***Gentle Mommies Aug 21-27***

Morning Mummies

Cassidy thanks everyone for the happy birthday wishes.

Here's a few pictures. I used to babysit the other two kids. The girl since she was 3 months. She's the sweetest little girl. She LOVED Cassidy. They had a blast and I had a good time talking to their Mom. She was really good friends with my Mom because we used to be neighbours.

Tomorrow is her "real party" uh huh...at my Dad's house. So, more pictures then!

Ames~Newborns can melt my heart in seconds and if I hadn't been around my friend's brand new baby I would have been fine!

Nicole~I was ok. I kept really really busy. It just doesn't feel like a year, kwim?

Mary~Aww..thanks for the "birthin' day" wishes!~

Collin, Luna and Amy~Thanks again!

Hi ladies. I'm trying real hard not to do anything constructive tonight. Although, I really need to start cleaning this house, as we have company coming next weekend. Maybe if I put it off it will force my sweetie to do it, LOL!

Well, the strike started yesterday at work. It has been pretty non-eventful so far and the airline seems to be doing ok without the strikers. I have mixed emotions about the whole thing. On the one hand I can see how they want to blame cooperate greed on the whole matter, but on the other hand they are just as greedy and want to take the whole company down with them. I'll be suprised if we can avoid bankruptcy with all this crap going on and the fuel prices soaring higher and higher. The whole thing sucks!

Can you believe that Grant's teeth have STILL not broken through. We are working on two weeks of him being Mr Crabby Pants. The gums are very bumpy and white, and there is even a callouse one side. I just wish they would hurry up and break thru already....it is making us ALL miserable!

Boy, reading my post you'd think I'm having a bad week. Ok, maybe I am....add in a cold for good measure. Who gets a cold during the summer anyway? Ok, I'm done venting for today, LOL!

Flickr is being a beast and my img tags aren't working for some reason so here's the link to the rest of the album:

pictures

Ames~ Are you not working then? As for teeth...Cassidy just barely has 3. Two on the bottom and just a sliver of one on the top and then just a "nub" of the second one sticking out. It takes a long time for them to break through sometimes. Get him a slightly frozen washcloth to chew on.

Yep, I'm off tonight and tomorrow. We've been doing the washcloth thing...but that doesn't help the crabbiness. It sounds like we got the honor to be parents of a kid that is really bothered by the teeth coming in. Everybody else we've talked to have said that either they hardely noticed, or it was only a few days to a week that it was rough.

If Flickr is right then we have the same camera ~smiles~ I really like that site... I can link to them here though... I can't find a way to link to one set only without it still showing mt FSOT set on the bottom.

Naaaa, your not alone, both my girls ran 101* fevers when they cut teeth! When Jesse got her molars she ran 103* and they had PMP (punish my parents) the whole time.

Sorry about the strike.
Happy House Cleaning

Very cute pictures Pauline Looks like Cassidy had fun!

I got another 6 diapers in the mail on Friday and I have 2 dozen DSQ pre-folds on the way... I think I can stop for now.... I found a site that said to start out you needed:

24 diapers
6 covers
2 water-proof covers
3 inserts
1 pail to hold them till wash day.

What is the difference between Covers and Water-Proof covers. I have those Velcro things that have the plastic bottoms but feel like fabric on the outside, will that work???

Warm Hello's going out to everyone!!

Ohhh and my last bit of info, we go in on TUESDAY for the ultrasound.... I was a day off... I am getting excited to see if we can find-out if we are having a boy or a girl...

Hi all,

Just a quick howdy to everybody! Loved the pictures of Cass at her party. Such a little cherub!

Bethany has five teeth. Her top side teeth came in so she looked like she had fangs, but now a middle tooth is coming in, so no more vampire baby.

We are going to be in Denver the second week of September. Most likely the 10th or 13th through the 20th. I am so excited about this holiday! I'll book the tickets tomorrow once DH finds out about his vacation time. Has anybody here bought seats for their kids on airplanes, or do they just keep them in their laps? I had Bethany in my lap when I went to San Fransisco, but I'm seriously considering getting her her own seat this time. We are flying out of Seattle and got this amazing seat sale... only $200 round trip. It is great, given it would cost us $650 to fly from Victoria. Even adding in $100 for the ferry and another $100 for parking, we are saving about $700 total!! I think we should be able to afford a seat for Bethany!

Guess what?! One of the bottom teeth finally came thru! The other bottom one is not far away. The bud is so swollen it's got to bust thru pretty soon! Now I get to start being cautious with the breast feeding. At least Grant has been in a better mood the last 24 hours.

