Hi Smilin Mary,
I am not from Nor Cal now but was born and raised in San Francisco...many, many years ago.
About 6 years ago my husband applied for a job at the Oroville PD as a dispatcher, but we moved to Tennesse instead and decided to retire. The whole process was very time consuming so we decided to pull our motorhome up to Paradise/Magalia area. I fell in love wiith that area and if we ever move back that is the place we will move to. I loved the shopping in Chico and could not believe how much Chico had grown. My sis-in-law lives in Gridley.
You have joined a wonderful way of eating. It is a lifetime thing for me and after a few stalls, etc. I am "back in the saddle" again.
I also had 100 lbs to lose. I lost 50 and am working on the other 50 now. It took about 10 months to lose the first 50 for me. I am and always have been a slow loser....but it has stayed off, well, except this yoyo 5lbs. Lose 5 gain 5, now I am past the 5 thing and have lost 7 lbs...but I think it is because of a root canal I am having done...I'll take it anyway I can get it....or should I say LOSE IT!?!?

How far north are you talking? I am from Visalia, which is actually Central California.

I do live in the central Valley, California still a little bit aways from you about 1.5-2 hours north from you. Hope your staying cool its too hot right now!

I know, it is terrible isn't it? We are heading over to Monterey for the weekend though, that should give the family some relief.

Sounds better than what I am doing- I have to shampoo my carpets because my lovely dog decided to get into the garbage and take out all the dirty diapers and meat bags out. Oh man its a mess. So yesteday my brother was supose to help me move my sectional. He never showed up so I ended up doing it myself. What a workout!

How are you doing? Sticking to Atkins??? Hope so! I am doing good and even made my husband stay home to bbq the steak while I went to pick up our daughter.
