just checking in

Hello Ladies!
Just rolled out of bed. Had my morning coffee and need to get going so we can look for a truck. We need a truck with a big engine to haul stuff around with. It doesn't have to look great, just do the job we want it to do. My dh has had these past two days off with me and it has been nice. Plan is to eat some eggs and some lc toast. Run errands and come back here and do some stuff around the house. I will lift some weights and do something aerobic. Not sure what that will be. I really really need to work on stretching. I have noticed that i have lost some flexibility over the last two years. Not sure what will be for lunch. Maybe some tuna fish and a salad. I watched "I can make u thin" last Sunday and that guy really has some great ideas and techniques that i can incorporate into my lc plan. This next Sunday he is going to talk about how to stop cravings. He says cravings are a learned behavior. And, if u can learn a behavior, u can also unlearn it. Hmmmmm interesting huh? Maybe it will work with those TOM chocolate cravings. Well Stacy, I am not sure about dexatrim. I think i had tried it in the past, and it didn't do anything for me. That was years ago and am sure they have made changes to the pill formula. I did try hoodia, and it only gave me heartburn. A doctor told me once that when women have that TOM and they gain all the water weight it is because the body craves salt. He said it is the salt that causes us to gain the water and not the hormones. Hmmmmmm I don't think i crave salt anymore than ususal during that time but maybe i need to pay closer attention. I do know that if u have heart problems or BP problems, u probably should stay away from dexatrim etc. How is the new job going Stacy? Probably keeping u extra busy. Wonder what Paula and Justine are up too? I miss them. Okay am off to the races and will check in middday. Take care and be well

When I did the 12 day makeover one of the things was you were not to add salt to your food. I am sure that is why I lost as much as I did as quick as I did.

I am down to 165 this morning. I'm sure that a lot of the gained weight is from my salt intake over the weekend.

I started the day with bacon and eggs. And coffee. I just used up the last of my cream, so I am going to try to survive without it. That may help me out a little bit.

Yesterday one of our biker friends put a picture on the motorcycle forum that I spend most of my time at. It was a picture of a pair of hot leather pants. (He has been looking for chaps for his girlfriend) He posted that he wants to see me in them. My husband posted that he could do that if his girlfriend will wear them also. For the first time, ever, I thought that I may want those. Of course, I would want a size 10 or maybe even a size 8. So, now I am contemplating a pair of leather biker pants. What is this world coming to? Although, if I buy a pair that is a size or two smaller than where I am at, maybe it will be initiative enough to get to goal. Here is the link. http://www.jafrum.com/core/media/med...6e72b0b4561d9d Yup, I had to go back and look.

Well, I should get off of the board and get to work. Talk to y'all later!

Them thar leather pants are very very chic. I like them. I like the front closure on them too. You going to get a pair Stacy?

Didn't get to exercise like i wanted too. Had a lot of little things i had to get done and now it is time for bed. I had a superbird sandwich for supper (with low carb bread) and lots of water. I made sure i chewed each bite atleast 20 times. Had a piece of celery with squirt cheese and one pepperoni stick a small one. So i stuck to the lc today Have enuf taco salad to take to work with me.

Great job Stacy on losing some weight. I can't believe how close u r. I was looking at my jawline today. It is non existant. I keep thinking of how good u look and how far u have come. I want to be there too! Summer is coming and I want to look nice and feel good in my own skin. I will get there.

Well dawn comes early and i need to get myself tucked into bed. I have to work the next two days. I won't be posting till the evening time on my work days. Take care and be well

I did ok today. I did eat half a slice of pizza early in the day (pizza shop). Had lots of water throughout the day and have been pretty good this evening.

Did my shops today. It was a long day. I am really tired. Kinda cranky. The kids seem to be driving me more nuts than usual.

Tomorrow we are going to go up into the mountains and take the kids to the shooting range. The boys will really enjoy that. Afterwards we are taking them to a bar and grill that we all love to shoot some pool and get some chili cheese fries and hot wings. Should be lots of fun. Until they begin to drive me bananas that is.

I really doubt that I will buy those pants. But, I did think that it was funny that I even contemplated getting something like that.

I found a pair of my size 20 jeans hiding in the back of the closet today. They are a bit too big for me now. There is a small hole in them from being stretched so tight on me at one time. It is amazing. I remember being so excited when those fit me. Now I am so excited because they don't.

Alrighty, ladies, gonna head off to bed. My butt is whooped! Hope y'all have a great night!

