Hi All!

VERY busy day at work today and I'm beat. Fell asleep for an hour after work. It was too cold to go for a walk, but I "knew" I wasn't going to go today anyway, as I have to give the ol' back a rest. Sooooo, I had every intention of starting my resistance bands. But nope, didn't do that. I talked myself right into "Wednesday is a good rest day!" LOL! As far as eating.........still hanging in there and doing good. I just hope next Monday when I weigh in it shows some kind of loss.

Eve: Did you really smash your scale? You're too funny! I hope you smashed the crap out of it and that it FELT GOOD! Good for the mind, hee hee! So, BTO gets you going? They are good. Saw them in concert once, then I saw Randy Bachman play with The Guess Who (2 years ago). Very good concert! I am a BIG-TIME concert goer. I LOVE going to concerts. The last one I went to was just over a month ago. Saw Bruce Springsteen. 3rd time I saw him. Wow - what a powerful show. My 2 absolute FAVORITE concerts are/were Paul McCartney (saw 4 times) and Bob Seger (saw about 7-8 times). Seger just recently went on tour, and while he's alittle older and alittle grayer.......he still ROCKS! I mostly like Classic Rock. And you are right, you HAVE to have some good tunes playing to get going! I guess that means I should put some tunes on and move my butt! Nahhhhh, not tonight!

Stacy: Being in Amherst, you are very near Buffalo, AND Niagara Falls. Have you ever seen the falls? They are GREAT! Being we are so close, I've seen them over 1000 times, but it is still facinating! Viewing them from the Canadian side is the best. At night, they light the falls up in different colors. Beautiful. Plus there is SO MUCH more to do than on the American side. Hope everything is going good on your training. Hope you had a chance to have some GOOD wings. They are all over the place. Hope you picked out a nice spot.

Ruby: Hope your feeling better! I love tomato soup the best, but the carbs are pretty high for only 1/2 cup. Plus then I like to throw in some TownHouse crackers. So, guess that's a no-no!

Well, that's about it for now. Nothing too exciting. Except that my husband installed our new dishwasher last night. Our other one lasted 17 years. But wow.....we did a small load of dishes and they are sparkling, and I mean SPARKLING clean! So I guess it was time. Boy the price sure adds up. I got a pretty nice one.....$499.00. Then with the warranty and tax it was almost 700 dollars! Geesh!!!!! Well, it's worth it as I HATE doing the dishes.

Have a great night!

Betty Lou

Hi Ladies!

Just checking in real quick. I am packing up so that I can check out in the morning! Hooray! I just wanna be home. I am such a baby.

We (four other classmates) rode out to Niagra Falls this evening. Wow! I have never been there before. It was beautiful! The sound of the water was awesome! I hope to come be a tourist sometime soon with my husband. I had one of my classmates take a pic of me. Excuse the hair.

LC is not happening this trip. Sandwiches and pizza today. I wish we were fed real food. But, I haven't been overeating, so I hope that helps me.

Yes I really did!

LOL yes i really did beat the crap out of that scale. It was alot tougher to take down than i thought. I said "Scale-----you and i are gonna rumble." I was victorious.

Ohhhh niceeeeeee. You got to see the falls Stacy thats great. They look awesome. I have never been to them either. Crashing water lets off positive ions. Thats y u feel so charged up and great feeling after visiting the ocean or waterfalls, so i have read. Does the ground shake near the falls? That sucks that they haven't feed u real food. Didn't they even offer salads? What happens if u were a vegetarian? I can't wait for u to get home too! lol your posts are bigger when u r home. Question is, did u learn anything interesting?

Betty Lou I haven't been to a lot of concerts lately. I wonder y? I do enjoy them. Last one i was at was a John Mellencamp one. My girlfriend is related to him and we got back stage passes. I really enjoyed the Allman brother and Little Feat. Saw parts of the band to Steppen Wolf at Sturgis during the bike rally. I don't remember much that nite. I have seen Heart and lol remember loverboy? Styx, April Wine, Cheap trick, Kansas, Doobie Brothers. After the concert with cheap trick, we went to a bar and we were hanging out and cheap trick showed up just to hang out. I wanted to see cher but her tickets were over a hundred bucks. I would have loved to see tina turner in her heyday. Eagles were here last year and their tickets were 200 bucks. I love the Eagles too. I like all kinds of music actually. My best friend is 28 and she keeps me updated. She is always burning me CD's and forcing me to listen to them.

