He kept mentioning popcorn. Ohhhhh, ok.........I made it. I only make the "real" stuff.......on the stove with oil. Yup, buttered too. And salt. And guess who ate a bowl? ME! I did sooooo great this week and I topped it off with that. I wish I would have eaten alittle less. I had a cool-whip bowl full. We'll see what the scale says now that I've eaten that salt! It's so sad how just a small bowl of popcorn can retain the fluids. CRAZY!

I'm thinking about going to the mall tomorrow. We'll see what I feel like in the morning. Right now it's 2:00 in the morning. I always seem to get a second wind when I should be going to sleep!!!

Well, that's about all for now. I hope the other girls check in soon.

(Stacy.......let us know how you're feeling)!

See ya,
Betty Lou

Good Morning!

Hiya!

I am doing well. Thank you for asking, Betty Lou! I wonder if the fainting had to do with stress? Whatever it was, I sure did not hop in the shower with my hubby this morning.

I weighed in at 161 this morning. Not doing too bad. The loss has slowed way down again. But, that is to be expected, I guess.

I signed up for the basic motorcycle safety course for next weekend. I have been riding around with a permit, decided that instead of just going to the DMV and taking the test, I would go ahead and take a class, get familiar with some other riding techniques and I won't have to test at the DMV, I will test with the class. Wish me luck. I am sure that I will actually be fine, but I am still a bit nervous. One of the cool things is, the teachers are female.

Ok, we are gonna take the boys to lunch so that we can get back and clean up the house and the yard a bit. Hope that y'all have an awesome day! Talk to ya later!

Hey ladies~! How's everyone doing?

Stacy, read about the shower snooze, I really hope you are feeling better and there's nothing wrong. I'm sure that scared DH.

I'm trying my best to get back on track. Even hubby is trying to lose. Our cholesterol was high for both of us last doc visit. So he has been taking salads to work and I'm trying low carb on him. So far he has lost 7lbs in only a week.. makes me sick!!!! But I want him to feel better. He had got up to 265lbs. I wouldnt have thought he was that high. but I guess you just get use to it after a few years. I gained back to 212. I've not been on the scales since we started, so I'm gonna let my jeans tell me what Ive lost. I cant believe I got to 191 and let it slip.. just too easy.

I'm hoping to get down a few lbs for this weekend. We're going camping and also at Windrock there's a Spring Event. mud bogs, tractor pulls etc.. so redneck... but fun..
We are actually draggin out the baby camper. I cant wait. I hope I get good pics this year. Just have to get a good camera.

I'll ck back in tomorrow.. I really need to get back and post. It helps so much..

more later girls~~!
