Layers

Last night w/ running on an ottoman hunt (looking for square, brown leather-HUGE!) Kate is still running around w/ a sweatshirt and scarf. She gets so cold all the time but used to be so hot she never owned a winter coat. I am always hot (fat thing I know it!) so I wear like a fleece thing and scarf, but dress w/ a couple shirts under it. Those temps literally cut you....it's bad. They are suggesting not to go out unless you need to, which, HEL-LO it's the weekend---go go go!

Diarrhea last night. Think it's the "junk plate" I feel better w/ whole foods, that aren't junky, ya know? The weekend will be the proof to see if I can eat sparingly-so many treats/eats/options when I am home. Last night I was "looking" at this mix Kate bought- an asian snack mix and she was like " what are you doing in there?" I was like, looking - chill! She said I just don't want you eating that--you had another great day!
She is so there now, for some reason. Shopping w/ her is another story. I swear she doesn't realize she does it but EVERYTHING I say I like (it can be for anyone) seems to need her approval. If I put it in the cart she's like, "whats that, who for, how much!" Last night I was like, "look- that S**T has got to stop! I make a lot of the money, I am going to spend w/o permission what I want-WHEN I want for WHO I want. GOT IT?" I was crying about it because I have developed this complex now, that I never had...almost like asking Mom...when the truth is she is just nosey and doesn't care. I dont know- it was just irritating me!!!!!!!!!!!!
So glad you have E to workout w/ you. I am not confident that will ever be Kate exercising by my side...unless you count shopping/walking minutes as exercise....
OK-should go bathe Stela. Today is my nephew Myles bday and Kate has promised him (and Madi too!) new bikes!
More shopping, oh darn!
Good Sat. wishes ladies!
Where are you T??!?!?!

SAT

Good Sat morning girls...J..tell K how you feel..don't let the resentment box get filled up! Marriage gets better every year..especially when stuff is talked about.

Well girls..I did it to myself again..this is how I know I have an eating disorder. Why on earth did I eat a piece of choc cake last night? I wasn't hungry and I don't even prefer chocolate? Self sabotage? Thinking about something that was bothering me? I dunno..all I got out of it was a stomach ache and guilt feelings..classic huh? I got on the treadmill and burned 400 cals and will run on the treadmill around 2 to make up for it but talk about a lesson not learned.

Ashley..I wish Rick would exercise with me too..he just doesn't..always talks about it but unless I ask..nothing. I am convinced if he pushed me I would do much better.

Have a great Saturday beautiful ladies

Spending your money

Jina, I totally get you on the spending your own money. E makes all the money and I never have to ask permission to spend any of it, we always have wads of cash around the house and it could be there till the day I die and I would never spend it unless it was for something really great, and he knows that. On the other hand, E makes all the money, and is always trying to buy junk (and I am talking junk food, that we already have plenty of, of 5ths and 6ths of things we already have and don't use) and I get so tired of veetoing all of his choices, lol. I feel bad sometimes, since he does "bring home the bacon", but if I left the household budget up to him we would be in the poor house with 30 pots to piss in. So I totally feel you on spending/not spending frustration. Anyhow, I guess it is an around about way of agreeing with T about letting Kate know it bothers you. All in all, a small price to pay to spend an afternoon with your best bud shopping, I always remind myself that when I get frustrated shopping with E. Sorry it made you cry, I too am a big cry baby, any little thing will start the water works with me. Hugs hope everything is all better now! Mwah!

Page 18!! We can talk! I did a little looking and sorting by most busy threads, I think we are about nuber 7 or 8 if I remember correctly, but many of the other ones have been around for a lot longer than us, so we are up and coming! Watch out forum, here we come!

Love ya, Ash
PS. sucks about the runs, hope everything solidifies soon, lol

T, isn't it weird that food can hold such a strong grasp on us!! So unfair! Anyway, don't sweat it. Sounds like you worked it out on the tread.

