Fun Female in Denver seeking PanPal
Hey there!
I am a fun, optimistic 33 yo married woman in the south Denver metro area. I am starting Atkins TODAY, for the second time. I did this one year ago and lost 30 pounds in two months, and I was very pleased with the program. It was easy for me and the results were well worth it. Why did I stop?? I don't know.. but since then, I gained back 20 pounds. I have re-read the book, and it makes sense to me, on an intellectual level, but I still have some "food attitudes" I need to change. I am 5'6 and I weight 184. Yikes! No one knows that, or would believe it! My husband thinks I weigh 150. I wear a size 12 or 14, so I guess I must hide the weight fairly well. I am very, very serious about this program and extremely determined to make it. My goal is to weigh 130 by June 1, and be at 117 by August 1. I was a size 4 all of my life, and worked as a photographer's model in college. I was always known as "the thin one" in my family. That all changed when I got pregnant at 22. I don't know what happened, but in the last 10 years, I somehow gained 80 lbs! My sister and mother are both moderately overweight as well. I am a serious carbohydrate addict. My four favorite food groups at pasta, chocolate, fruits and vegetables. My family eats that way, too, and it shows. Right now I do not work out, but I'd like to fit it back into my schedule. I was working out 3 times a week when I did Atklins before. My biggest challenges will be my constant cravings for sweets, eating right while at work, creating meals that work for me and for my family, and sticking with it pver the long haul. I am optimistic and funny and caring and supportive, and that's what I'm looking for, too. Anyone want to be my penpal?? Women with similar challenges preferred.

Hi Denver
Hi,
I too am starting Atkins for the second time. The first time I was on it was over 3 years ago and I lost 45 pounds. In Jan 2000 my husband had major surgery and staying home with him and fixing him the foods he needed to eat... well, I got off the diet, Lifestyle I should say, and gained back the 45 plus another 15. I'm miserable! I am 5'6" and weight 232 now. UGH! I tried Weight Watchers this past summer, but... my goodness, way too much counting and adding. Atkins was easy for me, but, I'm finding it a little harder this time to start. The main problem, work. The girls in my office are constantly going out for lunch and I can't say now. I'm thinking of taking no money with me then I Can't buy lunch... until I build up the willpower I had before. My downfall sounds the same as yours... chocolate, pasta and fruit. I never wanted an orange, apple or banana as badly as I do when you can't have them... lol When I was on the diet before, I did eat regular ice cream, 2 spoonfuls and my craving was satisfied, I'm hoping that holds true now. I found that Sugar Free Jello Chocolate pudding, made with Half and Half is WONDERFUL... and zip on the carbs... well... maybe 1 I forget... I know I ate that everynight while on it before. My goal is 150... really less, but I'll be happy just to be below 200 at this point. I'm 46 and right now my husband is hollering for me to come and eat our last of the potatoes...Atkins starts tomorrow. Email me at Kelsirish@yahoo.com and I'll be your pen pal if you want. Thanks and good luck Kels
