Today has been pretty bad. Eating everything- to include cupcakes- and my legs hurt so bad that I can't exercise. Hope to tomorrow....

cking in.. I'll hit the back pages when I get a chance... holding at 199... dag.. I hate i gained 10lbs back...
for some reason today has just been real depressing. I'm changing again ISP. going back to our old dsl and of course had to send out a few very few emails letting ppl know the new address. I only have 4 ppl on that list because I dont use the ISP email much. okay...I guess I'm sad because I've not sent an email or personal note to anyone. This includes my little brother and my birthdaughter. I'm lucky if I email once a month. I guess its more shame & guilt. I guess my excuse is; Im not doing anything worth emailing about.. you guys get more details on my life but its about dieting, killing hubbies.. etc.. these arent things you write to family!! I guess I just feel depressed and felt like venting.

Sorry to hear you are so down, Paula.
I think that it is something in the air. Depression is setting in over here too.I am retaining some serious water. 167.5 this morning. How does someone gain 8 pounds over a week? I have been bad for half of it, but really good for the other half. Yuck. Asked DH to just hide the scale. My legs are still really sore! I was barely able to walk yesterday. I do go the gym and play racquetball with DH this morning. I sure wasn't able to get around like I normally would. I really want to get to the gym later on today and even if I can't jog around the track, I hope to walk it. But, I really wanna jog it (at least once). Exciting news, though. DH and I are gonna make the move to become insurance agents. We went and talked with the district manager yesterday and everything is a go. DH is going to get his license and training first (I am gonna get a job with an hourly wage for a bit) and as he gets up and going, I will run the office end of it. I will also get my license, but that will be after a short time. We are super excited- and also super nervous. It is going to be a lot of work, but this is something that we can do.

Babysat for hour and a half today. the little girl just keeps me moving and she's so smart for a two year old. All she wanted to do was watch Nemo... and hold the case while she watched. what a cutie! I should go a take a nap. I think that might help. Ive been tired, but its only cus I stayed up watching tv, snoring monster ran me out of my room last night. I'm up for making grilled chicken salad tonight. Im so tired of eatin bad things. I'd love to clear out all flour and sugar, but it seems family just keeps draggin it back in. I think I'll go live in my camper... lol... more later.. you girls have a good V-day. Im gonna pass. told the oldman I didnt want anything and just surprise me later when I dont expect it. I hate commericalized holidays. Bah humbug! I may just end up in the hot tub with a bottle of wine.. forgot to tell ya we finally got one.. Im not a chemist by any means..lol.. but Im working on it.. Hugs! |

Boy now i feel depressed, I haven't got a hot tub
. Actually, I have been feeling a little blue as well. I just can't seem to get it together. I did the run for one day and then it rained and then it snowed then a 12 hour shift. Why is it always such icky weather when I am off work and nice when I am at work. I think the fates are conspiring against me. Then I think ( should just wait till i get back from vegas) then start all over. 202 this am. I am mad at myself for being a loser and not the weight kind. Then i think, it is always something oh i will start after this party. or this trip or this weekend. So when will i just make the commitment? Seems it is one excuse after another. So here is the deal i have made with myself and i will to u gals as well. I am going to go to vegas and enjoy all i can. When i get back I am going to make the commitment to not cheat cuz i only hurt myself. This has got to be a lifestyle change. I probably wont post until i get back. I wish u all the best and hope u get out of your depression funk. Go for it Stacy with the job change. Sorry i haven't posted sooner but with the snow, i couldn't get satelite connection. Hugs to u both and hang in there even if it is by the nitty gritty.Eve |