I feel so lucky that E is exercising with me, I must admit that is does make it harder to put off, if I don't feel like doing anything at night, E will say come on, let's do such and such routine, usually that will do the trick. If I still am reluctant he goes on and does it anyways, and that really gets me, me sitting in bed watching him exercise alone, so I will get up and do it with him.

If your hubby will do it if you ask him, just keep asking, my guess is that after you ask a bunch of times, he will start to get on your routine and be ready to exercise with you.

Much love, ash

last Sat check in

Money is a big thing in a relationship..thank God I don't have any issues..I guess that's why I'm still married. Rick makes all the $ and I spend what I want..no questions asked. I do agree that big purchases (like a boat ) we bought cuz hubby was in mid life crisis LOL Anyway, a little communication goes a long way..we all know this.

Ash..you are sweet..thanks for your encouragement...I needed that. Hubby will workout with me if I really wanted to..maybe I'd just like him to make the effort on his own? Where is our lovely Jina?

hey girls!

Crappy day here, it's like -15 degrees and bitter wind! YIKERS!
Got a lot of great stuff done today, and Myles bday was awesome, except he got sick late into his party (fever). They are the sweetest, most polite and well behaved kids ever.

I must have mislead you both in thinking a. Kate and I don't communicate well and b. that she would have to guess/not know how I feel. First off, there is no guess work w/ us. I wear my heart on my sleeve and noone has ever accused me of having to make them guess how I feel. Also, I am spoiled rotten by her. She makes a fair share of the $$ and whatever I want-I always get...so I am usually careful to ask since I am liable to walk home and see it after work someday...something I mentioned months ago...that type of thing.
I just get irritated sometimes, it's one of those petty things. She likes to give to me and Stela, and I like to give to ALL so it's a bit of a difference, but all in all..it works out well. Thats a bonus of 2 women being together--no guessing w/ the whole Venus/Mars thing...though, that is double the hormone imbalances during TOM and it's kinda hairy sometimes! Mostly me though. I can be a real bit*h sometimes, and she is almost always sweet. In our wedding we put in our vows that I make the ends meet and she keeps them tied. That is pretty much it. We also added that only one of us can get "crazy" at a time. TRUE!
SO, today I didn't exercise. Just dont want to! I did get a fancy new Mp3 player though and am dying to test it out! TOMORROW!
Cake, T? I dont know why we do those things. We always will! When my friend talked to her nutritionist about losing weight she was like, I want to be able to eat cake from time to time and not have it be a big deal, and the nutritionist said, was it YOUR birthday??? HARSH! I cant be that strict!
OK-off to scrapbook now that Stela is sleeping.....see ya both tomorrow.
Ash I was laughing out loud w/ the 30 pots.
Great stuff.

Good Morning! Super Sunday.

Morning girls! Hope you all are having a great Sunday! Weather was supposed to be ugly today, but so far so good, we got sun!

Jina, I know you and Kate have a great relationship, and that is the best thing in the world. I really like what you put in your vows, you make ends meet and she keeps em tied together. That is such a great saying/point of view!!! I love it! I guess that would really fit E and me too, except I am the tying together half. So cool! I thought you would think my 30 pots would be funny, it is so true though.

The cake and nutritionist thing, that was a harsh thing to say, but I guess in a small way it is true, pick and choose, when you want to spend the calories.

So glad Myles had a good bday, but too bad he got sick at the end, what a bummer to end your bday sick! Hugs to him! Did he like his new bike?

Ooo, you got a new Mp3, wow, you outgrew your other one already. I hear they are addicting, I have yet to get one. So cool! You should be grooving/exercising to some new tunes soon. I wish they made downloadable books on tape affordable. Right now I am stuck on barrowing from Library and listening while I jog, I get to tune out of the rest of the worls while I run. The time seems to pass much faster. Yesterday I ran 15 minutes before I even looked at my watch twice! Last night we did our cardio kickbox routine and pilates, they were so much easier now that we have been doing the slim in 6, almost too easy, amazing! When I first tried the kickbox, a year ago, I couldn't even finish it without huffing and puffing. I wokd this moring and did the next harder kickbox routine before I even ate, it was more challenging, more suited to my ability now. I just looked up my daily expenditures of calories, and just by losing the weight I have already lost, I use about 200 calories less a day! Wow, I really have to move more to make up for those cals.

