more on vegas
Hello ladies!
![]() So we get through security and get to our hotel (MGM Grand) We were so tired that we took a nap. Got up and looked around and wandered up and down the strip. Watched the fountains at the Bellagio. Went to the Luxor and watched a 3-D Imax show on dinosaurs. I was a bit disappointed in that. Was not what i thought it would be. It was more of a paleontalogy movie than it was a dinosaur chasing us kinda show. Headed back to the hotel and gambled a few bucks and went to bed. 2nd day: Got up and grabbed a bite to eat (all the food was expensive, a bottle of water cost 3 bucks) Wandered the strip again and took our camera this time. Went into all the casinos and looked around. They had shops in there that were versace, dolce and gabbana, etc. Too expensive for me to shop there. So we just looked. Watched the gondola rides at the venitian and took some pics for people. Found a 99 cent margarita bar and had a few of those and headed back to the hotel for the Cirque du soleil show of KA. It was the most amazing show i have ever seen. We had great seats and the performers did acrobats above our heads. There were times they would swing out over the audience. The theatre was so awesome. As soon as u entered, u felt like u were in another world. I would see it again! They had all kinds of shows they were pandering. Some of em kinda risque and everywhere u looked they had these huge flat screens that advertised them. So we get to our hotel and of course i had to impersonate some of the risque poses. My dh laughed his arse off . Couldn't have too much fun as it was TOM. I am so mad about that since it wasn't suppose to be here till another week! 3rd day: Grabbed a bite to eat. By this time i was so sick of paying 6 bucks for a beer and 4 bucks for a soda. Seemed like we were hitting the atm every other hour for more money. wandered about, gambled a few dollars and some change. Had lunch at the rain forest cafe. Felt like you were in a jungle. Went to M&M world and of course had to buy some pastel colored ones. Found a few souvenirs (had to get a CSI Las Vegas evidence bag) since it is one of my favorite shows. DH and i got a eiffel tower souvenir glass full of pina colada that we sipped while we shopped. Went to New York New York and rode the rollercoaster and had a philly cheesesteak there. then wandered over to Mandalay Bay and checked it out. I ended up getting a blister the size of a quarter on the bottom of my foot. Took the tram back to Excalibur and back to our hotel and chilled the rest of the evening. 4th day: OHHHHHHH so ready to be back home. It was great to see all the sites and see all the different people and to hear all the different accents but i was done in! I was getting shin splints from all the walking. Found the Grand Buffet and had breakfast. It used to be that the buffets were pretty inexpensive but they were 15$ apiece. Messed around on the slots and then went back and packed and headed for the airport. DH got busted in the Las Vegas airport for an expired dl. I was afraid he was going to be stranded in Las Vegas but they made him go through a ultra high security line and of course i had to follow him. I couldn't let him do it alone and i didn't want to get seperated. we get close to this odd looking booth and he said that we had to take our clothes off for a strip search! My eyes were as big as saucers and then he said just joking! We had to step in it and these spouts blew air at you. Felt like i was in a booth full of little blow dryers. It was to sniff us for bomb stuff. I told dh i should have set it off since i am pure T-N-T, he said yeah rite! No ego stroking for me ![]() made it back just in time for the 2nd half of survivor and CSI ![]() I didn't count one low carb. I ate what i wanted and drank what i wanted and now it is back to the ol grind stone huh? Stacy glad u made it through okay on your bike outing. U know i really do believe that things happen for a reason. Plus it stands out in your memory more vividly and you will remember it years later. sorry to hear about your sore foot. Hope it is getting better. I haven't done the running thing yet. I think i will have to wait till warmer weather. It snowed again yesterday and i don't have a gym membership to run inside. Sounds like the new plan is working for u. I want to try the cheese cake recipe. Paula glad u r still working at it. I wish i could find almond flour that cheep! i paid 16 dollars for a bag of it right before i left for vegas. Found it at the health food store. I bet it is nice and warm where u r at. I am so ready for warmer weather. I love working out in my flower beds and the yard. But warmer weather means skimpier clothes and in the winter i can hide some of my fat better I did weigh myself after vegas and i was at 202. I sure am not doing so well. But, I am back on track and have decided that i need to stick to it even on vacation. I just need to plan better and pack stuff along that is low carb.take care, be well, and God bless!

