induction

Hi Charlie---seems you need a reply. I am a newbie also so do
not know how much I can help though I have lost 13 lbs. in the
first two weeks. I strongly recommend the Atkins books,(I
bought three plus a carb counter, and a daily log book). Do you
have any of the books? They give you mucho info. Good luck!

Hi Charlie. My name is Danny and I've been on Adkins now for about 9 weeks. During induction I lost 15 lbs. and have only lost 5 since, but it has been a good slow loss which is healthy. As far as chicken goes, there are TONS of recipes free on the internet. Just do a search on LOW CARB RECIPES. Most all sites have multiple chicken recipes, most of which are very good.

I have not counted carbs since the beginning, but have watched my portions and not cheated. Also DRINK LOTS OF WATER. I drink about 100 oz (roughly 3L) per day. Best amount for you will depend upon your present weight (I weigh about 200 lbs.).

You DO need to read all you can, whether in books or on the internet.

Hardest part for me has been cooking for myself most of the time while my wife and kids eat fries and brownies (last night). So far, however, I've had the willpower to stay with it - mostly by finding other satisfying desserts or snacks to eat.

I'm now trying to start running to make weight loss faster.

Hope induction goes well!

WOE: Atkins
Start Date: June 2003
Charlie...I have been on Atkins twice and it works great. I agree with the post about getting the book(s)...info about the WOE/WOL (not diet..hate that word) is very important. This web page has some great recipes for chicken. You can get all the support and questions answered on this page....people are great!!! Happy Lowcarbing.