Don't worry Betty Lou, u will get your motivation for exercising. It will happen. I didn't do eliptical tonite. My left knee is bothering me and it is slightly swollen. I just lifted weights and did abs.

Well time to get to bed. I didn't sleep well last nite and I am going to get to bed a little earlier. Sighs, the staffing coordinator asked if i would cover a shift this weekend. I really don't want to, but then i feel guilty. I probably will do it though. Overtime.

Ps: Thanks for sharing the pics Stacy

Hi ladies

How goes it? Been behaving on the eating part. Watched the movie last nite and then i was too tired or lazy to go and exercise. That means i need to do it rite when i get home so i don't have time to talk myself out of it.

Betty Lou, your trick worked great. There were brownies and choco chip cookies at work and I was thinking about having one. I said to myself that if i was good all day that maybe i could have one later. Later came and decided i could have one tomorrow if i wanted. I never did have one. Thanks to your grandma She must have been a really wise lady.

Stacy are u back yet? How was your flight home? I want to hear all about your trip to buffalo and your motorcycle trip as well. Hope it is going well for you. I bet your family was soooo happy to see you. Did they kiss the ground you walked on when u got back?

Justine how are u doing? Hope u r feeling better. Let us know whats going in your part of the world. That would have been great if you could have gone and visited Stacy while she was out that way.

Well I am 206.2. I think i had a lot of salty stuff yesterday. I didn't drink my water like i should have. So today I am going to work on the water issue and try to keep the salt a little lower. It is suppose to be a wonderful day today. I have sooo much that needs to be done like laundry and reorganizing some closets and shelves. I want to make more of those cleo rolls. I picked up an extra shift on Saturday. It is only an 8 hour one so it should fly by before i know it and that will leave me plenty of time after work to do a few things at home. We hope to go pick up our boat on Wednesday. I can not wait. We had to wait for some of the snow to stop. It is a 3 hour ride to where it is at and we have to go through a mountain pass. We really don't want to be towing an 9,000 lbs boat on icey roads. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Hope to hear from Paula and Mary.

TTYL. Be well

Hi there!

Doing pretty good here. Ate a good breakfast of poached egg, 3 bacon slices, and 2 slices of lc toast. Coffee and water. I added benefiber to my coffee. You really can not taste that stuff or even tell it is in the coffee. I will suffer the 4 carbs per teaspoon. For lunch i had tuna fish on celery. Lots of water.
then i worked out and didn't feel much like eating supper. I did make a mocha ricotta cheese dessert. It is really kinda good. Got some stuff around home done and didn't go anywhere! Dh and ds both left for work in the afternoon. So i had the house to myself. Watched Elizabeth the golden age. It was a pretty good movie. Clive Owen is such a hottie. I worked abs, did 30! min on the eliptical ( one of my goals was to work up to 30 min.) Then i worked my back. Then i danced around a bit cuz i felt so good. I won't be getting on the scale again till Monday. I don't want to obsess over some darn ol' scale cuz if i gain then it will affect how i feel the whole dam day. Then i would be subject to emotional eating. How are you all doing on your plans? Hope it is going good. I sure miss u all.

Take care and be well

Hello everybody!

Hope everybody is having a great weekend! Today, Saturday, was a lazy day for me.......YEAH!!!!!!!!! I planned on doing this, that and the other thing, but it didn't turn out that way. I haven't done 'NOTHING' in a long long time! Tomorrow hubby and I are going to go up to the mall. There are a few things I want/need. For one, I am looking for a new computer chair, but not for my computer setup. It's for my bedroom and my little corner where I get ready in the morning. My other one broke. My dog jumped up on me one night and pushed me over....almost. I was leaning back in the chair and the stupid leg broke on it and it can't be repaired. So, time for a new chair. Plus I want to check out some new shoes/sandals. Like I don't have enough already! LOL!

Eve, I'm glad that my "trick" worked for you! I use it alot......."just can't have it right NOW." That does help, doesn't it? It's like a "pass" where you can save it and use it later. Hahaha! Sounds funny, but it works!

