I live in Foley. I have been here since the first of the year, and not seen many people from this area on the board. Anyone else out there?

Alabama Girl
I am new to this board. I joined today. This is my first day on the Atkins again. I came here to get support from others to continue this program. In the past I did it by myself with no support. Well, I didn't last long (2-3 days).
I hope this time I will stay on this new way of eating for good. ![]() |

Living in L.A.
Lower Alabama, that is....
Technically, I'm in the Pensacola area - we're more related to Alabama than to the rest of the state. Welcome to the board Trella. Read and reread the book, come here often for support, join a challenge. This site has given me so much info, support and has kept my house from being clean. Good Luck. |

Hi Trella. How are you doing with your eating? Has it got any easier for you? I'm sure you've read on the board where your cravings will decline once you get into ketosis - the hardest part sometimes is getting through that first part.
Anyhoo- saw your post and was hoping that things were going easier for you this time! |

HI! I just found this thread. I am in Daphne I am so glad to find people down here who are close. I have just started back up and on day 2. I started Atkins when I still lived in Oklahoma and we moved here almost exaclty a year ago. I have gained some of the weight back and now am getting back on the wagon again to lose 10-15 lbs I gained back since moving and not being very good for the last year and a half.
Glad to meet you all! Dawn |

Hi Shenendoah!
How cool are you to be a surrogate! I love pregnant women, so I have to ask a thousand questions... so... how ya' feeling? Any morning sickness? Feeling the babies yet? Are you just eating "normal" or are you watching carbs or doing Sugar Busters? (IF I ever get preggers again, I think I'm going to try Sugar Busters. Are you in Milton? and Soontobeslim! Know what you mean about getting back on the wagon. I've joined a challenge and they have been wonderful at keeping me legal. I can't see all of your avatar as I post... so are you new to this board? Good luck on losing the last of your weight! It being summer down here in the South, your apt to sweat it off! TRELLA - sorry, missed your last post... how is the WOL going? Hanging in there?

werkn'it-
That is so sweet! All is well here, no more MS...thank the Lord! The babies move constantly, sibling rivalry early?? I pretty much do maintenance, but am very careful. Gestational diabetes is a big concern, and something that I would like to avoid if possible. I have a tendency toward very large babies and a surrogacy is no different as I am the one that packs the pounds on them. These babies already measure LARGE. I am trying to keep my weight gain at 1 lb a week but am having a hard time regulating my blood sugar, it drops very quickly. Oh well more than half way there now...

I'm here
Hey, Wendi,
I'm in Mobile. Glad to have you here. How do you like it in the sticky south? I've been on Atkins since 5/05. Lost 9 lbs immediately and been skating at the same point ever since. So 120 and holding. How is your motivation? |

Hi all! It's amazing how many LCers there are. I'm trying to boost myself out of a nine week plateau. I have 14 lbs to go and I'm not co-operating with myself.
Any of you been through the plateau blues? If so how did you get moving again. I'm exercising my fanny off...well I'm not exercising it off. That's the problem. And I never get close to 20 carbs a day. I've stayed on induction for three months and it just ain't happening. Any suggestions? |

Hello all!
I'm Jenn and I live in the 'burbs of Birmingham. I am trying to get back on the Atkins wagon. I lost 63lbs while pregnant but have gained back about 30 lbs. It stinks! Mondayfast- Are you eating enough calories? You know they always say that if you are not eating enough you can stop weight loss. My husband always laughs at that. He's like -yeah right- try telling that to a concentration camp inmate! Glad to see you all here! Jenn |

Wow, Jenn! You lost that much WHILE pregnant! That seems amazing. I gained like the Michelin Man while I was pregnant all those many years ago!
I think you're right about not getting enough calories. I can hardly make myself eat, and the scale still stays stuck on the same stupid number. I take tricyclic antidepressants for a migraine disorder. One of the main side effects is weight gain. Which is funny. If anything could make me depressed, ten weeks of plateau is it! My husband says I have to come off induction, but I know if I start adding carbs, the scale will have no problem going UP. Oh well, still 120 and holding, but it's great to come here and see that it can and will work. |

Hey everyone I am a born and raised Alabamian, I live in Dothan. It is great to know that there are some others close by. Nice to meet all of you. I tell you what though, I think I am tired of the slow life here in Alabama, think I'm ready for a change of pace.
Anyways I have fell off the wagon and feeling pretty down about myself feeling like a failure and so on, but that can only last but so long so I'm picking myself up and dusting myself off and getting back on that wagon. I plan on starting Stillmans tomorrow, so I'm jumping back on and not looking back. And as my mother used to call my sisters and I the Southern Belle's...maybe we should start our on challenge of some sort called the Southern Belle's Challenge...anyone want to jump in there with me (any ideas for the challenge)??? to all
