Hi Girls!

Well, I guess I'm going to have to go grocery shopping soon. Yuk. Hate it. But, luckily hubby doesn't mind going. In fact he would RATHER! That's fine with me. Running out of everything, and that's when we start "picking" trying to put some meals together. So, this weekend that will be one thing to do. It's supposed to be very nice out this Friday and Saturday. I hope I can get out in the yard and clean some stuff up from all this winter-time crap! Pretty soon get out the lawn and porch furniture, the grill (yay)! and we have a really nice open fireplace thing that we stuff with wood and just burn and burn out on the back deck on cool summer evenings ..... or even hot summer evenings! Get a few drinks going with friends.......light all the candles.....and I even pull out the pillows and light blankets and after partying just kinda lay around and enjoy the fire and stars and sounds of nature. My back yard is totally woods. While my house is on a medium traffic highway, my back yard is like camping in the woods. Aaaahhhhhhh I can't wait to be able to do all that this summer again. I just love the summertime!

Paula, thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you. I see you were the "starter" of this whole thread! Looks like you took some time off (we all need to do that now and then)......but really happy to find all you friends here!

Stacy: Your vacation sounded GREAT! I was laughing in parts, as I can totally relate! Kinda funny, because.....in the beginning it's not so bad when something goes wrong with a bike. Ok, you pull over, try to fix it, whatever. Gets fixed and you are on your way again. Everybody is happy. Then 4 hours later, something else happens. Pull over. Ok, not too bad....fix it again, and you're on your way. Well, after the 6th time it starts to get irritating!!!!!! HAHAHAHA! Even though you know it can't be helped, and the person on the bike is pissed, you still roll your eyes....."not again!" I checked out some of the pics on your site. I laughed to myself again at push-starting the bike! I can't tell you how many times we have done that for friends........and even ourselves! One particular time my husband broke a break cable and some other cable that if we shut the bike off, it would not have started again. Yes it was dangerous, but what can you do? Sooooo, every time we came to a red light, we had to plan 15 seconds ahead and instead of stopping, because we couldn't, we would go in circles in a parking lot, or in circles in the middle of the road, just to keep going, and then when the light turned green, off we went like normal. This went on for like 4 hours until we got home! It's really funny now that I think back on it. And the SNOW you guys ran into! UGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! BONE CHILLING!!!!! If it was 30 degrees, then on the bikes it was like 10 degrees! I'm sorry you had to run into that snow! Good pic of you and your friend warming up in the bathtub! But you know what? Sometimes those are the times we remember the most. You hate it, but you love it.

Eve, I'm SO GLAD that your back is feeling better. That didn't take long at all! Sometimes I go a few months with a flare up.....so I definitely know how you felt. The back puts a damper on everything. Glad you're back up and running 100%!

You're so lucky to be getting a boat. And I see where you guys ran into snow too!!!!!! I don't evny you in that department! LOL! Do you live on the lake? That would be my dream. I grew up on Lake Erie at my grandparent's cottage. Then they sold that and my grandfather built a house on Lake Erie. I lived with them for a long time (no problems at home,,,,,at all, but just loved being with my grandparents, so I kinda split the time up between homes). Anyway, the wonderful sandy beach, swimming at midnight, the bonfires and roasting corn and my uncle playing that stupid guitar after a few beers all on the beach. I live about 5 miles away from the lake, so I try to go there every chance I can get in the summer. Listening to those waves are so relaxing. So, when do you think you'll be able to pick up the boat? You'll definitely have to take pictures of it. I would love to see it.

I'm finally getting into a routine with the resistance bands. I did the bands on my legs the other night. Ummmm.....not sure I'm going to be able to do too much of that. It kind of flared my sciatic nerve up a bit. Or maybe I'll just have to back off alittle on that part of the ol' bod. Upper workout was no problem. It really felt good. Even if I'm not able to do the bands on the legs, I am walking, so walking should take care of the lower part! I hope, anyway!

Well, guys, that's about all for now. See ya later!

Betty Lou

Wow we are on page 30!

Hi ladies!

