I think we are all in the same boat with our spouses. My loving husband does the same thing Ash..we go to Costco and he wants to buy some big box/bag of something that is super fattening and I look at him like..don't you know what I'm going through to get this weight off? Not to mention..he should be caring about his health too. Jina..don't let that 66 days thing get stuck in your head..we are alike in this way..just do one day at a time and you'll do just fine. If you start thinking about the crunch..you'll sabotage..be careful. You can do this..me and Ash are here cheering you on!

Some good news..my sister postponed her wedding (because of another fam wedd) till JULY That just gives me more time..but I still have the bachelorette party in Vegas at the end of April so I still have my April goal of losing as much as possible.

It's that TOM for me too Ash...I hear ya on the mood thing..I get sad and remind myself it's not me..it's those damn hormones! they bugg!

T.

Thanx girls

I can always count on you girls to keep me on track!! After having a great long walk at the park with E, only having a cup of Hot n Sour at chinese for lunch, eventhough there were tons of other options, I feel so much better. And reading you posts, just reaffirms how great we are and will become! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I know it is TOM that is playing with my emotions and that everything will be A-okay!

Jina, sounds like you had a BUSY day! Kids swallowing junk and a pass out all in one day!! So what else did the kid eat?? LOL, funny, but not too funny! I am going to try those Crest Whitestrips, they are the ones that I have been most considering. Thanx! Awesome job on the water today!! And the running! I too pushed lots of water, I have been in the loo every ten it seems!! I hope I get a big woosh this week! So J, is Kate thinking about tummy tuck now with all the weight gone? I have always thought that when I lose the weight there would be no way that all this skin could look okay with out a tuck. Is there hope? LOL!! Your "come to Jesus" moment is exactly what you needed to push you over the edge of doing this and doing this hardcore! That was were I was when I found that picture, so I am so happy, cause the motivation is, I swear, 90% of it. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crunch time for us all!!!!

Jina, try this recipe, Fine ground coffee 2-3T, Ancho chili powder (fresh ground) 1T, Brown sugar 1T(I know it is sugar, but it is for the whole steak, so you only get a tiny amount), mix together and dry rub it on all over a large/thick London Broil, spritz with olive oil, and broil for a couple of minutes each sie to desired doneness. Sounds strange, but it is good, I made it tonight, yum!

okay, pee break, have a good night!! Check back later! Ash

Thanx again for all the support!!!

Hi girls!

SO! Today/night was fantastic. I even stopped all eats after 6pm. Remember, that is my hardest time! I didn't even have night coffee or tea, just another big ass glass of h2o. That puts me over 100oz. I once read you should drink 1oz per every pound of weight you are. That is a lot of freakin water. I pee enough as it is...can you imagine? Still, 1 gallon is my goal it's so good for you-and skin/hair, things the lower carb diet kinda hinders I think.

Dinner was this delicious parmesan crusted pork loin w/ mushrooms and a cream sauce at a restaurant, Machine Shed (it's local). Then Old Navy. I got a few shirts for work (to wear w/ scrub pants) so I am happy with that.

Kate went shopping today and guess who fits into a medium at EXPRESS?? Yah, that would be her. Do you know I don't ever even GO INTO that store? It's one that the girls look at you and think--we have nothing for you! (Pretty Woman style!)!! I am happy for her she looks fabulous!

As for me and my lame ass...I need to get 20 pounds off by end of Feb. It's a must! The weekends kill me and it seems I spend the week playing catch up. Well, no more.
Ash- her skin is practically back to the way it was before the belly stretched out. She couldn't even get a tummy tuck, there isn't enough to justify it...thats what being an athlete before gaining weight will do I guess. She was a soccer player.
I am going to upload some pics now.....nothing too exciting- but wanted you to see her hair.
night girlies!

Morning, or actually it's afternoon!

T- meant to ask, are you in your sister's wedding? Is this the sister we saw pic's of? July will be here before we know it! Good work w/ no dinner, I bet that will really help you this Friday!

