Hi all, I'm home sick again today -UGH! The worst part is I eat when I'm sick....to "settle" my stomach. I haven't been very good in the diet sense...I have eaten low carb food, but too much of it lately. I think the cake last weekend was my down fall. I am hoping to get my head back into this and start counting carbs again this weekend. Like I said I have eaten low carb stuff, I just think I am eating too much (hard to tell since I can't seem to be bothered to keep track of my carbs). Well I'm going to go lay down, Rita and Karen just looked lonely here...

Hello all,

Been a crazy week. The weekend has been really busy. Instead of spring cleaning I have been doing fall cleaning. I am having a yard sale next Friday, getting rid of all the junk. It was kinda cool, I found things I had forgotten I had.

I did a really bad thing. Some time back the Library called and said I had a book that was never returned. When they told me the title I said oh no I turned that book back in. Well while cleaning out the closet, in a box. Guess what I found, the book. With a due date back of 04/19/1999. Gosh I feel so bad. I am going to take the book back on Monday and beg for forgiveness. We have a great Library here, very forgiving. Never charge late fee's. I think I might even need to volunteer some hour's.

Well I hope everybody is ok. Not to many post lately. Staying cheat free and low carbs.

Best wishes to everyone

Hi all, I'm feeling a bit better today so it's back to work for me. I am still stuffy and queesy, but feel better than I did. I bought some size 12 jeans yesterday and slipped them right on...I was so excited! I buy alot of 12/14's (dresses, tops, elastic waist things like work out clothes), but never expected to wear a 12 in jeans!! I've decided to try adding yogurt back into my diet. I had done it awhile ago, but thought maybe that's why I wasn't losing (the real truth is I'd added too many other things...lol) so I stopped eating it. I really want to be at our goals for our 25th anniversary June 30th. We each have about 30 lbs to lose. well I need to get ready for work...I hope everyone had a good weekend and will be posting soon!

Good Afternoon Ladies.....

Well, the weekend is over and it is time for me to get serious again...lol All kidding aside, I am back on track as of this morning thank goodness. I was bad but not too awfully bad...

My Friday off from work was a day of hell. I broke a nail had it fixed then 5 hours later broke another one...got caught in the rain and just didn't have the day I was hoping to have I was rushed right down to the last 15 minutes! Next time I will just do things as they fall into place because planning was a joke...lol

Rita - I hope you had a nice b-day!! I had several drinks in your honor....lol

Diane - sorry you haven't been feeling very good but glad you are finally doing a little better.

Tami - Where are you? I sent you an e-mail at home.

Paula, Linda & Daria - I hope you are all doing well on your plan, better than I had been doing.

I won't be able to do a lot of posting but I will try to post at least in the mornings...work is getting really busy. Well, as I said I am back on plan and Ihipe to stick it out this time. I wish everyone loads of success. Hugs to all!

It's another Monday!

Hi all! Well, it is Monday again and time to start back on the low carb wagon. Yup, you guessed it, I cheated! BIG Time!!! Friday started out being a good day. Hubby took me shopping all day. Bless his soul!(He hates to shop, but knew that is what I wanted to do for me birthday) Anyways, I had a good low carb lunch of chicken on lettuce, cheese, salsa and sourcream. Walked ALOT but when we went out to dinner. I caved in!!! First I had a strawberry margarita (it was my birthday! LOL) then it went downhill after that. I could have kicked myself after I had cake and ice cream!! But, I got right back on track on Sunday and again today and feel in control! I guess sometimes you just have to cheat and then get back to eating low carb. (I'm not recommending this to anyone! )

Karen- Thanks for having a few drinks for me! I hope you still get a chance to post in the mornings! We would miss you otherwise! Thanks for the darling pet costume pics! They were soooo cute!!!

Diane- hope your feeling better. Thanks for posting even when you weren't feeling good. Karen and I were lonely! LOL Sounds like even though you went off and cheated that you are still doing great. Size 12 jeans!! Woohoo you go girl!!! Doesn't it feel good? I bought myself some size 12 jeans and a jean jacket, a shirt and some shoes when hubby and I went shopping. I love to buy clothes now, before I used to hate trying on clothes!

Tami- hope your doing good girl! We miss your posts!!!

Paula, Linda and Daria- happy low carbing to you too! Post soon, we miss you!

Hugs to you all, Rita

Good Morning.........