You can come over here and hang out with me in my hot tub!
![]() DH finally hid the scale from me. Now, today, I am going stir crazy not being able to hop on the damn thing. ![]() Eve, I know that you said before, but when are you going to Vegas? Don't stress out too much over your vacation goings on. If you look through the posts, you will see that I went all out on my vacation. The key to it is to come up with a game plan to get back on track when it is over. I have been to the gym twice today. The first time was to play racquetball. Let me tell you, we played hard. We didn't have as much time as we normally do, but I would be willing to bet we put in at least as much energy in the shorter time than we do playing as we normally do. It was fun! Then I went back this afternoon and hit the track. I found out that 12 laps equal 1 mile. So, I alternated 2 walking, 1 jogging, to equal one mile. I am a bit whooped. Jogging is so difficult for me. Really, really hard. But, I am determined to do this. Hope that Valentine's Day was a good one for you. My husband had to work, but the day before we had a nice lunch and I had given him a card. Last night when he came home, he handed me a note, all folded up like when you were passing notes in high school. That made me laugh. But, the letter was so sweet, so personal. It brought tears to my eyes. I love it! ![]() So much better than flowers any day. Also, I had an uncle that I haven't seen in probably 20 years pass away. I am sad about that. Always liked him a lot, but when he and my aunt divorced, we lost touch with him. He lived up in Michigan. I contemplated trying to find a way to get there to go to the funeral, but I wasn't able to make it work. A little bummed about that also. Today, DH purchased the materials needed to start studying for the insurance licensing. So, I am going to work on cleaning and organizing the office so that we can begin to utilize it to get our new lives off the ground! Alrighty, gonna go hop in the shower and wash the exercise funk off of me. |

Thanks bunches
Stacy thanks for the invite to the hot tub
That was sweet. Thanks for the words of encouragement as well. I kinda needed a little boost. Glad u r going for the insurance deal. Study hard! I am going to Vegas on Monday and coming back on Thursday and to work F-Sa-Sun. I will have the following Monday and Tuesday off. Sorry to hear about your Uncle passing on, and sorry u couldn't go to the funeral. thats for u. chin up little camper. U r really doing wonderful. lol at hiding the scales. Do u obsess over the scale?Your DH seems like a really great guy. It is nice to have a supportive and caring life's partner huh? Keep up the running and i will soon be doing the couch to 5k when i get back. I should up hold the post office's motto. nor rain or snow or sleet or dog attacks should keep me from my couch to 5k run. ( I am pretty sure that is not how the post office motto goes exactly, but close enough ) Paula ,hope u r getting out of your funk as well. Of course u have an interesting life! U kidding me? I like to hear about your day and what u have been up to. Getting that camper i thought was cool and interesting. You seem to dig into whatever needs to be done at your house and it doesn't matter that your a woman, u just do it. Lots of women would wait for the honey to do it for them. Plus u home school, thats commendable. And i admire that u can pop your butt. I wish i could do that and i wish i could do the shakira dance as well. One day u should show Stacy and me how to do that via web cam . Both of you take care, and keep up the good work u have been doing. I will hopefully have fun stuff to talk about when i get back. Oh BTW this is my 24 anniversary/valentines trip so we are celebrating down there. ![]() PS: did u hear about the box cutter tip and staples found in a lollipop from china? Eve |

please Eve, dont read anymore!!! LOL~~~~ !!! I guess thats why I dont go back and look.. oh the things we have talked about on here!~ (red blushing face~)
Yeah, feeling much better. It must have been a pre-bio-polar moment, because when I went to walmart to get some faux suede for an ugly ottoman, I ended up buying a new bedspread, curtains. etc... for my bedroom.. dear lord I dont really need it either.. I finished the ottoman, I hate my electric stapler... ask any Dh why it staples sideways and let me know.. my DH says he dont know.. its like half goes in and the other bends.. the only good ones got hammer the rest of the way in...lol~ but now i have a place to prop feet and hide magazines and blankets. Hope Eve has fun in Vegas~ pop a quarter for each of us~! I did better eating today.. I am only having salt issues. Ive tried the walking/running on the treadmill and only missed once this week.. do I have to do this on the weekend? I have yard work to do.. I hope that counts. EVeryone have a good weekend.. Im gonna try to get gutters fixed since the storms took one down again! finish the drain/trench and just plain clean up.. winter just makes a yard look ugly.. anyone have ideas for pillows to go with a brown microsuede comforter.. ive seen the blue/ green etc. but have to put hubby first too. He wouldnt go for pink/chocolate... heheheh... yeap... Im having a moment. ![]() more later ladies~ me |

