Thanks Elissa.
I'm drinking lots of water. 1 glass every hour on the hour. Hopefully that will flush out alot of the fat ![]() I made some tuna today with mayo, celery seed, onions, pepper, 2 boiled eggs, and parsley. It was yummy. How are you doing on your diet? Talk with you soon. Jennifer |

Hi gtoo,
Whats your name? ![]() I too need to lose weight for medical reasons and also to feel better. I started Atkins on January 23, 2004 and weighed 310.6 and today I weigh 302.2 woooohoooo, this diet is better than any other diet I've been on! I'm not even hungry (I can't believe it) but it sure is a nice change not being hungry ![]() I need to get my weight off for health reasons because I lost my vision in my right eye due to a small stroke, I was really lucky that it wasn't any worse. That was deffinitely my wake up call that I need to get serious and get this weight OFF FOR GOOD. I have a 3 year old little girl and I want to be here for her, she's my precious little angel and needs her mommy. I just hope people read this and really get serious about their health before something like this could happen to them. I'm so thankful that I'm here. I believe that God has a plan for me, he's not done with me yet I feel that I have a second chance at life.I look forward to talking with you and everyone else and making lots of new friends. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN!! Talk with you soon. Jennifer ![]() |

Hi Jennifer,
I started Atkins (again) on Jan. 6. So far I have lost 10 lbs, and my weight loss has kind of stalled there. I'm still in ketosis and my clothes are fitting looser, so I'm wondering if it isn't my scale, it is really old and fluctuates a bit. I did atkins about 5 years ago and lost 25 lbs, but then i got pregnant with my 2nd and gained it back . I need to start exercising too, I'm sure that is part of the reason the weight isn't coming off. I'm planning on joining a place here in town that is kind of like a Curves, but it isn't part of a chain. Elissa 160/150/135

Elissa,
Congradulations on Your 10lb. weight loss!! You go girl!! Are you drinking plenty of water? That many be one of the reasons your stalling? Yes, I think you should start the exercising. I'm waiting till after my induction to start exercsing. I have a video tape called Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone 1 mile tape, and its really good if you can't afford to go to a gym like me , You walk in place for a minute or two and then you do leg kicks and arm exercises and go back to walking again, you do this throughout the tape until you have reached a mile, its really a good way of exercising. I've used it before and lost weight with it. You might want to consider that, just an idea. How old are your children? Talk with you soon. Have a great day. Jennifer |

Hi Elissa and Jennifer! My name is Donna.
Congratulations on your weight loss! My husband and I started Atkins (again) on January 13. He has lost nine pounds and I have lost three. I'm always slower than he his and I know I'm not as super strict on myself as I am with him. He is VERY carb sensitive. We were on it for about four months, maybe five last year and he lost thirty eight pounds, I lost twelve pounds. Unfortunately due to predominately traveling the rest of the year, we both gained it back. It's the only diet that he has ever been successful with without being hungry. Right now he wants to lose sixty pounds. I would like to lose at least twenty, but even more I need to increase my stamina, stretching and breathing. Nice to have others to talk to! ![]() |

Donna,
Its nice to meet you. Thats good that you and your husband are doing this together. My husband is also watching his carbs but not as strict as I am. You are right, its nice having others to talk with. I want to loose 180lbs, so I have a ways to go. Hows the weather there in Raleigh? You snowed in? We still have snow and ice in our driveway but the main roads are clear here. Talk with you soon. Jennifer Elissa, Thats great losing a lb. over night , you go girl! I think water does help. Wow, 2 boys. You have your hands full I bet, lol. I have one girl and she is like having 3 boys LOL, she is full of energy. Talk with you soon. Jennifer |

Hi Donna,
Welcome to the board! My husband is also doing Atkins with me. We did it together about 5 years ago and he lost faster than I did then too. It was very frustrating when he would lose and I wouldn't. But he does have more to lose than I do. I need to lose about 14 more pounds, and then I'll see when I get there I may want/need to lose more. DH, on the other hand, needs to lose 30-40 lbs. It does help to have someone to do this with though! Elissa 160/149/135 |

G'morning girls!
Here in Raleigh the main roads are clear and mostly dry. I hear traffic flying down the nearest one to my house. The side roads, including ours are still a bit tricky though. And wow our deck and driveway are terrible, it's a challenge just to get in and out. Hopefully today's temperature and sunshine will help. Our little dog has had quite a time trying to manuever herself! It seems to me that if we all stick together we can accomplish our individual goals. I enjoy so much having others to talk to about the diet and anything else for that matter. My husband and I work together, play together and have somewhat busy schedules, so my social time tends to be on the internet. We both belong to a car oriented board and I've made quite a few friends there over the last couple of years. I'm so excited to have found this board where I can make more friends with other interests. My husband belongs to perhaps five others, so he has lots of people to talk to about his other interests. I've told him that I just started here and am enjoying it. I hear what you're saying about drinking water, something that I forget to do all the time even not on the diet. I'll have to be smarter about that! Last edited by gtoo : 01-30-2004 at 07:04 AM. |

Hi Everyone
Im in Greensboro! I would like to rid myself of approx 50 pounds. My husband and I did the diet before the holidays (I lost 15 pounds and he lost 10) I have put back on 6 of those pounds.
As for the exercise part of this I don't get much time to do that but I do chase my 18 month old around all day and trust me that is a work out in itself :-) I look forward to getting to know everyone and watching the pounds slip away for us all Angela |

I'm sorry that I haven't been here for a couple of days. My father passed away Sunday. It was a shock. He was only 65 and had a heart attack in his sleep Saturday night. Forgive me it may be a while before I'm back.

Gtoo sorry to hear about your father. My father passed away suddenly from a heart attack at age 49.
I live in Thomasville and work in Greensboro. I started the diet again February 2, 2004 after a two month hiatus. Any of you who want to keep in touch, please send me an email. I have lost 9 pounds since February 2nd, and would like to lose about 47 more before my 32nd birthday. |

Hi Everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend. Sorry I haven't been around my son is teething and ontop of that has a cold. He has wanted to cuddle non stop with his mommy. Daddy tried to take over for a bit on the weekend but my little guy just wanted his mom.
How much snow did everyone get? In our area we have between 2 1/2 and 3 inches on our deck. I just stuck my ruler in the snow so I had an idea. Its nice to see some newcombers on the board from NC and I hope that we can all accomplish our goals together with lots of support. My new goal is to lose 30 pounds by May since I am going to be going back home to visit my family and friends. I figured that would really give me something to look forward to. Have a great day everyone I am off to make mix some tuna up and wrap it in some lettuce and eat lunch :-) |

I live in Thomasville and we got about two inches maybe. Not as bad as last time. I forget which one of you is from Harmony but I think I rode through there for the first time on Saturday on the way up to Stone Mountain!