Great to hear from u Paula. Sorry u were going through rough times.
Hope all is well now. Is there anything we can do to help? If you need to talk privately, I would not mind a pm as i am sure neither would the other lovely ladies on here. I just don't want u to feel alone. To heck with the weight gain anyways. Sometimes u just gotta focus on other things for a time. Oh btw, It felt great to smash that scale. I recommend it to everyone.

Stacy, still gotta check out your space. I promise i will get to that

ROFLMAO: Did i mention my hubby bought some raffle tickets to benefit the hockey league? It was for a hockey equipment bag of booze OMG he won. He came home today with all this booze. 10 bottles of liquor and 10-6 pks of micro brews. and the equipment bag. What in the heck am i going to do with all that! Okay well i am going to have my semi annual bonfire party at the end of May.

Betty Lou, I don't live on a lake but i like u have woods in my back yard and a creek runs through the middle of my property. Last spring the creek flooded and my horse barn was sitting in a foot of water. I generally have the bonfire down by the creek but my stonehenge ( that is what i call my fire pit cuz it has these huge rocks around it) was under water. We had to move it further up the bank. We will be taking the boat to a place called yellowtail dam. It is this dam that is surrounded by this beautiful canyon wall. The water is so clear and blue and there all these secret coves. Oh don't worry, i will be taking lots of pics. Yeah thanks, my back is a lot better. I was sweatin it though. tomorrow i have to work and then do the wine and beer tasting for relay for life. So it will be a long day, and i was worried. But, i think i am good.

Okay gotta get my scrubs together for work. You all take care and be well

PS: some pics taken outside my back door. This is what i see on most days.

Just about on my way out to go to work. Hoping to get home before the kids do. Then again, I have put my hubby in charge of the house today (to include dinner), so I ain't gonna stress out too much.

My weight stayed the same today as it was yesterday. 164.5. I am coming up with a new weight loss game plan. I really want to get that 15 pounds off (secretly 20) in the next month.

My sweetheart is going to sit down and write out the story of our trip. He is a great storyteller, so I am excited to read it. The last couple of days, he has been working the story out in his head and has mentioned different parts of it to me. I have always told him that he should write for a living.

Oh, BTW, starting Monday, my DH will be able to start writing insurance policies. Wish us luck. Hopefully he will kick some serious butt!

Hey Paula i was wondering where you were. I feel off the blog for a while too but needed to get back here cause i wasn't do good on my own.

Still fighting this cold, can't seem to shack it. Still at 229, no change there even though i have been very active and eating lots of fish.

Stacy your trip has me cracking up...boy murphy's law really stinks sometimes.

My Sweetheart is writing out the story from this past weekend. He posted this first part on the motorcycle forum that we frequent. I think that he will be fine if I post it here also.

“The Cursed Journey”
A Story of Perseverance

The ride was meticulously planned. An epic adventure, to be sure. Ride from Colorado Springs, Co. to Flagstaff, Az. the first day, meeting up with other riders from the area along the way. Motel stay that night. Tour scenic Arizona- places such as Jerome, Sedona, Mingus Mountain, to name a few, then ride up to the Grand Canyon. We’d camp there, witnessing the majestic sunset to s’mores and firelight, enjoying the company of good friends while knocking back cold beer and charred hot dogs. The next morning would bring the sights of the Canyon, followed by a ride through Navajo country up to Moab, Ut. Camping on the Colorado River in Moab would include a sandy beach for a refreshing dip in the river. The next morning we’d load up the bikes and tour Arches National Park before riding east towards home. Sounds like a must-see event, right? It was for me, one I couldn’t miss. Besides, what could possibly go wrong?

Hi!

Shoulda had the green beans. LOL! Had corn instead. WITH a small boiled potato. And chicken. I normally don't do 2 carbs in one meal. Kinda regret it now. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. Guess that's not TOO bad, at least it's not a candy bar!

I just want to get this weight off and I am really watching it. Not coming off as fast as I think it should. Well, I'm not 20 years old anymore either. I've really stepped up the resistance bands and have not skimped on the walking. Well, one thing for sure, the scale SURELY CAN'T GO UP IN POUNDS!

Eve, NICE SCENERY in your backyard! How nice!!! Nature is great!

Stacy, nice story that your sweetie wrote. "What possibly could go wrong?" Funny....!