Well, let's see where do I start today.... I did good yesterday but the day got worse and I didn't do to good at dinner. We (my sweetie & me) went to Applebee's where I proceeded to have onion peels (you know battered and fried) then I ate 2 wings, no breading and 1/2 a caesar salad. My honey had chicken grande something and I ate the crucnhy pieces he left behind on a couple of them I am such a failure at this I swear. However, I am back on track again today and when I get home I will be hitting the treadmill for sure. Work is getting really stressful and that seems to always be where I fail "STRESS" I hear you ladies talking about getting into your size 12 clothes and just want to cry, I am still in a tight 18 (depending on the brand) If I could just stick to the plan and stop screwing up I know I could join you in your success. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy for all of your successes (sp) I just wish I could get there with you. Well, I apologize for whinning and sounding like a big complaining loser.

Tami - Girlfriend, where are you? I sure hope everythng is okay with you. I sure miss your posts.

Rita - You shouldn't be to hard on yourself about your birthday cheat, like you said, it was only 1 day and I truly believe that once in a while you need to do things like that just to keep you on track.

Diane - I hope you are feeling okay, I know what a bummer it is to feel bad. You hang in there and know that I have you in my prayers!

Paula, Linda & Daria - Where are you guys? I was really enjoying getting to know you. I hope you will return soon and start posting again.

Well, I have to get back to work. I wish you all a great day with lot's of success! ((((((((((((((((big hugs to all)))))))))))))))

Happy Tuesday!!

Good afternoon all! Well today is a good day. The sun is out and I am feeling good healthwise. Yahoo!!!

Karen- YOU ARE NOT A LOSER!!!! Don't ever feel that way!!! Somedays we just have to cheat once in awhile. My downfall is restaurants too! And stress!!!! so I know where your coming from!!! Try not to get so down on yourself. You WILL see size 12 by sticking to the plan. It may take a little longer, but it will happen. I have faith in you girl!!! I seem to be taking 2 steps forward and one step back lately! LOL I hope work starts getting a little less stressful for you soon too! Hang in there KK!

I hope everyone is doing well. Health wise and mental wise. Wishing everyone a great day and hope to see more posts from everyone soon! We miss you!!!

Hugs to you all, Rita

A big Oops!! LOL

Karen- I made a BIG Oops!!! You said you were a "failure" not a "loser" LOL of course you are NONE of them!!! I just didn't want you to get mad at me! hehe You are NOT a failure!!!! No one is a failure. WE are ALL human and humans tend to fall off track once in awhile. I for one, have fallen off that track many of times to get to where I am now, and I KNOW I will fall off many more times before I get to my goal! This is a lifetime journey and we are all in this together! Hugs to you my friend. Here is a big hug for you!(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((KAREN)))))))))))) ))))))) Love ya girl!!! Try not to work too hard and let life stress you out! Talk to ya later!!!!

(((Karen))))))))) It took me alot of up and down battles to get to this point...I am actually up 6 lbs from my lowest right now...last year at this time I was up 22 lbs from my lowest at that point...I have climbed up and down this ladder so much. Now, not to rub salt in those wounds I HAVE to brag...oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!!!! I am sitting here in my wedding gown!! LOLOLOL. I just had to try it on to see if it would fit...it's been 24 1/2 years since I wore it last....I can almost zip it!!!!!!!!! I think I will definetely be able to zip it soon. End of brag....just had to share it with my "friends"....keep your chins up....I've been working on this "project" since 1987 and I'm still not at goal...I didn't gain this over night and I'm certainley not losing over night. I've been 20 lbs from goal (about 10 years ago) and balooned back up to 130 lbs over goal.....it's a big battle, but we can do it together.

Happy October!!

Hi Ladies...

Well, I can't thank you ladies enough for all of the nice encouraging words. It really means a lot to me. I am really trying but it seems I just get bored eating MEAT all of the time it is difficult especially since I am not a veggie eater. As Rita is aware it really does limit the things that are legal. I am happy to say that out of the 8 pounds I packed on over the weekend I have lost 4 of them... I have decided to try and do things a little different while still exercising to see if that will help me stay on track better. I will still be doing low carb but in the afternoon at lunch I am going to try and add a small and I mean small amount of carb such as yellow rice or something like that so I don't get so bored. I am talking like maybe 2 tablespoonfuls with my meats. I realize the process of losing will be slower but I think it will work better for me and make it easier to stay on track. This doesn't mean I will do it everyday either, just once in a while so I don't feel like I am missing out on anything and for taste. Anyhow...I thought about this all day yesterday and figured I would give it a try and if it starts to back fire, I will surely stop!