Wow, and you are still really exercising alot! Again, I give you alot of credit! That's great! I went for a walk yesterday. It was so nice outside......about 70 degrees! As I was walking with Blaze (tan dog in pic), I noticed the wind starting to pick up and it started getting dark. Got back to my car just in time. The big drops of rain started coming down! I time that just right! At night we had a thunder storm. I love thunder storms and lightning! (Crazy, aren't I)? LOL! I live on a semi-busy highway with no sidewalks, so I have to drive myself somewhere and park and then go for a walk. Oh well..... The next few days are going to be in the 40 degree range again. Ugh! Possible snow tomorrow! So, no walk for me if it's cold!

Stacy, I'm soooo glad that you got to visit Niagara Falls! Pretty neat sight to see isn't it? And I'm sure you looked across to the Canadian side. You probably saw all the lights, buildings, and things to do over there. If ANYBODY gets a chance, that is definitely a good vacation spot. There is a TON of things to do. Maid of the Mist (where a boat takes you for a ride on the river right next to the falls.....and yes, you get wet)! You can go under the falls in these cave things and there are portholes to look out from BEHIND the falls. Lots of trinket shops, beautiful scenery, very fancy casino's, leather shops, jewelry shops, movie places, big screen, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Amusement park, ice cream shops, a ton of restaruants, very cool wax museums, and a TON of other things to do. On a nice sunny day you can see rainbows coming out from the mist of the falls. Boy, it sure is gorgeous!

Still doing good in the eating department. I think this Monday will be the end of week 3 for me. So, we'll see how it goes........

Nothing else too exciting going on.......

Talk to you later!

Hey girls!
I have been bad, bad BAD! I had a rough day and well i made creme brule and ate it! Feelin kinda blue. Now am licking my wounds. Grrrrrrrrrrrr I could just kick myself. I even refused to exercise. Does anyone else get so frustrated that they don't know why they are doing this in the first place? I mean doing the lc dieting, exercising stuff. Ohhhh don't worry about me. This is just me being a baby today. I'm allowed that once in awhile huh? Must be the tom round the corner.

Great job Betty Lou at sticking to it for 3 weeks that is fantastic I can manage about 2 weeks before cheating lol The free pass helps though. How is the new dishwasher working? I use mine for storage It is not a very good one. It was in the house when we bought it. OMG hope u didn't get hurt when the dog knocked u over in the chair. Our mall doesn't cell furniture. Shoes yes! I love shoes. I really need to go through my closet and get rid of some stuff though. I was thinking about doing that tomorrow. I live out in the country. I am 4 miles from the interstate though and a few minutes from town. Very nice to walk in the neighborhood. 3 miles from me is river front park that has walk paths and bike trails all around and near the yellowstone river. Tons of ducks at the lake and wild geese. someone let loose a domestic rabbit and now there are all these wild rabbits that are chocolate brown and black and white and cream colored. I guess what they say about rabbits is true. But anyways is its a nice place to go for a stroll or just sit and watch the ducks. I have always wanted to go visit Niagra Falls. Sounds like a nice/fun place to go. I will have to put a bug in my husbands ear. My g/f went and said they went down these stairs near the falls and they had to wear rain jackets. We do this hike in the mountains that follows the still water river and there are small waterfalls and then u hike up to glacier lakes. Another place we like to go is "Hell Roaring Plateau" U can either hike it or u have to go by 4w drive. Once u get up to the top, there is an alpine meadow. We like to take the dogs with us. Well I am rambling now.

Hope everyone is well and safe. Need to get in bed. Tomorrow is a going to be a busy day in the yard.
everyone

okay the baby fit is over. Had a good lc breakfast and then did eliptical for 35 min! I know!! I was just steppin along to the music and before i knew it, i was at 35 min. Don't really want to go much more than that. Planned on doing weights later. Went grocery shopping and reached for something on a lower shelf and viola! my sacral iliac joint went out. So i had to clutch the grocery cart to get out of the store. It does this once in awhile. I have an exaggerated lordosis curve to my back (sway backed te hehehe) and it gives me trouble now and then. So i get home and my ds carried in the groceries for me and got me an ice pack and advil and water and fetched me my laptop. He even put all the groceries away. He is such a good kid. Called my chiropractor and left him a message to see if i can get in to see him first thing in the am. Then i called my co-workers to see if they would cover part of my shift. We shall see. Just had a salad with greens, baby spinich, and ranch and a beef brat. Drank lots of water. I am doing much better today. Attitude wise and with the eating.