Ruby, hope you can get rid of your cold! Feel better soon!

Hello Paula!

Well, tomorrow I am planning to get outside and do some yardwork. Hubby stayed home from work today and did alot of raking, burning leaves, etc. So that's a nice head start. They say a possible record high tomorrow......about 78 degrees for Saturday! Wow! That is so unusual for Buffalo.....and then on Sunday, in the 60's, but most likely rain. That's ok.......we've had a beautiful week.

See ya!

Stacy i know how you feel. I know what i need to do but i keep making the wrong choices.

I was really bad this weekend. Eatting fastfood and lots of other no nos but i kept active walked 3 or 4 times this week with the whole family

Saturday went to the Star Wars exhibit with Hubby and 5yo son. It was good but definitely not worth 20.00. We went at night so it was discounted to 10.00. Had a hot dog w/ bun and some tortitto chips and cheese dip.

Sunday went to other house did more painting and yard work. Then came home and rotated the soil, raked and planted seeds for veggie garden. Then came in and did 2 loads of laundry, dusted, dishes, swept and ran to grocery store....boy was i tired by 9:00.

Excellent recipe for you to try. Horseradish pickled beet deviled Eggs.

Either hard boil eggs, peel and put in beet juice to pickle or buy them already done. 1/2 them. Take yoke smash, then mix with mayo and (1/2 tsp for 6 eggs) horseradish. Fill egg back up with mixture. These are sooooooo good.

That is a really interesting looking recipe. Interesting enough that I am intrigued. May have to try that soon.

Ugh 166.5 today. But, I brought it on myself burgers (with buns), hot dogs (more buns), nachos, chips, and other yummy, shouldn't have very often and definitely not all at once, foods this weekend. Even worse than the weight though, is how crappy I feel. And, to think, I brought it all on myself.

So, I get online at the motorcycle forum that I hang out at, and one of the guy's soon to be ex wife got on there and posted to me! "ugh . . . attention ***** with a pot belly! Get a grip and remember that you are a parent and this is soooooooo totally not cool" Wow! Can you believe that? I have never even met or talked to the woman. I guess that she didn't like my new sig pic. I knew (along with everyone else) that it wasn't the guy that had posted. It was just crazy to see that. So, there has been a discussion about it going on since yesterday morning. I am attaching the pic on here. BTW, my kids thought that it was great that I had the pic done, they like it. I got great kids!

Gotta run. Gotta go to work for a bit.

Nothing much going on here today. Not even sure what i am going to eat. Guess i will just see how the day unfolds.

Hugs to u all and i will give a detailed report later today. Be well

Hiya!

Got a few insurance surveys to do today. Hopefully they won't be too hard. I did two yesterday- wanted to do 5. Got to the first house and it was a bit difficult, ok- whatever. Then I try to go to the 2nd house. The address is no where to be found. I call the office, they have me call the insurance agent. The insurance agent is mad at me cuz there is no reason for this to be done on a house that has just been built. I told him they send the paperwork and I just go to where they want me to. I have no idea why they send me where they do. So, he tells me the address is off of two major intersections. Fine, I will go check it out. Drove around for forever. Couldn't find the address. I stop by a realtor's office that is right there. They have no idea. I find a group of guys hanging out in the street (I think they were working on one of the houses), they get the GPS out. They can't find it. So, I am leaving the neighborhood, I call my DH and he gets on the county assessor site. About that time- I find it! Woo-hoo! As I pull up to the driveway, my husband asks a couple of questions about the house, he had also found the info. It took me an hour and a half to find a house, then forever to measure it cuz it was bizarrely shaped. I came home after that.

My DH got his agent number yesterday. That means he can finally start writing up policies. He is gonna call one of our buddies today and ask for his information so that he can put it into the computer and work up a quote. There is an experienced agent at the office named Mark. My husband worked with his brother at the dealership (they had no idea til yesterday. ) Mark has taken Jerrimy under his wing to help him get started. That's really cool. You know what else is cool? My husband finally has a job where he can take off for lunch if he wants to. And a job with (almost) normal working hours. We had lunch together for the first time ever, while working, yesterday. And, he was home at dinnertime.

