That's one of the flavours I have from King Arthur Flour, I believe. It's a sort of blend of buttery vanilla and citrus, very nice. Rather like the Fiori di Sicilia, which is my favorite. (That one isn't Lorann.) I use both. They give baked goods that really lovely note that really good bakery-baked treats have, the quality bakeries.

I love the "buttery sweet dough" baking emulsion flavor and tend to add it to pretty much everything baked these days. It's fantastic in almond thins--gives them that rich flavor of commercially made crackers and reduces the ridiculous amounts of butter flavor I have been known to add.
Can't remember who it was on this board that posted about this flavor--but if you're reading this thread, THANK YOU!! Kelly |

I have that one, too! I'll have to try it in the almond crackers, which were a big hit here with us even without the added flavouring -- I can imagine how great they'll be with some in there. Thanks for the idea!

I use the Capella drops mostly for my whey protein shakes. My favorites are New York Cheesecake and Graham Cracker, used in my Strawberry Cheesecake Shake, and banana flavor. I also add 4-5 drops banana flavor to my hubby's MIM - makes it taste like banana bread.

I haven't found any Capella flavoring that I've liked very much and I think they are a bit weak compared to the strength of Lorann's Oils. I use an eye dropper to add Lorann flavoring because they are really strong and can taste bad if you overdo it which is pretty easy.
I agree with the poster above about the Buttery Sweet Dough emulsion, that is one of my favorites and I use it a lot, just recently I added it to some almond flour waffles and they were great. I've bought a number of the Lorann bakery emulsions but haven't had a chance to use them all, I just recently bought the Red Velvet Cake emulsion to try. Another of my favorite flavorings if the Superior Flavors, so far I've liked all the ones I've tried. You can order a ten-pack of them (they're big bottles) from a country store website that sells fishing and hunting stuff and the price runs around $5.20 a bottle so every once in a while I order a ten-pack to add to my collection. I'e also used the McCormick brand which is pretty good and also some Watkins. Both of those are available at Wal-Mart. The McCormick strawberry if another I use pretty often but I just recently ordered the Superior Flavors strawberry to try. Last edited by PaminKY; 11-05-2012 at 08:28 AM.. |
