Wanted - UK - Penpals - Diet Buddies PLEASE
Since I have been surfing the net for various interests and projects, I have made some wonderful new friends, especially "Across the pond" - HOWEVER, since beginning the "ATKINS" diet in June - (losing 2 stone and still cooking with gas!) I am looking for other folks in ENGLAND who buy British food stuffs, so we can swop idea s on what to eat and what not.
As there are a lot of named brands of foods which we do not have in England, and I am looking for the alternatives. I am fifty_something and still work, have lots of other interests as well as dieting, I have two daughters and a wonderful Grandson aged 3. And would like to hear from any one out there who is on this diet, for fear banging on about this diet and driving all my friends and family nuts. ![]() |

Hi Fluffy,
I'm 34, married, no children and live in Cheshire. I started Atkins 29/06/03, my aim is to lose 28lbs. Well done on losing 2st!!!! How much more would you like to lose? I'm finding it relatively easy, but do miss not having my caffeine . I'm quite boring with my menus, but have stayed on induction because of working shifts, have finished nights this morning, so shall advance to OWL from Monday.Feel free to PM or mail me, but i'm no expert ![]() |

English foods
Hello Fluffy.
I too started Atkins in June but had a holiday in July so had to start induction again. Ive lost 10lbs, a bit slow at first but seems to be speeding up now. I sometimes struggle finding interesting meals and was wondering if we were allowed the new Birds Eye microwave veggies? I have been using these for my main meal, they only take three mins in the microwave and I have them with chicken, steak etc. the cauli, carrot & green bean variety have only 6gms of carb so they must be ok! I hope so as I work shifts as a nurse and find them practical. What are you eating for breakfast? Im getting fed up with eggs!! Marie |

Hi fluffy: a few familiar names here but I normally have a bit of time on my hands so feel free to email me if you wish. I am in the same boat as marie but without the matching weight loss. I'm finding it hard to get back on since my holiday and am constantly searching for something "tasty". I'm to be found on
scottishflower2000@yahoo.com thats thrown open to all btw ![]() |

hiya
hiya!!
i started atkins this july- although i have restarted twice - this time for good. i think it would do me good to have penpals to help and push me along. as for food.... for breakfast i have bacon or eggs... its really hard in uk because we cant get the atkins baking flour so cant make atkins bread for breakfast... other foods i have tried is sausages but that is about it really. for sweets you can get sugarfree jelly crystals which i think are equivalent to the jell-o they have in the us and are virtually carb free. luckily i am a cheese lover so they make great snacks. for dinner and lunch i have chicken or fish and sometimes lamb steaks. what do you guys do when you have carb cravings?? please feel free to email me: panda_xo_2000@hotmail.com Cecy |
