Russian Tea Recipe (0 Carbs)

I was thinking about an instant hot tea mix that was around in the 70s, Russian Tea. I thought "If I make it with sugar free ingredients, it will be 0 carbs, so I did, and it is wonderful.

2/3 cup instant tea
2 packages sugar-free instant orange breakfast drink
1 package sugar-free instant lemonade
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves

Mix together, and add 2-3 heaping teaspoons to an 8 oz. cup of hot water. Yum!

I made mine with instant peach iced tea - otherwise pretty similar to your ingredients. I really like it on these cold evenings.

what brand of orange breakfast drink do you use?

DixieMoon - I used the WalMart brand. It comes in the same type of container as Crystal Lite. After making a couple of cups of this, I think I want to revise it to read 1 cup of instant tea, and 1-2 heaping teaspoons to an 8-oz. cup of hot water. It truly does feel like you are cheating, when you drink this. It is so rich.

Carol is it the Eary-Rise Orange. If it is , It'll make a great orange julius protein drink. YUM!!!

I wish they'd make that flavor in kool-aid.

Yes, that's what it is called. An orange julius would be great made out of that. Great idea.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to stay away from aspartame. Wish they would make their powdered drinks with splenda or no sweetner at all. That way we could just add splenda or whatever.

I think I'll try orange Kool-aid and add my sweetner.

I use the orange kool-aid. My sister uses the one with aspartame. I can't , but I was really into diet soda. Not any more.

I'd like to try this with Kool Aid. How much for orange breakfast drink? 2 packs like original recipe with orange breakfast drink?
Also, thinking about using lemonade Kool-Aid also.

What do you think? I like using my own sweetener also.

Oh my, I used to love this stuff with Tang. There used to be sf tang, but haven't seen it for a while

Julie I haven't seen surgar free tang in years. My sister says that early rise( from walmart) taste like s/f tang.