Hello.
Just got off work. Pretty tired but am going to work out come hell or high water. Did pretty good today had a few bites of mashed potatoes and gravy. I shoulda left them alone but at least i didn't eat a big ol pile of em. Will weigh in on Friday on the scale at work. I wonder how much of a difference there is between my scale and the one at work.

Great job Stacy. You used to wear a size 20? I can't believe that. i want to see a pic of that, u holding them up to the side of yourself. Are u going to keep them as a reminder?

Have a great time this weekend. Hope u win at pool. I really suck at pool. I am much better at darts. Not sure what i am going to be doing this weekend. Probably cutting back my ornamental grasses and the clematis vines. So if it doesn't snow, will be out in the yard sprucing things up.

Shoot, Eve, I actually wore a 22. Even stretched them snug on me. I still have a pair of them, I keep them just so that I can see where I was. I will get them out and have my husband take a pic or two tonight for me to put up tomorrow.

I was 164.5 this morning. Did ok today, but I did eat hot wings and they were quite salty- we were at a bar and grill with the kids. Also had a couple of chili cheese fries. So, I may not lose tomorrow, but hopefully I won't gain. We'll see...

Went up into the mountains with the kids to shoot guns with the kids. It was a lot of fun. The boys had a great time. It was so fun to watch my guys enjoy themselves as much as they did.

I have been pissy today. My husband can do no right at all. Dunno what he did to get under my skin; don't know what he can do to make it right, either. Poor guy. I feel bad for him.

Ok, gonna run. Gotta do something about dinner. Talk to ya later!

Was very bad today. I stopped keeping track of what i put into my mouth. I did keep the portion size down and drank my water. Sooooo tired today. Legs were kinda achey. I never get enough sleep when working the 12 hours shifts. I get up at 4am and don't get home till 7:30ish pm. Try to get in bed before 10pm but that never seems to happen. Glad i only have to do 3 12's a week. By the end of my rotation though, i get to where i don't care if i eat low carb or not and, that is not a good way to be. I do really good on my days off and if i plan ahead and pack a lunch. Haven't had much time to do either. Picking up 4 hours for a co-worker tomorrow and then i plan on sitting down this weekend to do some menu planning. It snowed again here today so i can't get out into the yard like i had planed. So instead, this would be a good time to read my lc plan again and rethink what I am doing. I just need to be a little more organized. LOL i do not do well with disorganization. I am scared to get on the scale tomorrow. I will do it
though.

Glad u had a great time in the mountains Stacy. What made u so cranky?
it is a good thing that dh's are resilient and bounce back when we are crabby with them. Hope u enjoyed the chicken wings and chili fries. Were they good? LOL looking forward to seeing those pics. I can't believe u wore a size 22 even. I kept a pair of my size 5 jeans. I can't believe i was that small at one time. Now at my most, i am in a size 16. Some day soon huh? I will be holding those up and saying "unbelievable"

I have been playing with my camera. This weekend I also plan on working with iphoto and trying to figure out how to export pics. I am not used to this mac book. I would like to share a few pics with u all. Talked to my dd for 2 hours tonight. She was calling from Japan. I can not wait till she gets to come home for a visit. I miss her very very much. We have a big surprise for her when she gets here in July. I am so excited about it that i almost told her tonight, we finally bought a boat! We have been wanting one for so long and have been searching for one that was the right price. We used to live close to the beach and we all love the water. I can't think of a better way to spend the summer than on/in the water. We should be picking up the boat next week sometime. That will give me time to get the cabin cleaned and painted and recover the beds. I have a friend that knows how to do upholstery and she said she would help me. Heck i may just sleep on the deck under the stars! Gosh i have to get life jackets and everything! Well talk with u all later. Be well and be happy

I was bad last night. Not just a little bad, but blew it totally. I am hiding from the scale. Bad, bad, bad. In fact, it was so bad that I literally felt sick all night. I woke up feeling like I was gonna hurl.

I still haven't had a chance to get the pictures taken. I really want to. Between DH working long hours and studying his butt off for his licenses and me studying for my new job, we haven't been able to see straight.

BTW, I finished my testing yesterday. Woo-hoo! Now I have a couple of other modules to study and an actual pay assignment to do. They want me to do an interior and exterior report on my own house. Good practice. Kinda excited to give it a whirl.

My DH took his final licensing test today. He has passed all of his tests. So, he was a lot happier this morning than he has been this last month or so. I am quite excited. He feels as though a giant weight has been lifted off of his shoulders. Shoot, I feel the same way.