Hi there!
I have been feeling good about what i have eaten today. I made those wonderful mini choco chip cheesecakes. Those are to die for! I had scrambled eggs and bacon and lc toast today. I slept in and didn't get to work out. Went grocery shopping. Came home and made the mini cheesecakes. I had two of those. Drank all my water like a good girl and then had two pieces of cheese with a few turkey pepperoni slices for my supper. I don't feel bloated anymore and didn't even take a nap. Did some laundry and tidied up a bit and started reading a good spooky/romance/mystery book. Reading takes my mind off of eating. Have to work the next two days and am scared i will succumb to temptations at work! I work in a post surgical rehab cottage and they prepare all the meals there. The smell of food cooking about does me in. But, I am going to be strong. I picked out a blouse that i had packed away (cuz it no longer fit) and i want to be in it by April 1st. Gonna try and get an ab workout in before bedtime . |

another good day.
Hi!
![]() I had another good day. I resisted work temptation. Drank a ton of water and was hitting the bathroom i think over 10 times today. Helped that we were really busy. Not alot of energy left over for exercise but felt like i ran my legs off at work. If i have lost weight, am sure it is mostly water weight. Breakfast: cottage cheese and half a grapefruit mid morn snack: two squares of cheese and turkey pepperoni lunch: another square of cheese and my mini cheesecake ![]() supper: cheeseburger casserole ( removed the breaded topping) with cut up tomatoes was going to have a salad but i was too lazy. sighs, one more day of work and then 3 off! I have so much to do around here. I get home around 7:30 pm and have to be in bed by 10:00 pm. Not much time to unwind and do stuff around here. Going to make those cleo rolls Friday. I that i will have another successful day tomorrow. Thank goodness my little food pusher isn't working tomorrow. I swear there is a CNA at work who has latched onto me and he follows me around all day long. I think he has imprinted on me. Lord only knows why. I boss him around all day, u would think he would stay clear of me ![]() Well least u r keeping it at 200 or less Paula. This is really hard! I get so frustrated with it sometimes. BTW sweat pants can be sexy Stacy hope u r feeling better. Keep smilin and keep on truckin ladies. I think u both have come along ways already. |

Well, my evenings have been really bad- diet wise. I will be really good during the day, but the sun goes down and the food goes right in the mouth and directly to my stomach. Had a hot dog (on a bun with regular ketchup) and french fries for dinner last night. Back up to 168. Wow!!
So, gonna cut back for awhile, get things back under control and go from there.I have kinda started finally. A week late. So, PMS has been so bad this month. I mean it gets bad, but it was almost unbearable this month. Note the 10 pound gain over such a short amount of time. Anyway, I say kinda started because it is really light (day 2). I half suspect that by this afternoon it is gonna just be really bad. How bad is it that I am looking forward to it, though? Just anxious to feel better.

