Need a Pen Pal..I'm 42/F/Ohio
Hi there!
This is my second day on the Atkins WOE, and I would like to find a pen pal who I can write to about our experiences and our journeys. I am 42, married, live in Ohio with my husband of 18 years and our four daughters, Amy (15), Ashley and Amanda (13), and Alyssa (9). I have been overweight for about 15 years now, since I gave birth to my oldest daughter. I am currently at 205 lbs, and would love to get to goal by December of 2004. (140) If there is any interested woman or man out there who would want to be my "buddy" I will promise to be the best friend I can to you. I'll be anxious to get some replies! I opened this post up and saw you responded...you are right, PIZZA SUCKS! I went over my carbs 20 extra grams yesterday, but am trying to do good today. I'm ragging it, so whenever I'm on that, I eat more, or something. I crave chocolate so bad......and I ate some sugarfree chocolates yesterday(thats why I went over 20 carbs).... Anyways, other than that I am doing good. I've been keeping busy painting my youngest daughters room a HOT PINK color...and boy is it pretty..we are putting big daisy flowers up too with purples oranges and yellows. Should be bright! My girlfriend just called, and my hubby is over there helping them with their computer, and she asked if I was at a good stoping point, if I wanted to come and eat pizza with them, I said, I can't eat pizza remember? She about died laughing but said she forgot. Oh well, pizza sucks anyways, right? Cya later ![]() |

Get this.... Just got home from Walmart...found this book...The South Beach Diet Good Fats Good Carbs Guide... Lists all the foods etc...awesome little book...and qite handy and compact!! There is listed in there a thin crust cheese only pizza... just dont overindulge and youll be fine.... I know we just started a "thin & delicious" pizza at the Hut... low in fat etc... Ill get the carb info and let you know.
My daughter would kill for a hot pink room...with cheeta accents of course!! Sounds like fun! Btw... its that time over here also...i know what youre feeling like... i get that chocolate craving thing also... I wonder if it subsides the more your body gets used to not having these items???? Stick with it kiddo... your friend will still be laughing when you're wearing your bathing suit...AND SHES NOT!! God Bless Luv Ya Lori ![]() |

HI all! I just wanted to add my "2 cents" worth. Hope you don't mind.
I'm 46 yrs young and a Mom of 2 living in "fabulous" Las Vegas! I have been low carbing for over a year now and LOVE IT! Support is essential to success I think. I have found great support and encouragement on this site! I also belong to a thread here called "Fabulous 40's" for anyone in their 40's. You are more than welcome to join us! We are a small group and are always looking for more! The more the merrier I say!Once you are past the 2 week induction period things get easier, your cravings disappear and you see the weight just falling off! It's great! Just don't fall into the trap I did over the holidays. I cheated BIG TIME and fell out of ketosis. My body went back to the old ways of the more carbs and sugar I ate, the more I wanted. Always a carb and sugar addict I guess. But, I am happy to say I AM back in ketosis and back on track and feeling great! So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't say "im just going to cheat this once" and think you can go right back. It's very hard. I found that out the hard way. Stay strong and tell yourselves that YOU are worth it!! Do it for YOURSELF, and NO one else! Exercise when you can and drink LOTS and LOTS of water. Be true to yourselves, and may God Bless you! Thanks for the info Lori...on that pizza from the hut...I take that is where you work? PH is one of my favorite places to eat...not any more of course
I appreciate the support Rita (Lowcarbforlife), and congrats on having lost so much on this WOE ...it motivates me to stick with it. I know I will let this thin body of mine to escape one of these days. I may check out the Fabulous 40's room soon! Take care, and have a lowcarb day! ANN ![]() |