~waves~ Hi everyone!

Well, today is going to be a sad day... I have to try and sell my wedding dress, veil, and headpiece ~cries~ I checked my credit union account today and I'm overdrawn by $150!!! Ouch! I'm pissed too... it's overdrawn because a bill was put through automatically even though there was no money in the account. I didn't want to pay that bill right now because we didn't have the money for it for a few weeks but they did anyway! So I have to find some way to cover it and that means bye-bye wedding stuff... sad sad day.

Oh, and today is the day that my mom asks the apartment office to let her off the lease... I'm not worried since legally they can't, but I'm pissed that she'd do that to us... she knows we can't pay the rent on this apartment by ourselves... she doesn't seem to care though... said that even if we couldn't get out she sure was going to try.

Hmm, now I don't want be only negative today, so let me think of something positive to say..............

Nope, nothing positive right now... I'll try again later. I'm off to ebay now.

Amy~Sorry about the selling the dress and things but I've always seen stuff like that as just things. You have the truly important things in your memory.

Ames~Whohoo on the tooth!

Mary~I want a full report after your ultrasound tomorrow.

I'm trying to see the dress as just a thing too, but it's hard... actually, it's the necklace I'm having the hardest time with... I made it myself and I'm very pleased with it... but there's no need to hold on to it and we certainly can use the $$$... the headpiece is easy... I had two and I'm selling the one I didn't use... the one I did wear though i'm keeping... I really want to pass it along to either Ayla or Kayden... the veil, well... god I love that veil! It was EXACTLY what I wanted, but I'll never wear it again, so, off it goes... it's all just stuff, but I'm a sentimental pack rat ~laughs~ the dress isn't in the best shape though (stupid seamstress, I could smack her!), but I'm hoping to get at least $75 for it... it's so beautiful... detachable train and everything! Ahhhhh... not to mention the wedding day itself was HORRIBLE... memories I'd truly like to forget... at least I got a few decent pictures from it though.

Well, we went swimming and that made Kayden pretty durn happy... she loves when we go swimming... granted all she does is get carried right now, but she still loves it... right now my mom has her because everytime she starts going to sleep I cough or sneeze and wake her back up ~laughs~

Tonight Richard is working until 11:30, same tomorrow... he almost always works 2 nights a week now... yuck! Although I do like having him here during the day, but I prefer having him here at night... it's alright though, this week he has 3 days off, IN A ROW!!! I love love love that! Too bad we're too broke to do anything ~laughs~ we have 2 free passes to the movies though, hmmmm... maybe I'll ask my mom to watch kayden for a couple hours one day and we can get to the movies... that'd be fabulous!

Ames, that's great about the tooth breaking through... Ayla had a HORRIBLE time teething... she didn't start teething until she was 10 months old either... god, I don't look forward to that with Kayden!

Mary, I can't wait to hear about the u/s... I love u/s... are you going to get a 3D u/s?

Woohoo I am in Denver (wait I've said that already! )

You have to keep them on your lap unless you book a seat. You may get lucky and be in an half empty plane though I would not count on it! Their own seat is ALWAYS better...........so it all depends on budget!

Can you get ahold of one of the free law help lines or a renters advocate group and see if there is anything else you can do about getting out? Can you find out what the worse is that would happen if you just up and left?

Sounds like your mom will not be helping you afterall!

It was actually a free legal help place that told us there was no way to get out unless one of us was active in the military... the worst that would happen if we broke the lease and just left is they would techinally evict us and then come after us for the buy out amount ($2500)... we'd have an eviction and all that on our credit and it'd be nearly impossible to find another place to live. We're not THAT concerned about our credit but only because it's really bad already... we both were stupid when we were younger and it's still biting us now... we've been trying to fix it, but it's a slow process... this wouldn't help things either.

Whoo hooo! Some of my beads sold for $20! Yippee! Granted, they cost a LOT more than that to buy initially (Swarovski and quartz), but that's okay... you never get back the full amount when you resell something.

So, how is everyone today? So far, today has been good for me... Kayden slept really well last night... she's put herself on a schedule... everynight she falls asleep around 8-9... sleeps until about 1am, gets fed and changed, falls back asleep until around 5-6, gets fed and changed, falls asleep until about 8-9, then up for the day... during the day she tends to nap (yes, she's napping again!) around noonish, and again around 2:30... her 2:30 nap is usually pretty short (15-20 minutes), but still, it's nice ~smiles~ With Ayla I tried to force a schedule and it backfired BAD... now Kayden made her own... how cute!
