Ok where to start? My name is Sheri, I'm married and have 3 kids. A 9 y.o. step-son, 9 y.o. son, and a 3 y.o. daughter. I did low carb about 5 years ago and lost over 80 pounds. But when I got pregnant again, the stress of potentially having another sick baby was too much and I went nuts. (DS was born with a heart and stomach defect, but is fine now) My daughter was born fine, as they said with my son, but the next year proved that she was healthy. Unfortunately, I'd already done the damage to my weight.

So here I am again, back at it, and no more kids for me, so that won't be a stumbling block later down the road.

I'm 36, 5'5 1/2", been (re)married for 5 years now. I live on the coast of California.

It's always great to have someone to talk to. I have quite a bit of family around, however it isn't the same as having someone who's going through this with you. So glad you posted!

I work from home during the day (but am looking for a PT day job), and have a night job out at my DH's family restaurant. I really need to get my DD into preschool, and since it's really expensive here I need to take on a third job for a while. The real estate market is slow here right now anyway, so not doing as much there as I'd like to.

Well hello again
I am a stay at home secretary(sp)
I was over the road with my dh but we now own two trucks and have a few of those pilot cars (that you see with over size loads)
so now I have paper work out the wazooooo
plus trying to be accountant and tax preparer right now
plus be mom and wife, dog keeper upper
some times I have to just sit down take a deep breath and say okay I am taking 5 mins for myself.
My mom and brothers are the only family that I have I am real close to my mom but my brothers are a different story.
Dh's mom is ok but we are not close.

And it does make a difference in having a friend and being able to share your experiences with.
so far this morning I have had 2 mini meals and a half a pot of coffee
the house is cleaned and I am still washing clothes
I've been to the bank the post office and tractor supply store to get bird seed
I need to run to krogers and get some veggies.
but for now I am off to feed the birds and walk the dog and when we get back I'll probably give her a bath??
Still undecided about that don't know that I want to wrestle and 60 lb dog and bring her inside??

Anyway, I know it's later in the day there, but girl you're making me feel like I'm slacking!! Seriously tho, sounds like you, too, have a lot on your plate. all right it is 7:30 here and I took the dog for a walk early (it was more like a drag she walked or drug me) then mom came over tonight and we done some dancing for about hour and a 1/2 my legs are cramping already

I can't imagaine have a 3 year old in the house, mine are half grown and could probably take care of themselves.

Good Morning!

No, I didn't have to work last night.. got tons of bad news yesterday so I was wallowing in self pity... lol. But I was very good and did not go buy a cheesecake!

They own a steak house. Did you ever see the movie 'Sideways'? The restaurant in that movie was the Hitching Post. They own that one too, but I work at the original one about an hour north of there. It's a really great low carb choice as we dont' use any sauces, or sugar in most of the dressings, and you can order grilled veggies instead of potatoe.

Not too bad with the 3 year old in the house, she's pretty good, my son was too at that age. Lately he's been getting into trouble at school. Seems that there's this kid there that picks on him, and instead of walking away or telling a teacher, he pops him one... been suspended twice in 2 weeks for losing his temper like this. I'm looking for some help for his anger issues (he gets it from his real dad who was abusive), but unfortunately we fall through the cracks for insurance... make too much money for reduced insurance and too little to pay for it privately... don't know what to do. He's really bright (in the GATE program for gifted children) and the principal is trying real hard to help me get him some help for his anger. Other than when he's being picked on, he's the sweetest, smartest, most caring kid! It's just something inside of him 'snaps' and well then that's it.

WTG on the exercise!!! I'm so busy all the time, that I don't really have time for 'formal' exercise, but I do walk on my nights off from the restaurant. it's something.