I think I'll make my chili today as a treat, but it won't blow the carb budget. E is going to buy beers and treat himself, and requested nachos, I am planning not to eat them, cross my fingers I will resist

Alright girls, we're off to the track to see if we can run a mile yet. Will report on that later today, have a great one!!! yas much, Ash

Monday after

Well I didn't do too bad yesterday. Ate well all morning, then finally at about 4 we got out the ball game food. I made nachos for E and the kids, and I had a nacho salad. All the fixins of nachos minus tons of chips, just a few crumbled on top, it was so good I didn't even miss not eating the real ones. No beers! Actually, whenever I have ordered nachos in a restaurant, I always ordered with tons of lettuce, love that fresh crunch. So, nacho salad is really spot on. Alas, after that I had a few more chips, and wrapped the evening up with a mini ice cream bar that wasn't even that good, but only 8 carbs. It was a fun night to just hang out.

Hope you girls had a great night! I am off to Curves, burn up those carbs. E and I might go for another hike with the twins. Looks cloudy though so I am not sure what exactly the weather is doing, and I don't feel like getting soggy today.

Have a great one!! Check ya later Ash

Morning sugars!

How are you? T, no report??? Well, the super bowl brought super eating. Not too overly carby but it wasn't good! I had some of this raspberry fluffy stuff my MIL made. It was good. Pampered Chef recipe. I just love them!!!

Ash-sounds like you are rockin through the workouts, just as inspiring as ever! It was really cold again yesterday and today! Can't wait to get my jog on and try my new mp3 out. The old one didn't hold that many songs and I accidently crunched the screen w/ my precor one night, so I needed a Jina proof one. I can be really clutzy (sp?)!
Got some new running shoes, yesterday. They are awesome, cant wait to test them at lunch. Will be jogging for 1 hr.

Good job w/ the taco salad.
Yes, Myles LOVED his bike! He is such a good boy!!! He and his sister both. Can't wait for their brother this summer. I love babies, just don't want anymore coming out of me. HA!
OK should go, it's a busy Monday around the office!
xoxo

Yep I read that 1 hour statement :-)

I was like WHOA!!! My eyebrows practically met my hairline, lol!! Still, half an hour is awesome!! I can't wait till I can do half an hour. Good job! Let me know how those new shows are, I love my new ones that I got for Xmas, it makes working out more fun when you look good while doing it!

Keeping it really low carb/cals today, not that hungry, after eating heavy yesterday. Good job on not getting too carby yesterday.

Keep it up girlfriend, your running is amazing!! Love ya, Ash

T, where are ya girl? How'd your Super party go? Hope you are well today! Talk to ya soon!

late day check

damn, T is never this late checking in...hope you are ok girlie!!
I had pepperoni slices and coffee (nice combo, eh?!) for breakfast, lunch was literally 3 bites grilled chicken and 2 small sips of lobster bisque soup (cold after running and too lazy to nuke it!) and a coffee now. Dinner is hamburger w/o bun. My 30 minutes was more like 27 minutes and it was hard. I had to break it up w/ a 15 min. break in between cuz I had this charlie horse in my right calf KILLING ME! I saw YBB in my Kohl's ad yesterday Ashley! I thought of you. I thought of buying, it was on sale for $40.
The shoes are AWESOME, so light and comfortable, and usually you need to break them in, they feel like old favorites!!! I don't usually do Nike, but these were CUTE and comfortable so I thought I'd try again. I usually like Asics for exercising, I have a wider foot.
Ok, just babbling now. I am glad you aren't too hungry now....usually it's the opposite after carbs, right?!
Check ya later.

