Morning Vic,
We missed out on the concert last night and boy was it hot!! Can you believe it? They actually offered caesar salad at the fair!! I had some w/o crutons...I was so proud of myself. I came home and had 2 sf jello cups, a handful of macadamias,and went to bed. Still tired today but at least it's a friday before a nice 3 day weekend!

Hi All.

Sorry to have been AWOL for a few days. I've been lurking - just did not post.

Doing well with the eating, not so well with the excerise. The only formal excerise I got so far was 2.17 mi, in 45.17 mins walk/slow jog on the treadmill on Monday.

I had worn a pair of sneakers to work, hadn't worn them in a while, for some reason they hurt my left heel. Didn't cause a blister, it was more like the heel was bruised. I had to wear an open backed sneaker (which I only wear to run the dog in/out for a quick potty break) did not put my orthotics in them and in just two days time, my ankles, knees and hips are very sore, but the heel is better.

Also, I was very tired this week, could be the heat, even though we have ac. I work 3rd shift and try to do my errands after work in the am, while it's still cool. I had to go out in the afternoon to go to a few places that aren't open at 7am and the heat really bothered me.

Will try to post more often. Wishing all queens a safe and happy Independence Day.

Hello Queens. I am back home for a minute and I had to drop in and see how you all were doing. Glad to see all the new faces. Welcome to the boards you will love it here.

Well Queens let me just tell you my vacation is going great. Went to Hershey, Pa, then we were off the Baltimore, then headed to Atlanta. Can I tell you Atlanta was so much fun I didnt want to leave. The only thing that got me out of there was the fact I had a wedding to go to in Dayton, Oh. So now I'm home for a couple of hours then off to Detroit, Mi. This vacation is wearing me out though. I havent worked out and I've eaten like crap. I've learned a valuable lesson though. Your body will reject bad eating sooner or later. Honestly I dont know how I did it so long, eating crap I mean. I am so tired, my body feels like garbage and my stomach has been so upset it crazy. I also noticed the more crap I ate the worse the weather affected me, like headaches and I was sweating more from the heat. I return home for good on Tuesday so it is back to the proper way of eating and working out let me tell you.

Like I said a learning experience and a wake up call. I also decided i'm not getting my butt on the scale until probably the end of the summer. I'm too crazy to get on it now. Plus I'm too scared to find out the damage that i've done over this vacation. I'll be back on track though, you all know me.

I've learned some stuff about myself on this trip though and I thought it would help some of you out. I've learned that watching others eat until they cant move makes me sick. Then it reminds me of what I use to do. with all the bad crap i've eaten i have not overdone it which is a positive for me.

the other thing i learned about myself is simply i have so many great qualities on the inside i sometimes forget to take care of my outside. i was looking at my stomach thinking if i do the exercises i'm suppose to do that can be gone. if i broke a nail or had a bad hair day i would be in the shop in an instant. why am i not doing the same thing about my body. because it's hard and i get lazy that's why, but enough of that.

last thing i learned is every mistake can be corrected. it's simply a learning experience. i've learned to make wise food choices i just choose to ignore them. therfor choosing to be fat. we are not fat because of anything but the choices we make. Hey vic remember when you asked what I needed to motivate me. I found it. I found this male drag queen in atl that looked better than any woman i have ever seen. when i asked how he got a body that great, he well she said she worked at it everyday. she had to to appear to be a woman. now why are we as women not using the same mentality. it's bad when a man can look better than us. He/She looked great, i have pics if anyone wants to see.

Ok well I just had to drop by to let you all know I wasnt dead just still on vacation. I'm going back on my "A" game. I think we need to have some weight challenges this month.

Challenge: I challenge everyone to lose at least 5lbs. I am going to do it, probably will be weight i've gained, LOL.

Claritta- did you lose anything last week?

