IN A LONG STALL...PLEASE HELP!!

I have been doing atkins for a little over a year...have lost 85 lbs. The past four months I have been on a plateu. I thought it may be due to the atkins bars...l/c ice cream etc. I went back on inducion a week ago...weighed myself this morning and lost nothing. I exersise at least 4-5 times a week going to Curves and doing The Firm at home. This past week I have been sticking to the "basic induction" foods. I dont know whats going on with me but I am discouraged and could use some advice or ideas. I am grateful for what I have lost but I would still like to lose about 20-30 more lbs. I try to stay positive and keep telling myself that at least I am not gaining...but its so hard. I do the ketosis stix too...and they are purple some days and no change the next. Any advice?

You are Doing Great!

Hi:

I saw your post and want to congratulate you on your weight loss. You should be very proud of yourself.

You are doing a great job with the exercise, but you have to remember, that muscle weighs more than fat. You also have to give your body a chance to adjust to the new weight that y ou are at.

As long as you know you are doing the correct things, don't sweat the small stuff. As long as you don't see the scale going in the opposite direction, you know that you are alright.

You have to remember that you did not gain all this weight in a year and it is going to take time for it to come off. The main thing is to forget the SCALE. Remember, that the Atkins, Protein Power, etc. are FAT LOSS diet, not so much weight loss diets.

How does your clothes feel on you? Have you measured yourself lately? As long as those things are going down, kick the scale to the curb and concentrate on how far you have come.

Have a great lowcarb day and keep up the good work. You should be coming into a swoosh soon. It all fails, try the meat fast for 2-3 days, then go back to the 20g of carbs.

Also, you might be eating more calories than you think. Remember, that now that you have lost that 100 lbs, you have to lower your caloric intake too.
