Salad in a Jar
I've never tried this until today and I just wanted to share it in case you've never heard of it! I put sliced roma tomatoes and green onions in the bottom layer. Baby spinach and butter crunch lettuce in the middle and feta and cheddar cheese and bacon on the top layer of mine! It was wonderful and the greens stayed nice and dry until I poured it on the plate at lunch!

Were the greens still crispy? That's what I always hated about taking a salad to work, it was always slimy or just not right by lunch time.

I pack mine in a bag in a cooler, same thing. The dressing stays on the bottom until I turn it out on a plate, it works great. No soggy greens when you put pepper or cucumber in a layer above the dressing and your greens/mushrooms/cheese on top.

Tina, the greens were very crisp and dry! I've been reading about it but never tried it until today. Actually, I made 3. They are suppose to last all week. I hope it works out like that because all I have to do is grab and go for lunch and not drag out all of that salad fixing stuff again! I'll keep you posted!

Leisha.
I was wondering where the dressing was? Do you dress it after it's on the plate? thanks |

Would not have a problem with salad stuff unless it has dressing on it already? If it's on the bottom and stays there until you pour it out, that's awesome!

All of the instructions said to put the dressing in the bottom with the heavy, wet stuff. I put mine in a snack bag and snipped the end off and dressed it on the plate. I just checked out the other two in the refrigerator and they look great! It will be so nice to only have to make salads once, instead of every day!