After carbs

Yes, I had hoped that I wouldn't do a blood sugar crash, I think because yesterday was higher fat too, so that kept me feeling full. So yeah! I just had a chicken medi salad for dinner, hit the spot for sure. Sounds like you kept it light today too, great job! And super job on that running!! Nike usually pinch my wide foot too, right now I have Avia wides and they are so comfy. The soles are cantalevered to I don't pronate or supinate, nice for running, also on uneven ground.

YBB, I just saw it today at Target, 40 bucks there too. I was thinking, if you are interested, I could make you that tape of Cameron, and include slim in 6 and YBB workouts. That way you wouldn't have to buy it to try it. Just let me know.

Where are ya T? Hope you are okay!

Have a nice night girls, talk to ya tomarrow! Ash

Morning

Hi! Very snowy here today, at least 3 inches since I got to work, it's messy and depressing. Ready for spring. I think there are 8 wks til NC I cant wait!

Ash, let me know what you need to copy and ship those things. That would be awesome!!!! I will pay you for it. I will PM you my address. Just give me yours too.

Who knows, someday I just might show up! Well, probably not, but wouldn't that be fun??? Do you live near Bend? That is where my friends BF lives. Hear it's nice. He is a realtor and just showed a house to Drew Bledsoe. Multi million $$$ houses there, eh?

Last night was good. Need a fix w/ a DVD I think. SO TIRED of jogging that boring strip in the basement. I like, dread going down there now. Cant wait for spring.
How is jogging going? Will talk around lunch.

Snowy

I like the snow, but it does get to be a bit much when it starts to inhibit "normal" life, lol. 3 inches since you got to work, wow!! So do schools get canceled when you have that much snow? Here, since we don't get very much, whenever we have more than an inch or 2 school is canceled. Here it is so rare it is always fun to trudge around in it, but I imagine you guys must get more than us and there is no fun left in it huh? Does Miss Stela like the stuff? Luke hated it when he was little but Lex could've lived in it I am so ready for it to be spring too!

Bend is so nice, my family used to go there every summer, actually to a burb of bend called SunRiver. It is a great place to go with a bunch of friends and rent one of the HUGE houses with 8 rooms and just spend time partying(many of the rentable houses have hot tubs), in nature on the hikes, bike paths, and on Mt. Bachelor, I love to ski, but haven't gone in years! It is about 3 hours from our house, not too far, closer than my moms house. She is down almost to the California border(4 hours away), in Rogue River. It is another great place to relax, she is on 13 acres, and tons of stuff to do outside. The movie River Wild with Kevin Bacon was filmed on the Rogue River, every year we take the jet boat tour that shows where they filmed.

Great! I'll send you that DVD and wouldn't hear of you paying for it! That will be my project for this week. And you are welcome at my house anytime you feel like showing up!!!

I was looking up totals of calories burned by running, I thought this would help motivate us even more! Jogging in place, 8 cals a minute, slow jogging 7 cals/min, medium paced jog 8-9 cals/min, and running 10-11 cals/min. I am so impressed that you are doing such a rockstar job on your running!! I am trying to keep up, and knowing that I can run for 15 mins now is so cool, and that I can do a quick calorie burn, perfect!!!

Well today was measure day at Curves for the month. After getting my numbers I was so stoked that I really pushed it hard and was sweating like a pig, I felt like a maniac! So, for the month of January, I lost almost 14 pounds, 9 inches, and 2.3% body fat! I thought I wasn't doing so well this month since I didn't lose last week, but now I feel a refreshed motivation. I have only 6 pounds to go to get that Elite shirt!! Marjorie, the owner of Curves, announced to the group about how much I had lost and everybody was clapping, I felt so on the spot, but it felt good ! My ten seconds of fame I weighed in at 181 with my cloths on, so that gives me big hopes for this week that I can get at least my 3 pounds.

Still no check in from T?? hmm, maybe she is really sick? Or maybe she decided to drop out? Whereever you are T I hope you are doing well!

