Hi there,

I know what you mean about the chix thing!!!! but the recipies on here are sooo great!!!! Im doing the atkins thing too, have been since January..

I have a hard time sometimes with the side dish thing to go along with main course, but working on through that!!! At least eating this way doesnt leave you feeling so hungry that you could eat just about anything at anytime...

well before I bore you to death, let me know what you think and if you want to write back and forth..

cheers,
Ann

Seriously, I know what you mean about chicken breasts.. I'm really starting to gag everytime I put something into my mouth. I just don't know how much more meat, cheese and eggs I can eat.

Maybe we can help eachother stay on this WOL with alittle levity.. cuz ya know, I'm a cookey lesbian..
Email me any time at Jennilyn183@aol.com.

When and How much?

Would anyone care to share how long they've been doing Atkins and how much they've lost? I started Atkins this February 9th, and so far have lost 6 pounds. Anyone else?

hello there....

I started officially on 1/1/04

I have only lost 9 lbs.. A slow looser but it's probably because i love to eat!

anyway.. i have 66 lbs to loose in all so i have commited myself to losing about 5 lbs a month.

It's going good so far but i have to admit that it's hard on the weekends , especially when I am with friends or family that love to cook!

Anyone have any good snacks that they would like to share? I am always looking for ways to maintain my diet during work hours...

Sassy

Hi all!

I've been on Atkins 3 weeks today and I've lost 10 pounds! Yay!

My FAVORITE snack by far is Genoa salami slices rolled up with cream cheese inside. It is so good!

Also, spaghetti squash warmed up with a bunch of butter, salt and pepper on it.

Try it!

Keep up the great work! You're all awesome!

I also started on February 9. i've lost about 4 or 5 lbs.
I think i'm becoming addicted to the scale. It goes up and down every day. I think I need to just shoot the darn thing and get it out of MY misery!! lol.

I'm trying to eat as clean as possible, but last night I was just dying for some chocolate so I ate a Russel Stover's sf peppermint patty. (hanging head low).

I'm afraid to death that I'm going to fail. Like I have on every other diet. But I think I'm more afraid of being fat the rest of my life.

Its pretty challenging as my dh is a carb junkie. so i'm trying to cook for him and cook for me. we'll see... maybe I can convert him. man that would make my life much simpler!!!

I hear you about being addicted to the scale. I can't stand the darn thing! I lost about 5 pounds in the first week, then 4 the next, then waffled up and down those last 3 pounds back and forth for the next 1 1/2 weeks! Now it seems I'm at a steady 10 for a couple of days. I think that is something we have to get used to.

I am afraid at failing at this, too. I've tried just about everything else, and this is it. I do feel that this has been easier than most other diets, and I know this isn't a diet. Changing life habits is hard. At least we're giving it our best shot. Give yourself credit and a huge pat on the back for trying! We CAN do this!!

My people!
I'm kind of new to these boards but not new to low-carbing. I'm so glad to find y'all. I had no idea you were all over here! So, has everybody paired off as penpals already, or you just posting here? I'm not kooky and not much of a cook. Does that mean I can't be a part of the club? My partner and I have been doin' the Atkins thang since '98. Long story short, we've been very dedicated this past year and I've lost 50lbs. We're both slow losers since we're not hardcore. We're taking a more leisurely approach I suppose you could say. Anyway, we support each other but she just follows my advice and pretty much just does what I do. I'm the one that's interested enough to do all the reading, look for new recipes, check these boards etc. Anybody wanna correspond with me? Thanks Tony - for gettin' the ball rolling. (Did I really just say that to a gay guy? No pun was intended.)

Re: Hello?? Anyone out there?

Hi Jenni! I posted just a week before you. I laughed when I read your post 'cuz you said you're a 'cookie' lesbian...would that be chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, or another kind? A Freudian slip perhaps? Kooky, cookie, eh, whatever...we're tolerant around here right?!!

FYI...nobody responded to my post and as you pointed out the others were not recent. I know there's another 'family' member on this board, but either she's not looking for a pen pal or doesn't know this section exists. So, it might just be us. If you want to, PM me.

Newbie here

Looks like an interesting group here! I'm also on Atkins---just finished my first week and lost 5 lbs. I've got a LOT (100+) to lose, so I have to learn patience---not one of my strong points! Oh, and you can add me to the "lesbian list", LOL. I've done Atkins before several years ago and lost about 40 lbs. but switched to something else and gained it back. I'm going to stick with it this time. The best thing about it is I'M NOT HUNGRY!