Wigglebutt--I've been low carbing off and on for a couple of years. I realized early on that I feel sooooo much better when I stick with this WOE. Problem is I do well for a while then I fall totally off the wagon and gain everything back. My stats are 213/213/135. This time around is the longest that I have ever been over 200 and I can feel every pound of it. I'm 5'3" and 47 years old, combine that with 213 pounds and ...well that's how you spell out-of-breath and u-n-c-o-m-f-o-r-t-a-b-l-e. I'm at an age when many women in my family developed health problems and I want to avoid that. I feel really young and energetic on the inside. I have got to get the outside to line up with the picture.

GOOD MORNING QUEENS

Just checking in. I've been on plan, exercising and drinking my water.

Another holiday is upon us. Which can be a stressful day for alot of us. The best thing that can be done is to make a conscious effort to watch our food choices, and if you must eat something that you know you shouldn't...then limit the amount that you eat. There should never be a day whereas you just pig out completely. Just remember Queens...YOU DO HAVE CHOICES.

Deb congrats on the 2 lbs. You go girl. I'm sure there were alot of people who were secretly jealous of you. Don't you just love it? Don't forget to change your stats.

Becky it's good that you're still on plan. Any exercise is better than none. I'm glad that you decided to stop lurking and to post. You should post no matter how you feel even if it's just to say you're checking in and being accountable. Nothing else needs to be said. Coming here just like anything you try to do that's good for you, has to become a habit in order to sink in. So I'll look forward to hearing from you more often, ok?

Diane how are things going with you? Don't forget to post your stats if you haven't already.

Machon I'm glad you're having fun on your vacation. I'm thinking that it's time for you to do some more "soul searching." there must be something going on with you that tell you to fall off and it's ok. Are you punishing yourself for something? By punishing yourself, I mean, you know if you eat crap, you'll feel like crap. You know the drill by now.

I'm glad that you've admitted you have a problem, but now you have to get down to the nitty gritty and find out what it really is, why you fall off, and what do you need to do to keep it from happening again. I think and this is just my opinion, that your main motivation must come from YOU. I am by no means an expert on weightloss or really what you may be experiencing, but I'm on the outside looking in and can see things were you may not because you're too close to it. I believe you have all the motivation you need, deep within you. All the external motivation is good, but you need both. I know you can do this. But please don't come back and be an exercise maniac. (you know you will) Because the exercise has never been the problem. (My problem, but not your's) I've read and from being in therapy, that there's psychological reasons why a person is significantly overweight. Maybe not in all cases, but the majority. For me, once I addressed mine, things became easier, or should I say that I understood why I do/did the things I do.

So have a safe trip home and have great 4th.

Well I'm going now. I have some family coming over. I'm going to my mom's on the 4th. I need to prepare some things to take over there.

Good Morning Queens

Things are going good in my neck of the woods. I am still maintaining and trying to figure out what my current goals are. For so long my mindset has been to lose weight and now I have to reprogram my mind that my goal is to maintain. Everyone says it is hard to lose weight, heck I think it is even harder to maintain what you lost by eating more and not gaining. So here I am, attempting to maintain the behavior changes that made it all happen.

Deb...Congrats on that 2 pounds. Way to go! It's nice to be back in your own element and in charge of your own food. I know how difficult it was for you to be out of routine when you where in Ohio.

Machon...Glad you are enjoying your vacation. You needed it and deserved it. Hey, you might have been eating crap but it was all your choice and now you have to deal with the consequences. Those ewww feelings might just be the kick in the butt you need to help you focus. Remember when I went on vacation in April and I gain those 10lbs from splurging. It's okay, just as long as you hop right back on and focus. Remember how I told you I was craving salad and good food. (See now your body wants you to treat it better)Sometimes it takes food making you feel like crap, and being bloated and everything else to push you over and say hey, I can't do that anymore and when I do, I have to find a way to work those indulgence into my eating but not on a everyday basis.