I am going to try a recipe for blue cheese stuffed burgers tonight. I am excited about that. I am not a huge blue cheese fan, but if given the right blue cheese, I like it a bit. I am going to make some dill potato salad for DH and some coleslaw for myself.

I had a dinner shop last night. That ended up being the icing on the cake of a horrible eating day. Stoli Doli's, chips and salsa's, and other very good, high carb foods. I was supposed to go with DH. He ended up having to stay at work, so I did the shop with our 17 year old daughter. It was a lot of fun. Girls night out type of deal. We were able to sit, talk, and just have an overall good evening. Talked about her boyfriend, prom, the bartender (cute), friends, food, and just stuff. She wasn't snotty, depressing, or off standish. Sometimes maturity shines through.

Gotta find something to eat. I haven't had anything other than coffee since I have been up. It's 10:30 and I am still not dressed. I should take care of that also.

Man! Stacy now just stop that! Okay so u were a little bad. Lets not beat u up for it though. Y are we the hardest on ourselves. Sometimes u gotta just let it all hang out and u know what? U ended up having some quality time with your dd. Trust me it goes by so fast and u will cherish those moments with her. So instead of knocking yourself down for not sticking to your lc, think of what u did that was positive. Worthwhilism (i made that word up) isn't just about our successful eating days. It is about us as a person on a whole and putting it all into perspective. Chin up my little camper Well off to work grrrrrrrrrrrr y did i say i would pick up today? I so could be doing stuff that i want to do around here! Oh well shyte happens

let me know how the burgers turned out??????

Hi everyone

too many people near the scale yesterday. I didn't get to weigh in. I think i am about the same though 195. I mean i feel the same. Clothes fitting the same.

Water and lc toast for breakfast. Don't feel like eating or fixing much.

It is overcast today so i won't get out into the yard. Got another dusting of snow last nite too.

Going to go look at a hottub!!!!!! Found one in the paper for 200 bucks. That is an unbelievable price. Guy said it needs a new pump and some tubing. My dh is great at fixing things up and knows where he can get a pump for free. So if it isn't in too bad of shape and looks nice. We may purchase it. Man i am loving this empty nest stuff hahahahah. Okay i do miss my dd, but having grown kids has its perks.

I will post more later on what i have eaten and my exercising.

Eve, price the pump first. We got a free hot tub from a friend. It ended up costing a chunk of money. Lots less than a new one and we love it. But, it was a lot of work and like I said, a nice chunk of money.

Not perfect yesterday, but better. Trying to get back on track. Haven't been on the scale in a few days.

I had oatmeal and homemade applesauce this morning. Along with a hard boiled egg. As far as the rest of the day goes, I don't have a clue.

I didn't make the blue cheese stuffed burgers. I wasn't hungry last night. So, the guys made themselves foil dinners.

Dunno if it is stress or what, but my mood has been really sour the last few days. I am not sleeping (not able to fall asleep or stay asleep). Been arguing with husband over nothing. And, I promise you, we don't fight. I dunno what the deal is. I need to figure it out and fix it, though.

Alrighty, gonna run. Wanna try and figure out what today's menu is gonna be.

they already sold the hottub. I am so sad. My dh was able to get a free pump. They go through so much equipment at his job that they throw so much stuff away and there is barely anything wrong with it. He got a refrigerated air dryer a vacuum pump, a giant 6x6 workbench top, recliners, refrigerators. office equipment and all because it didn't fit the decor they wanted so they just get rid of it. It is crazy. Oh well. It wasn't meant to be i guess.

Sorry u r feeling so poopy Stacy. Probably is a combination of things. Not sleeping well would do it for me!. Let me know if u make the blue cheese burgers. They sound really good. I am going to have some fried rice. I know rice is a no no, but i don't care. I am doing some emotional eating rite now. I am mad about the hottub and going to take it out on some food.

Emotional eating...I know that all too well...

Hopped on the scale. 166. Crap. I really gotta get it under control. This suck.

Eve, have you thought to look on Craigslist.com for a hot tub? Keep your eyes open, we see a free hot tub on there probably every three or four days. Just know that you gotta jump on it quick. Another option, come on over and we'll hang out in mine!

I will check out the craigslist. I know my dh is familiar with that site. My u r so close to your goal. your just 16 lbs away. At least u r still trying instead of giving up.

Whats Up!

Hey Paula, Stacy, Justine,

Whats up? I have had a great day today. Stayed on task and have even prepared some meals for work. I find running around a lot is not good for me when it comes to doing low carb. Hard to be faithful on the fly. I am going to concentrate on abs today. I hate doing abs but, that is my worst area. Okay enuf for now. I have got to keep moving and get some stuff done.

