The funny thing is, my boss assumes that because I am spending so much more time at my computer that I am working harder; actually I'm trying to figure out all of the slang and lingo used on this board.
Anyway, I am in first week and so far so good (my local pub had to order 2 more cases of Calistoga water for me. I think I drank the only case they ever had!) I am up for chatting/tips/advice of any kind. I'm here for all of ya! ![]() email me @ coachese68@hotmail.com |

question of the day!
well so far today i have had a romaine lettuce salad with 5 black olvies and ranch dressing and a lil roasted chicken. 1 diet sunkist soda. i snack on sunflower seeds and drink 12 glasses of water through out the day. the water is the hardest part for me lol.. hate water lol. now for the question of the day.. what was the one thing, or event, that made you feel u had to go on atkins. for me it was the fustration of never being able to find clothes. i straddle the line between being to little for plus size and to big for regular size. i went out for a modeling deal and had the agent tell me that i was to small for plus size and to big for the regular modeling.. it sucked! so share your tales folks!

I decided to try this WOE to look and feel better about myself. I needed to change my self image of myself..and losing weight was the only way that was going to happen.

I ate a lot yesterday
I'm pretty pissed with myself, I had a ton of carbs yesterday. Couldn't help it, went out with some friends to a really good restaurant and everyone ordered a bunch of appetizers which consisted of pure carbs. Arghhhh...now I have to start from scratch again!

Thanks Mickey
![]() Currently I'm doing a long term induction. So far so good. My spouse is stationed at Travis AFB, and he's gone alot, so being on Atkins has helped me keep myself entertained when he's gone. Also, I'm just waiting for the day when he comes home and realizes there's a strange woman (who's much thinner) impersonating his wife! I can't wait til that happens LOL... |

Well,
I love grilled chicken and steak...pork chops, fried chicken, ham and turkey too.....veggie wise : salads, steamed brocolli, fake fried rice (cauliflower w/onion, seasoning, a bit of soy sauce), i have a dish i make with grated zuccini or summer squash mixed with sauted onions, butter, olive oil, and parmesan cheese........I do the same thing with cooked spaghetti squash although it's a bit higher in carbs. I know you'll make your goal by your birthday. I have also set a birthday goal (mine's the 24th of march) and i'm about 14 lbs away from it. Just keep up with your water (i drink nearly 85 oz a day) and find some time to exercise. I'm plannin on hittin fredricks when I drop another size...just to see what they have *evil grin* |

I didn't cheat at all over Superbowl, so I am pleased with myself...the best part though is the reward. I've lost 9lbs. I keep it real because I am keeping it real. 240/231/180 |

Thanks for the encouragement....
Anyone here ever get light headed from time to time. For some reason, I am really light headed today. I am having a hard time getting work done. I've been on this woe for almost a month, so I figure it shouldn't be a carb-detox thing. Any ideas? Thanks Steve |

i think i may know whats up coachese
i was told that the reason why we get headaches sometimes is because our bodies store toxins in fat.. and we you start buring fat u release those impurities and they some times cause you to get headaches. it shouldn't be for very long though. just the occasional headache. try some excedrin tension headache medician. it works to curve my headaches.
and now i must vent.. i hate when the damn scale bounces up and down! its so furstrating!.. i know i haven't even been on this woe for a week yet (it will be a week tommorrow) but still, i keep having this feeling that one morning i will wake up and be thin.. i know it sounds silly, but it just seems that one day i woke up andi was fat.. why shouldn't the opposite be true! ahhh i know patience is a virture, but it may not be one that i posses sorry about the rant.. strength and love all mickey |

The scales of justice....
are not necessarily fair.
Mickey, My advice would be to get on the scale once a week, at the same time on the same day each time. Your body weighs more at different times (after you eat, after you shower, after you finish off that last pint glass of water, and because you are a woman you retain...like I have to tell you that! ) Anyway, if you haven't had your "Whoosh" yet, you will and then the whole 7-10 days will be worth it.You'll feel better about your lifestyle change and you'll be able to stay focused on your goals (B-day) a lot easier. Hang in there sister! Steve |

Steve,
Beth is right. If you're drinking lots of water, you're flushing out all the water-soluble vitamins and minerals, and that can leave you feeling light-headed. Deep ketosis can do that as well. Try to take more potassium more frequently throughout the day, to combat the "flushing out" that's occurring. I take around 300mg of potassium 3x a day. |

Thanks Ladies...
I figured it was something to that effect. I always drank lots of water (1/2 gallon +\- daily) but now I've almost tripled that and my carbs are down from *ashamed* 450-550g daily to 17-20g.
And I am ketosisesisiorizing like mad...I had a really good idea of this wol before I started and I have a sneaky suspicion that this was just what I needed. Update today: 240/228.5/180 ![]() Enough about me; how is everyone else? One day at a time |