Hopefully you have a terrific day!!! I'm 'supposed' to work tonight too, but we'll see if they call me off again

sorry about the bad news but congrats on not getting the cheesecake
I know all about the insurance we are in the same boat. Not offered thru where Dh works we make to much for state help and by the time I would pay the premium and the deductible it would be just as cheap for me to borrow the money and make payments oh yeah and don't forget about the 20% copay go figure
my ds is different he was getting picked on and on and on and on and just kept walking away until one day I finally had enough and told him to get out there and kick the boys a$$ And he didn't even have to fight him all he had to was confront him and to this day the boy has not picked on him again
have not xercised today my legs are sore maybe the kids will take a walk with me
the resturant sounds great I could go for a good steak right now I'm starving here I go to eat some hot wings

Good morning my new friend!!

I ended up not working again.. at this rate we'll qualify for state help with insurance! I've only worked 2 days this month so far As far as DS, he's always been kind of small (because of his heart surgery when he was a baby) and I dont' know why, but it seems that he's got to prove he's just as big and strong as the other kids... and really hates being teased! (or laughed at)

Great job on the exercise! I know it's hard to keep it up when you are sore, but soon that will go away! You should be very proud of yourself, and your losses so far! I originally started out where you did, and am really wanting to get to 154ish.. you are a great motivation to me! Thanks again!

Good morning! It's 7:20 a.m. here, and at least I get to work tonight... well 99.9% sure I get to work anyway lol...

Glad that you got to spend some time with your DH! Sometimes we just need some quiet time with our men I had to go help my dad with my aunt yesterday... she's really ill. She's had diabetes for a long time, and got a rare for of cirrhosis that killed her liver. It's called Nash Cirrhosis, and we were all shocked because she's never drank alcohol. They say it's caused by the diabetes. The doctors are trying to determine if she's a candidate for a liver transplant.. I just hope they figure it out before she dies. Anyway, I sat with her so my dad could take a break and run some errands, and he came back to the house with roses! For me! I couldn't believe it as he's never done that before.

I've been really on track.. 20-something days cheat free. I seem to be really determined and motivated this time. Must have something do with with having a great penpal !! No need to thank me, I believe I'm getting so much out of having you to talk to! I'm going to love being as successful as you are!

Well the weekend wasn't that bad afterall. I went to the In-Laws side of the family wedding, and was blessed with not having to sit with MIL. I saw a lot of people I hadn't seen! I was a mess getting ready for it because the skirt I planned on wearing was too big (kind of YAY) but it was the only thing I had, so I had to wear it anyway. I just wish that I'd been a little farther along in my weighloss by the time I'd seen some of these people. Oh well... Thanksgiving will be here before I know it, and I'll see these people again, only almost at goal!

Sunday, we just got my van ready to sell, or started it anyway. I need to get a little more work done to it and detail the inside and we're good to go.

My aunt was supposed to be admitted to the hospital so that they could do the liver transplant evaluation, but someone messed up and they didn't have a bed available for her. We're waiting now to get a call telling us what hospital we need to take her to. Grrrrr... she's too sick for mistakes!

I cannot wait to see your pics!! That is so exciting and when I get closer to goal I want to have mine done. Is it expensive? Maybe I'll even get a boudoir one done for hubby--- lol!

Anyway, hope you've had a great day. Today was my weigh in and this week I only dropped 1.2 pounds. I'm sure inches are creeping off too, so I'm not too worried.

My week-end was spent with a stuffed up head cold and i am still fighting with it. Nothing I take seems to help it. I am on allegery medication to and thats doesn't even help.

We had a storm here this morning but it cleared out and now is all sunny out, well thats Fla. weather for ya.

My only weight lost was about six pounds for the last two months. Wish I was losing faster but I can't seem to.
I lost pretty fast when I first began but after losing so much it has slowed up so much. But I am sastified with what I am doing.

Hi, May I join?