10 lbs gone!!!!!
I can't believe it! 10 lbs gone. I wasn't going to weigh myself yet, but i felt slimmer. I couldn't resist. Although, deep down i know it is just mostly water weight. I don't care though. Now am at 192. That gives me incentive to keep on going. A bunch of my friends are going out to a mexican restaurant tonight and i got offered to work a night shift at another cottage. I think i will take the night shift and just avoid temptation all together. I am planning another trip to Indiana middle of March and i could use the extra pay anyways.
Yesterday I had: Breakfast: cottage cheese and half a grapefruit and some lc toast Lunch: I had half a quesadilla (i used a lc tortilla) and topped it with sour cream, tomatoes, cheese, black olives and guacamole, and some salsa. The lc tortilla has a net of 6 carbs. Had a diet soda. Supper: I had the other half of the lc quesadilla and some green salsa on it. and water. Snack: when i got home i was still a little hungry so i had two mini choco cheesecakes. (i heated them up in the microwave, i think they taste better warm) I drank all my water throughout the day. So today is a new day and i have lots to do. I have to clean the fridge i hate that job, but i seem to be the only one that knows how to do it.get the new work schedule into the main office, and tons of housework. My dp is having problems with her teeth again so i need to call the vet for an antibiotic prescription. You know i haven't had one single cold this winter? I started taking vitamin c along with my multivitamin and this stuff called silverbiotics. You can get it at the healthfood store. It is suppose to boost your immune system. I have been surrounded by family and co-workers that have been sick and so far I have not gotten it. Stacy not sure this is what ails you, but when i was in nursing school and had to study a lot in the evenings, I would often find myself putting it off and eating instead. It was some kinda weird procrastination technique ( i don't know what to call it) that i realized i was doing to put off studying. Could that be what your evening cravings are? I mean i know u r studying for your new career in insurance. Of course i know u r not me and we all have our own defense mechanisms. It is just a thought. Paula did u decide what color your pillows are going to be? I love to hear others decorating styles. You can really come up with some neat ideas. I am suppose to be making some roman shades for my french doors. I bought the material 4 months ago and just haven't gotten around to it. I have recently been experimenting with color. I painted my bedroom an olive green venetian plaster ( wont do that again). It was easy to put on but after awhile my arm would get tired. i would have to section it out and it took me longer than i had anticipated. It looks nice though. I picked olive d/t the dh. The things we do for our dhs. Well I am rambling on now. Hope u all have a wonderful and successful day. Can't wait to hear from u both. Take care and be well ![]() |

Great job, Eve! Absolutely wonderful! Woo-hoo! I am doing the happy dance for you!! Thank goodness you can't see it.
![]() You know what, Eve? I think that you hit the nail on the head. Eat now, study later. Dang, woman. You are good! Didn't even have to pay you $100/hr! I did do real good yesterday. First day in awhile that I made it through the day. Lost 2 pounds overnight. Had lots of water yesterday. I need to keep my water with me. Today I am starting the 12-day makeover, just to get back on track. It is something that I know I can do for 12 days, but I don't think that I can do it everyday for the rest of my life. It should be a great stepping stone, though. How are you doing Paula? I went through and started (didn't finish- it is way long!) reading this thread from the beginning. Wow! What a year it has been. We are pretty awesome. You are such a big part of my life and such a big part of my successes, I really don't know how to thank you. ![]() |

Great Job
Way to go Stacey!
2 lbs is wonderful! I know as u get closer to your goal weight, it gets harder to drop those pounds. I think i did well today. I feel like I am on a roll and am determined this time to drop this weight. My gal pals met for mexican food (my favorite) and margeritas. I put my happy hiney into bed for the night shift and avoided temptation. I don't want to end up running from every situation where I would be tested, but for now i just don't feel strong enough yet to resist. Breakfast: scrambled eggs, 2 slices of lc toast with spray butter, bacon coffee and water Lunch: Chicken marsala (I made it myself and it turned out great, i breaded the chicken tenders in a mix of almond flour and soy flour), a salad of baby spinich and blue cheese dressing, water snack: two mini choco chip cheesecakes went to bed and had another breakfast upon arising this evening. breakfast: cottage cheese and 1/2 grapefruit, coffee and water going to pack a low carb lunch for work. How is it going for u Paula? have u tried anything new that u could share with us? U seem to be going through a rough spot rite now. Chin up, and we are here for u. ![]() Take care and be well PS: what is everyone's plan for St Patrick's Day? |

