*~*TN and MS Belles Gone Carbs*~*
Good Morning Belles! I thought I'd give us a fresh page to write on. The shower and dinner went well. I refrained from the cake and goodies, took low carb tortilla's to add to my fajita's and had protein tortilla chips...I know I had more than my share of carbs, coz they do add up, but at least I stayed legal and haven't gained any weight!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Hugz, Arlene |

Hello everyone!
hope everyone's weekend was good...ours was...in spite of the rain. We went to friend's birthday party saturday night in gulfport which was a lot of fun and then sunday we met other friends in jackson for lunch. I started clomid saturday...none of those nasty side effects have shown up..like mood swings, dizziness...thank God. of DH(Joe) has already forgiven me for anything I may do while taking the drug(like snapping at him) hehehe ![]() Things are going well for a monday...kinda of surprising..but a good feeling nonetheless. time for lunch. i'll check in later Lynn |

Good Morning all! Glad to know everyone had a good weekend. I helped my brother and sister in law move into their new home last night. After all the moving, I fell off the wagon and ate pizza. Oh, well. Here we go again. I guess that's just part of it. Atkins is becoming easier, but it's still not easy.
It's finally quit raining here in Chattanooga. I'm praying it doesn't start again soon. Is the weather good for everyone else? ~Shonda |

I was beginning to think I needed a boat instead of a car. I know we need the rain, but it's kinda depressing after so many days of it. The weather affects my moods, I don't want to work out when it's nasty outside.
Maybe the sunshine will come out and stay for awhile. ~Shonda |

Good Mornin Belles!
I got some sleep last night! LOL I drug around all day yesterday from sleep deprivation...even though TOM didn't arrive I still get all the yucky symptoms...PMS, depression, belly-bloat and now add insomnia to that mix...grrrrr For two days now I've been fighting the desire to binge...wild thoughts of having a sugar orgy keep running around my brain...chocky cake, ice cream, thick slabs of bread slathered with butter and apricot preserves. Instead I dropped my carbs even lower than normal trying to banish the evil my body is craving! Adrienne Will we exercise today? My knee is still messed up , but I need to move my body in some way...I pretty much laid on the couch all day yesterday. Shonda~ my moods are greatly affected by the weather as well...it would be so lovely to have a whole string of sunny and 78 degree days...tho not likely here ![]() Well girls...can't get DH outta bed...I guess I'm going to have to go use the foot tickle technique! Hugz, ![]() Arlene

Good Morning!!
yeah I'm with yall...tired of this rain...I'm so ready to ride bikes again. Arlene, your sugar orgy cracked me up! hehehe I get that way sometimes...I think a candy bar will solve all my troubles...if i'm tired and need a pickup but it never works...you'd think i'd learn after all these years. I've been getting so tired at work...esp in the afternoon...I think part of it is sitting in front of a computer all day...so going to try and take more small breaks or try and find something to do away from the computer which is hard b/c so much of my job is sitting in front of the PC. oh well almost time for lunch..i'll check in later. hope everyone is having a good, rainfree day! Good Afternoon to all! Hope your workday is going by fast. It's one of "those" days for me. I don't believe it will E V E R end. Oh, well. I'm at the half way point of the week at least.
I'm hoping to lose a few more pounds in the next week and a half. I'm leaving on Saturday the 10th for a much needed vacation to the beach. I'm already worrying about my eating habits. It's a "family" vacation with almost 20 family members going. We rent a huge house and we all need a vacation when we return. It's fun, but I wouldn't want to go more than once a year. Have a good afternoon! ~Shonda |

Morning Belles.
I blew it....fought the binge urge for three days and then last night I gave in...and to what?? Potatoe salad! I made a recipe from low carb and lovin it to try and quell the sweets urges I'd been having (low carb fudge brownies) but they are blech!! The soy flour is bitter and they aren't rich, but kinda dry and off tasting. The only thing I've had that is anything like a good sweet treat for those cravings days is LC ice cream. I wish I could buy small quantities of Breyers LC vanilla. I accidently came across a great LC hot fudge recipe by experiment. 2 T cream, 1 T cocoa powder and 2 packets of splenda...put in small mug and nuke on high for 1-1 1/2 mins...tastes almost exactly like the real sugar laden stuff. I'm afraid to weigh tomorrow after what I did yesterday...and after all that deprivation I did the 5 days before *groan* I hope the rest of you are doing well. Sihaya...congrats on the lb lost! My knee is still killing me...kept me awake most of the night so today I'm like a zombie *yawn* Hugz, ![]() Arlene |

