Young newbie needs atkins buddy!

Hey!! I have been working on eating less carbs for about a week, but now that I have the book, I am oficially beginning Atkins on Monday, July 12. I am younger, but I would love a penpal of any age. I am not exactly sure of my ideal goal loss, but I'm thinking somewhere around 30-40 pounds. I know everyone has different goals, and I'm willing to be a pal of any ideal weight loss. I've been doing fairly well about looking for the carbs in things, and am pretty confident so far, but everyone always can use some encouragement. I am a college student, and I'm especially afraid for when school starts again. College=pizza and beer. I am new to the site and to atkins, and I would love to talk with anyone via either snail or email. Thanks!

WOE: Atkins
Start Date: July 12, 2004
Hi!

I'd love to be your pen pal. I'm hoping to lose about 50 lbs. I have done Atkins before, and was hoping to start earlier than I did (July 12th) but I went on vacation and things got sidetracked.

July 11th I weighed myself on the new scale my mom bought and said "This is it! Time to start Atkins!" So, here I am.

I'm 23 and I go to the local community college in the fall and spring semesters. I'm disabled, so I live with my mom. (I've got left sided cerebral palsy and am legally blind)

Actually the cerebral palsy is one of the things that inspired me to get back on this diet. I have felt myself becoming slower in movement and just generally feeling more fatigued earlier. I know that the more weight along with this makes things much worse.

I have family that supports me. My mom went and bought a bunch of stuff on the day I started the diet. I've done this twice before. The first time I didn't do it on my own free will. The second time, I let the cravings make me give up fairly quick. Now, I'm doing my best to let the cravings bounce right off of me. I want to feel good and fit again!

Sorry for the rambly post, but feel free to pm me or e-mail me. I've also got AOL/Yahoo/MSN.

Hey Jennifer!! I'm so sorry it took me soooo long to respond to your post. I've been super busy lately. I had to go to a wedding for a weekend, and moving out of one place to another. Ahhh!! But anyway, thanks so much for responding to my post. I hope we can talk soon! I think it will help that you are in college too because I think it will be extra tough to stay on Atkins when school starts again. Well if you wanna talk on aol message me: kellyne23. Hope to hear from you sooN!.
