Pen-Pal Needed

Hi! I'm Kathy, a 47 yr. old single mom (3 Teens) with about 100 lbs. to lose.

I started Induction on 10/20/03 and need some support.

I really like these message boards but since I can't always get online every day sometimes I get "lost".

I think an e-mail (or even snail-mail) pal could be a big help.

I live in Western Washington state.

Any takers?

I'm starting Atkins for the second time but I'm really committed this time! I have one teenager and one soon to be teenager and I am smoke free for 22 days. The miraculous thing is that no one was hurt during this time! LOL

I am looking for a pen pal that is in the same boat I am and that I can exchange support with (and a recipe tasting partner so I can find the good ones twice as fast)!

but I guess I was just so excited to get a pen pal that I clicked it twice

Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to tell a little about myself and I hope you both (or ya'll if in the South lol) will do the same.

'Kay, here it goes......I'm 36 (soon a very young 37) yr old college student and mother of a son and daughter and two step sons. I have been married to a wonderful man for 4yrs now. Well, between the comfort of a good relationship, going back to school, AND quitting smoking I guess you can guess what that equation equals, huh? About 35lbs!!

But, I know what I did wrong the first time that I did Atkins. I only thought of it as a "diet" and not something to be lived for the rest of my life. Anyway, I realize now that BOTH of my parents have had heart attacks in their early 50's and diabetes on my mom's side, that I need to do all that I can do to avoid that road! I am also a firm believer in the fact that God put each of us here to be an encourager to each other because we can't go it alone and be successful.

So, I guess you can say that that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I look forward to hearing from both of you!

Oh, by the way I'm on my second day of induction and I know that the fourth is when my body goes through withdrawals so keep me in your thoughts on that day 'cause I may go postal!

I forgot to ask but I'm curious as to how ya'll will be handling
Thanksgiving. I thought about trying out my own low carb dressing to take with me to my mom's (she's one of those "Just take a taste of this" moms)

I'm interested in how each of you plan on handling the biggest eating holiday of the yr.