Ya now, Paula, I am with Eve. I wanna see you pop your butt too! I would, except I don't have a butt.
![]() Well, I did great yesterday- until I got out of bed. I did fine until dinnertime. We had spaghetti using Dreamfield's pasta. I dunno if it was the pasta or the HC spaghetti sauce that did it, but something triggered my cravings- BAD! So, two plates of spaghetti (not big ones, but still 2), a chunk of chocolate candy bar, and a big handful of popcorn later...sigh...I think that this working out business is doing me some good. I slept last night without any help from Benadryl! Stayed in bed til 9:30; only reason that I got up was cuz the dogs were barking. Before showering, I have been dry brushing myself (most of the time- I tend to forget sometimes) and it seems to be taking care of the loose skin on my upper thighs. I am really excited about that. I still have a bit there, but I do think that it has lessened. I must have jogged correctly yesterday cuz I do not hurt so much. I was a bit nervous, because I killed myself the other day and had jogged one less lap than I did yesterday. But, today I feel pretty good. And, by the way, Paula, I am not jogging over the weekend. ![]() Thinking about changing up my diet. Maybe go back to South Beach. Gonna read up this weekend. Speaking of South Beach, I bought some SB high protein cereal bars yesterday. The net carbs per bar are 2 or 3. I have had 2 so far and they are really good. I grabbed those for the mornings that DH and I go to the gym. Gotta run. We have a Boy Scouts banquet to attend in about an hour or so an I am still sitting around in my robe... |

I have no butt to pop either , DD13 just tries to teach me...and its not pretty. I still cant do the head thing.. from side to side.. heheh.. never mind!!! LOL~~ I've done good this weekend. got 4 bags of almond flour that came from Trader JOes, my DD20 husband's Aunt comes in from Kentucky, but she had picked up the flour before she came down.. we dont have a TJ anywhere near us.. I made some muffins and it was so nice to eat without guiilt and an upset tummy. I have plans for that stuff.. apparently its much cheaper there.. Im paying 13.00 per bag and I think its 4.99. will have to ask around again. I'll post more later glad stacy youre hanging in.. Ive not moved all weekend.. FMS is acting up. I may just try walking this week on the treadmill.. and not push. Havent seen the scale this weekend and afriad to...I'm gonna give myself a few more days of clean eating before I do. more later me |

I have the book "The 30-Day Low-Carb Solution" by Michael Eades, M.D. and Mary Eades, M.D. Gonna follow that starting today. I don't know how/why it got pushed to the back of my bookcase. I have tried lots of the recipes and enjoyed them. I also have their book, "Low Carb Comfort Food". I really like that also. The 30-Day book has 30 menus, it is not strict on following the menu exactly as written. But, I gotta say, the menu itself looks pretty good on most days.
The Generic Meal Plan--- B: Eggs, any style, with bacon, ham, sausage or fish, if desired 1 slice LC toast with butter L: Bacon cheeseburger or grilled chicken breast sans bun Salad greens with dressing S: 1/2 small serving of fruit and/or dry-roasted nuts or cheese D: Grilled/broiled steak, chicken, fish 1/2 to 1 cup green or colorful low-starch vegetable Salad greens with real dressing 1/2 cup berries Look gals! Fruit and LC bread! I think that a bigger part of my issue is the lack of variety (ok, fruit) lately. So, I will give this a whirl and see what happens. It is more carbs than I have been eating, but I need a change. And, to be perfectly honest, it is a lot fewer carbs than I have been eating over the course of the last couple of weeks.Today's menu (from the book) is: B: ham and cheese omelet 1/2 cup strawberries 1 slice LC toast with butter L: tuna salad 1 cup lettuce with olive oil vinaigrette S: 1 oz dry roasted peanuts D: roasted paprika chicken* 1 serving Matilda's green beans* 1 serving cukes and onions* * recipes are in the book- if something sounds good, let me know and I will post. So, since I didn't shop this weekend, for breakfast I had 1 fried egg and 2 slices of bacon. For lunch I will have tuna salad on 2 rev rolls with lettuce and tomato, half an orange. Snack will be some dry rosted peanuts. Tonight for dinner will be cabbage soup with hamburger in it. I am still not weighing myself, just gonna wait til the month is up and see where I am at. I am afraid that by adding the extra carbs I am going to gain weight before losing it. So, I will just bypass knowing for sure that has/has not happened. Today I am taking the kids to the zoo. Walk up, down, and around the mountain. Hoping to get to the gym to jog today, but dunno if that will happen yet. We will see how I feel after the mountain. We are gonna pack a picnic lunch, it will be fun. |

