Looking to Kick the Last 10 Lbs. Buddy Up?

I'm a huge advocate of lo-carb, it's helped me get to my current weight today. However, I slip every now and then and am bored with my 'rain man' recipes and routines.

10lbs to go and was wondering if anyone would want to buddy up to kick the last 10 in the next 3-4 months? Recipe exchanges? Workout routines? Daily food journal sharing?

Nobody wants a buddy?

I guess if I can't find a buddy I'll post my daily journal to encourage myself so here it goes:

breakfast:
1 cup of shrimp plain
1/2 cup of broccoli plain
1 tbsp lo carb dip here is the recipe (sugar free sheila site):

Induction-Friendly, Sumptuous
Honey Mustard Dressing
4 total carbs for entire recipe
3/4 cup mayonnaise
½ cup mustard
¼ tsp. red cayenne pepper
¼ tsp. garlic powder
3 packets Splenda
Mix well & chill in refrigerator.

lunch:
3 slices of roasted turkey (not coldcut, but real turkey)

16 ounces of water

**Does anyone have an induction dessert ideas? I have a HUGE sweet tooth and my husband eats ice cream at night, but I don't want to be tempted.

phanks!

Thanks!
I've been great with lo carbing before (bread is my weakness!) and I just need to get those last 10 off without slipping along the way.

From 7pm on is the hardest time because I usually bake for co-workers and friends.

I will check out that info you gave me regarding desserts!

I just had a HUGE company meeting and they served chocolate dipped strawberries, fudge brownies, crackers, cheese.....I just got a selzter and tried not to look at anything....!

Frustrated

I gained 1lb when I weighed myself this morning.

Here's my menu from 3/16

1 cup plain shrimp 0 cb
1/2 cup plain broccoli 4cb
1 tbsp lo carb dip (entire recipe is 4 carbs)
3 slices of roasted turkey (i patted off the gravy with napkins)
16 ounces of water
jalapeno nachos 1 cb
vodka with seltzer (4 ounces) could this have been the problem??
fake buffalo chicken (recipe on boards) 5 cb
lo carb dip 2 tbsp
16 ounces of water

i thought my weight would go down a few ounces not UP a lb.

I hit the gym 4 days this week and I'm going to trudge through the snow to go again this morning.

Do I cut out cheese too?

argh

Induction

Yes, on induction and I know alcohol is a no-no. Somehow thought the 4 ounces wouldn't kill me yesterday but I'm in the worst mood now because of it.

I have my best friend's birthday party tonight in NYC and whammo St. Patty's Day on top of it. No alcohol, I have to be super willpower and just have seltzer. Can I complain about that

Heading to the gym in a half hour, packed my workout book and meeting a friend.

No breakfast (that's how aggravated I am)

I guess for lunch I could have salmon and some spinach? And I'll keep pounding water. I plan on staying at the gym for at least 2 hours. (I'm a stubborn Italian girl).

So did you notice anything else wrong with my menu? I'll take any tips.
Thinking of cutting cheese out for the next few days.

Food Journal for 3.18

Up early today, I know I'm tired but I can't go back to sleep. Everyone was boozin hardcore last night and I resisted the temptation to try the cookies/brownies that my husband and I brought. He went to an awesome bakery but I made sure to stay clear of that box!

Snack: 2 scandinavian brancrisps
1 tbsp or less of cream cheese spread thinly
3 carbs?

Am making this for breakfast:
6 eggs
1/8 cup heavy cream
3 oz cheese
1/2 cup ground turkey

Preheat oven 350. Spray 3 superlarge muffin tins with PAM. Place slightly cooked turkey at the bottom of each cup. Mix eggs and cream and salt & pepper. Pour some in each tin. Sprinkle with half the cheese. Pour remaining egg mixture in and sprinkle with rest of cheese. Bake about 20 min.(time may vary) til eggs are done and golden. Remove from oven and let sit few minutes. Use spoon to remove "muffins".

Serves 3: @ 1.6 carb, 0 fiber, 272 Calories, 21 fat, 17 protein

Good so far?

Are Scandinavian Brancrisps OK for Induction?

I needed a crisp and bought these, they are the only 'man made' food I eat during induction and it just occurred to me that maybe I shouldn't be eating these?

By the way I have these for breakfast and they are so delicious! Thanks Dylan!

