Any Nurses out There?

Hi all,

I was wondering if there any nurses out there that are doing low carb?

Looking for support and encouragement from others in the nursing and medical professions who are trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle doing low carb. It is hard to take care of ourselves when we are so busy taking care of everyone else.We recognize the difficulties of crazy schedules, family obligations and break rooms full of junk food .

Looking for a few nurses to share our daily food and exercise journals with and vent about our work day.

yes..breakrooms are a disaster. Christmas was with all the thousands of cookies around. I work nights...I think it's worse cause we eat sometimes to stay awake...vending machine at 3am.

Yes I have done this before. I always feel sooo much better when I am on low carb...have more energy, don't feel stuffed. But then I fall off the wagon and start eating sugar.

WOE: ATKINS
Start Date: February 2007
Hi Karen

I am an RN in Texas. I did the Atkin's "thing" about 8 years ago, lost 25 pounds and then decided I could just eat like I wanted to. Then, Ya, you guessed it, I gained it all back!!!
I started exercising about 5 days a week 1 1/2 years ago but didn't change my eating habits. Didn't lose and didn't gain. So I knew I also needed to change my eating habits!
So here I am again- hope it "sticks" this time!

Julie M.
