Question about homemade chicken broth
I have decided to try to make my own chicken broth because from what I have noticed all of the store brands have sugar in them and other additives and such... When making the homemade broth is there a way to make it fat free? When skimming the fat would that take away all the fat content of the recipe will it be low in calories like the store bought brands? I want a broth that is low calorie but with no sugar or starches or anything of that nature... is there any brands I can buy that do not contain this? Thank you!~*

Go ahead and throw in bones and everything. While cooking skim the scum off the top. After it's cooked as long as you like, strain the broth and put in the fridge. The fat will rise to the top and harden and you can just scoop it off. The broth, if you put bones in it will be like jelly but it will melt when you heat it up. That's the good stuff!! You want it to be like jelly.