Rita, Diane, Paula & Daria - Thank you for the great support, you guys are the best. You made me feel good again and not like a failure (and I wasn't offended Rita by the mix up) I know you love me.

Has anyone heard from Tami? I sure do miss her and it isn't like her not to e-mail me, especially if she was going away or something....

Tami & Linda if you are out there....I (we) miss you bunches!!!! Come back when you can.

Well, I better get back to work. I wish everyone a super day and Thanks again!

HI!!!!

Good afternoon all! So glad to see more postings from everyone!

Karen-so glad you didn't take what I had said wrong! I agree with everyone. We are in this together and it is a journey we will all take. All we can do is take one day at a time. Yes, I agree too that being a "veggie hater" does limit the things we can eat. Your new plan might work for you and not for everyone. They say stick to brown rice and whole wheat. They are "good" carbs versus white bread and white rice. That is sort of the South Beach diet plan. I may just start that too and see if it works for me. I do miss bread!

Thanks to you all for the birthday greetings!

Diane- Woohooo You brag all you want girl!! That is awesome that you put on your wedding dress! Funny thing is, I'd be swimming in my wedding dress I wore 17 yrs ago. I was at my highest weight then. Never want to go back there!!!

Daria and Paula- so glad your back! Good luck on your yard sale Paula! Daria, so glad that exercise has become second nature! It has for me too. I feel "guilty" if I don't get some kind of exercise in each day. Even if it's dancing to the radio! LOL

Tami- hurry back girl! We miss you!!!!

Have a great day friends! Hugs, Rita

Good Morning Ladies....

As I am sure you can see, I am now a "Proud member of the 20lb club" yeehaw!!!!!!!!! So far so good, I ate a 6" tuna sub on wheat with a bag of chips for lunch yesterday then when I went home I jumped on the treadmill and low and behold...when I got on the scale this morning I had lost another 2 lbs. I am going to try this new way and see how it works for me...I will not let it get out of hand though. If I start to gain I will be making the necessqry adjustments.

Rita - You say you miss eating bread, have you tried the "Lifestyle" bread? I buy it at the health food store and it only has 4 carbs per slice and is yummy!! It makes a great grilled cheese sandwich! If you can't find it in the stores, you can order it on line www.lifestylebread.com I need to buy the ingredients to make the coleslaw soon, I really like good coleslaw. I imagine you are adjusting to the new house quite nicely....lol how about the kids, are they loving it any better yet?

Diane - I think it is fantastic about you getting into your wedding dress! maybe someday I will get into my first one....lol Keep up the good work.

Paula & Daria - I love to read your posts, keep them coming and keep up the good work.

Tami - Oh where oh where has my friend Tami gone, Oh where oh where can she be?? Missing you girlfriend. I hope you post soon!

Well, it is back to work for me. I will try to check back in later. Meanwhile keep on posting ladies!

Morning all!

Hi everyone! Well, I did bad yesterday. I have been craving a Sonic burger and shake, and I gave into my craving!! Grrrrr. It tastes so good while I'm eating it, but then I feel guilty afterwards. Seems like I can't go a week lately without cheating!

Karen- I buy the Atkins yeast bread mix and make it myself and it's pretty good. I'll have to look for the lifestyle bread. Thanks for the tip. I did find some yummy low carb tortillas from LaTortilla factory. Only 3 carbs per tortilla. Congrats on the 20 lbs. too, that's awesome!!!!

Hope everyone is doing better than I am. LOL I just need to focus on my goal again and get down to business!!!!

Hugs to you all, Rita

I can be such a ditz! LOL

Karen- I forgot to answer your question about the kids liking the house better. Well, they seem to be adjusting better. I know they miss their old friends though. My son is making new ones at school and in the neighborhood, but my daughter isn't. She is very shy and it is hard for her to make friends. I haven't seen any girls her age (15) around here, and the ones she said she talks to in some of her classes live far away. Hopefully she will find someone soon.
I love the house! The women that live around here seem very nice, but they are younger than I and have small kids, so we really don't have much in common. They like to sit outside (in this heat! LOL) and gab but I'm not really into that. I'm going to go out and look for a job. Just don't know what it will be yet. I'll keep ya posted! Thanks for asking about the kids and all! take care and don't work too hard! Rita