We jogged 20 minutes today and it was super hard. I was envisioning the Bix route I plan to jog this late July. It's that 7 mile course I told you about....you could probably google it if interested in checking it out. It's a killer. Arms hurt today, in a very good way.
abs and some more jogging tonight. I need to get these arms in shape!!!
B: 1 hb egg, coffee 2 small, L: salad w/ chicken, avecado, bacon, roasted red pepper and grilled calamari. D: meat kabob or Cowgirl griller, not sure which Kate will pick up.
Ash-I will try that marinade, sounds delic!

Talk soon girls.
Water water water!!

DVD's

Ash,
under the exercise category of this site there is a post about Slim in 6 and how people feel about it. Seems mixed......most say it's boring. Are you ramping it up yet or stage 1?

Have you heard of Turbo Jam? Did you say you have done the firm? I know my Friend Rachel does that, has good results....just in the market for something different.

I like dancy, upbeat ones...seems turbo jam is just that! Might check it out.
Also was interested in belly dancing (DVD), hear that is a workout. AND- my friend Lindy did the Carmen Elektra (SP?) Strip tease - said it was kinda hard, but that is a double bonus, one for you and one for your spouse..haha!
Let me know your thoughts.

mid day check-in

Already got 6 glasses of water in. I made myself eat my lunch..not hungry. Anyway, to answer your question J..no, I am not going to be in the wedding. She wanted me to but I refuse to wear a sleeveless dress..that is just me. So Jeannie will be maid of honor and yes..Margie..is the one in the pic w/J. I figure the second best thing I can do for my sister is show up looking better than ever..so this is my goal.

Jina..I like turbo jam too..been thinking about getting it (just lower the volume and put on my techno ) and I'll be ready to burn. The firm is good too..but I think boring. I think all plans work if you do them correctly.

Exercise DVDs, I haven't done turbo jam but have heard it is good. I too like dancy (took dance and gymnastics for years and years) that is why I love the Yoga Booty set, it comes with a hip hop abs and Caberet/Burlesque (sp???) routine, they are both very dancy, and fun, the later being a sexy moves kind of dance. Slim in 6, it is a basic, tone you up, fast paced, work ALL your big muscle groups. E did the ramp it up last night, I did YBB burlesque and a stability ball abs routine. He said ramp it up is all stage 1 stuff plus resistence band work, he loved it, and he sweats so much you could ring out his shirt. I amgoing to do it tonight with him. I went to Curves this morning and I hope I can get a run in before too late today. Sunny again!! :-)

Sounds like everybody is doing great today! Food, water, and all!! I am on cup 6 of water already! Yesterday I drank about 100oz too!! OMG, imagine if we were drinking an oz for every pound, we would never leave the bathroom,LOLOLOL!!!

So far today:
snack before Curves: LC yogurt, tea
breakfast: Chicken Adobo, crock pot style
lunch: Chicken wrap with cucumber and cheese

I love ya girls!! Keep it up, we are soooooo cool!!! :-) Ash

Good Morning!!!

Another Beautiful day here, cold (38*), but blue sky and lots of sun. Hope it warms up soon though.

T, too bad you got the greys, the weather must have forgot where to go and went south, this time of year we usually have all rain and grey, I have been really happy with the change of pace this year. Sounds like it will be nice come the weekend, I could go for 80* right about now. What ya got planned for the big game? Usually we do pizza and all that, not sure what we will have this year. It is about the only Sunday E gets off all year, except for vacation. Last year they closed La Prov at 2 cause it was so slow, I am sure they will do the same this year. Anyhow, I am not a huge football fan, but I always look forward to Superbowl Sunday, something so "apple pie" about it. T, wow, good job on calories out! I wish I could get my morning workout to add up to that many cals! Keep it coming!! Double thumbs up!! :-)

Jina, I made your chocolate cake last night for Maya as an early Vday surprise, of course I had to taste it, it was very good girl! Thanx for the recipe!! Everybody else loved it too! Hey, I forgot to ask, how are your sinuses? Better I hope!

