Hi, Welcome to the TN and MS penpals BB. We are a group of Low Carbers who have been writing to support one another in the Low Carb lifestyle. Some of us have even met! If you live in the MidSouth area, we'd love to have you join us. We're planning another get together sometime in June, so please come on in and get to know us and let us get to know you.

Good morning Belles, We were on page 5 so I decided to start a new thread. I have been doing fairly well on my induction, I'm 9 days in and finally dropped 3 lbs. I've been very strict with myself using fitday.com to keep track of where my carbs are coming from and trying to pre-plan my food for the day. I am consistantly surprised at the calories I am consuming each day though. So far it's averaged 2400 a day. If I could somehow get that down to 1950-2000, I think I could do better with lbs dropping. Today I have decided to cut back on mayo and salad dressings, by keying in my planned menu, I was able to get my cals to 2028, which is right on target with the suggested BMR.

How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was busy as usual, we spent Sunday at the B-Ball field watching the RedBird's play. We didn't get to see the end because it went into overtime and then a storm blew in. I was neat to see the field staff running out and dragging a huge tarp over the playing field trying to protect it from excess water.

Well, much to do today...I'll write more later.

Hugs,
Arlene

HI ALL!!
Just wanted to drop in and let you all know I am still here. Our trip to Knoxville was nice, the wedding was beautiful. But on a worse note, I didn't do very good on WOE while away. I am starting induction again tommorrow, so say a prayer for me.

Hope everyone is doing well,
try and write more tommorrow, I am still exhausted from my trip.
Have a good nite.

Hi there everyone. I'm from Cookeville, TN and am searching for more low carbers for a support base. My friends have all left town for the summer, I just moved so i dont' have internet at home (which means no lowcarbfriends.com when i need it most!) and my only friend here encourages me to cheat! If anyone on here is around my area, please drop me a reply to this and I have no problem exchanging #'s. thanks alot!

Good Afternoon!

Lerina,
Always nice to see new people posting on our little thread. There is great support here.

Denise,

glad to hear the trip went well. It's so hard to travel and low carb. hope induction is going well.

I read an article on yahoo news about low carb was good for immediate results but over a year's time would have the same results as other diets...think I'm rewording that right. but it makes sense...it's hard to eat this way for months and months. but I feel so much better eating this way, you would think that'd be motivation enough to stay with it. anyway...I'm rambling..

our weekend was good...this weekend we are going to pensacola! very excited about that...we are just looking to get away for the weekend...no real plans...those outings are the best!

guess i better get back to work..time to eat

Lynn

Good Morning!!

Happy Wednesday!! the week is half way over!! yeah!!

I made reservations for our trip...I'm getting pretty excited. ready for friday to get here and for us to leave.

Is anyone else watching colonial house on pbs? I'm hooked! it was on monday and last night and will be back on again next monday night. There's no way I could have live in the 17th century. the laws were really strict...it's been interesting to watch and i love the narration...kinda of a mini-history lesson and since it's on PBS no interrruptions!

doing well on eating...so glad about that...hopefully i'll see the scale move. We're trying to conceive and haven't been successful so we're taking the next step and I have an appt with a reproductive endocronologist June 24th for testing for me. Joe is fine...thank goodness...but my mini-goal is to have lost 10 lbs by then...figure being back on induction levels maybe i'll have a good loss within the next few weeks.

well that's about all news I have...

Have a great day! ofcourse I'll check in later.. hehehe

Good Morning Belles!

Welcome to the BB Lerina. That I know of, no one so far has posted here from the Cooeville area, but come in and talk to us when you can...we're here for you.

Neesee, I'm glad your trip to Knoxville was great, getting back on the wagon can sometimes be hard, especially as you go through sugar withdrawals again, at least that seems to be my biggest hurdle.

