Low-carb "cereal"?
I'm not a big breakfast person and sometimes I can't face bacon and egg.
![]() I've started making my own low carb "cereal"! ![]() It's hazelnuts, pecans, flaked almonds, a spoon of almond butter, flax meal, sugarfree chocolate chips and a few (7 max) blueberries, with almond milk. It's amazingly like cereal! I'm not doing induction or a strict plan. Does anyone else eat something similar? Any suggestions for tweaks? |

I use a mixture of any of the following:
Coconut flour Almond flour Ground flax ( always use this for base) Heavy cream Vanilla essence Coconut oil Stevia/xylitol Milk I then microwave for a minute or two (just to warm it not cook it) and find it is an adequate and filling substitute for a porridge type breakfast and with plenty of healthy fats it fills you up ![]() Oops I just realised I need to adjust my stats (upwards by 4lb :-( ) after a blowout over the holidays Last edited by Thefram4; 01-03-2013 at 05:10 AM.. Might consider hemp seeds in the mix, too. They're nutritionally dense, very high in fat, and I've seen them in our local Costco.
I've made "cookies" and "meal bars" from mixtures not too different from what you're using. |