Becky...How are you doing on the exercise front. Do you like to exercise or just hate it

morning Queens,
yesterday I splurged on a skinnycow lowcarb ice cream...it was yummy...but only 4 carbs. I think I managed to stay within my 20 I am planning on going to see a movie this afternoon with a friend of mine, and then later working out or swimming, one of the two. Possibly I'll end up out at the waterfront with my rollerblades...I want to try them out Festivities tomorrow are at my friend's house....they've already requested that I bring deviled eggs (hehehe) so i'll have my usual bbq chicken, hold the bbq....and i might bring a big salad too....

As of two weeks ago I weighed in at 300.75 pounds. I just got my info from the Doctor that my diabetes A1c is going down but not enough to say I am in control. I've been trying WW without much success but I know Lowcarbing works.
I hope to get to know you all soon. Have a fun 4th of July

[/size]Vicki: Im still eating well, supposed to go to a party on the 3rd had a big mix up, the host didn't respond to any phone calls ??? Don't know what happened there. Was going to make pasta (dreamfields) salad for me, baked beans for DH. didn't get to make the salads, made the BB - didn't have any (brown SUGAR and maple SYRUP) DH says they are very good. Will have king crab legs and burgers for the 4th at home unless the party is on th 4th (dh can get confused), They were Lay's but I only ate ONE potato chip -- quickly ate some pork rinds and sour cream -- YEAH. On the excreise front it is only walks w/ dear dalmatian Drake. Next week will be better.

[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1]bre: good question about excerise -- before I was ill (again) with the mono and 5th's disease and after having the angiogram, I LOVED to excerise, I always felt that it gave me alot of energy. Now I feel like it's torture. In fact, my dr said to tone it down in the excerise dept, when I was dx w/ the hi BP. He really scared me, he kept asking how I felt, when I told him that I felt fine and told him about the hi intensity workouts w/ the trainer, his eyes got really big and wide -- scared the crap outta me, he said to just back off on the intensity. After last visit in June, he said to start lifting again. -- yeah right i've gotten lazy. And still need to have an arterial doppler ultrasound on the 5th (due to still having pain since 2/9/05).

Marvelous Monday Question

OK Queens, I know that I am a new queen newbie but here goes, this ? has been floating in my mind for a few days.

Do you feel guilty? About not eating right, execrising enough, spending enough time w/ family, friends, yourself, your God, on your chores around the house, whatever.

I try to follow Flylady (www.flylady.net) Marla says that "you are never behind, just jump in where you are".

Yet I feel that there are just not enough hours in the day. (ok I work nights, I might just be tired).

Sorry if I got the jump in on anyone else's question, it's just that I can't sleep, it's my normal time to be awake.

Hello Ladies

I see that it is all quiet here, must be getting yourselves all motivated for today

We had a big shing ding last night with bbq and a whole bunch of good firworks here in our back yard with a lot of family and I am really surprised that it turned out like it did...not even the kids argued.....altho we did have a few get some minor burns via sparklers and stupidity(by letting the wick get too low on bottle rockets before they put them in the bottles/tubes)...I did good to staying on plan just a brat and a piece of ham and a 2 non bbq ribs...drank my water and I think maybe a total of 2 diet Mt Dews, and that being because everytime I turned around I cought one of my kids drinking it....lol

Becky ...yes I fo feel guilty sometimes about a few things ..like not spending enough time with 3 of my kids(they live with their father) and not exercising because I will do it by myself as long as there is NO one around or I dont want to do it at all or walking I just dont want to do that by myself...I dont know I am just funny when it comes to stuff like that

Machon ..... I am glad to hear that you are having a great time...sometimes iI think that vacations can be worse the a regular day at home because you never get time to rest lways on the run going to see this and that...lol

Deb ...congrats on the 160's that is great news... Ill be there someday... good luck with the rest of your journey...

to all the rest of the Queens...Liz, Bre, Claritta, Vic, Tammy, Becky, And any one else that i had forgotten....
