Yeah, I didn't do so well today either, but I went in expecting that. Did better today than I have on many of the days here recently.
I just went through and printed off some recipes to try and put them in a notebook. Also grabbed a sheet of graph paper. I am going to record my weight each day along with a + or - as to how well I did for the day. I need to take the time this evening to write down this weeks menu and come up with smart solutions to snacking. I know that I can do this, just need to get back to it.\ Thank you ladies for being here, you really help me out a lot.

Forgot to brag on hubby.. he finally bought me a ring... after 20 years! I have worn my grandmothers set which I adore but he always said he wanted to buy me one. Okay its from walmart but I love it.. has the diamond in the middle and blue sapphires on the sides.. white gold... and Im a fan of yellow.. but I like it and was shocked he got it for me...I didnt want a typical wedding set... but love what I got. ![]()

That is a really pretty ring.
I like it a lot!Woke up weighing a pound more (170.5) and sick. Nauseous, light headed, achy, just not feeling well in general. Supposed to go do a few shops today, but I dunno if I will be making it out of the house. I am going to make some peanut butter truffles today. I havent made any of those in months and I really enjoy them a lot. Then again, I was going to make them every day for the last week and I haven't done it yet... |

I still haven't made the truffles...
![]() Feeling a little bit better today. Still a little sick to my stomach, but the rest of me is better, so that is good. For dinner last night I fried up some smoked sausage, cabbage, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Seasoned with salt and pepper. It was very good. Even the boys (they do not like cabbage) ate seconds. I weighed myself this morning. The scale shows 167. I am happy about that, but I am so frustrated over the drastic jumps. Granted I like the ones that drop the numbers, but still... I have a few shops to do today. Kinda looking forward to it. Anxious to get out of the house for a bit, without the kids. Any ideas on a dinner that I can make with leftover ham? |

Paula, you are doing great on the blogging. Keep up the good work!
I am back to sick again today. I felt really good (and hungry) last night. Had DH take me to Olive Garden for dinner. I had a glass of red wine, small salad, 1/3 of a breadstick, and about 1/3 of my dinner, the mixed grill. Kept it fairly low carb. And it was so good! Came home, went to bed, woke up at about 3am sick to my stomach. Diarrhea and vomiting. It was horrible. My stomach is still rumbling this morning. ![]() Today I weigh in at 165. I will take it, but really not happily. I need to eat without feeling like crap afterwards. Today I have had coffee. Oddly enough, I can keep that down. Wanted to make an omelette for myself this morning, but as I was making one for DH I thought I was gonna be sick. Will check in a little later on, gotta get a bit of stuff done. Here is to a LC, healthy day! One day closer to our ultimate goals! ![]() |

That is sexy! I really like that, a lot. Looking at bathing suits with you. I found one that I am thinking about getting.
Thanks for the compliment on the pic. The first time I saw it, I looked at my DH and told him, "I almost look skinny!" Every now and then I can see it. Today he was hugging me and told me that he can touch his elbows. This morning when DH weighed himself, over the course of the last 24 hours (and the bug that has got him), he has lost 7 pounds. Always knew he was full of sh**. ![]() |

That is a nice bathing suit. I really wish I could do bathing suits without having to wear shorts or skirts, because of a really horrible c-section scar and how my weight is.. there's a terrible gap and it show thru regular bathing suits. I have seriously thought about if and when I do get below goal, I'd have reconstructive surgery on that area, it would run along the lines of a tummy tuck, that is if I can find the right doctor to do it. Even when I was skinner after the c-section, it looked bad, just a real deep pocket of a scar... idiot woman doctor from the land of sand!!!!IYKWIM.
I read posts where other women are trying to get use to seeing the skinner version of themselves in the mirror. I think I could understand that, just cant wait to be there!~!! As far as pictures, you are doing great...have to say that dress almost looks too big, was it loose on ya???? Im awful for asking! what size are you in now... Im so nosey~!~!~ How are you handling the comments friends and family give, those that havent seen you in a while? Even with just 50lb, I'm having a hard time taking the compliments.. weird but I guess Ive never been the type to get them, so getting them is new.. and at times I dont know what to say...but thanks.. of course, but at times I want to crawl under a rock... does that make sense????? I should post that question at the PG and see if Im not the only one. I slept in today. woke at 1:30am and couldnt get back to sleep till 4am.. bout the time hubby gets up... I ignored him and stayed in bed. got up at 9am...need to eat before I get too hungry and eat something I will regret. Scales said 191 this morning.. god I hate those scales. At least Im not at 200 still. Rambling.. here... more later,... need to repost most of this on my blog.. lol... have a good one. elbow hugs! LOL>.... had to say that! ![]() sorry for being so full of questions~ |

