Just checking in to see how everyone is doing today. Darn scale said one pound up but I think it MUST be mistaken! Don't think I drank enough water yesterday.

I've had a velcro boy all morning. Neil thinks he must be attached to my body or he will die. Makes for a long morning but a little of the snuggling is nice. Logan couldn't have cared less as long as Elmo was on. And to think two years ago I didn't watch a single child's tv show.

Moriah if you find a good recipe for fudge please share it. I love chocolate and that's about the only thing I really want. Thinking about making the 3 minute Chocolate cake that someone posted.

bcarter glad that your tattoo didn't hurt too much. Thanks for starting our new thread.

sueshe glad that you are doing a little better. I don't think I would wait for Monday though. If it's still bothering you call your doctor. Why have a miserable weekend?

Better go accomplish something for the afternoon.

I know what you mean sueshe, it's hard to get the water down. I have a 32 oz cup with a straw (for some reason the straw helps) and I just take a gulp every few seconds. There are times it's so hard to not just go get something with some flavor like diet coke (my favorite) but water helps the weight come off.

I'm hoping to start exercising next week. I'm trying to let me body get use to the new WOE first.

I've been trying to look into the South Beach Diet, I'm going to buy the book tonight and see what it's all about. I heard it's pretty good and you get to eat allot more stuff than on Atkins. We'll see.

I am a diet coke addict..... I allow myself a 32oz diet coke every morning, then fill my cup back up with water at lunch and again before 3:00, which by the way I am going to do now before I go home, then try to again before dinner, but I can't always choke down that much..

There are people in our low carb challenge group that have been having a lot of success with Stillman's. I am going to stick with induction for a while, I know it works, I've done it before. My problem is I've never gotten past induction. I lost 50 lbs on it before, but go off and gained it back. The easy part I think is going to be the loss, the hard part is keeping it off this time....

That's exactly how I am. I lost 60 somethign pounds last time and then went off and gained. I was on induction the whole time before. I just can't seem to get past induction. I get scared. I want to lose fast but yes it is hard to keep it off after you lose it. It's so so so so hard!!

What is STillman's?

me too, and I don't drink coffee....so diet coke is my 'fix'

Stillman's is pretty restrictive...you can do a search on it and get all kinds of links. I know they are mostly eating fat free cottage cheese, meat with spices only, no cheese, no salads, don't know if really there are any veggies at all.. ??? I haven't checked into it really, but Amber has done quite well in our group so far!! She lost like 9 pounds the first week.... ANd Sherry has been trying for almost a year to get below 150, and now she is at 149....

bcarter...I just borrowed the South Beach diet book from the library and he does let you have more foods than Atkins but less fat. I'm really thinking that that's how I'm going to go. I like fruits too much to give them all up for a long time. I've never really gotten into cooking fatty meats so that switch isn't going to be hard. A friend has been doing it for several months but only needed to lose a few pounds. I think I am going to have to take it off more slowly to honestly keep it off. He does say that if you want dessert once in a while, order it, eat a bite or two and send it away. Same with just about anything else you have to have, eat a little and be done as long as it's not very often. I like the fact that you can eat whole wheat, not enriched, products which tasted a heck of a lot better than some of the extreme lc foods I've had lately.

Sueshe just picture a little curly headed blonde boy with big blue eyes attached to my body. That's my little velcro boy---who's waking up from his nap right now.

I don't think you can have any veggies on Stillman's from the little I've figured out. Not sure how that is too healthy for long term though maybe it's just a short term fix. Don't think that's for me.

I'm glad to read other people are scared to add foods back into their diet. Thought it was just me. South Beach you aren't supposed to do the strict part more than two/three weeks period I guess so you don't get like this.

Yeah I don't think Stillman's is for me....doesn't sound too good...

twins4me, I'm goign to read the book tonight and see. I agree about the lc foods, ick... you are right that could be the reason I get scared is your use to one thing and you would have to change. I don't do too well with change....