I am 53 and have lost approx. 70 lbs on Atkins. I have been married for 30 years and 3 grown children DD1 27, , DD2, 25, and Ds 22. I started in Nov of 2000 and it took several years to take of the weight. I have been able to maintain the weight loss this time( was a yo-yo) dieter for about 30 years, but I agree with Cindy, It is a constant battle. I just had an ice cream binge last week a gallon and a half in 2 days and was freaking out that my pants were tight. I had never gone over the deep end ( eating like that) like that before. I hope I have it under controll for now. I still struggle everyday with making the right choices.

Cindy & Mary congrats on you weight loss I know how hard work it is.

hi everyone
I have had one ----- Week mom had a spell with her heart and tried to play it off we had to play music for a valentine's dance and then today I ended up being at the hospital (71 miles from the house) with my mom they ended up do a heart cath. Every thing looked fine as far as no blockage. So I brought her back to my house to momsit. She can't be left alone for the first 24 hours
there is a possabilty that she could bleed to death if that seal in her artery breaks loose(sp)
I wasn't able to post the pics I will try later
SHERI ------ Yeahhhhh on the skirt being to big you know the inches are coming off even if the scale is creeping along!!!!!!!And 1.2 loss is better than a gain ----- I also hope that the real esate picks up for you !!!!!

MARY---- condrats on the weight that you already have lost maybe your body is just trying to catch up I know there were times when I would lose real fast and then would do nothing for weeks But I stuck with it even if I messed up I got right back on I hope your head cold is getting better
what ever bug went around here stayed on for weeks didn't think we were ever going to get rid of it but I think it has ran it's course now
KAYAN-----I haven't done a binge in so long (not bragging) but I do understand I really don't crave sweets but I crave crunchy salty things
AS far as the weather I could handle some sand and sunshine right now it was 22 with the wind chill it was 12
MY pic is Cabo San Lucas Mexico AND DH is going to take me there some day and I am going to get a tummy tuck and a boob job and ohhhh I sorry I was dreaming again

Cindy & Mary: We are going to be neighbors!!! I am also buying a house in a warm climate when I when the lottery. Hope your mom is doing better. I know how that goes. I "only " work 3 days a week, a 9 hr day and 2 14hr days. work 36 don't get paid for lunch time. so I am the sibling that runs to all the Drs. appt for my parents. I had a cardiology appt yesterday and an Onocology appt this am that was to be a quick appt an injection but it turned into a 4 hour appt because they was so busy due to the Blizzard we had 2 days ago.
My siblings all work mon- fri so its hard for them. They don't always remeber that I get my hours in in 3 days instead of 5. and I work every third week end.
I work this Sat & sun 14 hous each day and 9 on Mon. plus travel which is approx. 35 minutes when the traveling is good each way.

Loli: you did it once you can do it again just keep plugging away at it.

Cindy I hope your mom is doing better and things are getting back to "normal" for you. Glad that you are making better food choices. I am also working on that and portion control. I have a ladies weekend coming up i 3 weeks. My girlfriend and I are going to Atlantic City leaving on a Friday about 3 am and coming home on Monday. We do this once a year and always have a good time. The weather here today is great supose to be in the 30's a heat wave for us. but we are suppose to get more snow tomorrow afternoon. Of course, I work 14 hrs tomorrow and picked up Friday as an extra day

Hi all

Cindy: I am going to Atlanic city in N.J. for St. Patricks weekend. That's where all the casinos are.. Hopefully it will be a lot warmer then. We have been in the single numbers or teens with the wind blowing. I have also worked extra this week. I normally work one 9 hour day and 2 14 hour days a week but I picked up Friday and that turned into a 15 hour day.

I have also been trying to make better food choices for the last week and half and my jeans are already fitting better. I am trying to stay on target using my upcoming trip as motivation. We always have lots of fun, I do very well keeping to a low carb way of eating when we go, I bring plenty of low carb snacks I do allow my self a dessert while there. We order room service every morning and really enjoy our omlets and fresh strawberries and cream..
We always, if weather permits go and walk the board walk for exercise and visit the other casinos.
