SF Maple Syrup
Hi
While I find most of Walden Farms products not to my liking, their maple syrup is AWESOME! but so expensive. Their blueberry and strawberry are pretty good, too. I've tried making my own syrup but it always tastes a bit funky. Has anyone had success? I'm most interested in maple, but berry versions are certainly appreciated, as well. Thanks! BTW I know other lc brands are out there, but I want nearly zero calorie ![]() |

I just bought a bottle of Walden Farms, and I was planning on opening it for the first time, so I'm glad to hear that it's awesome.

I hate all Walden Farms products - EXCEPT the pancake syrup, which is amazingly very good stuff! I'm not sure why I even bought it, when I've thrown out every other thing I've bought from them - but was glad I did once I tried it.

personally I just sweeten and flavor whatever I would normally put syrup on and forget the syrup, most times. I don't find the low carb products have that great a texture, really. It's just soaking whatever you are eating in sweetened flavored water, which hardly improves it! LOL

I am the same as Char, I pretty much hate all the Walden Farms stuff, but I LOVE the pancake syrup. It is a little expensive, but it is really good and I don't buy that many products, so I am ok with the splurge. It is the best of the SF syurps I have tasted - like Raven said, the rest just kind of taste like sweetend flavored water.

I appreciate the feedback, but I was hoping for a recipe for making my own syrup from scratch.....
On a side note: I haven't purchased their berry syrups in years, but when I did no colorings were listed on the label, yet the products are SUPER pigmented. Hmmm, kinda makes you wonder about their honesty in labeling. But the maple syrup is so darn good! Recipe anyone? |