Well, I just got back from Curves and now it is breakfast time. I'll be back later, hugs, Ash

Super Bowl 41

You're doing great Ash..you are my workout idol. That's why you've lost so much weight..you inspire me to workout more. Your weight loss proves it!

I am a football fan..watch it with hubby who is a huge fan so he is lucky to have a wife who likes baseball AND football. So I look forward to super bowl sunday and especially this year because I wanted the colts to go (peyton manning) fan. We don't do pizza..we usually do sliced meats/cheeses/fruits/veggies w/ranch dip..that kinda thing. I will especially make the effort to have healthy choices for me. The only cheats I'm having is lite beer n onion dip YUM! I am working hard this week..just for that one I went to party city (do you guys have that store?) and got all the stuff..so I am ready!

I agree with you Ash..the motivation that comes from you...and Jina is what keeps me going. Otherwise, I'm sure I'd slip and sabotage myself here and there. Thanks for everything girls..I appreciate you BOTH.

XO, T.

sorry I am late today!

Work was crazytown and I was go go go all day til now, which I have a few minutes to type and then bathe Stela and exercise. I want to feel the pain of jogging, am I a freak or what?

Today I wore my tighter pants that now fit (ones I told you about) to work (wed. and Fri.= casual days!) and I got 3 unprompted compliments!!!!!! One patient said, "Jina you have lost A LOT of weight!!!! You look Great!" I was beaming all day. I do think scrubs are very misleading so that is why I looked different, but still-I needed that.

I must tell you gurls---for the past 3 days I have felt fabulous (except for sinuses--thanks for askin Ash!) eating very low carb but still allowing for cheese (occ.) on salads & veges. That seems to work for me.

This is the 3rd night in a row I am done eating by 6pm and not going to eat another bite. It just feels so good and helps me sleep better too! We have shopped the last couple nights and last night at dinner (gma's bday) at my Fav. mexican rest. I ordered chicken tacos, removed all the shell ate the chicken/lettuce/cheese and salsa and had 2 huge ass glasses of H2o! I was sloshing all over yesterday-which def. helps w/ appetite.
I was proud. Not a single chip they give before the meal. Not a bite of the delic. looking churros w/ chocolate sauce they gave my gma. NADA! HORRAY! It was hard, but I felt amazing afterwards.
I have a lot of energy the last couple days. Think it's from sleeping well. I dig it! Cant wait to see the scale - even so, I know things are changing....trying not to get too hung up on the #!
Super bowl = super boring for me. We are going to a party (HOW WILL I GET THROUGH THAT FOOD?!?!??!?) but wont stay that long, I don't like it.
I think the key to keeping me away from food is shopping, how dangerous is that?
Got the cutest pillows from TJ Maxx today, silk/tafeda green and khaki striped (match my curtains). Still nothing for myself-but I am thinking of getting this arm thing for runners, it tells your time/distance/pace/stop watch/ records previous times/calories etc.
I feel guilty spending that kind of money-but I think it will be hella handy! We'll see.
Okey dokey. Hey, I am glad you made that cake. I love it. I love Valentines Day too.
I have some exciting news about my job. I, a. got a good raise! b. am starting my own scrub top making business w/ Rebecca. Will give the details later. SO excited! Have thought about it for years, and now that Dr. is retiring in a year, I am socking my raise money away, getting a business plan in action and launching Jan 2008. I have never felt so right about anything in my life!
Have a fantastic night. I love ya curves queen and T, AKA: Lance Armstrong!

Hello Ladies!!!

Good morning yall!! So much new stuff!!

JINA!!!! OMG, 28 minutes!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!!! How do you do it??? That is soooooooooo great!!!!!! Yesterday I ran for 10 then did 1 min intervoles for another 10 minutes, that worked well for me. I totally feel you on the feeling like you can do more/go longer thing. When I start to run, at about the 5 minute mark I feel like wow this is hard, but then around 12 minutes, I can feel adrenelin kick in and feel like I could go a lot longer. It is an amazing feeling, something I had never felt before.