Okay Jina, have a good one! Running at lunch? Work it girl! You are Awesome!! Your BFF, Ash

TUESday

Drop out?..never! Hello girls..It's nice to see you were concerned but I want to say I'm very sorry for not checking in. Please accept my apology..no excuses..was just having fun playing yesterday. Jeannie spent the night of super bowl (party was a success thank you) so we went for a walk at the park, then shopping, then drank some lite beers by the pool. It was 84 yesterday so how could we resist..and those leftover cold beers in the fridge? Anyway, I wasn't too bad on sb sunday..you guys woulda been proud..I mostly ate veggies and bleu cheese dressing so no big cheats for me other than some lite beer. Yesterday we went to bfast and we both ate healthy..eggwhite omelettes. Again I won't be skipping out like that..so I'm sorry.

I totally feel you on the weather Jina..especially you being a cali girl it must get to you. Ash..you are always working out! I'm going to get a gallon of water out and drink it all today. I feel my pants looser..my bra is getting loose so that must be something!

Thank you girls for thinking about me and I can't wait to hear how your day is going?

T!

Just when I start to wonder if you are coming back you pop up. I had a feeling you'd do that! You have been doing too good w/ that damn bike to skip out now! POOLSIDE????? I am sheding a tear here, thanks! I miss California so very much. Naturally everyone here is always like, "why are you HERE???"
Clothes looser? AWESOME! That bike is working, did you ever measure? Glad the superbowl was ok- I had a lot of hotwings, but not breaded so I figured that was ok...other than that raspberry fluff....it was worth it, and NO alcohol, so that is key. I gain too much when I drink!

SO! Ashley!!! CURVES PRINCESS!! HOW AWESOME! I bet you were embarrassed when they annouced you, but OWN that, girl! You are so motivating to us I can't imagine what you do for them.
Do you white water raft? I always wanted to go, and it's on my list of MUST DO BEFORE I DIE things. (no need to scream that, I dont know why I did!)
It's now more like 5 inches and it's cold. You know with wind chill it was -40's here this week????? CAN YOU SAY --YUCK--!!! Stela hasn't been in it yet. Too little, but I cant wait. I am all about it for the holidays, then over it in Jan. we did get lucky w/ warm weather this fall/early winter so we take it. I am ready for a vacation. Hey Ash, sounds like T's is the place to crash...boat, pool, that big TV and beer in the frig.
Wouldn't that be nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK tootsies, I gotta go-we are closing the office due to weather. (it's not really that bad, but we are using it as an excuse!) Everyone drives stupidly even though we are all used to it. I mean, if you don't have 4WD by now, it's your fault you end up in a ditch. Midwest is very unpredictable. Still, I love to see the seasons change.
Off I go.

hey

You're too sweet Jina..and everytime I look at your pic and see your smile..it makes me smile I'm glad to be back and more motivated than ever. My birthday is March 6 so I have exactly 28 days? to lose 10 more lbs so I want to meet that goal. Again I couldn't do this without you girls.

XOXO!

night

well another day has come and gone. Snow has finally stopped though the crazy drivers have not. Very annoying. T-YOU are sweet! BDAY coming? I love bdays! You'll be 41 right? You can SO do 10 pounds! I am hoping to drop 30 before NC, hope I make it. Tomorrow is 2 mo. exactly. Bought some Advantage shakes at Target tonight, I can't wait to try them, I do so miss cold milk- for some reason. It will be nice to shake it up w/ a shake!
OK-
tons of good walking in today, not jogging. That knee thing is killing me. I miss you two, where are you tonight?

Talk soon my sweets!
What are you both planning for V day? We usually do something special. This year we have our little sweetie so we might just do dinner. I always get a really special delivery to work, a really beautiful bouquet. Instead of that money this year (cuz we know it's insane $$) I would like to invest in exercise something...new gear/gadgets or something else. Better than flowers and CANDY, dont cha think girlies?? Ashley I can smell the fresh pastries from E already. We have to eat there someday together-with all the delicious things you say they have.
The three of us at the cheesecake factory...in HAWAII! How rad would that be?? Coconut bra's and grass skirts, fruity drinks w/ little umbrellas....sigh....that would be awesome. In my dreams, right?!?!!!
Off I go.
(((HUGS))) gg