Arlene, I'm right there with you. I had fought the urge for a couple of days and then I had lasagna last nite. I feel awful this morning. Both physically and mentally. I didn't feel like doing anything after I ate all that pasta last nite. Oh, well. Guess I start again. I'm planning on upping my work out today to try and compensate for last nite. But I am dreading weighing myself. Oh, well. Hope your knee gets better, when it keeps you awake that is some kind of bad pain.
To everyone else, I hope you are doing better than me. I am having all kinds of cravings today since I "fell off the wagon" last nite. Have a good morning! ~Shonda |

Hi there
Hey let me know if you gals ever have any gatherings, it would give me an excuse to come down there. I lived in Mississippi for a very short time, and love it down there, but my husband hates it

Good Morning! and Happy Friday to all yall!!!
![]() I'm so excited to have monday off! it'll be a long friday for sure... ![]() NaturalMama23, welcome! what part of MS did you live in? I'm in South MS. I do love it here too, except for the heat and humidity. I had a friend in college from Minnesota and his first summer in MS he went around saying "I'm melting." eheheh which sometimes it feels that way. so what's everyones plan for the weekend? not too sure here...will definitely go see spiderman 2. I'm a comic book geek(although I haven't bought one in years) and spiderman is my favorite superhero. I loved the first one and the second promises to be better...spiderman is a great character and I think they explore more of the depth of who he is in 2. Where's Ms. Adrienne? I hope the rain hasn't washed her away. it poured last night...had to travel to a wedding shower...tonight is the wedding so hopefully the rain will let up for a while. time to get back to work. I lived in Horn Lake & Southaven. Just for a Summer though, stayed with my dad's sisters who actually live in Tupelo now. I loved it so much though! My ex boyfriend is from Philadelphia & I loved how we were in the quiet little town, but so close to Memphis. I love Elvis & the Blues so Memphis was great. Last March my hubby & I met my Aunts in Tunica and stayed for a weekend, I had a blast, but hubby didn't like it too well. Southern people are just too much for him, lol

NaturalMama
to our thread. I live in Memphis, but moved here from Philly when I was 14. I know sometimes NorEasters sometimes feel as if they've been transported to another world when they come south, but I have grown to love the outright friendliness of people here. My DH is from Australia and he was amazed at how a complete stranger could strike up a conversation with you just standing in line at the grocery....LOL...he soon found out that I do it too!And...yeah....where is Miss Adrienne? If she hasn't posted anything by tnoight I'm gonna give her a call and make sure she's ok, I think her DH is out of town til tomorrow. Well, I'm off to go shopping with my sis and mom...we are trying to have a girls day out 2 times a month...but I don't know if my knee will hold up for the whole day....I have an appt with an ortho Dr on Tuesday...the pain keeps me up almost every night lately. Lynn...I don't know what we're doing this weekend. Jak starts his mini vacation tonight and doesn't have to go back to work til next Thursday!! Ya'll have a wonderful day! Hugz, Arlene |

Hey Everyone! Sorry Ive been MIA. We are about to leave to go to MI. to get andrew
I am not sure how much I will be on in the next few days but I will try to check in atleast once while Im gone. I went to the doctor yest. for my thyroid check up & he was really onto me about my weight. Ive gained5 lbs in the last month. So he wants me to stay between 1200-1400 calories a day & exercise more than 3 times a week. He said he wants me to lose 25 lbs before I go back in 6 months. depending on what my bloodwork comes back like depends on if I have to start taking synthroid or not. Well I have alot to do before we leave .... oil change, wash clothes, pack, etc. Hope all of yall have a great 4th of July! |

Happy 4th Belles!
I am still alive....and hope you all are. Adrienne...have a safe trip and a good time with family...let me know when you get home! Lynn, how's the clomid going? I have watched shows on discovery health and seem to remember most things I've heard about clomid have to do with mood swings and food cravings (holding up a holy cross against the food cravings for ya) I hope all is well with you. Shonda, Shelley et all....have a great long weekend. As for me, I'm off my feet again. I spent the day shopping with my sis and mom on Friday and by Friday night the knee swelled up again and the pain was so bad that this time I called my Dr at 10 pm to ask for pain killers. I hope the ortho gives me something to help heal it quickly when I go on Tuesday. Well...gotta run....been thinking about all of you. Hugz, Arlene |