Lynn, so you're going to Pensacola? I'm jealous, Jak and I love going through Mobile and stopping for dinner at the "Original Oyster House", the oysters are fantabulous, fresh plucked from the ocean and plunked on the table, as well as a great seafood platter with all kinds of choices from the sea. Are you still considering joining Jak and I for our campout Memorial weekend? We'd love to have you! I was wondering last week when the abbreviation TTC appeared for a couple of ya'll..."Trying to Conceive"??? Good luck with the endo Dr...there is a good one here in Memphis that I looked at his website a few years back when Jak and I considered me having a tubal reversal (I was one of those fertile Myrtal types) but sadly at 44 and going through peri-menopause, my chances are gone

Jak and I and my mom and dad went to a RedBirds game in skybox seats last night....the RedBirds did horribly, but we had a good time anyway. I took 2 slimjims and 2 stringcheeses so I could have a snack, but the smells from a Rendezvous stall outside our door drove me nuts! I've been craving barbeque nachos all night and morning...LOL

Adrienne...sorry I missed last nights workout...I'm ready for tonight at 5:45 if you are!

Well, off to do a few things...I check back later!

Hugz

Long, lost, CHUBBY soul here...

Hi Ladies,

I fell off the low-carb wagon and am back up to a size 16 from a size 8 Talk about depressing...

Oh well, if you guys will have me back I'd love the support. DH and I are going back on our diet tomorrow. I am still looking for someone to workout with if any of you new ladies belong to the DAC I have membership there. I also own more FIRM tapes than you can imagine. DH works construction type work all day so adding more exercise isn't appealing to him at all and its tough to do it alone.

Oh, Lynn...I meant to tell you...we really got into those PBS shows 2 years back, our favorite was Settlement house (I think that was what it was called), the one we watched after that was WWII house and then one about Victorian England last year. I hope they replay Colonial House from the beginning, I'd like to watch it from the beginning.

dzhope! We wondered what happened?! Welcome back Adrienne and I work out 2-3 times a week at her clubhouse, we'd be happy to have you join us. She lives in OliveBranch and I live on the south side of G-Town What is DAC? Unfortunately I don't have funds for a membership anywhere right now, but I would if I could.

We've all been struggling this past 4-6 weeks, falling off the wagon, crawling back in again, and hitting all sorts of bumps along the way....but that is life, non?

It's good to see you!

Thanks for the support everyone. So far so good, tomorrow marks my first full week of induction (started last tuesday but added two days for two days I cheated ) and I'm feeling pretty good. I've been sick on and off for the past couple of days and suprisingly enough I'm not as hungry as I was before. I even went to a bar last night to play some NTN trivia, had a diet coke, and though the temptation for something alcoholic was there, I didnt' even think about succumbing to it. I also hopped on the scale yesterday and though the results were encouraging, I'm keeping them to myself until I can weigh tomorrow.
Where is everyone from?

I am from Memphis, TN but moved to Olive Branch, MS last Sept.

Lerina: Good to hear the scale was encouraging when you got onto it. Yah for you only having a diet coke last night instead of an alcoholic drink. Good Job!
We went past Cookville when we went to Knoxville (for a VOLS game) my DH is a vols fan -Do you ever get towards Memphis ? Have any family this way ?

LOL Ayayi Cap-i-tan!

2.5 hours to go.

As to that girl's photo, I have no hope of ever getting that thin again....The smallest I ever was, was a size 9 and that was with daily exercise, never eating and being 19 years old. I'd be very happy to be in a size 14....estatic with a size 12!

see you shortly girlyfriend!

Wow...big difference Adrienne! I wish my lbs had that much effect, but I have more to lose than you so I must be patient! Not one of my best virtues! LOL

I've been busy busy all day so far after a night of insomnia.

Adrienne, See you at 5:45 to walk away the lbs!

Hugs to all the Belles

Good Afternoon!

I checked in earlier but didn't post...busy morning and just been taking care of small stuff this afternoon.

Adrienne,
Wow! you can definitely see the progress. That's where my first weight comes from is the face...which is great because every notices heheh

the scale was down today!! yeah! progress is always nice to see...esp after cheating and being off the wagon so much. but back on it now. I was at wal-mart this morning and there was a mazda convertible with a personalized tag "LOWCARB" heeheh thought it was cute...and thought I wonder how many lectures they've got on the evils of low carb? maybe since they have a license tag they are pretty ******** and defend this WOL well.

think we're going to go see shrek 2 tonight...we saw the first shrek like 3 times at the theater...kept getting invited by different people and loved it so much that we just went.

back to work...at least only 1 more hour to go!!!

Lynn
