Young mother of 2 boys final 10-15lbs to go!

I am almost mid 20s and have 2 boys, almost 2 and almost 3. I have a lot of stress in my life and no one to share my troubles and success with. DH works a lot and is usually not around much. I started atkins just over a yr ago and lost 45pounds. I still have my final 15 pounds to go. If you are interested in sharing and being there for someone who is bad at cheating lately and who also would like some support. I am here. I am a stay at home mom and sometimes babysit, so I am usually available all day. I could really use a friend who jumped off the band wagon of this wol and is trying to get back on.

Today started out good. waited a bit for breakfast...had
2 eggs,
2 slices of bacon (torn up in the eggs) and
1 chive cut up in the eggs.
1/2 bottle of strawberry water

I did sneek in 3 bbq chips (although I believe carb count is 14g for 12 chips).

I just bought some bulk turkey and ham and some cheese. I plan on getting a meat slicer this week, so I can enjoy some nice deli meat and cheese without the additives and extra price. I am excited and hope this will help me stay on track, after all...if I have meat and cheese slices around, I will have something to snack on.
I plan on documenting my food intake, so I can actually see what it is I am eating and how much.

Hello! Just read your post and it seems to me that we are in similar circumstances. I too am a stay at home mom to two children. Mine are a 14 year old (as of yesterday) boy and 2 and 3/4 year old...lol...girl. I started Atkins in August of last year and lost 70 lbs. I too have been cheating alot lately and want to get back on track again. My goal is to start Monday on induction for two weeks with absolutely no cheating! We can do it together. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Sounds like a plan!

I like the sounds of monday start. Unfortunately I fell into the whole trick or treat candy thing...luckily there wasn't too much, so no more cheating on that. My mother is coming down on Sunday and will also be starting over.
It's very nice to meet you lisa...Gosh, I think some people think it would be easier to stay on this WOE when staying at home, ie no fast food etc...but I find temptation at home very hard. I know that the low carbing is good for the whole family, but I am not going to deprive my DH and my boys of starches (which really is my hardest down fall)...Anyway, I will be busy today getting ready for my mom to come. If I could only get my boys to nap! My goodness, an almost 3 yr old...know the feeling. My oldest will be 3 in 3 1/2 weeks. We are finally on the slow half of the terrible 2s (which I think my sons could be the spokespersons for) lol....anyway, gotta run, hope to hear from you soon...maybe we can share recipie ideas...I will be prefecting my pumpkin bread muffins within the next couple days.

I think by having someone to share ideas, struggles and successes with, is extremely helpful. Talk to ya later,
Dani

We must be online at the same time. My aol screen names are CocaColaLady1968 and Lhai357976 and my yahoo i.d. is cocacolagirl_2000. I'm a Coca Cola collector by the way in case you were wondering about the screen names. Used to be quite a Coca Cola drinker too, but now I stick with the diet variety. I too have been pigging out on the Halloween candy. My 14 year old son is also on the diet...sort of. I know he doesn't stick to it at school, but at home I try keep him on low carbs. He went on it with me during summer break and lost about 30 lbs. He has gained some back since school started, but not all. My hubby could stand to lose a few pounds. He's a truck driver and is developing a trucker's belly from lack of activity. I make his lunches with low carb bread, but can't get him to give up the Mt. Dew. He despises diet soda. I do know what you mean though about not depriving the family of carbs. I do have snacks around for my two year old. She is a skinny minnie, born three months premature, so I can't deprive her. Your pumpkin muffins sound delicious. I'd love the recipe. I get alot of recipes from this site. Haven't tried to create any of my own. Well I guess I've sat here long enough. Better get up and do something productive. Bye for now.

Sorry about the delay

Lisa, it is so good to have someone to share things with. I did some major lc exploring yesterday...my mother moved in 2 days ago, so my life has been a bit hectic. I picked up some lc flour substitutes, some tortillas, some bread mixes etc. I also thought I would try a brownie mix. I did have a super find.
My mother and I once ran a chocolate factory, so my chocolate cravings are really hard to face. At trader joes, I found this dark chocolate bar that has no taste difference to regular dark chocolate. The whole bar, which is 2-3 times bigger than most lc bars, was under 1/2g net carbs. SUPER!! Anyway,
As for the fires, they came about 7 miles from my town...a small mountain town similar to Arrowhead and big bear, just hidden by more mtn ranges...this helps protect us from the fires. There are 2 big ski mtns in southern cal...big bear and us, wrightwood. scary to have so many fires...I went down the hill to San Bernardino, a hard hit town about 25 minutes from here....wow I couldn't believe the damage. The fire came right up to the apartments my husband and I lived in when we first were married. Well, that is over and done with.

As far as the scale, I am down today... YIPPEEE and I had chocolate yesterday! My mother will also be on the lc wol. She is doing it for her health...to try and keep herself from getting diabeties. She has about 100lbs to lose...I hope I can help her out. Like I said, I picked up some different lc products...we'll see how each passes the taste test and the function test. I am looking for subs so I can make some of my favs. I will put recipies on here as soon as they pass the test. My mom and I are both cooks, so we are interested in just making some of our fav recipies lc. I'll let you know how they come out. I hope you are doing well on induction again. I haven't been too strict, but have cut way back on the carbs I have been taking in lately.

I hope my delay in replying won't keep you from posting...things should be back to normal soon, when I can post regularly. Oh, thanks for adding me to your buddy list. I have dsl and am connected all the time. Feel free to im and see if I'm home, if I'm around the computer (in my living room), I will respond. Talk to ya soon,

Dani

Hi Dani!

Congrats on your weight loss! I am doing ok so far back on induction. Although I am not sure I should be eating the low carb ice cream and low carb candy while on induction. I found Atkins low carb butter pecan and chocolate peanut butter swirl ice cream at Wal-mart the other day and couldn't resist trying. I am also addicted to Russel Stover's low carb toffee squares. This diet is getting so much easier with all the new products they are coming out with.

My mom is also on the diet. She is diabetic. The last blood work she had drawn was in the normal range so it must be working for her. I think she has lost 30 lbs. so far. My neice and her mom and step dad also went on the diet. My neice has lost 25, her mom 50, and her step dad 60-65. This should make family get togethers easier.

Glad to hear you are missing the fires so far. Must be so scarey. My heart goes out to all those people that have lost their homes and memories.

Well it's late so I better wrap this up. Keep in touch when you can.

Lisa