Good Tuesday yall!!
it's thundering here...guess it's time for an afternoon shower...don't think it's rained in two-three days. how was everyone's long weekend? ours was good. didn't do much which was nice. it's been like a monday here...things going wrong and all...tomorrow will be much better. Arlene, I really haven't experienced any side effects with the clomid. Thank goodness...ofcourse I am taking a low dose(50mg). Next monday i'll have a progesterone test which will tell if the clomid worked. I've been reading a little on the Internet about some things. I had some fibroids removed in 2002. I found a link that talked about fibroids developing because of too much estrogen and not the balance of progesterone.(which when i learned i had fibroids i was told they just happen..no real explanation) so it'll be interesting to see those test results. anyway...that's my self-diagnosis... whcih from what i've read is the easiest deficiency to treat and clomid really helps with it.we went bike riding saturday which was really fun. nice to be outside and enjoying the weather without the rain. glad this week is a short week too. hope everyone is having a good day!! <-----Dork---------
Any who....... im scr_wed I jumped of the whole thing last week. I really don't get it, I can't get on again like before. I haven't even worked out since I hurt my ankle. I will be going in the morning.... I hope. Ive kept fairly busy with work and the house. We are almost done with the "building" part of the things we were going to do. Now I just need a huge bin to trash everything in and takethe next 5 months to re do all the rooms (5 rooms) I thought one month a room would help me get everything perfect before moving to the next.I think I need to do some searching, deal with what my "inner" issues are while getting back in the exercise habit. Have the downstairs done by the end of next month will give me a real exercise room. Arlene---- Are you still doing SB instead of atkins? If so, how is that working for you? I have been seriously thinking of just getting a Lap Band or something. Either way I know I have to fix the eatting issures first. How is everyone else? ![]() |

Good Wednesday yall!!
![]() How is everyone doing? I'm doing good. Last night was a big TV night Both Big Brother and the Amazing Race premiered. Don't know how i feel about this year's houseguest in Big Brother...wasn't really drawn to anyone...well I did like Jennifer...the purple hair/tatooed girl...but she'll probably go first. almost all the other houseguests I wasn't really impressed with. I did like Michael, the cowboy. There is a guy Will who is from Tupelo, MS on there. He's the token gay guy... The Amazing race we really enjoy...think we love seeing all the areas they go to. Me and Joe thought if we ever went on the amazing race we would be so distracted by the beauty of some of the places it'd be hard to rush through it. we'd definitely be eliminated first... ![]() so that was my evening...really wanted to do other things and probably will next week...just will have to tape it and watch later. I'm in a cleaning/declutter kick so I don't want that to die down!! ![]() Shelley, it's so hard to get back into a routine or start an exercise routine. I'm so against routines until I recently read a statement about routines that said basically routines are things we do without having to think about it...i like that...I think I think too much about everything and obsess a lot. so instead of thinking of routines as dull and boring i could approach it as something less for me to worry about and i'll just do automatically. I'd love for exercise to come like this. Bike riding is beginning to come like that...that is if the rain holds off for a few days. My ovaries have ached for two days...ugh...must be the clomid...gave them a good workout. I go in monday for the progesterone test...i hope those numbers are good. Lynn |

Hi to all! Hope this week is going good for everyone. I am leaving Friday for a week at the beach. This has been the longest week so far. I am so busy here at work and at home trying to get everything ready to leave. I've not been sticking to my plan of eating as well as I should. Oh, well. I can always start again.
Lynn, good luck with the clomid. I have two close friends that it worked great for. I'm sure it will work for you too. Shelley, a room a month is a very good plan. I'm impressed, I can't get that motivated. I have one bedroom left to paint in my house and I've had the paint for almost two months. I even painted a "test" area to see if I like the color, and I've yet to paint it. I'll wait and then drive myself crazy to finish it in one afternoon. Arlene, hope your knee is feeling better. Hope all your TLC pays off and your knee heals quick. Hope everyone has a good afternoon! |