Lol has anyone seen that go phone commercial with Meatloaf with that song "paradise by the dashboard light" ? I think that is really meatloaf. I wonder if that is really his son.

Okay ttyl. Hope everyone is doing well and sticking to their plans as best as they can. Let me know how u all are doing.

Hi!

Just got back from the mall a while ago.......went to Office Max to look for that chair. There were so many chairs to choose from that I couldn't make up my mind........so I didn't get ANYTHING!!! Oh brother, huh???

But I did find one that I loved for work. The only thing is that it came in the color "cream" only. So would probably get dirty fast, but.....boy was that comfortable. And it was a soft microfiber. I'm going to see if work will buy me that chair ($180.00) and then maybe I can take my old one home? I really doubt they will let me!!! Ok, maybe I should offer to buy it. I'll have to think about that one. I've been with the school system 29 years, sooooo, maybe I can talk to the right people and see what they'll do for me.

The $50.00 chairs were "okay." But after I sat in that cream colored one,.....WOW! But I really don't want to pay that much for a chair! LOL!!!

Eve, we are all entitled to a fit now and then. Just ask me! I'm pretty darn good at it! Dieting is really frustrating sometimes. It can actually get you down. But then, like you did, got back on the saddle and got back on track. I don't think that little bit of a cheat is going to do any harm. And why do we call it "cheat?" My God, we just want a little something now and then. And when we want it that bad, then it is our bodies calling for it. We must need that nutrient for some reason or another. Now, I'm not saying to eat 12 Krispy Creme donuts!!!! But maybe just one.

Went out to dinner to Applebees after the mall. Boy I was starving! I didn't have much to eat before dinner. Weekends screw my eating times up sometimes. Just had a poached egg on toast in the morning, then around 3:00 had an apple. So, it was about 7:00 p.m. when we went to eat. I had a steak, grilled shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. God those potatoes were good! Kind of on the sweet side. When I go out to eat, I do not eat the whole meal. But I did eat "enough" of the potatoes this time! Not that that's a bad thing, as I am allowed 4 servings a day (of 15 grams or whatever each). So, I probably did......geesh......I don't know.....30-40 (?) or so. So, still within limits, but you're supposed to spread that out during the course of the day!!! I am trying to stay around 1200 or 1400 calories per day. I'm not a maniac checking all the calories on boxes everyday......I've got a good grip on what the serving size should be for certain foods.

About the Meatloaf commercial. I checked it out on YouTube. That WAS Meatloaf, and the kid was not his son. It was an actor and his name is Adam Cagley. Meatloaf has 2 daughters only.

Well, that's about all for now. Gotta get my stuff ready for work tomorrow.

PS: Eve, sorry about your back! You sound like me now,.....ice and Advil. I hope you are feeling better soon!!! And I hope it doesn't take too long to start feeling better!!! Please be careful at work, ok? Maybe could even call in and rest?

Talk to you all later!

Betty Lou

I gained

Well the scale said 209.6. TOM any day now. Wondering if it is the sodium intake or too much lc breads. Going to cut back on the lc breads. Despite not being able to walk much, I am still in a pretty upbeat mood. See the chiropractor at 10:00 this morning. He is a good friend of ours. My family has always used the services of a chiropractor. I remember when i was little my mom and dad going to one. Some feel they are quacks. I am just not ready for the knife yet. So i played hookie from work. I very very rarely call in sick. I remember that is what i used for leverage when i asked for a raise. I had worked there for 5 years and had never missed a day. lol i got my raise. I just feel so dam guilty though for not being at work. Especially since i had Fri-Sat-Sun off was suppose to work today and then i have Tue-Wed-Thu off. So it kinda looks bad. Oh well. I did pick up this last Sat for em though.

