Livin' it up low carb

I'm looking for friends to help me stay on track. I have a lot of weight to lose. So far I have lost about 14 lbs. but I need to lose closer to 200, and I need support to get me there.... I have lots of support to give and I read everthing I can get my hands on about the low carb life so I'm pretty knowledge and ready to help some people who are like me, just starting out and have a long way to go. Thanks so much for your help. -Rynn P.S. I'm a girl, i realize my name isn't telling about that, and It's pronounced Wren like the bird. Thanks so much!!!!!

Checking in Day 1

Hey this is day 1 of me trying to get back into the Atkin's swing of things. I'm going to try to keep anyone whose interested update at least 4 times a week as to my progress or to offer encouragement to those of you who post here. Speaking of Jennifer and Jersey good luck to you on your continued success!! Today was ok. It was good in the sense that I did low carb all day, but it was bad in that I didn't exercise today. I'm making my exercise goal: 30 mins. 4 days a week. So I still have time. I made plans to go walking with my sister tomorrow. She is trying to lose weight too, but she's doing low-cal. She's been through a rough time lately and hasn't really been trying except when we walk together. Ok, well keep on keepin' on and good luck to all of you. P.S. I need more pals to see me through!

Rynn good luck girlie...hang in there and do what you can for your sis when you guys hang together. My best friend does weight watchers when she's on a plan Some people aren't tolerable of other people's choices of getting healthy....but she's never given me grief about my WOE, and I don't give her grief about her WOE....but no matter what, it's important to be supportive no matter what

Thanks HolyTerror

Hey thanks for your support HolyTerror. Yeah I give her all the support I can, though we have different WOE we're sister's and we love and care about each other and when we walk or play tennis I think we do it as much for each other as for ourselves. Good luck to you on your weightloss journey!!!

Thanks for the tip

Thanks so much for the tip Vic. I checked out the Century club and posted there too. Right now I'm focusing on building a good support network of people who will hold me accountable. I really think more people is better, because that was whether it's 3 in the afternoon or 9 in the evening, I'd like to be able to log on and find friends to get me through those rough patches when i don't think I can go on or when i want the doughnut. lol, Accountability. Encouragement. Friendship.

Day 2

Wow, I just posted here this morning and the support and encouragement is overflowing I could almost cry. In a way I feel that you all could will me to lose the weight just with your encouragment. Well,a little info about myself and my day. I started atkins about a 6 or 7 weeks ago, the first 2 weeks I started strong and lost 10lbs. the the next 4 weeks I started slacking off and lost only 3.8, for a grand total of 13.8! Well, my slacking was bad, and I had a feeling that if I didn't get back on strong that I was going to start gaining, and my suspicions were confirmed today when i weighed. I have gained back 3.7 making my loss only 10.1. So it's a good thing I caught myself in time and now I'm starting to feel like you all are giving me what I didn't have in the first place. Support, accountability, and friendship. I tell you when you're walking down the street with all the sise 2's passing you by in those cute little outfits you could never where you feel so alone in the struggle and it seems impossible. But you all have helped me to realize that I'm not alone and that it can be done. I look forward to talking with all of you and feel free to email me or instant message me at the names int he first post. So about my day. I started again strong yesterday and did well food wise, and today I did even better in the since that today I didn't eat as much or as late in the evening and today, unlike yeasterday, I walked. I walked with my sister at a local mall ( that has no stores in it hardly anymore) and we walked 1.2 miles. It's true what you say. I was having bad back trouble awhile ago and I couldn't hardly get around a grocery store without my back hurting, but I started exercising and strengthning my core muscles. I was doing alot of housepainting, which is exercise let me tell you, and today I was 1.2 miles with no back aches, that means something. Well here's to day 2, the end of the day and all going well! Good luch to you all I hope to hear from you again, and to learn more about you and your troubles and triumphs. Thanks you all so very very much!

P.S. Thanks HolyTerror, and I'm proud of your walk! way to go!!!

Hey Rynn,
Are you weighing yourself daily? I try not to do that. My body fluctuates by hour, by bottle of water, by day. I stick to one day and I weigh and measure each time that week...usually Monday am before I go to work.

I'm doing ok, I was short on my carbs yesterday, but I think I'll hit real close to mine today.

I'm about to head to the sporting goods store to see if i can find a good exercise ball. I need to workout and get motivated again.

I hope you're doing ok today

Day 3

Hi guys. Well it's the end of day 3 for me and I did great! I ate really well. My mom and I went to a buffet for dinner which is really great because we can both have what we want and there is lots to choose from for me. Also for lunch I had brocolli and chz with sliced tomatoes, yum... so good on fiber today, sometimes I don't get enough veggies, but I have so far been good. Also, my sister and I went walking today 1.2 miles again. Go us! We walk after she gets off work and if my family wants me to eat with them, especially if they want to go out that means that everyone has to wait. I feel bad about that, and in the past my sister and I have both cancelled our walks becuase of it, but today I told my family that exercise is an important priority and not to punish me for trying to better myself, but if they can't wait, go and I will find something at home.
HolyTerror, I do not weigh myself everyday. I try to weigh myself every 2 weeks, but my sister and I decided to weigh at the mall were we walk. There's a provate area where we can weigh. She thinks that by weighing together it keeps us honest and working hard because we know that someone else is going to see those numbers! I'm glad to report she is motivated to lose again, because she discovered she was at her all time high. So with both of us motivated there is no stopping us. The problem i often have is if she cancels our walk then I don't go and I need to get over that. So I anticipate getting a pool... one of those that you inflate a ring around the top and fill with water, I'm using forward to using that as another way to exercise.
Tonight I watched a couple of TV shows. One was about these two people who had lost weight, one through gastric bypass, and the other with diet and exercise and both of them were getting cosmetic surgery, the one that exercised had less skin to remove though and overall looked better, but still it frieghtened me, because the the one with the gastric bypass guy was my age!!! Hopefully the fact that I exercise will cut back on that. The other show was called buff brides. It's were they take a couple of women who are getting married in 2 months and they get them fitness trainers. In just those two months you could really see those inches come off. Here's to exercise!!! Guys let me know if my posts are too long. I don't want to type so much if nobody is reading it. I'm glad to here you all are doing well and I have an idea to share... I think I'll wait a little while to post it. Stay tooned. Good luck to all of you and it's so good to hear your doing well. Jennifer watch out for those blueberries.

