HI my name is Trina and I"m 43 years old. I'm just now starting Atkin's and am in my induction and plan to stay there for a bit since I would like to lose about 65 to 70 lbs. I'm currently 215 right now. I've just steadily put on the pounds since I was pg with my first child 23 years ago and have gained 30 since my daughter was born 5 years ago. I've lost and gained so many times as I have not been able to maintain any at all with Jenny Craig and Nutri-system and I did do body for life and lost 19lbs and lots of inches but it just wasn't for me at this weight.
Obesity runs rampant in my family especailly amoung the women. My mom, her mom and sister and aunt all had the stomach surgery and lost mass but most have gained it all plus some back. My mom even had her jaw wired shut. I promised myself I would never get to that point but am slowly heading there if I choose not to do nothing. WELL, I made a choice and decided that Atkin's sounded like a good deal and it would be something that I could easily make a lifetime change with. I would love to have a penpal to yak at and help support and teach me at the same time. I'm going to try to get the book soon so I can learn more but in the mean time I'm researching the heck out of it online.
I guess I'm just wanting to make sure I'm doing this right is all. Thanks!