Wonder if Stacy is suppose to be back today? I think she was flying back on Friday and then taking off for a camping trip over the weekend. Hope she had good camping weather and it all went well. Last time i camped was in Wisconsin. It rained its a---- off. Water was pouring through our tent. The campground had a little bar and grill so we went and drank beer until we didn't care how wet we were. omg. Woke up the next morning and found out a really bad storm had blown through that nite with tornadoes in some areas. My dh kept saying that nite "you know, we can go get a hotel room if u want." Nahhhh i wanted to tough it out.

Waves to Paula, Justine, and Mary. Hope u all are doing okay. Give us all a holler. We miss you!

Hey Betty Lou thanks for the I appreciate it. You girls behave now. Be well

Hi ladies.

Sorry didn't post but i have been really sick and still fighting. On top of trying to get better, working and cleaning this hugh yard at new house and painting and cleaning at old house I'm exhausted.

Still weight 229, but i can't complain since i have not been good. I have been living on soup and crackers and dt soda...and any fast food husband will drag home so i don't have to cook...Just don't have the energy.

Stacy - the falls looked so inviting...i have never been and would love to take my girl scout troop camping there.

Well got to run need to keep working to make up for all the hours i have missed.

Oh yes Justine that is very hard work. I have moved several times in my life and it is no picnic. I bet u r exhausted. Doesn't help u r already sick and wearing yourself out, plus a little one to take care of. I hope u get to feeling better and are able to relax soon. We r here for ya girl.

Went to the chiro today. It helped some but the muscles were so tight that i have to go back tomorrow. This really sucks. This has put a whole monkey wrench into my whole exercise regimen. Andddddd..........it has been so nice out that i would have loved to be out in the yard and flower beds. Te he, least i get out of doing the dishes. They have to be done by hand.

Stacy are we still doing that 15 lb challenge by the end of May? I haven't eaten any lc bread today. I can feel the pounds pouring off te he i wish. I did sit down and enjoyed meself a cup of vanilla chai tea. No carbs

Did u ask work to buy u a chair Betty Lou? I hope u enjoyed those potatoes. U made my mouth water. I haven't had potatoes in a long time or rice or pasta for that matter./Users/leanewman/Desktop/CIMG0054.JPG

Justine, you moved? Wow, I'm SURE that is alot of work. I've lived in my house just over 20 years. When/if the time comes we do move I sure have a hell of a lot of crap to go through! Sooooo many knicknacks! And our garage is packed too! Moving takes alot of work and organization. Hope you are recovering from that! Also, hope you are starting to feel alittle better! It's been a few days now, so come on, get to feeling better!!!

Eve, you look GREAT!!! If that's what all that exercise does, then I've got to go for it just alittle more! You are so funny smashing that scale! I bet it felt good too! Your little Roxie is so cute too! She's (she?) saying what the heck do YOU want? Hee hee! Nice looking dog.

Actually, I did just over 15 minutes of the resistance bands tonight. Upper body. Felt pretty good! I did some leg and arm stretches also. This is the first I've pulled them out, so I know I have to do some stretching first. Soooo, it's a start. Gotta get into a routine now. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow (60's), so maybe I'll take Emma for a walk. Pending how the back feels. Got alittle sciatica and butt pain going on, but I should be able to do something. I like to walk at least 1 mile. Maybe I'll be able to get in a few minutes of resistance bands for the legs. I'll alternate. I don't want to be too sore all at once!

I weighed today. I think.......'THINK' I lost 2-3 pounds. We'll see what the scale says tomorrow. I don't like to say I actually lost anything until the scale reads the same for a few days. And besides that, I kind of go by "5's." Meaning, I don't feel like I've really lost until I hit that 5 pound mark and the scale goes to that next nice thick line on the way down. So, if I don't post all the time about the loss, that's why. Gotta be five pounds down! Ok, so I'm wierd. Soooooo, that brings me to about 207 pounds. I'll let ya know when I hit 205!