I am back down to 164.5 this morning. Dunno what my deal is lately. I can't seem to step away from the carbs. Gotta get that under control. Isn't it sickening how easy it is to fall back into old habits after having kicked them?

catching up

Okay wheww where to start. First of all hello all u lovely ladies How goes the battle of the bulge? giggle giggle. Mine sucks big time! Oh well, what can u do but keep trying. I went to go work out this morning and did one set of abs and arms and chest and said "I don't feel like doing this." So gave up and piddled around in the house. Took darling roxie for a ride to get her a treat. Came back and d/l some song to iTunes. Some Chrissy Hines, Rick Nelson, ELO, and some other stuff. I cleaned my fridge, (i hate that job), did some laundry and then started sorting through my clothes that i need to get rid of. OMG that is so hard to do! I have so many nice clothes that i can not wear rite now and i hate to get rid of them. But, my closet is close to overflowing and so are my dresser drawers. Hmmmmm what to do. I will think on that one and come up with a plan. I did very well on doing lc yesterday and today. I think i peed my body weight today. So that means i am drinking my water! Haven't got the boat yet, Bozeman got a foot of snow (that is where the boat is). So now, my dh has to wait for another nice sunny day off. It was so nice out today i opened up all the window and sat out in the sunshine for a bit. Love the smell in the house when all the windows are open.

Stacy, am so glad u two are liking your new jobs and that u can actually have lunch together. Soon your dh and u will both be pros at your new jobs.
Glad u lost some weight after u got back from your trips. Gets a mega phone "Stacy, stay away from the carbs" I checked out yourspace. You have a pretty cool site. I don't have a myspace. I don't think i would do well with one. I didn't see anything wrong with your pic in the vest and bra/bikini top. You should be proud of how far u have come. That was alot of hard work and u deserve to show your success off! Damn straight!

Glad to see u back to the old lc grind Paula. Hang in there baby. I find after the first 3-4 days it gets a lot easier. Lordy when i cheat though i cheat good! Seems like it takes me 2-3 days to get back on track and then I undo everything i worked so hard at getting rid of. I keep losing the same weight over and over again.

Hey Ruby, i love horseradish. So with those deviled eggs u said u put the eggs in beet juice but u didn't say for how long. I would love to try that recipe. Do u just have the one child? How much longer do u have to go between two houses? Hope u r feeling better.

Betty Lou! hahahahah what have u been doing? How are the resistance bands going? Did u get your yard done this weekend? Hey since u work for a school, do u get the summers off? I'd like some more of your practice pics. Lets see some of the harley.

Okay well i have to finish doing stuff around here and try to workout again! hahahah. I want to paint my nails tonight. Slutty Red!

Good Morning!

Up one pound today. I need, need, need to get back on track. I do have new motivation for that. A group of gals that I went to high school with and I are planning a mini reunion. We went to school in Germany- our parents were military. Now we are spread out all over the US. Thanks to the internet, we have found each other over the years. Now, we are finally putting plans together to have a girls weekend. With the guys. In Vegas. Woo-hoo! So, depending on the time of year we go with, I may be able to ride my bike there (it is a 12 hour ride for us). Then again, a quick plane ride isn't bad either.

I had such a horrible day yesterday. I scheduled myself to do 4 insurance survey. Quick day. Couple of hours. No biggie. I get to the first place and see that no one lives at the house. Nice. Easy. I get my paperwork together and realize that the kids have moved my measuring wheel to the trunk. So, I put my keys and phone down, get out and the car door closes. And locks itself. Keys and phone inside the car. You have got to be kidding me! So, I walk to the house next door, ring the bell, then wait for a minute. As I am getting ready to leave, this little old man, on oxygen, and using a walker answers the door. I felt so bad for bothering him. I tell him what happened and asked if I could use his phone. He lets me do that and I call my husband. I ask him to leave work to go get me the second set of keys. His work is 13 miles from home and I am another 15 miles away from there. So, he does that and gets to the house and can't find the other set of keys. BTW, I did have my bluetooth, so, DH was able to call me, I just couldn't call him. After about half an hour of searching for the keys, calling me, and texting our daughter he is about to give up and call roadside assistance. About this time, he really needs to hurry because he is supposed to meet with the district manager for some training. Then, our daughter remembers that the keys are in her work pants pocket upstairs in the dirty clothes. So, my hubby grabs the keys and sprints out to bring them to me. During this time, the gentleman that let me use his phone has brought me a chair to sit on, asked me if I am warm enough, and also offered me a drink. I love this guy. I plan on sending him a thank you note today. Anyway, I am maybe 15 minutes from the house. 15, 20, 25 minutes go by. No husband. I was getting really worried. Then he calls. He went way past the street, he was turning around. At 1:00, he arrives to save the day. His appointment was scheduled for 1:00, so he dashes back to work. I get my survey done (two hours after I get there.) He gets to work and the manager had to leave because his kid was sick. The meeting was rescheduled. The next survey I went to wasn't better. Bad neighborhood, pit bulls attempting to jump fences, no trespassing sign- I don't even bother. Royal pain in the butt. Sorry for the vent.

