Penpal wanted for moral support!

Hello I have been on the Atkins Diet now for 1 month. I have only lost 13 lbs & 1 1/2 inches off my waist. I have become a little discouraged with a stall I've been in for almost 2 weeks now. Started back on the Induction today hopefully that will put me back on track. I have 175lbs to lose & need the moral support. I would like someone to correspond with that has about the same as me to lose or someone that has already lost about the same amount. Please lets help each other through this battle that we have ahead of us because as far as I can tell this diet is the way to fight this battle. Hope to hear from someone soon. Sherri

Good job to you & your Mom Terra. My Mom is on this also & has lost 8 lbs so far. It is a long & hard struggle. Took me 16 years to gain all the weight sure hope it takes less time to take it off. Thanks for the reply. Sherri

HI HI

YOUR DOING GREAT!! I LOST a hundred pounds on this diet last year and hit many stalls along the way...i was eating to much cheese at one point and that put me off track ..and I quickly learned during another stall that the proper intake is vital ..and if your not drinking enough water it can create a stall...hang in there hon it really does work and if you need someone to write to for some support I will be here for ya...keep it up, and dont give up..if i can do it than trust me anyone can!!!!!
much hugs
kelly

Water intake.

Do you have any suggestions for increasing your water intake? I am not much of a water drinker and find it really difficult to get the 8 glasses a day. Help!

sherri berri

You seem to be doing good so far. I also have a hard time with drinking 8 glasses of water a day. I don't even like the taste. I drink a lot of decaf tea. I have been on the diet off and on for 2 years but just got serious this week. I'm sticking with it. I lost 5 lbs. the first week. I don't care if it comes off slow as long as it doesnt go on. I need to loose 40 more lbs. and I get depressed because it's not coming off fast enough. Having you people to talk to really helps in the support category. thanks so much. Keep your chin up. You can do it. Do you walk any or exercise? Hope to hear fdrom you soon.

Hi all... I am almost 36 and have spent those years as a "fat chick" so I am hoping that soon I will be a somewhat "thinner chick!" I have been making bathroom runs almost too frequently and my sheltie puppy has learned that when it looks like Mom is on the run to the bathroom to clear out of the way fast !! My 12 year old step-daughter was worried the other day when it was 6 visits within 2 hours !! "That low-carb diet again ?" she asked! DH was on the WOE for about 2 weeks but got extremely discouraged so who knows what he has decided to do about it. I am diabetic and have about 85 lbs to lose and would LOVE to find some people with new ideas and outlooks... Good luck everyone~

Finally!!!!!!!

FINALLY! I passed my stall......3 weeks since my last post & I have lost a total of 25 lbs & 16.75 inches off my body. 3 inches off my stomach & 4.5 inches off my hips. Today I wore a pair of jean shorts that I can't remember when I could put on without laying down & struggling to get the zipper up & we all know how uncomfortable that is when we finally get them on & try to breathe. I put them on & zipped them right up while standing on my feet. I was beginning to think it wasn't gonna happen, but I am so glad I didn't get discouraged & stuck to the plan. The stall I had lasted about 3.5 weeks & scared me to death. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I stuck with it & am still basically on the induction with a few extra treats added but mostly induction. The only thing different I did do come to think of it was drink my 8 - 8 oz glasses of water PLUS an extra 8 oz for every 25 lbs I have to lose. For me that is a minimum of 120 oz of water a day! It was the hardest thing to get used to on the plan but now it seems like the easiest thing to do. I can't believe it was such a struggle to begin with. That is fine with me though if I'm losing. I'm not gonna change a thing. I just wanted to share my GOOD news & Thank You All Again For Your Support! I COULDN"T have done it without you! Sherri