A tummy tuck and boob lift (and maybe a cup bigger) are on my goal list. Even if I were to get a tummy tuck, I would never be able to wear a two piece bathing suit. When I was pregnant with DS14, I ended up with huge, deep stretch marks above my belly button to just below my rib cage. It is unfortunate that the part of my stomach that would be cut away has the little, not so bad stretch marks. I figure that will be something that I will talk to a doctor about eventually.
That dress is actually a bit too big on me. It is a 16. I had it in the back of my closet, haven't been able to wear it in a couple of years. That picture was taken right before we went to DH's grandpa's funeral. We didn't have the time or the money to go and buy a new dress, so I found the smallest one that I had. Right now I am wearing a 12 or 14. I do have a pair of jeans that are a size 10 that I can squeeze into, but believe me, you don't wanna see that! I am also wearing a size L instead of a 2 or 3X. I want to fit a size 10 comfortably and be able to squeeze into an 8 if I so choose to. That is what I am thinking right now, anyway.Today I weigh 164.5. Up half a pound. It's all good, though. I ate yesterday and it has helped me feel a lot better. For dinner last night I made a big pot of greens with ham hocks, baked "fried" chicken, and homemade mac and cheese. It was so good. I am almost surprised that a half pound was all that I did gain. Yesterday I went to the store and paid for something with my credit card. The guy behind the counter asked to see my ID. So, I showed it to him. He looked at it and looked at me. Looked back at the ID and said, "Wow! You sure do look different!" I do get a lot of comments about the weight loss. I take most of them ok. It is hard for me to receive and accept compliments. I wonder if that is from years of self loathing? There were lots of comments about how good I look from our families while we were visiting. My dad made me stand up so that he could see me. The last time I saw them, I was down 30 pounds, so being down an additional 30 I am sure really made a difference. The first pic is of me on my bike in Oct. 06, before starting LC, the second is of myself and DH's family in May of 07. Then of me and my dogs this Dec. I can see the change in pics. It is kinda cool. In fact, I find that I don't hide as much from the camera anymore. Sometimes I can see it in the mirror too, but mostly I still see the fat chick that will never be skinny. Even though, in my head I know differently. Elbow hugs. I thought it was quite hilarious too! My youngest son gave me a hug last night and was able to grasp his wrists instead of just touching his fingers. That rocks! ![]() |

Have any of you checked out the Rice Diet? I am contemplating that for a change. Maybe for a month or so. |

I've seen it (Rice Diet) mentioned but never really looked into it...I'm trying to watch my calories to a certain degree... I guess I need to do a clean induction.. leave SF alone.. I've not been drinking water like I should ..
I had a salad at lunch at a "Shake & Steak" restaurant, it had honey walnuts in it.. not suppose to, but ask to leave the coutons off... were they thinking I wanted a replacement.... i ate them and sure enough I was craving sweets in an hour.. found a Advantage Low carb bar.. and that made my head swim... so I'm sure tomorrow there will be no loss. I meant to say how I appreciate you getting personal with the sizes etc.. it just gives me hope that I can reach those sizes without having to be a 125 to fit a 10/12. You should post your before/during/ after shots.. you'd inspire a lot of people! You really would! I'm still hanging around 190..191 this morning.. I've not cheated that I know of.. maybe I should cut out the cottage cheese...? Have to go.. and finish dinner.. bbq pork in crock pot.. just have to toss the "cheaters"coleslaw in a bag together! I hate cutting a whole head of cabbage so those cheap bags are great! MOre Later! |