Anyway, today is starting out ok. Bacon and eggs (with coffee) for breakfast. I have a dinner/bar shop tonight, so I won't guarantee anything. It is at a biker bar, so I am gonna ride my motorcycle there and meet my hubby when he gets off work. Maybe I will let him pick me up.

Hi Everybody!

Well today was "Administrative Professionals Day" -- aka "Secretary's Day." Had a great time at work......well, if you could call work a great time! Hahahaha! The bosses had a real nice luncheon for us in the Board Room. It was GREAT to see them setting it up (Superintendent, and the rest were the other Administrators......all men......except one woman). It was REAL nice. Balloons, homemade desserts (ok, I had a small brownie), salad, sandwich wraps. It was also really great to see them CLEAN IT ALL UP!!! While we took breaks.......like most of the day the bosses sat at our desks and answered the phone and did office things. So, all in all, a pretty nice day. Then on Friday, me and 5 other secretaries from the other schools are going to Applebees, then out for ice cream. That is our usual thing....so will have to have that Only 8 ice cream or something. I'll figure something out. And the bosses are going to pay for that too!

Oh, Eve, you asked before if I had to work the summers. YES! God I wish I had summers off! But nooooooo......I work 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 every day. Actually summer is a busy time switching files around and registering new students. Out with the old (grade 12), and in with the new (Kindergarten)! I do have 5 weeks vacation though and 3 personal days and get to use them whenever I want.

Other than that, I'm hanging in there. Went for another long walk today with my Dog Emma (Shep). She is so great on a leash. I bet I could walk her with my little finger only on the leash. I might not even need a leash at all, but definitely won't take that chance with traffic.

It's alittle discouraging, as I really think I should have lost a little more in the 5 weeks that I did. Lost about 7-8 pounds only......IN 5 WEEKS! I am NOT cheating, not eating high carbs, not eating high fats. I just don't know. I am walking every night. Do resistance bands every other day or every couple of days. I'm not giving in though, it's just GOT to go down. Seems like I plateaued on the second week! Hahahaha! I don't think ANYBODY plateaus on the second week.......now maybe after 2 months, then I can see it.

I'm not giving up. This has GOT to come off!

Well, American Idol will be coming on in a few minutes........so gotta go!

Have a great night!

Betty Lou

That is wonderful weight loss!! I am proud of ya!

Just got home from a dinner shop. Didn't do so hot. The good news is I have no more food shops, I can get back on track now.

It looks as though, the mini class reunion is gonna be in Oct. There is a great motivator to take the last of the weight off.

My high school sweetheart has been PMing me today. It has been so long. He really was a great guy. Seems to be still. Happy to hear from him. And, I am of course saving all of the emails in case DH wants to see them. :-)

I have been just so busy...i don't know how you guys find the time to post.

I feel like the other house is a never ending story....there is so much to do and so little time..the realtors want to get it on the market asap and we just don't have enough time to get there finish painting, fixing issues and cleaning out the clutter. Not to mention plant flowers mow the lawn and mulch.

I haven't weighed but i don't think i lost anything...I have been eatting carbs so why bother. I think it's the depression over the house...I am a mood eater.

Well have to run i am being shadowed by my boss today. TTYL