Take care and be well

I have no idea how much I weigh. Hiding from the scale.

Have PMS really bad, hope to start in the next day or so.

Stressing out big time. DH will be starting his new job hopefully soon. He talked to the office manager at the insurance office and everything is going good. So, we are trying to get everything in a row for that. I received an email from the company that hired me this morning. They want to fly me out to Buffalo next Monday til Thursday evening. The date seems to be non-negotiable. That would be fine, BUT on Thursday next week we are going to have a house full of people because on early Friday morning we go on our 4 day long camping/motorcycle trip. I am supposed to host a house full of people and have breakfast ready for everyone before we leave. How in the world am I gonna pull this off? AND, I will be without my kids for a week. That makes me sad. Ok, sorry for the rant. Now I can work through it to make sure my house and kids don't suffer too bad while I am away.

So, the way it looks, I am going to be super busy this week. I also have that assignment to do on my house to turn into the company. I will work on the training modules and see if I can at the very least get the report started. Thankfully, I only have one shop scheduled and it is for dinner later on this week.

Dang it...still ranting. Sorry. I will log on shortly and hopefully be in a better mood.

Wow! I would be stressed out too and ranting by head off. I am sure u will pull it off with finesse though. Another successful day. I almost bought some chocolate but I said no. I am working at a wine and beer tasting in a couple weeks and i want to drop a few more pounds. I had tuna fish again and a salad later on in the day. Cottage cheese with grapefruit and some bacon when i had some cravings. I ordered some carbquick from netrition. I read the reviews and they all seemed pretty positive. I hope u have a safe trip Stacy. I probably wont hear from u much this week since u will be so busy. That makes me sad, but lol i will try to persevere while u r away. Glad both your jobs are coming along. Soooo exciting to start something new and challenging. Well need to go work out. Take care an be well. You'll have to eat some authentic buffalo wings while u r there Stacy.

Read through the training modules. Started filling out the report. Tomorrow, I will finish that up, take the necessary pics, draw my diagram and put it into the computer. The kids are really distracting me, so I will wait til they are gone.

It looks as though this week will be my DH last at the dealership. The big boss came in and had a big meeting with everyone. Said things are gonna have to change. He has been planning on firing one of the finance managers. Before he could do that, DH told him that he was stepping down. Thankfully the other guy still has a job, the big boss isn't mad with DH, and DH feels as though a weight has been lifted off of his shoulders. Now, we just hope that there are training classes for DH next week while I am gone.

I made some coleslaw and have the blue cheese burgers ready to throw on the grill. If DH doesn't get home soon, I think that I will throw them on the Foreman grill. I am getting hungry.

I got my itinerary for next week. I fly out on Monday at noon and my plane arrives at 11PM on Thursday. We are going to be on the road no later than 8AM Friday. So, I think that I will leave DH a very detailed list of stuff to do before we leave. And, I have decided that everyone that is staying here the night before needs to greet me at the airport. The airport is only 10 minutes away, thankfully.

This week, I am going to shop and cook for most of the nights for when I am gone. Don't want these people living off of junk food while I am gone. I think that it will all be ok.

I am going to take the laptop with me so that I can check in next week. It is all good.

BTW, nope, not Johnny Depp in the picture. I wish it was. This was a character actor that had the part down to an art. We were on a Disney cruise last year. Loved it!

From The Low- Carb Comfort Food Cookbook:

Stuffed Blue Cheese Patties
serves 4

2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
2 TBS sour cream
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper

Divide the beef into 8 equal portions on a sheet of waxed paper or aluminum foil. Press each portion into a patty about 1/4" thick.

Mix all other ingredients together and divide the mixture equally between 4 of the patteis, placing it in the center of each patty, leaving some space around the outer edge to seal the patties. Put one of the remaining 4 patties on top of those with the blue cheese suffing. Press or pinch the edges of the patties to seal firmly.

Lightly grease a skillet or griddle with a bit of coconut oil, and, when hot, place the patties on it. Cook for approximately 4-6 minutes on each side or until cooked through, without residual pink color.

*can grill on a medium-hot outdoor grill or on a Foreman type grill

Well, I made these, on my Foreman and they are pretty darn good! My DH is finishing his 2nd one.

I put mine on a LC tortilla with mustard, LC ketchup, lettuce, tomato, and pickle. I think that it would have been really good with relish or maybe some of those spicy/sweet pickles.

I will make these again and I will experiment with them a bit. Just wanted to let you know that they are pretty awesome!