Thanks Paula.
![]() ![]() As far as posting the personal stuff (such as sizes), I feel that it is all relevant to what we are doing, going through, aiming for, or whatever the situation at the time is. You, Justine, and Mary help me out a lot. I will do what I can to repay the kindness. I have been really good today. I ate one peanut butter truffle, bacon and eggs for lunch, 2 olives stuffed with jalapeno and garlic (wow, those are good!), and half of a scotch egg for dinner. Just wasn't too hungry at dinner. I haven't had as much water as I should have, but I have had a little more than what has become normal. Tomorrow is DH's day off. We may be having company for dinner. So, I am thinking grilled chicken breasts topped with sauteed mushrooms, garlic, onion, and bell pepper with melted cheese on top. Maybe I will also grill some squash and zucchini to go with that. Sliced tomato, pickle, and cheese to go on the side? I am sure that I will change my mind before tomorrow night gets here. Maybe a LC dessert too. |

Yes I won it~ I cant wait to actually get it.. all the way from CANADA!!!! LOL
I got a reply from a Dr here in Knoxville Tn that does tummy tucks. If I have one, it will cost around 4600.00.. do you think thats fairly good price.. I did tell him I wasnt ready till next year this time because my goal is to lose 50 more lbs... I want the scar fixed and the extra gone! Now Im thinking instead of buying on ebay , I need to start selling and saving!!! I could use inherited money from dad, but then I'd have nothing to fall back on.. my little egg.. LOL... but I think Id rather save and just see how bad my stomach turns out as far as extra skin. wish I could go to mexico and get one.. have you read how cheap they are.~~ More later... Hugs!~ still at 190 this am.. boooo |

Afternoon!
![]() Just got home from doing todays shops. Now the not so fun part begins- paperwork. Last night we went to Country Buffet for dinner. I kept it low carb. I did get chocolate lava cake and peach cobbler. I had two tiny bites of each; together they may have equaled a bite total. This morning my weight was down to 162. Today I have had LOTS of water. For breakfast I made a recipe that I found on the Totally Induction Recipes thread called Italian Quiche. It was really good. I just ate another piece of it. Italian Quiche 8 eggs 3 oz pepperoni 3 oz cooked sausage 3 oz mozzerella 1 oz parmesan 1 oz onion 1 oz mushroom 1/2T garlic powder 1/2T red pepper flake (or use all garlic powder) 1/4C Hunts NSA spaghetti sauce (or other LC sauce) Blend everything together EXCEPT the parmesan cheese. Bake @350 for 30 minutes (or until inserted knife comes out clean) shake the parmesan on top and serve. Tonight I am making Paula Deen's Hurry Up Chicken Pot Pie (the carbquik way) Paula Deen's Hurry Up Chicken Pot Pie (the carbquik way) My DH is excited about this recipe. Last night I tried to make a LC coffee cake. My mixer seized up on me, so that didn't happen. I was so upset. ![]() |

Down another pound! 161. If I keep it up, maybe I will finally break out of the 160's within a week or so.
Also, if I lose only 2 pounds a week, I can be AT GOAL in 6 weeks. Wow!! I do have a TT consultation the 22nd of February. I would love to be at goal (or darn near) when I go see him. So, I plan on being a little more strict than I normally would.Paula, have you seen the thread by nurse stacie? She just went for her TT consultation. She has posted some wonderful information. Tummy Tuck consultation tomorrow! Thinking about meatloaf for dinner tonight. Think that I will start a thread to see if I can get a few recipe ideas. |

I woke up, hopped on the scale and was excited to see 159.5! I haven't weighed this little since shortly before my DH and I got together. I was so excited that I went upstairs, grabbed my cell phone, took a picture of the scale and sent it to DH. Didn't text him anything, just sent the pic.
![]() Yesterday I ate: B: 1 fried egg and 2 slices bacon L: piece of Italian quiche with about a tablespoon of pizza sauce on top S: 1 peanut butter truffle S: Scotch egg D: Caesar salad and a bite of crab alfredo that DD17 made for dinner. The biggest change I have made is I am drinking LOTS of water. I still drink coffee with artificial sweetener and about half of the time with cream also. So far today I have had a Scotch egg and a can of Starbucks doubleshot light. I figure the 6 carbs in that little can is probably the same amount that I would have in my coffee that I didn't make. ![]() Alrighty, I am outta here for a bit. Got two shops to do and I wanna get them knocked out nice and early today. |
