A new day...
Hello! I'm here to confess my sins... and re-committ! I started exercising on a regular basis last December and began low carbing early January. I did VERY well on program and was feeling VERY good about myself overall. The weight was coming off steadily...I had an abundance of energy...etc.,
Then it happened... I lost my way early March...my family and I went on a two week vacation to Florida. I didn't plan very well. I tried (or should I say, I had good intentions?) I made it as far as the border, once we crossed over, it was like open season in the food/drink department...and I just kept going. I didn't gorge out on food, I just went back to anything and everything on the menu. No restrictions. One positive thing I did do was keep up with the exercise. I walked almost daily. When I got back home I planned on getting back on track. It didn't happen. *ugh* I've been feeling just awful since reverting back to my old eating habits. Needless to say, I've put weight back on and am really ashamed of that. I mean, what part of all of this do I not understand? I WANT to be healthier which means needing to lose the lbs to get there! In order to do this, I need to be faithful to myself in the food consumption and exercise department. Anyhow...enough song and dance. I'm back on track! Would love some support along the way! Lyn |

Help is Here!
Hi Lyn,
I had the exact same issue, less the cool trip , and I fell back into my old ways. I started back on Atkins on 4/30 and have already dropped 3 pounds. I couldn't agree more that I feel better when I am on this WOL. I would be more than happy to help keep you motivated. I am here anytime you need me. Here's to working together towards our goals! Hi Holly!
I replied to your post the other day but I think it went private??? Anyhow...all is going well in the 'getting back on track department' although yesterday I felt extremely tired come late afternoon and actually had to lay down for a half hour! I slept! I'm thinking it's the shock my body is going through with the detox side of it all. Off to the gym now for a half hour of exercise (curves) then will do my run/walk program when I get home on the treadmill. Hope you're having a good one! Lyn |

Lyn,
Good for you Sounds like you are really on track. I think exercise is my downfall. It isn't that I don't want to, it is finding the time to do it. Things here are good. I just wish it would get a bit warmer It is a lot nicer to walk outside than on a treadmill. Hope you have a wonderful and keep in touch. Holly |

Hi Holly!
I too prefer walking outdoors. But the treadmill is wonderful for my walk/run program. I haven't the confidence to do any running outdoors just yet. Heck...they'd hear me coming a mile away *puff puff...wheeze wheeze* So until it comes a tad bit easier for me... in the rec room on the treadmill it is for moi. I know...I'll celebrate reaching 12 weeks by doing my 45 minute run outdoors! *the pressures on* Anyhow...I'm off for a walk with the dog. It's a beauty of a day out there at present, but we've got a thunderstorm on it's way for early afternoon! I love 'em...but only when I'm under cover! Have a good one! Lyn |

It is storming here too. We really need the rain. Last night I had 8 people at my house for a charity meeting. It is very difficult to serve LC food for people who aren't LC. Anyway, I didn't cheat at all
I brought the extra, non LC, stuff into work today to get rid of it.Today and tomorrow are busy work days for me. I am leaving early tomorrow to go home and see my mom for the Mother's Day weekend. Should be a good time. Her and i really enjoy taking long walks together so that will be a nice bonus. Gott run for now. HAve a super day and talk to you soon! Holly P.S. Way to go on the exercise

Hi Holly!
Have FUN with your Mom!!! Lucky you that she's close by and you two can get together! My Mom is on the West Coast of Canada... so it's a bit of a jaunt! (like 4.5-5 hrs in the air )I was wondering if you wouldn't mind joining me and another for conversation under my topic heading HELLO? This way I don't have to repeat myself Always trying to 'save time' LOL Shawn is relatively new to this WOE and I'm sure she'd welcome your thoughts as well!!! Well...I've managed to walk the dog this a.m. , do my 15 min walk/run on the treadmill and am now off for my 30minute session at Curves! Hubby and I are off for our 16 year anniversary dinner tonight which I've already decided I'll be indulging in Red wine but behaving with dinner (protein and vegetables only) I will skip the dessert!!! I repeat...I will skip the dessert. There... that should do it O.k. I'm off... have a great weekend! Lyn p.s. My topic heading "hello?" is also in the Pen Pal section ![]() Last edited by madelyn64 : 05-07-2004 at 10:34 AM. |