Hey Rynn,
I had a pretty decent day yesterday. I know how it feels to be absolutely alone in trying to lose and keep it off. I have no support right now. My hubby chooses to eat everything that he doesn't need to, and he's been gaining weight. He's got a fitness requirement that he needs to meet but no, he'd rather sit home, not workout, and eat whatever he can get his hands on. I still keep meaning to go to the sporting goods store to see what they have. I get really frustrated about it, because even though he says he loves me no matter what size I am, he doesn't seem to want to put forth any effort to workout with me.

I had a friend who gave up on diets and had the gastric bypass. She was so proud of her 40 lbs gone in a month or so. I just don't agree with it, but I didn't say anything to her about it. I'm not even sure if she had any kind of plastic surgery afterwards. Even though it wouldn't be practiced if it weren't safe, I still wouldn't put myself under for a gastric bypass. This girl's younger than I am, and had it done almost a year ago. Spooky huh? I guess she was probably 25 or so when she had it done.

I don't think your posts are too long. I'm reading them!!

Day 6

Hi all,

Well sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days, but I think I touched base with most of you either through email or through instant messenger. This week has been great for me. I started walking agin on Tues... Tues & Wed we walked 1.2 miles, and then thurs & fri, we bumped that up to 2 miles, so far I have walked 6.4 miles this week. I don't exercise on the weekend that is a bonus. Next week we hope to walk mon-fri. I have this thing, I believe you should either do the same or do better, never do less, so now that we've started walking 2 miles, I hope to continue that. I did great on food... stayed under every day... of course tomorrow is another day, etc... but so far so good, and from talking to you all everyone seems to be doing pretty good. I think it will be the next few weeks before those cravings and stuff hit. I weighed last tues, but I've decided to weigh on thursdays, so my first week will acctually be 9 days. The I will weigh every thurs. Samaria, everyone weighs on different days, but I think most people weigh once a week and try to do it at the same time every week. Everyone feel free to post in here about your day, or week, or your daily struggles and triumphs. Wishing everyone continued success!

Hey Rynn,
You're doing great! Just hang in there

I finally made it to the sporting goods store and got an exercise ball. I should use it while hubby is sleeping so he doesn't laugh if i fall down and go boom ROFL.....

Yesterday was sort of a good day. I hope today's just as good.

Hope you're doing well

Day 7

Hello everyone,

Today is day 7, week one gone, thank goodness. Whew!
So far so good, I can already tell how great this greoup is going to be for me. If for no other reason I start emailing some of you or posting on one of the BB and I forget to eat and get motivated to do well at the same time.

This week
Did great on water 64 oz every day!

Did great on exercise... walked 1.2 miles on tues and wed, then upped it to 2 miles on thurs and fri... my goal next week is to walk 2 miles everyday mon-fri... I am really going to need your support there

Food... I did good, I stayed under 20 all week, but sat I did indulge in a little LC ice cream, but just that on day and I didn't gorge, so really not bad, and Sun, I went so long without eating I feel that when I finally ate I little more than I wanted to, i was still under 20 mind you and it was salad and No carb meat that I ate, but still I'd like to get away from that.

Hope you all are doing well take care

WTG Rynn!!!

I did my Denise Austin workout yesterday. 40 mins total...my body sure was feeling it today. But I want to start slowly on it. 3 days a week, with another day or 2 on treadmill/elliptical. also we walked both breaktimes today too, so that's helpful

WTG HolyTerror

Yeah this 5 days a week thing is hard, but I'm determined... I think it's good to start slow, especially if you're not used to it... so WTG HolyTerror on the exercising...
Hope you have a great lowcarb day tomorrow!!!

Everyone want to know!!!

Everyone wants to know how long I've been on the diet. Well, it's like this... The first 2 weeks on I lost 10.1 lbs... then I was half on half off and I lost another 3.8 lbs over about 2 weeks, then I went off totally and gained back 3.7 lbs... reducing my lose from 13.8 to 10.1... so I got worried and go back on and then lost 8.8 lbs this week... for a total loss of 18.9... so totall 7 weeks, but I wasn't on it or perfect the entire time...

Ok, so I"m thinking about cheating on my diet. Like one meal every 2 weeks. Then turning around and getting right back on for the next meal... I think there are advantages and disadvantages to doing it... but what do you guys think??? If I do this... it will be a little over a week before I cheat... so I have plent of time to decide...

Hope everyone is having a good low-carb day!!!
*Rynn*

P.S. Did I mention I"m wearing pants I could fit in a few weeks ago!!! Yeah!!!