Good Afternoon!
Hope that all is well today. Everything here is fine. Trying to bring myself to study. Have no interest in doing that today. I did pretty good yesterday. I had issues with being constantly hungry. Couldn't find what it was that I wanted, what would cure my hunger. I nibbled all day long, but did keep it low carb. I am sure that I still went over on carbs and maybe calories, but I sure tried. Today has been better. I made it to the gym today. I walked for 10 laps and jogged for 4. I think that I will add a jogging lap next time I go back. I am so winded after each jog around the track. So pathetic. Went grocery shopping today and spent $205 on nothing. I had maybe half a cart of food. It really gets under my skin how expensive everything is. OK, according to the book, Day 2's menu should be something like; B: Power shake* L: Chicken Caesar Salad* 1 Serving Orange and Strawberry Cup* S: 1-2 ounces string cheese D: Grilled/Broiled Steak 1 Serving Asparagus Parmesano* 1 sliced fresh tomato (or 1/2 cup canned) 1 Serving Mini Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Here is mine: B: Ham and scrambled egg on 2 Rev Rolls (had to finish using them) L: South Beach protein bar (was on my way to the gym) S: 1 ounce dry roasted peanuts D: Roasted Paprika Chicken* 1 Serving Asparagus Parmesano* (King Soopers had asparagus on sale!) 1 sliced fresh tomato 1 serving mini chocolate chip cheesecake (just took those out of the oven!) Tomorrow (from the book) B: Fruity Power Smoothie* L: Tuna Salad Wrap* Salad Greens with good dressing S: 1-2 ounces dry roasted nuts D: Kaye's Quiche* 1 serving Salad de Floret* Salad greens with good dressing 1/2 cup raspberries (a dollop of whipped cream, if desired) Mine will be something similar to: B: bacon and eggs 1 slice LC toast with butter L: bacon cheeseburger (will be away from the house at lunchtime) 1 serving orange and strawberry cup* (will make and take that with me) S: 1 ounce peanuts D: Kaye's Quiche 1 serving Salad de Floret* Salad 1/2 cup berries with whipped cream I have made up a week's worth of menus for myself. Hoping that will help get me back on track and keep me there. Still haven't weighed myself. I decided to look around the locker room at the gym to see if they had a scale; they didn't. Darn it. |

just looks too good to be true~ esp the mini chocolate cheesecake.. hummmmmmm~
you know i actually posted a reply yesterday, so I thought! Its not there. I may have wrote and it not gone thru... but I was thinking of ya'll.... I've done good, I resisted peach cobbler that my dd20 had made tonight.. brought home some for DH, and put his name on it.. reminder for me and dd13~! I'm still hurting when I get up in the mornings.. wondering if its more then just the flour/wheat issues or FMS really getting me ... told the old man I may just end up with arthritis when I get older, you'd think Id slept on my hands all night the way they hurt. I remember Mary saying she did the same.. or tingly arms. miss her! Dang I hate getting old! Didn't walk or run today.. baby sat a very sick little girl.. she felt bad after her nap and got stomach aches .. a real mess with the grandparents and mom... I guess I should have called them earlier but she wasnt that sick till she got to her grandmothers and ran a fever.. so i get a call from the mom, I could tell she was upset.. but I did debate on calling her at work but ..... gosh dont know what to do sometimes.. will see what happens tomorrow..I'm gonna watch your food ideas... look like good choices for B/L/dinner etc. Scales showing anything yet???? I've ignored mine! lol ![]() |