Okay, next, YEAH!!!!!!! about the raise!!!! I am so happy for you! I knew all that hard work would pay off! And, I think that is great that you are going to start a scrub making business, what a great idea, and you are giving yourself plenty of time, so cool!!! Can't wait to hear more!

T, excellent on getting that bike time in this morning! And don't sweat it about the pound, it isn't from the muffin, just a fluctuation. Mom is at work today, so I have a day off, going to use for some good early at home exercise.

Well, yesterday I did so well until a last minute bday party we were invited to, they made great roast pork, okay good, and we left without invitations to cake, I thought I was safe, then as we were getting in the car, they sent a huge slice of 7 layer Rose's carrot cake(about the only kind of cake I adore.) So I threw caution to the wind and had some with E. I now have no hopes of losing this week, but that's okay, I feel like I finally had a great treat, and can continue. It feels like I have said that a lot this week, hmmm, oh well. I am still in it for the long haul. I expect you girls to get on my case though, LOL.

Plans for today, really LC today, cardio or hike, running, and Slim in 6 tonight!

B: Soy milk, LC yogurt
Snack: Turkey Pepperoni
L: Chicken n cheese
Snack: Almonds
Dinner: Chicken and lettuce greens
Lots of water, yesterday I drank about 120 oz water. I got those crystal light singles (store brand) and I found that one of those is enough to flavor an entire 32oz bottle of water, so that made getting my water in much more fun!

Okay girls, have a great day!! Ash Wahoo, I am post #500, can you believe it girls!!! We have been goin' strong for a long time now!! Yeah!

OMG

Day 4 of my amazing transformation. I don't know what is going on but GIRLS-I am a maniac!!! I just jogged for 30 MINUTES! Ash, I agree (and thanks girls. I knew you'd be proud!) the first 10 are so hard, my knees adjusting, back adjusting...but once I am in a groove, I am so there... lose a bit of steam after 20 minutes-then if I push myself (like today, we didn't intend on 30!) I get a second wind the last 5-7 minutes. AMAZING GRACE! I can't believe it, I hear and agree 100% with this rush I have never gotten before.
I can't stand it!
Today already, 2 patients and a drup rep (super hot guy-btw!) made comments to me. The rep said it was my hair that looked good, (but -come on-my hair is 1 mo. over do for a do, OK!) but I think it's this sexy fitted shirt, I am pimping that is doing it. LOL, who, knows?!
One patient said I looked "radiant and beautiful"....COME ON! Maybe my confidence is coming through?!
SO! Yesterday I had an egg, chicken stuffed w/ cheese and bacon and fresh green beans, and dinner was a omlette (sp?) w/ cheese and ham and coffee. That was it.
Today, no breakfast (so not hungry!) and a spicy chicken salad from Chili's. Dinner, oh, prob. tuna.
SO! That is that. Another thing- I am NOT going to weigh tomorrow. I don't know what it will say, and I am curious as HELL but if it isn't good enough (what is that anyway?!) I will be turned off and I don't want to lose this momentum. I will weigh and post when I measure on the 15th of this month.
OK, that out of the way....
T- that damn scale, see! I hate it! You have been rockin the bike, and NO dinner---you are KIDDING ME?? I say, TOM---otherwise, I guess don't underestimate the muffins and latte? Humm...I can't imagine what else it is.
Ash-that carrot cake? (BE STILL MY HEART- MY MOST FAVORITE IS CARROT!) listen friend,
You have to make consessions for that stuff. This journey is going to be boring and way too hard if you dont do something for yourself every now and then. You are a workout champ, you work so hard at inputting that stuff everyday into fitday--and I have done that, I know the time it takes! AND-you tend to your family and home...everyday, gracefully.
Enjoy every crumb of that damn cake, and THAT IS AN ORDER!
You inspire me and T so much, w/o you, we have both said- we would have left, jumped ship, given up.....
that in itself is enough to be proud of. You look fantastic. YOU ARE FANTASTIC!
Ok, off I go to do some arm weights.
I really do love you two girls. You are real friends to me.....
