I dusted my hands with oat fiber and also dusted the plate with oat fiber as mine were pretty sticky. I think if you like carbquick you could use that as well.
I was thinking about buying some biquick to use just a little bit in these for some flavor. I'm wondering if I could add 1 tbsp of bisquick to the mix, which would add about 5 carbs to the whole recipe. I just miss the taste of real dumplings. lol |

and the gnocchi would be "Sons of Flubber" ![]() I never saw either of those movies. LOL I think the CQ or BQ ideas would work or perhaps oat flour for those avoiding wheat. That might give you the flour flavor you're looking for. "When I run out in 2044, I will buy the other brand".......you cracked me up Buffy. Last edited by buttoni; 01-16-2013 at 02:48 PM.. |

Sooooo.............I went to buy the ingredients to make these. How come I bought Psyllium Husks instead of Oat Fiber? I knew I was going to do that. I could have swore there was a recipe that I needed PH for? Dang it.

Thanks guys. It WAS for Ouizoids Tortillas lol. I remember now because she said she used the husks, not the powder, so I spent 10 minutes looking at the bottles of husks and powder.
Ok now I need Oat Fiber for these darn dumplings! |

I wonder if you could use this for something sweet, like a cobbler. My favorite part of a peach cobbler (in my hc days) was the gooey dough inside the cobbler that had absorbed the peach juices and cinnamon.

I don't think so, Yougottaeat. Because I don't think the top of the cobbler would ever brown. Try my cobbler recipe instead and you'll be happier: Blackberry Cobbler

Do you think I could sub Quizoid's fantastic flour mix for the carbquick in your recipe Buttoni? I'm no longer eating wheat. Your cobbler looks wonderful!

Thanks, Gina, you beat me to it. I DO think Ouiz's mix might do OK in my recipe.

I think they are saying that Misti because once you get it you will use it. And love the product. It does so many things. I've been reading it for a while. I ordered the big bag for that reason. And the oat fiber.
I'm trying to wait patiently. |

Peggy! I made your dumplings tonight and they rock! My non-low carbing DH even liked them! Thanks for your great recipe. That's the first time I've had dumplings in 3 years.
I used the NOW brand of gluc by the way, and they tasted just fine. |

I'm so glad they came out for you! My non-LC hubby liked them, too. And thanks for letting us know they worked well with the NOW brand of gluc. Good to know.

Oh, good, I'm glad more people are having some success with these now. I'm starting to get positive feedback from readers on my website on these now, too.

I just made them with in a small frying pan with a lid and some chicken broth from my
crockpot..Wonderful... I Pammed my one inch cookie scoop and it was fast and easy. For my real dinner, I took out some of the broth and will use it in place of the water..Of course, put it in the fridge. I am using my electric skillet tonight with a lid.. |

Wonderful, Carolyn. Another successful venture. So glad they worked for you. I made a beef vegetable soup today for lunch with some leftover stewed beef and put some wee dumplings in it. I made a half recipe and dropped a few tiny ones with a demi-tasse spoon into the liquid and simmered 'til done. The soup was GREAT with them!