Still haven't stepped on a scale. So, who knows?
![]() Last night's dinner was awesome!! The cheesecakes were really good. The family really enjoyed those. On my way out to do a couple of shops. Hopefully they won't take me all day long to finish. ![]() Mini Chocolate Chip Cheesecakes: 12 servings 2.2 carbs per serving 8 TBS finely chopped pecans (I actually used almond flour- worked perfectly!) 2 packets Splenda 1 TBS butter, melted 1 large egg, beaten 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup Splenda (granular) 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract 2 TBS semi-sweet mini chocolate chips Place the nuts, the 2 packets of Splenda, and the butter in a small bowl and combine thoroughly. Line the 12 wells of a muffin tin with paper cupcake liners and distribute the nut mixture evenly among them (about 2 tsp. per well). Place the egg, granular Splenda, cream cheese, and vanilla extract into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Fold in the chocolate chips. Divide the mixture evenly among the 12 cups. Bake for 15 minutes at 350*. Cool and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Will keep refrigerated for several days. |

well thats easy enough! I might try it a bit later.. I'm really trying to watch my sweets since I know thats what sent me into a tail spin over the last few weeks. I've done good today also.. just hope it lasts.
Went to store and bought lots of stuff to go with Grilled chicken Salads... last night was cabbage beef stew, and I need to freeze it for later. I'm afraid to get on the scale. I guess because Ive been trying so hard and knowing if I dont see some lost numbers I will get mad and eat.. been there... I got on a few days ago and it was at 199/200... so if I got on now and thats what it said I would be crushed. I'll wait till this weekend and see... ![]() I've got a few low carb books I need to drag out. One paper back covers most all the lc diets and breaks them down as to the differences etc. I really liked where they showed how unknown carbs can sneak in and we can be past 20 carbs in no time. Just a helpful book, if I can find it later I'll post the title. I off to surf.. more later! |

Made it through the day ok. Breakfast, lunch and snack were as anticipated. Dinner ended up being a couple of scrambled eggs with cheese and 2 1/2 strips of bacon along with the Salad de Floret and an orange strawberry cup.
According to the book, tomorrow's menu is: B: Yogurt Power Cup* L: Cold roasted chicken 1 serving Salad de Floret* S: 1 small tangerine D: Shrimp K-Bobs* Salad greens with good dressing 1 serving Mini Chocolate Chip Cheesecake DH is off tomorrow, so I am not sure how close I will be to the menu, but I will follow the general guidelines. Also, I think that he is going to go ahead and get the scale out so that we can figure out if this is working for me or not. We are having company on Saturday evening, DH is gonna grill burgers and hot dogs. I will make some jalapeno poppers, cucumber salad, and maybe some homemade mac and cheese. Maybe I will just buy chips and dip. Lots easier that way. ![]() |

