Hi Jen!

Thanks for writing back! It sounds like you are off to a great start! I am actually looking to maintain my current weight now that I lost 10 pounds. I have been a lifetime dieter so my weight has never been to out of hand. I also spend a lot of time exercising, so I work hard to maintain my weight. Before Atkins though, I had to practically starve myself just to maintain my weight. I had terrible cravings, mood swings, and feelings of eating out of control. I feel so much better now. If you saw me, you wouldn't think weight has ever been an issue for me but it has ben an issue my whole life. As a teenager, I didn't wear shorts some summers, and avoided trips to the beach to avoid wearing a bathing suit in public. Finally, at age 36, after 3 children, I am comfortable in my own body. I exercise too much though, and still overeat a little when I am stresses or depresses or lonely...I want to work on that so I can cut down on my exercise. Are you a happy person at this time in your life? I know peopole in Nassau county (belmore, Merrick...) Sandy

Sandy,

I spend most of my life near or at my ideal weight. Then I met my DH and we started eating out alot, going away and he is a fantastic cook - not to mention, I got lazy and stopped working out. Then I had my DD in October and never lost any of the baby weight and managed to gain 10 lbs on top of that since then.

I'm totally happy with my life. The only thing I'm not happy about is my weight at this point. Other than that, I'm really lucky.

I live very close to Bellmore. I'm in Levittown.

What type of excercise do you enjoy? I really like walking, working out with light weights and TaeBo. How do you find time to work out with 3 kids? I can't seem to find the time with 1!!

Jen

Hi Jen!

Hi Jen! Thanks for writing back! Don't be too hard on yourself! Your daughter is less than 1. Not only has your body been through so much, but it is hard to find a minute for yourself with a baby in the house. My youngest is 5 (girl), and I have a 7 yr. old boy,and a tem year old boy. They play together, watch videos, etc...so I can workout while they entertain themselves. Do you stay home with your daughter? I had a tough day today. I was in a car accident. Luckily.....everyone is fine. I am sooooo thankful! Unfortunately, my car needs a lot of work! After that accident, I ate twice as much for dinner, and dessert on top of that! I usually do worse under stress! Write soon! Sandy

Hello

I've been reading your posts. followed it here from the other thread! I hope you don't mind?

I am also a mom of three kids.. I started Atkins just this week..
I live in California. Would like to lose at least 25 to start!
I work part time ( off for the summer) teaching home-schoolers..

I find the program pretty simple so far, dinner seems to be my big challenge. Trying to mix my low carbs with the family dinner...
I am going to start freezing some low carb dinners.. that way I always have something I can eat..

Take care.
Mia

Hi Mia!

Mia, it was good to hear from you! Jen, where are you? Hope you are doing well! It sounds like you are doing a good job Mia! I would love to correspond with you too! I am holding at minus 9-10...which I am very happy about! I am at my goal weight now but I have other goals to work on now....Dinner time is tough but in a way its easier to know that certain foods are "off limits." I have a new favorite dinner...it's light and pretty LC. I buy "The Tortilla Factory" whole wheat tortillas...3 net carbs each...melt a little cheddar cheese on it, add some our cream, scallions, tomato etc...its really good, filling etc..I also buy RobbinsNest Bakery cake rolls in the Nutrition stores. They have a little after taste, but if you cut a slice off the cake roll, and add a little whipped cream...it makes a great dessert for like 3 net carbs. The cakes re also no fat, and low calorie. Please share any meal or dessert ideas with me! My family is going away on Monday next week. I hope I can get the foods I want there. Its easier to have a kitchen stocked with your favorites! Be in touch! How old are your children? Sandy