EGG "MUFFIN"

6 turkey
6 eggs (I think I only had 4 and I used mostly egg whites)
1/8 cup heavy cream
3 oz cheese (I forgot it said 3 and I used just 1 ounce!)
OPTIONAL: salsa, bacon, onion

Preheat oven 350. Spray 3 superlarge muffin tins with PAM. Put mostly cooked turkey in the bottom of each tin.

Serves 3 @ 2.3 carbs, 0 fiber, 409 Calories, 32 fat, 22 protein
W/O Sausage: 3 @ 1.6 carb, 0 fiber, 272 Calories, 21 fat, 17 protein

awesome

That's so great! 2lbs down you are getting closer to your goal.

I had selzter with lime on Saturday night. Yesterday I went to a HUGE italian dinner and it was easy to turn down the wine (whew). The food looked good but after closer inspection the baked ziti looked limp and all the chicken was completely fried. I don't like that anyway --so to make sure I didn't offend the host, I ate the inside of the chicken and not the outside/breaded part. It was a task fer sure because there were 40 people there and I didn't want any,"what are you doing with your food?" comments. You know how people love to critcize a diet or new way of eating. So ridick.

Last night let my hub eat the candy, I had tea. Whoo hooo!

tell me bout it

Don't people love giving advice! That's why I try not to say anything (other than telling my husband everything). I think low carb works and I feel healthier, I'm not stuffing my face with cheese or eating red meat every day. But everyone just rolls their eyes and makes comments when I'm not sticking my hands in the work jellybean jar or eating free donuts.

I used to get the worst migraines, now, NADA. I was on medicine and everything, took topamax daily. Haven't had a migraine in 2 months. Fabulosity!

What's your daily menu like?

I have to find good pork skins.. the ones at my grocery store were: . My husband literally spit it out (I did the fake breading thing with chicken) and he never eeeever is picky about food.

Oh smoking, don't even get my started on that! I stopped smoking 2 1/2 months ago and my best friend smokes. She just says,"oh that sucks for you." WHAT? NO IT DOESN'T! Smoking is BAD and causes so many problems! I love that my chest doesn't feel so tight after a night of cigs.

Pfffft to all those peeps!

my journal n stuff

I've been posting my daily journal on the 'journal, daily menus' link if you wanna check that out. I made some cool egg 'muffins' that came in HANDY dandy today (sweeet).

I used to wreak of smoke, hanging out in the bars of NYC. And then my sheets and pillows would smell after a night of going out. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that anymore...and who wants to hang out in the cold smokin when everyone is inside all warm and cozy? Beats me, I don't crave it anymore.

Dinner tonight is this: (but I'm omitting the bacon).

HOT OR COLD CHICKEN SALAD

8 oz chicken
3-4 T mayonnaise
1 c shredded Cheddar cheese
1 T dijon mustard
1 T ea chopped: onion, red pepper, parsley
4 slices bacon, cooked crisp, crumbled

Mix all ingredients together. Place in refrigerator to cool or bake at 350 for 20 minutes til hot and bubbly.

(Serves 2 @ 3 carbs, 0 fiber, 582 cal, 44 fat, 45 protein)

YUM

KC Masterpiece BBG Seasons? What's that? Sounds so good.

I LOVE WINGS... I could eat them every day and not complain. Hopefully will hit up Costco this week so I can buy a bag of frozen nekkid wings and make some hot sauce. My downfall is I like bluecheese or sour cream with them so I'll have to measure out my carbs carefully.

For Breakfast I had:
1/2 cup cucumbers
Lo carb Honey Mustard (1tbsp)
egg *muffin (made a huge batch and I just heat em up at work).

16 ounces of water.

Hoping to hit the gym in 5 minutes...

Lunch is leftovers from dinner last night, I have half a piece of chicken. WOOT!

You are

almost at your MINI GOAL!!! How cool is that?

I hit up the gym. Did a treadmill workout (sprint/walk uphill) then some lunges with a medicine ball and leg lifts. It woke me up because I was soooo tired this morning. But by 4pm I'll want to take a nap.

I love softball!!!

I played catcher for 2 years on my company team. Now my new company doesn't have a group of people that really wants to play. It's sooooo much fun.

LUCKY!

I was starving so I had to run out and buy a salad. Chicken with romane lettuce, 2 ounces of blue cheese and less than 1/2 cup cucumbers, light on the casaer dressing.