After I read the book tonight maybe if I want to you (twins4me) and I could start the SB diet if you'd like.

Wow! What a surprise! Hope everyone comes over!

Bcarter, before you and Sueshe came back, this thread was getting real slow, now I guess we are so chatty, they think we are pen pals! I was just going to lurk yesterday, but you all had me rolling in the aisle with all those color things! I had a few minutes, so wrote out a reply and was trying the tags and the next thing I know, I lost the whole thing. Now I can't remember what all those wonderful things were I was saying.

I hate water, my dh used to tell me to drink more. I told him that ice is made out of water and if I fill my 32 ounce container up with ice and then put pop in, I was drinking more water. Right? I have given up coffee and tea, mostly, but not giving up caffeine. Will just lose slowly.

Bcarter, for one time, I had your handsome man on my thread and then the next time it came up it was that X in the box that I can't get to bring up a picture.

Pacyyoung, Alimar, and Moriah. Okay, Moriah is the mother?, Pacyyoung is the dd, I forget what Alimar is except for Moriah's neighbor! I had a bunch of things I was going to reply to but can't refer back from here so may answer later.

Twins4me, where did you say you live? I love the velcro boy analogy. This too shall pass. Did you print off the 3 minute chocolate cake recipe? Do you know which thread you saw it on?

If I repeat myself I am sorry, but can't remember what I said before and too lazy to go back. What will they do with that old thread?

About Stevia, I think you have to get the NOS or FOS type. It supposedly tastes better. Because Splenda is made from sugar with the molecules changed so it doesn't absorb, it still is bad for yeast problems. I learned that Tuesday evening. I intend to try it if I get some good recipes.

If the laggers don't find us by a day or two, I will go email, but have activities tonight and have been gone all day!

Pokee, I really hope Fresh Fat Flees Fast because I had two more this AM. Nothing bad went down yesterday. I made it through a meeting and luncheon today with being legal except for a small small helping of real fruit ****tail. No desserts. Did you know that desserts is Stressed backwards? Bye!

so where abouts does everyone live? Does anyone live in Columbia or close to?

A while back I met up with two people from the boards that live in Columbia and we went out to eat and stuff. It was fun.

Alimar and Moriah are sisters who are next door neighbors. Read that this morning on the other thread.

I live in Joplin. THat large town where not much is going on right now.

Here's the Three Minute chocolate cake recipe:

1/4 C almond flour 2c
1 T Cocoa powder 1c
1/4 t baking powder 0c
5 packets Splenda 5c
2T melted butter
1T water
1 egg .6c
total 8.6 carbs

In a 2 cup Pyrex measuering cup blend all dry ingredients. Add water, melted butter, and egg. Mix thourghly. Cover with plastic wrap--put a small slit in center to vent. Microwave on high for a minute or so. It will look a bit wet but dries as it cools. Cool a bit and serve with whipped cream/ice cream. Serves 2/3

Someone suggested using liquid Splenda to cut carb count.

Have to run. Boys are awake and having way to much fun for it to be good.

twins4me, that cake sounds so yummy, but I know I would eat the entire cake....a little problem that I have. So how far is Joplin from Columbia, do you know?

sueshe, Wow so you are pretty far from me......I go to St. Louis often, maybe sometime we could meet up there.

bcarter-where do you live?

I go to St Louis about twice a year, usually either to shop or for a meeting. I'll probably go up around Christmas sometime, then won't go again until next Fall, I have a meeting next Sept at the Marriott by Busch Stadium.

So I guess I missed about a page on the old thread!

I now know the skinny on Moriah, Alimar, and Pacyoung. Now since they aren't here yet will email them. Will email Pokee and then see who is left next week if I have more time.

My Dr brother (ENT, Knudson) lives in Columbia and so do the adult dn and dn. They come up more than I go down.

Twins, I have all the ingredients so when dh gets home at end of week from CA will make it for us. That way, I might only eat half. Thanks so much. I remember us discussing Joplin, cause I think I told you I use to have a kid in my case load in Heartland.