I weighed this morning. I was 163.5. So, that is a 4 pound loss since Valentine's Day or so. I do not know if I have gained/lost anything since starting this new diet. But, I do know that it has been a nice change of pace. I am going to keep up with it and see what happens.
This is what I ate today: B: bacon and egg burrito strawberry and orange cup L: leftover roasted chicken Salad de Floret S: couple bites of tuna salad couple bites of coleslaw D: baked lemon pepper chicken wings coleslaw salad mini chocolate chip cheesecake DH and I studied and made it through a bit of the study guide today. What a mental brain drain. Wanted to jog, but after jogging last time, my right foot has developed a pain along the right side of it. Doesn't hurt unless there is pressure put on it. Then it gets me. Maybe I should give up my jogging career and start swimming? The book's menu for tomorrow is: B: Veggie Frittata* 1 Tomato, sliced L: Chicken Salad Stuffed Tomato* 2-3 saltine crackers with butter (if desired) S: 1-2 ounces dry-roasted nuts D: Broiled Salmon Steaks with Chive Butter* 1 cup Sauteed Broccoli* Salad 1/2 cup berries with a dollop of whipped cream Mine: B: Ham, egg, asparagus, and swiss quiche 1 tomato, sliced L: Tuna salad stuffed tomato 2-3 saltine crackers with butter S: 1 ounce peanuts D: Parmesan tilapia 1 cup sauteed broccoli (or maybe loaded broccoli- YUM!) salad 1/2 cup berries with whipped cream Yum, yum, yum!! |

I weighed 164.5 this morning. I think that part of the issue is TOM should be arriving anytime. I should keep track of that, but I just don't.
I was reading the diet book last night. The diet equals about 10 Net carbs per meal and snack. About 40 carbs a day. That comes out to about double the carbs than my body is use to. But, I am feeling really good. It is not gonna bother me (for a few days) over what my scale looks like. I do need to cut back on the fats a bit. Bacon in particular. I have had a lot of that lately. My foot is still hurting. Feels like a heel spur. ![]() Alrighty, outta here for a bit. I didn't make the quiche this morning, so I am going to make it now so that I don't have an excuse tomorrow morning to make myself bacon and eggs, or hot link and eggs (like this morning). I may also make the vegetable frittata. Ladies, I really enjoy this diet, I am beginning to feel like a whole new lady. A couple extra pounds or not. Wow, who would have ever thought that would be ok? |

So far so good today.
![]() So far... B: 1 hot link 1 fried egg small cluster of grapes L: tuna salad in small tomato 3 buttered saltines S: 1/2 ounce hot peanuts small slice of Ham, egg, asparagus, and swiss quiche The reason that I am posting already is to tell you that the quiche is AWESOME!! Yup, I had to slice a small piece to try it. I beat 4 eggs seasoned with salt and pepper, poured them into a 4x6" Pam sprayed pan, topped with 3 servings of sliced Oscar Mayer deli smoked ham (0 carbs per serving), approx. 1 cup chopped cooked asparagus, 2 slices Swiss cheese, about 1/2 cup of shredded Co-Jack, and then 2 more seasoned, beaten eggs. Wow! Sometimes I am just that good. LOL! |

Stacy take care of your ankle. If the jogging worries you, I'd stick with something easier, like swimming. I have to say when I was a teenager I ran, jogged. Mainly to get away from the house and have an hour or two to myself. I loved it, but it also I believe has done something to my ankles, I can do a little running on the tread, but I can also go up the stairs and feel like my ankle is splitting! I know its from running when I was younger, wrong shoes, no warm ups etc. NOt worth messing with them at this age... I think if I was 115lbs again I would do a all out run, but at 195-200 for me, no way. I just do a faster stride on the tread... little bounces, not a full run.
I'm sorry ive missed 2 days. I dont know where IVe been,.... lol... too tired after babysitting, didnt have her today and they dont need me for awhile, grandmother is back in town. Ive been eating salads like crasy, ate Deer meat burgers tonight with greenbeans. I"ve not hit the scales only because I cant tell anything with clothes. Of course Ive got 10lbs to get back down. I want to cheat but wont... I know Id be back whining about gaining again.. I want to fit into that bathingsuit.. its too small but I knew it would be.. but its really small... the top is not as much coverage as I hoped, shorts are fine.. I may have to get an extra top until I can fit the top. I"m gonna print out some of your menus(quiche sounds good) when I get my printer back up, moved things around etc... when's Eve coming back...? More later! |