Back down to 163.5!
Tons of water went in- tons came out! LOL!!Made it through day 1 of the 12 day makeover deal. The food is really blah. But, I can do anything for 12 days- although, on Friday I have an awesome shop. It is dinner (appetizer to share, entree, and dessert to share), drinks, and a movie. All reimbursed! Date night!! So, I am gonna do my best to be really good this week, maybe take Friday evening off, and then do it again for another week. If nothing else, doing it again after I take an evening off, it should get my butt back on track quickly. With the 12 day makeover, I am not allowed to add salt to my food. I am fine with that. One thing though, does anyone have any ideas on a flavor (other than soy sauce) that could give chicken, veggies, and rice a fried rice flavor? If I can master that, I will make it through this easy! I won 20 tickets to the local comedy club for tonight. I don't know 20 people. Y'all wanna go with me and DH? I talked with a gentleman on the phone about homeschooling my soon to be 4th grader. Talked with Jacob and told him that this is serious business. It is gonna be hard to do. Paula, is there anything that I need to take into consideration before we go through with this? It will be difficult, I will be stretching myself thin. That will be the time that we will hopefully be opening our own office, so I will be there (with Jacob). By then we will also have some office help (hopefully) to help take the load off of me with that. I am overwhelmed right this moment. So many changes on the horizon- quite exciting!! Tomorrow we go to Denver for our annual "motocycle mod day". That is when everyone gets the bikes ready for the season, changes the oil, checks tires, B.S.'s... The weather doesn't look as though it is going to cooperate with us, though. If that is the case, we will be helping clean out a house of a buddy who is getting ready to move to Ohio (job transfer). Busy, busy. The weather is absolutely gorgeous today!! Think it is a great time to open windows. So, I will get busy cleaning up a little bit. Talk to you ladies soon! |

Does a jiggy dance for u Stacy!
Thats great. I see your DH gave u the scale back. I don't think i could do the no salt thing. I am not a big salt eater but bacon is a big part of my life. Hmmm u could try using an herb rub on your chicken, or i like to use maggie seasoning. It is a liquid and it comes in a brown bottle with a yellow and red label. It might have a lot of sodium in it though. What about worchestersire sauce? I have marinated chicken and steak in italian dressing too. That is pretty tastey. U could try some wines and or balsamic vinegar too with olive oil. Speaking of exercising, i need to get back at it. Last night at work i had half a quesadilla with some mild salsa and then later that morning i had scrambled eggs with cheese over top and some bacon. I tried to drink my water but i was running all night and didn't have much chance for that. I managed to down a cup of coffee and a diet soda later. Came home and slept some, and now i just feel tired and sluggish and my mouth and eyes feel super dry. I think i am getting too old to do night shifts anymore. Need to get some stuff done. Will post later tonight. Might go to the movies and see jumpers or i might just wait until tomorrow. Girlfriend (gf) wants to go buy a ski helmet and drag me along sometime this weekend and then I was going to take her to Costco. They are building a Cabellas and a Sam's club and a Kohls here. I can't wait. |

Need to read better!
Dear me,
![]() for some reason i only got part of your last post Stacy. Musta been tired. I was rather irritable today and kinda snapped at dh. I can't even remember what it was over. All good here now though. If i lived closer Stacy, I would take u up on the comedy tickets. Sounds like a good time. What do u mean by u have a big day of shop? Are u a secret shopper or something? I always wondered about that secret shopping thing. Went to the movies. everyone had a snack there. I just had a diet pepsi. The movie was "Jumpers" it was actually a really good movie. Stopped by a mexican restaurant on the way home and got steak fajitas to go. I feel like i over did it, cuz i ate all of em but didn't eat the flour tortilla. Instead, i had one high fiber lc wrap with it and just put the rest together as a salad. Tried to find out how many carbs were in gaucamole. So now I am thinking Crap! I better not have blown it. Motorcycle trip huh? Sounds fun. I look forward to when my bike is finished as well as my dh's so we can go on some road trips. When i lived in the Philippines, that was my only source of transportation. Hauled all kinds of things on my bike mainly groceries. During the monsoons we had to wear rain gear. Ahhhhhhhhhh life was much simplier then, and my wants were little. Thanks Paula for the praise. It is wonderful and nice to know that someone else in the world is rootin for me. My dh doesn't really care if i lose the weight. He says he loves me no matter how big or small i get. night everyone. hope u all have good news tomorrow ps: i got into my grey cargo pants!!!!!!!!!! |

