Need a shove, this is so hard!

Im starting Atkins Saturday morning and Im already scared Im going to fail! I tried it before and lasted 2 days. Im hoping I can find someone to chat with...someone who knows how difficult it is. My doctor has stressed how badly I need to lose plus Im tired of feeling so old at 30. My husbands advice "Stop eating so much" My goodness! I've never thought about that!!! LOL I have to do this, for myself and my family. I've felt like a failure for so long..but reading your posts and seeing the pictures on this forum, have made me feel like maybe I can do it. This is a very supportive site!

Yes, this is a great site! There is a lot of support here and I think that is the most important thing the support. I've lost 30 pounds and gained back ten over the holidays. I also quit smoking in October. I have been beating myself up about gaining the ten pounds back. I forget to look at the good things I've done.

There is also a thread in here called Queen Newbies January Challenge. I think our challenge for this month is not to cheat. There is a great bunch of people to talk to.

I am going back on induction starting Monday. The holidays were hard for me. I am bound and determined this time around.

I haven't yet had a successful day on induction. I keep trying but wind up eating nuts or something I know I shouldn't have. Today I had a low carb sandwich from Subway. It was great. I'm doing good for OGWL but not induction. Is it essential to start with induction?

I've been in the Induction phase of Atkins since I started it Oct. 6, 2003. I won't say that I haven't had days where I didn't have bread but those days have actually only been during the past week or so. That's way after the required 2 weeks. I have a lot to lose and seeing the pounds come off due to the diet and 5 mornings straight at the gym b4 work, is motivation to not make it a habit and stick with it. You've gotta see it this way, if you do the diet, lose, then stop and then go for like a month without it, you start to look back and think "had I stuck with it who knows how much further I'd be right now rather than where I am now?" I got tired of having to face that question over and over after starting a program, exercising, then stopping and going for weeks and months, maybe even years, before trying seriously again. Eventually you'll get tired of facing that question also and you'll see your new self at the "finish" line and really want to meet up with her/him and share a hug b4 letting the old you go.