Eve, how many carbs and calories in a slice of low carb bread? I was just wondering. I eat regular bread. Sometimes white, most of the time wheat, and sometimes bran. I mix it up. You guys are really eating hardly any carbs, which I give you alot of credit. That is not a diet that I could stick to. Like I said, I'm "allowed" 4 servings of carbs a day, so if I DO have a sandwhich, or potatoes, (very small) that's all figured in. I'm actually doing low-fat AND lower carb. I am a carb lover. But I'm doing pretty good at watching it, so I guess I could be Low Carb too. But you guys are all REALLY low carb, almost nothing! But we are all here for the same reason, so whatever works the best for any particular person, that's what counts! Just get this freakin' weight off!!!

Mary, has your company gone home yet??? We haven't heard from you!!! Hope you are able to check in soon.

Stacy must be having a great time. Camping? Guess there's no way to hook up the laptop out in the woods. Who knows though, with all this technology! Hope the weather is nice for her and she is thoroughly enjoying ever second of it!

I love going on vacations. We are going for an overnighter on May 1st. Going to Niagara Falls Canada to the Casino, to the Avalon Ballroom. I'm taking my Mom to see Englebert Humperdinck. DON'T LAUGH!!! She really loves him and I thought it would be a nice get-away for her. We'll stay overnight one night, and probaby play a few slots too. She needs to get away after all she's been through with her cancer and doctor appointments. Our family used to travel all over......but my Dad died in December, 1999, so it has slowed up for her......not unless hubby and I take her someplace. I actually saw Englebert about 10 years ago (took my Mom and Dad). He actually wasn't too bad! But it will be nice just to go overnight.

Ok, that's the report for today! Talk to you later!

Hi everyone!

Back is feeling a little better. Using ice and advil still. I am tired of just sitting around though. Good idea on the resistance bands. I am pretty sure i can do those with out causing too much pain. Hmmmm gonna go run over to the appartment and get em. Better yet, i will ask my son to do it for me.

Hey Betty Lou, thanks for the compliments. It is wonderful to hear and jazzes me up all the more. It is much appreciated.

the low carb bread that i use is 6 grams of carbs. It is wheat and fiber. today i stayed away from the bread. I had scrambles eggs and sausage and bacon and cheese (one of those Hardies low carb breakfast bowls) and lunch i wasn't that much hungry so i i just had a ricotta cheese dessert. I mixed sf raspberry jello (the powder) and a little sf chocolate coffee syrup and some cream all together. It turned out to be a choc raspberry pudding kinda thingy. It was really good. For supper i had a salad with baby spinach and greens, a tomato, cheese, and some canadian bacon. topped with blue cheese drsg. 3 cups of spinach is equal to 3 carbs. So i had a lot of spinach. It did the trick. Then i had coffee later. I don't think i had as much water as i should have. I did have a vanilla chai tea earlier that was yummy. Something about hot tea when u r not up to par. Plus, it didn't have any calories in it.

Englebert hummpledink! OMG when i was little my dad would call me "CrocodileAligator,Kabooboostein,Englebert,Humpled ink" all together and i would sayyyyyyyyyy nooooooooo dad this is not my name. The Kabooboostein stuck though. My mom loves Englebert too. I didn't know
he was still performing. That is so sweet that u take your mom places. lol my parents are off being snowbirds in sunny southern California. They come over and visit a lot in the summer time though. They still live in South Dakota where i grew up. My dad is so excited about us getting a boat. He doesn't get excited about to much anymore. His health is really failing and he said he is tired of living I suppose when u get that age and u feel like u have accomplished all u want and your in more pain than not, then i guess i can understand. I am the one not ready for him to go though.

I guess i am starting to blab! I am going to go help my son do the dishes. I think i will supervise hahahaha

205.6! I knew i should have given up the lc bread. Seems to have done the trick. I think I am on a roll now. We shall see.

back feels a bit better. at least i can walk uprite. Still don't have full movement of my hips. See the chiropractor again today. I hope it adjusts properly. I will be riding in a truck for a few hours tomorrow to pick up the boat, and i hope that sitting for along time wont aggravate it.

okay need to get going. You all take care and will check in later this evening.

Be well. Hugs

Hello Ladies!

Just wanted to drop in and let you know that I am home. The scale said 169 this morning. I am really, really retaining water. I have no ankles. LOL!

I will try to post later on this evening. DH has homework to do on the computer and I am working on trying to figure out my schedule for the week- now that I have to work. Hehehe!