Yup, I am a secret shopper. Have fun with it most days, sometimes though, it is not worth my time or the effort that you put into it.
I love me some fajitas! Steak, chicken, veggie, shrimp, doesn't matter, tell me it is a fajita and I am there! ![]() Well, last night was a bomb. My hubby was supposed to get out of work at 7:00, the comedy show started at 8:00. Wouldn't you know, the car dealership got busy at closing time and he was there til 9:00, so we missed the show. A little bit of a downer, but not too bad. I was kinda happy to stay home, put my pj's on, and study with him for awhile. Speaking of studying, we will be doing that today. The weather is really bad up in Denver, so the mod day is gonna be next weekend instead. That will probably work out better for us anyway. Today, we start the practice exam for property and casualty loss. Then, hopefully tomorrow DH can schedule an exam time for this week. That would be awesome! At 163.5 again today. I guess the water weight has come off. Still, gonna be real good and get a little more of it to come off. We have a big ride/campout starting April 11. I would love to be down to 153 by then. Ten pounds, month and a half. Doable? Dunno, but gonna try. On Friday, Apr. 11, we leave home, here in Colorado Springs, with 2 other couples (and maybe 2 other guys) drive down to Flagstaff, AZ to meet up with a couple of guys that we talk to on a motorcycle forum. Spend the night at a hotel there in Flagstaff. The next day we will ride up to the Grand Canyon and camp (pray for decent nighttime weather), then the following day we ride over to Arches National Park. We will spend the day there, stay the night in a hotel, then ride home the following day. Should be fun. ![]() |

Hi ladies!
Sooo, hmmmm tell me more about this secret shopper thing. Had a pretty good day. Oh i forgot that i had a michelobe ultra beer last nite too. Today i cleaned house for most of the morning had a low carb tortilla with scrambled eggs and cheese and bacon. Then i met my gal pal at Costo and we did some shopping. I even tried a Talapia sample, and i hate fish! It was really good. After shopping, we went and had a coffee then i had to run to walmart for a few things. Got home put groceries away and made some supper. I found this lc teriyaki chicken breasts at Costco. Tyson brand i think. It is awesome and only 5 grams of carbs. I had one of those for supper and a baby spinich salad with fresh mushrooms, baby cucumbers and blue cheese drssg. I can tell i didn't drink near enuf water today, my mouth gets so dry. It never did that before. I hated to drink water. I have been really bad about not exercising. Plan to start that up again Monday. I have been feelin pretty good about the choices i have made with eating. Feelin pretty up beat and like I am really going to do this, this time I am not going down with out a fight ![]() |

Out of curiosity, what brand of blue cheese dressing do you use? My tastebuds have changed. I use to hate the stuff, but now, when I find a nice, mellow blue cheese, I find I like the stuff quite a bit. There is a bar/grill that we go to that makes the best blue cheese dressing. I always ask for a couple of the small to go cups so that I can take it home.

The secret shopper thing is ok. Lots of paperwork, not a lot of money. If you ae interested, let me know and I will pm you with a link so that you can look at it and see if you want to do that or not.
Down to 162.5 today. I am getting back on track. It has been a little easier this week than last. Sometimes, I just get so frustrated because I KNOW that if I would stay on track I would have been at goal a long time ago. I am presently down about 7-8 pounds since September. That's it. Went and got tags for my car and my motorcycle today. So expensive! When I got there, there were 100 people in front of me (the ticket number they were on D57- I had E57). I have to say, the DMV was properly staffed and these women didn't repeatedly call numbers. If you didn't get your butt up quickly, they went to the next number. I was out of there in 45 minutes. quite impressed. |
