Any buddy out there?? I would like one
Hi Everyone -
I am new just checked this out yesterday and wanted to be a part of this. Lets see here I am 25 years old and live in California. Just had my baby girl (Jasmine Marie) 12-22-03. I have always been overweight or chuncky a some would put it. Now that I have a little girl I want to be able to keep up with her when she really starts moving. I am a stay at home mom. I just need help staying on track. There are about 4 people that I know that lost lots of weight on the Atkins but for some reason it doesn't help me much. I have about 30+ pounds to lose and I at least want to lose about 15 by September since its our anniversary and we are going to Cancun!! I just need someone to say hi and make sure we can help eachother!! I am on the Atkins induction part! (Man its hard) Thanks Deanna ![]() |

Hello Deanna, I'm also new. I'm 29 years old married with 3 kids. My oldest is 9 and my youngest is 5 months. I live in California. I have always been "chucky” too. I have done the Atkins before started the Atkins for the first time in 1999 I had gained so much weight after my first child was born that I had to do something about it. Tired of being 255lbs I decided to go on the Atkins. Anyhow, I got on the Atkins diet, and worked out and lost a whopping 110lbs. I went from a size 22 to a size 7 it felt great. I stayed a size 7 for 8 years till I got pregnant with my second child and developed Preeclampsia gain 90lbs. I lost 30 lbs in 2 years and was about to get on the Atkins again when YES! I found out I was pregnant again with my third child. I was really scared because I didn’t want to gain the weight back but I knew I was going to put some back on. I only gain 50 with my third child but I had not lost all my weight from my second child so I was back being 255lbs. I started the Atkins back up again, June 15, 2004. I am now 230lbs. I have lost 25 pound. I do 3 miles a day of walking. It’s really hard for me right now because I have 2 little ones. I am a stay at home mom also. And that makes it a little easier for me to do my induction.
I read your anniversary is in September? My anniversary is on the first of September. I only dream we were going to Cancun too. lol .lol. Anyhow write back when you get a chance. I'm still on induction. Only because I became weak on forth of July and had some high carbs that day regret it but im staying strong now. Mia |

Thanks guys -
I am doing the induction again as well. I am starting all over. This weekend was a bad one. Just put it this way I took my car to get the windows tinted at 8:30 am and didn't get it back till 10:30 pm. Nightmare!!! So we were stuck out in that area with my 6 moth old all day. It was just a bad day! Today is better just getting stuff ready for the week and make it cheat proof. I am getting my meals planned and somewhat preped. I also talked to my husband and he agreed not to tempt me to cheat anymore and that he is also going to start eating the Atkins way. Hopefully it works if not then its plan B. He goes and eats by himself. I really hope I can do this... Oh yeah! My anniversary is September 11,1999 You should plan to go to Cancun some time it is beautiful maybe when the kids are older. Cancun also has great stuff for kids to do! Thanks again Deanna |

There is going to come a time where you get stuck in a situations where you have no choice but to cheat. I usually carry a little something with me. Just in case
. What kinds of meals do you prepare while induction? im not a big fan of red meat, and im so tired of chicken. I am running out of ideas lol. I really do think the hardest part is induction. After that, it is very easy especially with so many low carb. foods out there now. They even came out with low carb milk. Finally!!. I am a got milk type of person lol. Hang in there Deanna. It pays off so nicely at the end. If i could be of help in anyway you are more then welcome to email me.......... ![]() Mia |

Hey Mia-
I agree the induction is really hard. But we just have to get over that hurdle and we are home free! You know its the cravings that kill us and acting upon them makes it worst, if we over come them then they will go away. At least that is what I keep telling myself. As far as things to eat on the induction- This morning I made 3 eggs with turkey bacon and some cheese. I know you said you eat a lot of chicken (same here) but what I was thinking is if you eat turkey. I know my mom makes this stir fry kind of mixture with the turkey legs. First you boil the legs or you can just use left overs from a whole baked turkey. Then you shred the meat off of the leg and fry it with some approved veggies. Its really good and if you boil it you can add some of the broth to keep it really moist. Just and idea. Its really good! There also is fish. Fish can get expensive or your family might not like it. Don't know. Then there is the famous other white meat pork. I don't eat much pork. Hope this helped you a little. Deanna |
