Sucralose to Go... Liquid Splenda
I found this at Walmart today. It is with the sugar, etc. 1.68 oz is equal to 100 packets f Splenda. I am happy there is finally a liquid splenda available in stores. No carbs or fillers.

By the way, that's the same concentration as Sweetzfree and EZ-Sweetz (1 drop = 2 teaspoons). And, it says that it's in stock at the store where I shop.

Oops! That's half the concentration of EZ-Sweetz. I was thinking they said a drop equaled a packet of sweetener but it's only 1 teaspoon per drop, not two.

EZsweetz is all the same now, the large bottle is as concentrated as the small ones.

I went to Walmart today. There are 3 different containers. Sucralose to go. Stevia to go. Monk fruit to go ( I've no idea what this is). They are 2.98.

If I did the math correctly, here is a comparison of how the price of the Nevella sweetener compares with an approximately equal number of servings (drops) of Sweetzfree and EZ-Sweetz:
Nevella: $2.98 Sweetzfree: $1.77 (includes shipping) EZ-Sweetz: $1.24 (plus shipping) |

Thanks for the comparison, Linda. I was trying to do it, but I got so confused about how many drops equaled how many packets, and how many drops were in a bottle. I thought it might be cheaper at Walmart, but I can see that I was mistaken.

I was at Walmart today and they had all three of those products. One thing that I noticed is that it says that a "squeeze/squirt" equals 1 teaspoon of sugar, not a "drop". That means that you're not likely to get a precise amount out of the bottle and probably won't get nearly as many servings as they claim. Also, the Monkfruit one was $4.98 and it only has 80 servings per bottle vs. 200 servings for the Sucralose ($2.98). The Stevia bottle was $3.78 and you get 160 servings. I passed on all three because they're pretty expensive. I suppose that they're nice for people who don't like to order online and it's great that there is now an option to buy liquid Splenda in a store. It's about time.
Kroger doesn't sell those but I noticed today that they've got their own brand of Truvia in a jar. It's $5.29 vs. $6.49 for real Truvia in a jar. Kroger also has a new product from the Splenda company called Nectresse. It claims to be monkfruit but it's mostly erythritol. And, get this, it also has sugar and molasses in it. What are they thinking??? I guess they're hoping that people won't bother to read the label before buying it. |

I was excited, then confused when I discovered these products at my local Super Wal Mart. First of all, a "squeeze?" What's that about? The Hulk and a little old lady's squeezes are going to be vastly different. And monkfruit, what the heck is that? I bought a bottle of all 3 just to see if they were any good. The food companies are very sneaky, so it pays you to do the math on cost as well as look at the ingredients carefully. I wish they would just sell regular old EZ sweetz in the bottle that dispenses by the drop. The only thing I've found is a liquid made with sachharin (sp). No thanks! My aunt used to use sacchrin tablets 10,000 years ago and I thought they outlawed it cuz it was unsafe, but I guess not.

Just how many drops are in a "squeeze"? Anyone know, LOL??? I once bought some of that MiO stuff that's in the same sort of squeeze bottle. I took it back to the store for a refund after I discovered that you'd have to squeeze half the bottle into your glass to get any flavor. I have a feeling it might be the same with those sweeteners.

I give my strawberry watermelon a good "three Mississippi" long squeeze in my 16.9oz water bottle. It's super handy to take to restaurants because I don't like caffeine, plus it saves me about 3 dollars that they would charge me for a diet coke or Sprite zero. Try to find it on sale or get a coupon. I saw it for 2.99 a bottle the other day. I LOVE my Mio!!! |

I bought some of this today and I'm not at all impressed.
I can definitely taste what I think is the preservatives, where I don't notice it so much with EZ-Sweetz. Edited to add: I tried it again and I think the malic acid is what's coming through. Sucralose-To-Go Ingredients: Water, Sucralose, Malic Acid, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sobate EZ-Sweetz Ingredients: Water, Sucralose, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Succinic Acid, and Citric Acid. There appears to be less acid in EZ-Sweetz. ~Martin Last edited by DiggingDogFarm; 05-19-2013 at 08:02 PM.. |
